Unfortunately, this kind of press is actually not good for bitcoin. It gives it a bad reputation.

how about ltc entering mtgox tomorrow is it true?

This ones been going around for awhile..... source?

Yeah, kind of like BFL's delivery time...  Tongue
383  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Big Bux and Scare Tactics: The Inside Joke about BFL on: July 23, 2013, 03:29:02 PM

On the other hand, I ordered some USB Block Eruptors from BTCGuild a couple weeks ago and took delivery of them last Friday.

Again, 330mh/s is cute, and one of these might make for a nice stocking stuffer for Christmas, but somehow I don't imagine someone rigging up hundreds of USB hubs to run a block erupter farm. 1 BFL single = 150 erupters, give or take.

My point was that I ordered them and actually received them in a reasonable amount of time. They're mining right now. Where is your BFL single right now?

Go to BTCGuild and follow their instructions for BFGMiner. It's much easier.

I would suggest 50btc or bitminter....I think BTCGuild is throttling new member to keep below 51%  MinePeon is what I am using works out the gate no problems.
Here are a pic of my first asic running a blistering 335 mega hash. I will be a btc millionare in a few hundred years. Shocked I am still running a gpu as well for a total of 930Mh/s. I have ordered 5 more block erupters. I will prolly stop there. I am putting most of my BTC into mining shares.

Yeah, I wasn't necessarily meaning you should mine with BTCGuild, they just have really good instructions. Smiley I actually use abcpool.co for my mining.

I've currently got 2 x 7950 and 4 x USB Block Eruptors, which puts me at about 2.3 GH/s. Which puts me at about where I was at a month ago with just the 2 x 7950s...

387  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Why is everyone trying to sell the USB Asic K1 Miner??? on: July 22, 2013, 10:15:01 PM
I bought 4 of the Block Eruptors a couple weeks or so ago when 1 BTC was $70 USD, for a total of $280. I get 1.3 GH/s from them. My 2 x 7950 GPUs cost me about $600 and I get about 1.03 GH/s from them.

Seems like I got a pretty good deal on an ASIC product that is actually shipping (they're hashing away as I type this).

However, when they were going for 2 BTC and BTC was at $150 USD, I too thought they were ridiculous...  Wink

True if BFL were the only game in town.  Far from it.

BFL is currently the only ASIC manufacturer still taking AND filling orders.

Really? Taking orders today, but filling orders from a year ago doesn't quite count.

390  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGWatcher 1.2.3, the GUI/monitor for CGMiner and BFGMiner to prevent downtime on: July 20, 2013, 07:18:14 PM
I've been using this with CGMiner and some GPUs. Last night, I added some of the USB stick ASICs. I ended up running BFGMiner for them, simultaneous with CGMiner for the GPUs. Is there a way to have CGWatcher working for both mining programs at the same time? Or is there some other way to make sure BFGMiner keeps going/restarts if there are problems?
391  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1423GH] ABCPool PPS - Proxy Pool For High & Steady Mining Rewards on: July 20, 2013, 01:56:13 AM
It finally updated and looks correct - 1 hour after I started.
392  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1423GH] ABCPool PPS - Proxy Pool For High & Steady Mining Rewards on: July 20, 2013, 01:23:55 AM
I just got some Block Eruptors, and am using BFGMiner with them. On the same computer, I am using CGMiner with my GPUs. Each mining program is using a different worker. They both appear to be having shares accepted, but the stats are not updating. Is there a problem on your end? I've been going for 20 minutes now.
393  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best game to take advantage of two 7950s? on: July 19, 2013, 08:21:13 PM
I believe Crysis 3 was another of the free games. I played it briefly, and will have to try it again.

I just got my first big power bill of the summer. It usually goes up from the A/C, but my mining has cost me an extra $45 or so. I figured out today that it would actually be more cost effective to use my new USB miners on a Raspberry Pi (I just happen to have one lying around) than to just add them to the mining rig that is running with GPUs.

So, it looks like I'll be trying out these games with the 7950s as soon as the USB hub I just ordered arrives.

I bought mine for about USD $70 each during the dip a couple weeks ago.  Grin

Yeah, I actually was just reading about some of the effects they used for Tomb Raider. It sounds like, as good as it looks with my 7770, I'm going to have to at least try it with the 7950s. Smiley

So, a game that hasn't been released yet, and an animated game that's 6 years old. Geez... I guess they're going on ebay.
397  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why there is so much hatred towards the Winklewii? on: July 10, 2013, 10:34:33 PM
If you saw the movie (or even if you didn't) you should really read the book it's based on: The Accidental Billionaires.
398  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Block Erupter USB on: July 10, 2013, 08:38:45 PM
I would agree, but then again "cash" is harder to move around and well you have the regulatory banking industry to deal with.  Given FC pays dividends in XBT, so accepting cash complicates the bookkeeping and dividends.

Moreover, FC have to convert the XBY to RMB to pay expenses, so  it is good that he has to sell some, and well the rest of the market gets access to that.

So in conclusion its good for the XBT economy that it works this way.

Well, at least the advantage to the buyer is that they've gotten a whole lot cheaper in the last week...
399  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Block Erupter USB on: July 10, 2013, 08:35:57 PM

One thing people might not realize when you sell on Amazon. You do NOT get your money right away. Amazon pays out in 3 week blocks.
So if he sells 1 Block erupter today he will not get paid till 3 Sundays from today. ACH pushes are every Sunday around 2PM PST.

Not sure where you get that from - Amazon pays me weekly or on demand, my choice, and that includes all shipped orders at that point. I just wish they didn't take 20%. At least it's better than the 30% they take on Android apps (which they do delay payment on by a month).

if Amazon accepted btc, he would have.  Grin

Is there a reason only BTC is accepted for them? Just the principle? With BTC being so volatile, I'd think cash would actually be preferable if you're not adjusting the price in BTC to the market...
