381  Other / Meta / Re: Activity, Time Spent on Forum, and Post Quality on: June 18, 2013, 08:19:50 PM
My theory about activity is that the quality of your posts, as well as the number of replies you give to the same topic, and the time spent on the forum determines it.
If you reply more to a thread with quality posts, in theory, you are more "active."

How would it be able to check the quality of your posts? I kinda like the idea tho.

Word count, I guess.  And Lexile score maybe?  I don't know, maybe an admin will make an announcement later today.
382  Other / Meta / Who is Theymos? and is Tysat staff? on: June 18, 2013, 08:19:00 PM
A lot of people are directing their complaint/requests, etc. at Theymos.  Does he own the forum?  Also, I saw that Tysat had the title of staff, is he an employee?  Curious about the goings-on in the forums.  Smiley

dammit, i want to keep 999 posts
kicked from hero to jr  Shocked

That suck's.
Whoa!  I think activity is the new "post count."
It's a better system, the lower your activity the less quality I guess.

389  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for partner(s) for Lenovo laptops. on: June 18, 2013, 07:19:44 PM
I'm currently looking for a reliable partner(s) to assist me in some business endeavors, specifically acquiring Lenovo branded laptops. I have a specific loophole to get them for a huge discount, and while not at all illegal (no carding, scamming etc) , it could be considered a moral gray area by some. The only requirements are a car, ability to pick up packages, and some way of selling them (eBay, here if there is demand, etc.) If you can't sell them I am also willing to do an arrangement where you keep one and send one to me. I don't neccesarilly need a constant partner for this, if you just want to do it once and get a lappie and send one to me I'm good with that. I can get pretty much any machine, within reason.

I am looking for a 50/50 split for whoever is interested. It is pretty much a risk free job and requires minimal work for a good payout.

PM me if interested. I'll explain in non-specific terms how I am getting the laptops and what you need to do but don't expect to be told the loophole (for obvious reasons). For general questions please post in the thread.

How are you going to get them?

My signup issues are resolved.

Is it possible to have an update of sorts and say the top amount so far so we can know where we stand?

Yeah! How much money do y'all have?

Curious, how will the winner be determined?
USD or BTC?

What do you mean??

If you want to sell btc at a dollar a piece go right ahead. Mt Gox doesn't get cases like this because people are dealing with real assets while we have monopoly money. Here you can get the equivalent of about 15k by pressing a few buttons. The real market isn't like that.

It's play money. Let's have fun while we can!  Smiley

It's play money but that does not detract from the fact that this is a competition with 10btc at stake.

It doesn't matter about the 10 BTC or not, this exchange looks good and probably succeed with my playing!

No, signups are not disabled.  You can create as many accounts as you want.  Not sure how being a good trader and market manipulator are mutually exclusive.  Even within a mature market, you'd want to do both to the extent possible.

Sorry for the double post but I just wanted to say I agree with the above statement...  Wink

Whoo! Market Manipulation!
Just sold some BTC at $1 a piece!  Who's gonna get it?
 Smiley
Just curious, how does Mt. Gox prevent this?
Or is it just that we are more careless with our play money?

Find an abandoned house / appartment no too close to you place and use the address of the abandoned house / appartment.

Before using this address check whether it's not already occupied by squatters.

What's a squatter?
400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Official Bitcoin Blog! We blog about new faucets, services and more! on: June 17, 2013, 01:56:06 AM
Well you get reduced trading fees  Smiley
It's wrong to call yourself "official", even though you have no endorsement. Plus you're making profit off of it, which makes it even worse.

I couldn't think of anything else, though.
At first I thought "the bitcoin blog" but the domain was already taken.
I'll create a new blog called "Bitcoin 4 Newbs" or "The Unofficial BTC blog" and move all my current posts.  What do you think?  Smiley

Hey fishy, this one is for free: bitcoinstart.blogspot.com

You're welcome.

Thanks!  I got a newbie one though:
