381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sources of gambling news on: August 12, 2022, 07:49:24 AM
google.com, Yahoo.com, in short the web browser. @OP you can just open your browser hit a keyboard and search for gambling news.  Lots of gambling news sources will pop up.  You can then have the luxury of browsing lots of gambling sites for the information you needed and I am sure, you will be able to fulfill your desire of knowing news regarding the categories you stated.

Your tips seem simple and obvious, but in fact they don't work as they should - the news space is filled with paid articles and even forums where bots communicate and tell how they beat bookmakers/casinos easily and simply. This is done in order to attract new players and since this is a very monetary area, it is very difficult to find normal information here. Therefore, the OP's question is quite legitimate - if someone sits on a specific resource with adequate news (and most importantly with an adequate discussion of them by living people), then why not share a link to such a resource.
382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best time to play Slot on: August 12, 2022, 07:40:21 AM
Extremely dubious assumptions. How can we assume that on the weekend the probability of a jackpot is higher if its occurrence is regulated not by the number of players, but by the amounts spent on the game? And we can't know (when we start the game) that let's say someone didn't win a large amount of money 5 minutes ago. I think there are some patterns in the number of gamblers (for example, everyone noted their increase during lockdowns), but I doubt that these patterns can help us win in any way.
I believe that the best time to play slots is when the casino holds special promotions and gives additional bonuses for wagered money.
383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your General Feeling After Playing In Casino In the last 10 session on: August 12, 2022, 07:19:31 AM
Gambling gave us a lot of mixed feelings and emotions after we play,
 - we feel excited when we make a profit
 - entertained when we never expect or lose or win and gave us entertaining results,
 - depressed when we expect or our goal to play is to win and we have a strategy to do that but we failed and lose our money
 - Feel sorry when we already win a jackpot but decided to extend and continue playing thinking that its' our lucky day but
   eventually, lose everything.
 - Excited to come back because you want to get the roller coaster ride of winning and losing.
What Is Your General Feeling After Playing In Casino In the last 10 sessions?

I am very careful about gambling, as I am afraid of the possibility of becoming an addicted player (I have seen examples of people with whom this happened). Therefore, I prefer sports betting, and in general, I do not make it in order to earn money, but in order to add emotions when watching the game. The last time I bet on the game Real - Eintracht, but the game was so one-sided that I did not even have time to get nervous about my win.

385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rise of Streamers in Online Gambling on: August 11, 2022, 03:04:33 PM
I saw on the news that the xQc streamer made $686 million worth of bets in three months, but I can not find a reliable source to confirm this news. Have you heard anything about it? If this is true, then in my opinion this is a clear disrespect for his viewers, since it is obvious that all the money from this amount is fake - he clearly could not wage such a huge amount.

I'm not aware of that streamer but I don't find that thing disrespecting his viewers. I don't even find it as big deal to think of. It's true that he made that worth of bets "on his content" and that's a fact. Now for the money he used on that purpose, we don't have to actually know if it's came from whatever sources. If he's a clear affiliated to the gambling site he was always showing as a content, then I think his viewers knows already where should the money came from.

And on that stream, even he's not using his own money, the odds of winning are also applies to that streamer. Basically, he is just showing his viewers the content on his experience on that particular session. Viewers don't even care if the money wagered was by the streamer itself or sponsored. That's not the reason why these viewers are watching the content.

You spoke so much on behalf of his viewers as if people don't have different points of view. I don't know this streamer and I don't know his audience, but I think that someone will take this as a dishonest (fake money game). Also, objectively speaking, on what basis can we assume that he (and similar streamers) really has a fair odds? If he has fake money, then why can't he have fake odds?
386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Games or Gambling Considered Sports, really! on: August 11, 2022, 02:00:44 PM
For now these are the ones that have official status considered sports.
  • Poker.
  • Billiards. Pool. Cue sports
Billiards mainly rely on skills though so it's not a surprise that it gets recognized while Poker, on the other hand, is the one that I didn't expect to be included, I know it's gaining popularity but it's nice to see a casino game eventually becomes a sport.

It turns out that before (once) billiards was considered a game of chance? I wonder on what basis - I can not find a single element in this game that depends on luck and not on skill. Then darts or archery can be considered gambling.
As far as poker is concerned, this is a controversial decision. After all, if we put 2 professionals against each other, then the outcome of their confrontation will be determined by luck, since poker has a rather limited set of tricks and strategies.
387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling in Moderation, Pros can out weigh its Cons in Financial and Health? on: August 11, 2022, 01:43:13 PM
It's pretty much the same thing. That's how addiction is formed, you do something, get the dopamine effect, you feel good at the moment, and then in the long term you have negative consequences.

It doesn't matter if the thing is tobacco, alcohol, chocolate, or gambling. You feel good in the moment, and you continue doing it because of it.

Short term mindset vs long term mindset.

The people with long term mindset tend to be healthier and wealthier than the ones with short term mindset.

In general, I agree with you and am not going to defend those who "burn through" their lives. I just want to note that sometimes there is such a paradox: the one who has a short-term mindset gets what he wants at certain moments, and the one who has a long-term mindset often does not receive anything at certain moments, since their achievements are "smeared" in time.
388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sources of gambling news on: August 11, 2022, 01:31:04 PM
I was wondering if there are reliable sources of gambling news.
For example, we have sites for political news, fashion news, sports news, weather news, and so on but I never come across sites where there is gambling-related news.
Will appreciate it if anyone shares the gambling new sources as it will be additional beneficial for the gambling community.

Maybe there are some more precise parameters that determine your interest? Because, for example, betting and poker are directly related to gambling, but these are almost non-intersecting different universes. Poker fans have their own forums and news, betting fans have their own. Plus, from country to country, the specifics (due to legislation and local conditions) can vary greatly.
389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: August 10, 2022, 12:37:48 PM
It does not mean anything as in the national teams players are of the highest caliber so they don't need a lot of time to find each other, they select 22 out of a lot of players and this selection process is a tough one that is why we see much better performance during national teams clashes. We see much more beautiful goals from such events and that is why for me the World Cup is the best football event, well as its name says in the world. There will be no edge except that of the quality which is already known before the event takes place by seeing which player each team has called upon for the event.

I can assume that any top club in the top ten will beat any top national team (even France or Brazil), so it's hard to agree that the World Cup is the best football event in terms of the level of play. You think so only because this is a rare event and teams such as Germany - Brazil may not meet each other for 10 years, while we see games of the level of Real - Liverpool every year in the Champions League.
390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: August 10, 2022, 12:24:21 PM
-Gerard Pique has agreed to cancel his current contract with La Liga giants Barcelona and sign a new one with a reduced wage
-Barcelona had asked Pique, as well as De Jong, Ter Stegen and Lenglet to void their current deals and revert to the old ones signed in 2020
-Barcelona lawyers had found signs of criminality in the new contract extensions they signed in 2020 under former president Josep Bartomeu

source

Interesting news. It turns out that if I sign a contract, then in a couple of years I can refuse to fulfill it because I suspect myself of violations? But at the same time, if the counterparty makes concessions to me, then I will pretend that there was no violation and will not go to the police. Barcelona behave very strangely towards their own players.
Too much bullshit about the Barcelona situation, I am really fed up with how the media keeps mixing facts with their opinions which are then consumed raw by the readers. I think the current situation of Barcelona is much better since Lewandowski was introduced to the public a few days ago, but the media keeps looking for news and keeps on paddling it so the polemic never seems to develop.

You know? Before Laliga officially starts, there is always an opportunity for Barcelona to resolve issues with their players. They will make every effort to register all those players, so just wait and close your ears a bit from some of the media.

What exactly is the bullshit about the situation in Barcelona? What specific facts are being distorted by the media? I see Barcelona behaving like a scammer towards their own players who borrowed money to Barcelona and now it turns out (according to management) that it was all "wrong" and they don't want to pay their debts. In recent years, Barcelona has lost not only financial stability but also its reputation.

-skip-
100 units at Fairlay on Eintracht Frankfurt to WIN vs Real Madrid @7.60. Other odds: 7.40
Units advantage: 20

Running advantage after 4 bets: +20
All-time cumulative: +83,124
Running units after 3 bets (2W|1L): +1,475 (+545)

I don't think the odds of 7.60 are too good for this game. Real will gladly win another title - in this game it will not lack motivation. In the official game, Bayern beat Frankfurt 6-1, I don't think Real is so weaker than Bayern to lose to Frankfurt in regular time. I would rather believe in a scoring draw like 2-2. Which by the way will be a big disappointment for both of us as I bet on Real to win in regular time with odds of 1.4.

Myth 7: There Are “Hot” and “Cold” Slot Machines
>> Fact: Slot machines are programmed to promote problematic play and win for the house.

This is not a myth, but a fact. The problem is that it's outdated. Now slot machines have more advanced algorithms, while earlier (maybe 15 years ago) they were much simpler and ordinary players, with a long observation of the slot machine, could understand when a big win was possible. If we take into account modern realities, then counting cards in Black Jack can be called a myth, since it does not work now.
a backed up study stating that this is a fact would be nice

With great pleasure I would give you links to documented cases of vulnerabilities in the algorithms of old slot machines, but Google search is completely clogged with casino SEO, so searching in this topic is completely impossible. Therefore, I propose to look at the article from the first message more carefully:

Quote
Both the single-line slots (the traditional slots) and the more modern multi-line slots are programmed to give LDW “wins” in a specific payback percentage, but it is always less than 100% and certainly not above 100%, meaning that the house always wins. There are no “hot” slot machines, only “cold” ones.

The point is this. The slot machine is obliged to give part of the money back and this percentage is very high: 94-95% - therefore, if some slot machine "won" a lot of money from the player without a return, then soon it will give a win because it is obliged to do so. Such slots used to be called hot slots. Now the algorithms are more advanced, so watching the slot machine will not help you in any way to determine the "state" of its algorithm.
394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: POSSIBLE THINGS TO HELP US TO WIN AT CRYPTO CASINOS on: August 09, 2022, 06:24:53 PM
I wonder what calculations can be done if, for example, for dice, the house edge is always 1%? No matter how the player thinks, at a distance the probability of his winning tends to zero.
As for avoiding playing in a bad mood, I completely agree - anger leads to an aggressive game when a player tries to win back and accelerates the loss of a deposit very much.

There isn't any thing to calculate for luck-based games. They are luck-based for a reason, and no matter how you try to calculate your winning/losing possibility, nothing will change because in the long run, the house will win against you and there's nothing one can do about it.

On sports betting this is possible, but we're talking about crypto casinos.

But do you understand that "luck" will be a little different with, for example, a house edge of 1% and, for example, 10%? It is much more profitable to play where the advantage of the casino is less.

As for betting on sports, I do not believe that this is possible - the outcome of the competition has an element of chance and when guessing, the bookmaker has an advantage. He will inevitably win at a distance. Although there are various nuances that can change everything.

It isn't zero since the chance of winning isn't zero.  For example in a dice, you have a 50/50 chance to win it. If the house edge is around 1% then you have a 49/51 chance to win.  So definitely it is not zero chance.  I think it is better to say that we have a greater tendency to lose than saying no chance of winning.

If expressed in terms of mathematics, then in games where the casino has an advantage, the result of the game has a negative mathematical expectation. There is even a chance to win the lottery, but you can find out the understanding of the final result during a long game by looking at the mathematical expectation of the game. If it is negative, then the result is a loss.

397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Profitable are Gambling Bots? on: August 08, 2022, 09:21:36 AM
This is a classic case of a person selling the book "How to make a million by selling the book" How to make a million "", hahaha. No one will sell the goose that lays the golden eggs. This is also true for trading on the stock exchange, forex, etc. All supposedly arbitrage bots that are sold in fact do not bring any stable profit, and most often they are simply unprofitable over the entire trading distance.

Haha. You said it very well. That is why it is wrong to call bots for gambling profitable because they only work according to a certain algorithm that is set by the user and if the user does not have a strategy that in normal game leads him to win no bot can not change it. In my opinion selling bots for gambling is a kind of deception.

Yes, I also think that those who sell "profitable" bots are ordinary scammers. I have nothing against ordinary bots that help automate trading/betting/monitoring, but "profitable" bots are 100% fraud. It’s pretty funny that judging by the number of topics (if you look at the betting forums), there is always someone naive who buys either a bot or just betting tips (or even information about supposedly fixed games hahaha) and then resents that he was deceived.
398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 08, 2022, 09:12:20 AM
My mind doesn't really understand the whole concept of Barcelona being in debt and still spending the most. If they are in so much debt and la liga doesn't allow them to do "something" (not really understood what they do not allow) and then Barcelona goes ahead and spends the most money on a summer.

How does that work? I get that they sold a lot of stuff, their tv rights in a part, jersey sales and etc etc, but at the same time it makes no sense to me that they would make this kind of situation possible if you ask me, sounds like a weird place to be in. Can someone clearly explain to me what was the trouble they were in, and how did they get out of it to spend this much money?

As I understand it, Barcelona had a huge debt (about one and a half billion). To cut it short, Barcelona sold 25% of its media rights. But instead of using all the money to pay off debts (including to the players), Barcelona began to make purchases of new players. Now their budget for player salaries has increased, and La Liga is demanding that Barcelona cut the budget to 400 million, and until this figure is reached, Barcelona will not be able to register new players.
399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: August 07, 2022, 04:08:00 PM
Does anyone know (or where to look) what rewards sportsbet offers in the high tier loyalty program? I mean platinum, titanium and diamond levels. It's not that I plan to be there, but the closeness of information (or am I just not good at searching?) increases the interest. I'm sure that there are those who have reached at least the platinum level.
I was at all those levels at some periods of my betting career and it is basically the same, you have to wager more to get next reward in higher tiers, but rewards get better. Don't have a clear cut formula for it and it seems a bit random here and there but in general the rewards are growing with your levels.

Whoa, cool. It is a pity that you do not remember the size of the awards. At the silver level, they are something like 0.02 mBTC if you choose rakeback. I understand that this is a very low tier, but the reward is also very low. I hope it grows comparable at high tiers so that you can at least feel it (although it probably still remains insignificant for high rollers).
400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some Tips To Aide Successful Sports Betting. on: August 07, 2022, 03:47:49 PM
That's a very important tip for anybody who wants to go into sports betting. I would go even further than this and advice anyone to pick the sport he likes the most and try and become an expert in it. The more we know, the more we follow the games and the leagues, the better our betting results will be. If we only know the basics it becomes hard to look at the odds bookmaker offer us and see if they are cheap or expensive of us. The most money we can make when we feel that the we know more than what the odds imply. Back in university I was betting a lot with friends on all kind of sports, even when we had no real clue. Now I limit myself to mostly football, rappers and basketball games. It's the sport where I always check results, follow the top teams and watch the games even without betting on it. To stay around for a long in sports betting it's good to have a passion for a game and maybe even play it ourselves.

I wonder if there are any studies on this topic that would confirm the correctness of this statement? I remember how some magazine did an experiment where monkeys threw darts at a target whose pieces consisted of the names of stocks, and based on these throws, an investment portfolio was formed. So this portfolio was no worse than many (and even often better) investment portfolios from professional managers. Perhaps the situation is similar with betting.
