381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Kambosos - May 12 IBF Lightweight Title on: February 27, 2024, 08:52:05 AM
Regardless, I am curious what's next to the winner. When the coward Tank Davis was given a free belt, I doubt there will be another undisputed champion in this division soon. Shakur is the best fighter in this division but because of his boring and unmarketable style, the other champions will have more reasons to just duck him.

It's in house money for Top Rank, I think Shakur is going to fight the winner of this fight. Tank will be well protected and I don't think they are ready to let him face either Loma or Shakur this year.

That would be nice to see Loma ( a possible winner ) vs Shakur fight. it's the technical fighter vs a slippery fighter. It's not new to Loma since he had already fought Haney which I believe have a similar style like Shakur but Shakur is much shorter than Haney, so probably that will give Loma an advantage to that. We don't have to worry about the possible revenue of this fight since alhough Shakur is boring, but Loma will make it interesting.

It is not only Shakur is shorter than Haney. Do not underestimate that in reality, Devin Haney is very much bigger than expected. His move to super lightweight might be thought as something similar to moving up to a heavier weight division. However, it should be something similar to moving to a weight division with his correct height and size hehehe. Some fans speculated that Prograis might win because he belonged in the higher weight division but in the ring it was very clear that the much bigger boxer was Devin Haney. He might also find a home on welterweight with in 5 years.

I think both of them can go to 140 lbs, similar to how Haney, Teo and Garcia is right now. It's that Tank Davis doesn't want to take that risk and try to remain at 135 lbs and now he had a fight in his horizon. Same with Shakur, he hasn't accomplished anything yet in this division and yet he was avoided.

But being in Top Rank he can for sure get the winner of this fight obviously.

For Tank, he will be protected and preserved that 0 so that he has the leverage in negotiations and be always the A-side.

I very much agree on your comment on Tank Davis. This also showed in his negotiations with Ryan Garcia and his team where Tank included an agreement that Ryan will not be allowed to be over a certain weight during the fight. This is cleary very headshaking behavior of a hustler. It was more headshaking that Ryan and his team were easily tricked when Ryan signed the contract.

I think it's Ryan or GBP who wanted the fight and that's the price they have to pay. As they allowed Tank and his camp to put a lot of clause in their contract, including rehydration and how big Ryan could be in the fight itself. Reasoning is that they don't want Ryan to have the advantage.

This type of trickery and the attitude of avoiding risk is making me speculate if Tank was really injured vs. Pitbull Cruz. I reckon if someone proposes a rematch, Tank will avoid Pitbull similar to Canelo and his avoidance of Benavidez hehehee.

He didn't give Pitbull the rematch, he has has move on. But we all know that he is fighting lesser and soft opponents. Again, it could have been because they want to preserved his unbeaten record like his mentor Floyd.
382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 27, 2024, 02:29:04 AM
^^ What is David Benavidez leaves PBC and join Eddie Hearn and DAZN just to chase Canelo? Similar to what GGG did just to get his fight with Canelo back then?

It's not about the money, Canelo was offered as per reports,

$45 Million for Charlo
$55 Million for Spence at 164 lbs
$65 Million for Benavidez

Maybe this is his and Eddie Hearn plans after all, feel sorry for Tom Brown and the PBC for falling for Canelo's trickery here.
383  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we see BTC at ATH before the year ends? on: February 26, 2024, 09:22:01 PM
I've watched BTC go from 23k to 52800 currently and with reports stating BTC outflows from exchanges rising to 8months HIGH, do you think BTC will hit ATH this year?
https://coinmarketcap.com/community/articles/65db377c13c6094f48999ba4/

And it's already 54k, closing in to the next barrier of $55k. I thought that OP is asking if we can reach ATH prior to the Halving. But if we are talking about at the end of the year. I think there is a big chance to set a new ATH and break $69k.

We all know that the block halving is the catalyst for the start of the bull run for this cycle. But I say that we shouldn't get excited, there are still a lot of times to accumulate even in bull run. So let's just wait what's going to happen this year and 2025 and what will be the top for this cycle.

385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: February 24, 2024, 01:10:00 AM
Francis Ngannou training for body shots

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ucZPe9MMUkc

His trainer might be thinking that Joshua will go on the body more early and try to test if Francis can handle that body blows as we have seen Fury didn't used this strategy early and just really aim at the head of Francis and that's why he was caught and getting knock down. So let's see if Joshua will go to the body, but Francis is prepared with those solid balls hitting that body.
386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 24, 2024, 12:37:05 AM
I'm seeing news articles today saying the DeMarcus Cousins has officially retired from the NBA.  There was talk that he had been trying out with the Golden State Warriors to be a backup center, but it seems those talks have died out.  I would've liked to have seen Cousins have more success in his career.  He was an absolute beast in his time with the Sacramento Kings and I think him and Anthony Davis would have surprised people with their postseason success had DeMarcus not gone down with an injury that then plagued him the rest of his career.  In his prime, he was a truly special player.

And it just shows the argument that NBA teams are not into the hunt for a center or even a back up. Dwight Howard and Cousins could have been a good in any team right now, but in this era, as we have argued, it has change already, it's more on big men needed to shoot outside.

But I do agree that during his prime Cousins can rekt anyone, and I believed that even Joel version right now, he will have a hard time guarding Cousins one on one. Injuries really plague any basketball superstars and we have seen it get the best of every players.
387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather vs Pacquiao II on: February 24, 2024, 12:22:41 AM
They will be greedy for sure, because it's all about the money that they can generate and that's why both parties are willing to do it. And I think that's their motivation here, it's more on the financial side now as compare to who is the best of their generation and it has been debated for many years since they retire, Mayweather's 50-0 undefeated, or Pacman's record of 8 divisional champion that has never been done before.

I saw in one thread that Canelo is commanding $35 million in his next fight. So what's more here? Most likely it could be in the tune of $50 million guaranteed each of them. So definitely, there are a lot of money to be made and it could really make profits for Rizin too if they are the one who is going to make this fight.
You still couldn't deny the bad-blood side of things. On one hand we got someone who fought by the book and won in technicalities and another side who thought they got cheated out of their supposedly final and most monumental win, and a massive dent at the opponent's record.

Ever wondered why despite the fact that the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight's advertised by many sports network as the last fight for Pacquiao before he hang his gloves, only to come back to boxing a couple more times until last 2022? Because he's a lost sheep. He wanted to fight Mayweather, got a taste of it, and instead of getting his self-actualization what he instead received is a pack-full of self-doubt and a hole in his wallet. He fought other fighters afterwards to chase the high and probably find the same actualized feeling by beating other fighters but it just won't do. He needs to fight Mayweather and beat him this time. Which is why there's a huge chance this fight's gonna happen.

It was only the many sports networks that might have advertised it, but as fans we all know that Manny will be back despite that lost he had with Floyd and he actually did and guess what, he won against Thurman and become the oldest 147 lbs champion. So he had accomplished things after that defeat from Floyd and so I didn't think that he had open doors for Manny or the so called self-actualization that you are referring to.

Quote
Pacquiao was named as the Fighter of the Decade for years 2000–2009 by the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxing_career_of_Manny_Pacquiao

So he had accomplished a lot of things before fighting Floyd. This is exhibition fight, nothing will be recorded in their pro record as far as I know.

This is for the fans and obviously, they will get a lot of money too.
388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] David Benavidez vs. Olexandr Gvozdyk interim WBC Championship on: February 23, 2024, 09:07:46 PM
This is what we call a contingency fight for Benavidez, OP also had this thread: [Boxing] Beterbiev vs. Bivol - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship. So what I'm seeing here is to best option for David Benavidez.

1. This fight could be treated as a get busy fight for him and a very winnable fight if no Canelo. But if Canelo wants to fight him next then this fight could be scrap right away

2. Win this fight and challenge the winner of Beterbiev vs. Bivol

3. If David Benavidez wins this fight, he can still go down in weight for a mega fight with his target Canelo Alvarez

So this is a brilliant move by his Father Benavidez Sr.
389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - February 24 on: February 23, 2024, 10:53:45 AM
Fight fans, here are the official weigh-in video for this fight,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAWSjmCFqSY

Although it seems that Ancajas has a problem making weight as he needs to strip naked.

I don't know what to take though base on their body language, Inoue looks weight drain by sharp but Ancajas has still some body fats but still make the weight.

Santiago vs Nakatani though might be a good fight as well to watch here.
390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Beterbiev vs. Bivol - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship on: February 23, 2024, 10:36:49 AM
...
Now going with the Beterbiev VS Bivol fight these two are set to really fight, and finally it has come true even though the promotion was set up by Saudi Arabia’s Chairman of General Entertainment Authority Turki Alalshikh, this will be a great opportunity for fans to now see the anticipated fight between the two undated boxers for sure that this will be a great fight that will be set up this year, for sure the PPV will explode with this fight, but for me, Artur Beterbiev is a much Dangerous opponent for Dmitry Bivol than when he fought Canelo Alvarez, for sure that Beterbiev has the technicality and the power to make this fight a fast fight for sure.

Pretty sure Beterbiev fighting Bivol for the undisputed championship is another entertaining fight. It will be a fight between a smart fighter and a knockout artist. But with regards to the PPV buys, I do not think it will explode. They are great fighters but they are not popular among casual fans. Casual fans are the ones to deliver PPV buys 400k and above. Put Jake Paul, Tank Davis, KSI, and Ryan Garcia against Barbie and they will sell more than this real fight of Beterbiv and Bivol. This is nothing new though. Top fighters like Crawford, Spence, legends Barrera, Morales, and even Pacman before beating De La Hoya can deliver only 100k to 400k PPV buys when they are not facing popular fighters.

Anyway, what matters here is making great memorable fights and accomplishing rare feats to make their names live forever.

I think that's part of boxing right now, either

a. We see great fights, regardless of what will be the PPV numbers. As long as whoever back it up, Saudi or the promoters themselves, we will see the best fights.

b. All for the money, fights like that include Ryan Garcia or Canelo.

So in this case we have option a, HE Turki Alalshikh is willing to shell out money just to see the best LHW in our era fighting for unification belt.
391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 23, 2024, 10:21:45 AM
But now, centers are different, they are now shooting from the outside, making 3's. And it's probably the blame on the European's like Dirk early 2000's when they came and then shots from 3's and thus evolved as we have seen Jokic or even Embiid attempting to shoot from the outside.

Dirk has played almost his entire career at the power forward position rather than the center position. So, I don't think he should be blamed for the current generation of centers playing more outside the paint.
Honestly, I somehow think that the NBA will sooner or later come to the point where centers who can dominate the paint will be valued again rather than those who can shoot 3-pointers.

It's just for semantics mate, what I mean is that Dirk started the whole "big guy" shooting from the outside. We haven't seen that kind of players before, center or power forward who's shooting deep.

But now, every center, like Joel and Jokic or ever power forward like Giannis shooting from that region. I'm not sure about that, just look at the Warriors, they have a legit center in Looney, but it was Draymond who play that center position for them or at least guard the tallest player in the opposite team. There could still be centers in the league, but we might not see what Shaq did during his prime or even Dwight Howard who completely dominated the paint and then intimidate and block shots.

It looks like this fight might likely to happen in the future,

(...)

Thanks for the link. So maybe it's not enough to call it "official" yet, but since Pacquiao and RIZIN's Chief Exec have confirmed it, and since Mayweather is not denying it, it's fair to assume the fight is at least pre-agreed and probably in a stage of contract negotiations. Or maybe the contract is already signed but they're just waiting to officially announce it closer to the date so the hype doesn't die out before the fight.
Both are willing to fight so it's only down to agreeing on the money.
And hopefully that both parties or teams wont really be that so greedy when it comes to share or their part so that this one would really be already fixed out.Tons of fans are really that waiting up for this rematch
and we do know that this is something that it is really that interesting to watch despite of being an exhibition fight and not official since both are retired but it would really be always nice to see
these legends to fight inside the ring on which we havent been able to see on whose the better guy.Yes, MP had been beaten up by Mayweather but that one isnt really that something
satisfying win. Right?

They will be greedy for sure, because it's all about the money that they can generate and that's why both parties are willing to do it. 393  Economy / Speculation / Re: A new ATH before halving. Is it possible? on: February 22, 2024, 08:55:00 PM
Smart investors and those who are experienced in the crypto market and in investing in Bitcoin have entered the market long ago to buy Bitcoin as an addition to their own portfolio to achieve very high success when Bitcoin again prints an ATH through its price in the market. Because those who enter the market when Bitcoin prices are as high as they are now will not get more profits compared to investors who started buying Bitcoin when it was still at $30K last year.

Smart investors have entered the market since but whales can still make more money then them because they have more money to buy more Bitcoin than the smart investors. A whale can use $1 Billion to buy Bitcoin at $50,000  and when he sells it at $100,000 he would had made an extra $1 Billion profits but the smart investors will be making small profits because they didn't buy a bigger amount of Bitcoin as they don't have the money to use therefore don't think that because some people haven't invested into the market yet that they won't make profits. We have different type of investors and they're investing as they think will make them more profits. Some individuals are only interested in Bitcoin when the price is high.

It's a cycle for newbies, if they panic sell, then this big whales are going to buy if from them in a heart beat. Yes, we have been calling them smart investors as they really know how to play the game because they have big casinos.

Nevertheless, I think we can outsmart them, regular investors like the rest of us holds the key here. We shouldn't sell our Bitcoins and we should HODL on them as long as we can. If we are looking for a profit, the best way is to sell them at a higher price or at least time when we are on top in the bull run next year.
394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Recovering gambling addict stories on: February 22, 2024, 09:43:37 AM
Gambling doesn't destroy your life, relationship, career, finances, or cause the individual loss of opportunities. It is reckless, irresponsible, and unguarded gambling that does. If you train yourself or discipline yourself to not bet beyond your budget, you will see that gambling is entertaining, it is fun, it builds relationships, it strengthens human bonds, it created opportunities for networking and it could have the possibility of improving your mental well being. If people whose life has been enriched by gambling can speak up more and tell their stories, it could help. Stories of gambling addict doesn't prevent one from fall into the trap of gambling addition.

Or just stay away from gambling for good. The problem is that it is already saturated us, online or offline. And so every year, a new gambler is born and become addicted and then the cycle just repeats itself.

One gambling quit, recovered, shared his stories so that no one will replicate it or at least learn a thing or two. But then, there will be thousands of gamblers falling into it every year. So it's really on us, whether we learn from them or wanted to test it ourselves or go gambling for fun or for money.
395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 22, 2024, 08:59:50 AM
I agree with everyone and I am missing those good old ASG games as well, but the game is not the same, so the result will not be the same either. You can keep saying that NBA had better defense as much as you want, but the reality is that it didn't, it didn't had that much of a great defense, it had some defensive rules that allowed harder defense to be made, but that also resulted with a lot more injuries as well. These days, defense is still being done, I guarantee you that any defensive player of the year in the past 10 years, could be taken on the year they won it, and put in the 90's and would be one of the best there too. We are just seeing entertainment, nothing more. If you want "real" games that is played tough, you can wait until the finals, that should be fine.

It's not even close.  You can't even hand check now.  The one rule I do like that they put in was sliding underneath a jump shooter after he shoots.  Countless ankles have gotten mangled from that dirty play.  But in general I think most of these tricky tack fouls have changed the game too much.  Last big man I liked to watch was shaq.  Dude straight mangled people in the paint lol.

They still occasionally hand check and refs are too stupid and can't decide if they want to blow the whistle or not, haha.
I miss the good old days when big trucks like Shaq, the mailman or David Robinson would power their way into the lane. Now it's all about looking fancy and shooting 3s.
I also miss the real trash talk. Now you are staring down your opponent and get a tech for it, when you complain about it you get another one and you are gone.
All these soft refs have ruined the game unfortunately.

I think there's still a lot of trash talking inside and outside the court. But this is a different era now, just a few of those kind of plays in the big men position. Maybe we can see Giannis bulldozing himself in the middle, but he is a freak. I mean he could be also the one that change the game as we haven't seen this kind of player, big, tall, and can run. David Robinson could have been doing this already, but when we see it done during their era, everyone was excited.

But now, centers are different, they are now shooting from the outside, making 3's. And it's probably the blame on the European's like Dirk early 2000's when they came and then shots from 3's and thus evolved as we have seen Jokic or even Embiid attempting to shoot from the outside.
396  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cyber Criminals abuse Google Cloud Run - targets crypto on: February 22, 2024, 08:32:16 AM
I have read recently of another malware that targeted Latin American countries or those Spanish speaking nations. I don't know maybe there are a lot banks from that region that are really susceptible to banking malwares and trojans and then completely evolved to hit cryptocurrencies as well. So it's really a threatening crypto universe that we navigate as everyone is a target.

And if as much as we think that this groups are going to stop, no, as long as they can make easy money, they will continue what they know best. So yes, the first lesson for every crypto enthusiast is not to trust anything specially links from unknown sources.
397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Remarkably, how would you rate your past AltCoins price and now? on: February 21, 2024, 08:38:07 PM
As the historical prices of Bitcoin spreads with interestingbdiscussions, does AltCoins also presents you with such appreciable memories?
I mean if you have ever had an Investment experience in the AltCoins industrial system in the pasts where the rate of your interest was highily commendable that even the current appreciating volume in the AltCoins markets hasn't beaten your past AltCoins historical prices before Just as when Bitcoin ATH was $6,900 at 2021 and yet even the current applauding volume of $50,000 plus hasn't beaten the past ATH yet at the current state of the bull run?

In my case it was ETH and ADA that I invested on prior bear market and we all know that they have a good run and hitting new All time high in 2021. Others could have fill their bags with a lot of altcoins that time and then sold for a big profit.

And speaking of ETH, it reaches $3k because of the news about it's Spot ETF

Quote
price topped the $3,000 level on Feb. 20for the first time since April 2022.

Ether climbed from a price of $2,881 on Feb. 19, surging more than 4% in the last 24 hours and 74% over the last 12 months, to hit a year-to-date high at $3,000.97on Binance at 13:45 UTC, according to data from CoinMarketCap.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/ethereum-eth-price-hits-3k-for-the-first-time-since-2022

So this could be a glimpse of what is going to happen in the bull run for many altcoins.
398  Economy / Speculation / Re: Capitalise on Bitcoin Bull Run on: February 21, 2024, 08:11:26 PM
I wouldn't call the advise of the OP capitalizing on the bull run. It's more of really being a smart investors regardless of what is going to happen in the future. There are no guarantee here, we are making a lot of wild and educate guesses.

What makes it's different though is that everyone here has the method on how to accumulate and make profits, it could be short or long term. We even had day traders during the bull run. Yeah, DCA is the key if we are looking to invest as it is also applicable even in a bull run but the profit is not going to be big.
399  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you feel excited while gambling on: February 21, 2024, 01:09:19 PM
From my little activeness over here in the forum and my involvement in gambling I have been seeing some changes in me and it's gradually beginning not to please me anymore I don't know If I will say I am becoming too emotional with my funds but sometimes it's very painful to place a bet for about 2 to 5 consecutive times no winning and this is what is beginning to me make feels sad. I know is a game of luck but sometimes whatever we do and not feels happy we should try to quit it.

I can relate to the pain of playing and not seeing a win and they you are affected mentally. Like you feel that you made the wrong decision to gamble and even if you are losing, you can't quit and stop the bleeding until all your money have been swept away by the casino.

I just have to bring this to know the category of people who belong to this sets that always feels bad or are emotionally touched due to their games has been constantly bursting without winning. I don't know how to channel it but at least gambler should be happy most times i will noticed that only 1 games do take me away from winning and most times there will be option to cash out I will have the full confident that all will be successfully played without knowing games change even at dying minutes.

It's really like a demon inside of every gambler. I mean it's going to be a fight that maybe some part of you says that you should quit and stop gambling for good. But the other side says to continue because you can recover from your lost. So it's going be a daily dilemma and you can just hope for the best for you.
400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Beterbiev vs. Bivol - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship on: February 21, 2024, 10:38:27 AM
I have little knowledge about dopings but Beterbiev was given the go signal which means he passed the VADA test. And I believe VADA is the strictest when it comes to doping tests.

Maybe they saw something not normal in Beterbiev's body but still not illegal. What I heard from the past though is that the Russians have the best laboratories and technology when it comes to hiding doping substances. Same reason why Russia was blocked during the last Olympics.

Anyways, hopefully, both fighters are clean and the fight must go on. It's just a shame Beterbiev only has the chance for the undisputed at this stage of his career. He won against Usyk in the amateurs and gave him hell during their 3 encounters which saw the Ukrainian legend struggle, knocked down, and hurt even with helmets on.

Yeah, I read about the findings, but still if the experts of this can't even identify what substance he used (if he ever had one), then it shouldn't be a problem for now. Unless Beterbiev and his team has some sort of masking agent that the VADA itself hasn't found out.

Maybe it was just a consumption of something that he didn't know he take. But it's just a question whether we believed it or not.

But for now, it's inconclusive as per VADA, so this fight should be a go.
