Today, it was announced by Saudi Arabia’s Chairman of General Entertainment Authority Turki Alalshikh that the fight for the undisputed light heavyweight championship will take place on June 1st. This is one of the most anticipated matchups by boxing fans. Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol are both undefeated, elite pound for pound champions who are at the peak of their careers.

Beterbiev is known for his devastating power and is the only active champion with a 100% knockout ratio, while Bivol is more of a technician who wins his fights by decision. Beterbiev has more belts but Bivol has the more significant accomplishment of having beaten Canelo Alvarez. It will be an interesting clash of styles. After several years of stalling we will finally be able to determine who is the better fighter thanks to the Saudis and their oil money.

This is the most anticipated fight, and it should happen this year, I'm glad promoters made a move to make it happen, its five months to go before the fight but many will look at this fight was going to be a candidate for fight of the year, last year we had the Crawford - Spence mega fight and it was not even close.

With their good record, power, and ring generalship I don't expect a fight like the Crawford - Spence fight, I expect the fight to be close and full and action, the fight could go either way but if we based it on both fighters last fight I prefer Beterbiev to win the fight by knockout.

Great fight indeed, at least we will finally see who is the best in the LHW division.

a. Beterbiev is the obvious heavier puncher, and recently he still shows that he can stop or knockout everyone in the LHW

b. Bivol is the younger fighter, taller and have the reach advantage perhaps. And he has one of the best wins against the cash cow in Canelo Alvarez. So at least we have seen him how his style can go against a aggressive fighter. Not saying that Beterbiev and Canelo has the same style, but both loves to attack and aggressive and Bivol was able to neutralize it by his volume punching.

So style makes fight, and I think Beterbiev will be the slight favorite here. But very hard to see how the fight will end or who will end. Might take some time for us to digest the fight and then make the right decision on who to bet.

I was trying to find the betting odds of this fight since it's not yet included in the OP but I could not find one.

This is good, it's a strong competition between these two warriors, but I will vote for Bivol to win as I was more familiar with him since he beaten Canelo which is a strong and a very popular champion.

I am also not expecting that this fight will be a long one, so my vote goes to Bivol  winning a KO.

It's about time that these two square off the in ring, they are the only two fighters standing in their division, and it is the only fight that is missing in their legacy, it's for the fans, the boxing community, and their legacy, Beterbiev at 39 is still at its peak of his career and so is Bivol, honestly the fight could go either way but reviewing many of their fights, Beterbiev has the edge, his never been seriously hurt he has the perfect record and he brutally destroy all his opponents, making him the most dangerous boxer of our generation.

I do hope that there is no boycott here, and Beterviev has move to Canada already for many years. Although Bivol still carries the Russian Flag, boxing politics should be step aside here and we as fans should enjoy the fight.

But millions of PPV could be far stretch here, there are ways that fans can watch for free. And although it could generate millions, I doubt that it can reach that high, maybe if this fight is like 5-10 years ago, it would go more than a mil in PPV number, in my opinion.

For me, I will go with Bivol here, perhaps his overwhelming style of suffocation might be too much for Beterbiev early and he might have a hard time trying to get back into the fight in the latter rounds. Yarde almost did that in their fight, but he was big muscular and so doesn't have the gas tank to last the full fight.

And in the late rounds, he got tired, careless and what hit by Beterbiev and that's it. If Bivol can sustain that volume per round, he might win in a very close decision from the judges card. Not unless Beterbiev starts very fast early and throwing everything with bad intentions and caught Bivol several times then we could see a stoppage win by Beterbiev, perhaps 8-10 rounds. But if what I see on Bivol's strategy here, then if ever he will be the underdog, then it's a good bet on him.

I guess it's all about the money, and if it is good for WBC and the Sulaimans, the fight will go and continue regardless of who they support or what is their political believes are. Two possibilities here, either Beterbiev winning by KO or Bivol winning by decision. Bivol isn't a champion if he doesn't possess the skills of a champion, and he has already fought a fighter that is a well known champion, although that fighter just try to move up and maybe wasn't comfortable with his weight. That's true we have no control over the situation and because of their passion during their training they get into injury, so I will not be surprised if anyone suffers an injury but I hope there will be none and the fight will push on the given date but if ever there is a delay because of injury from anyone of them, they will all agree that they will not look for other fights but will wait for the other to heal or get better, so the fight will happen.

I have Beterbiev winning the fight by decision or knockout, I like pressure fighters because they love to engage but it goes down to who can take the punch from the other, between the two Beterbiev is the heavy puncher based on what we've seen in all his fights
