381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Tactics When Market is Falling on: June 05, 2018, 03:17:49 PM
Hi all,
I am a relative newbie but have remained pretty calm during the difficult last week or so. The markets are falling significantly again, is this still relatively normal and is the best advice just to HODL? Moving forward I think I will set stop losses on all holdings to protect my capital against falls like this.
Thanks

When the market falls, the tactic of avoiding losses is by holding it up, try not to panic and do not worry too much because the market is sure to improve.
382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your attitude to this? on: June 05, 2018, 02:39:05 PM
Good afternoon. I would like to hear your opinion. I've been reading the forum sufficiently long, but I rarely write. I had one question. Why is the forum divided into 2 teams that angry with one another? The first support bitcoin and hate all altcoins. All of this for them is only garbage. Others like altcoins and do not understand what the problem have first.
I have a question for the first camp. Why?
Take for example Zilliqa, Tomocoin, NEO, DragonChain, etc. People who bought them in large quantities became richer. Why do you think this is garbage?
Bitcoin is a legend, but some altcoins are worth paying attention to, aren't they?

Everyone has his or her own mind, and sometimes they just look at it from their own point of view. In my opinion, bitcoin is worth mentioning as the best crypto coin, and for altcoin it is not all garbage, but there are also potent altcoins and can provide nice benefits.
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Winner of this year, ETH or BTC? on: June 05, 2018, 02:27:46 PM
Hello everyone!

Recently, I was thinkig. Is there really any reason for the BTC to be the market leader? The only thing that is giving the value to BTC is pretty much the fact, that it was the first crypto currency. It is the grandfather of all cryptos. But we know it has its flaws... It was never designed for broad usage, it has scaling issues and so on.

On the other hand, we were given ETH. The Crypto Kitties or w/e the awesome internet meme ETH appliction is called showed us, that ETH network has issues with high amounts of usage. BUT, 90% of all altcoins are based on the ERC-20 standard, brought to us by ETH. The smart contracts using the Solidity are extremly good piece of technolgy.

So my question is. Do you think, that BTC will keep its leadership, or will ETH be the winner of this year and surpass its ancestor?

Of course bitcoin is the winner. But bitcoin and ethereum are very good coins and will continue to grow in the future, and having both will give good results.
384  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where does bitcoin end up this year on: June 05, 2018, 02:13:16 PM
Bitcoin is starting to climb up again. Where do you think think does it end up by the end of the quarter or eventually by the end of 2018.

I think bitcoin at the end of the year will be able to reach 18k-20k. I believe bitcoin will increase even though it is currently falling at a low price.
385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto ICO's are killing Bitcoin. on: June 04, 2018, 09:25:39 PM
I never understood why cryptotraders and exchanges support ICO's, my reasoning is this: An ICO gets funded, then they do what, they SELL the BTC they raised for fiat and push the price dive on BTC, thus taking all those BTC out of the trade environment, anyone thinking that an ICO would reinvest into the exchange is naive. This hurts everyone, even the exchanges. You might say "Well the exchanges get fee's on ico" well that is true, but they are losing all future potential fee's on those coins, if they had continued trade on the market.

So in Short - ICO's are killing Bitcoin and CryptoMarkets.

Ico will not be as popular as bitcoin, bitcoin is the foundation of crypto and will remain the main one. Ico will not be able to kill bitcoin because ico does not have enough power to do it.
386  Economy / Speculation / Re: Remember, Bitcoin is the best Cryptocurrency to Hodl. on: June 04, 2018, 08:57:38 PM
At a time when the price of cryptocurrencies fluctuate sharply at any sign of not too good news, do not press the panic red button on your Bitcoin.
Remember the Pizza guy!
In Bitcoin I trust, come Bull or Bear.

You are right, bitcoin can provide a good advantage if it holds in the long run. And it takes patience so as not to panic with the current market price. Stay confident and patient, bitcoin will definitely increase again, because bitcoin will benefit those who can withstand trust.
387  Economy / Speculation / Re: Still think it can hit 20k !! be optimistic on: June 04, 2018, 05:29:25 PM
Many reason pointed out in the article to believe in the future of Bitcoin :

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/05/26/bitcoin-still-a-buy-says-blockchain-venture-capitalist.html

Also a good statement about ethereum and its relation to ICOs:

"Bogart said he's especially cautious with ethereum, which he said has a lot of overhang because so many initial coin offerings (ICOs) have been built on top of ethereum. He pointed out that if the ICOs don't work out, that could be bad news for the platform its built on. "

It's all just opinions, so my is that it will hit 20k, and I am coming back to this post to say I was right lol.

I am very optimistic bitcoin will be able to reach 20k, and it's just a matter of time. Bitcoin is the main coin in crypto and bitcoin will not fall and die that fast, bitcoin will be able to rise with gradually increased value.
388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH TO $ 5000 on: May 30, 2018, 01:34:16 PM
Now that Ethereum are used by most ICO's do you think before the end of the year (2018) ethereum will go up to 5000 usd ?
Because for me I believe that ethereum has a potential to get that price before 2019 . What's your prediction ?

I think in this year the price of ethereum is very difficult to reach $ 5000 and it seems this year the highest value of ethereum is $ 2000 when it arrives at the end of the year.
389  Economy / Economics / Re: when you sell out of panic, you are contributing to the dump! on: May 30, 2018, 01:26:53 PM
Many of us here are saying, why is the cryptocurrencies market is getting a dump these days. Some are saying is because of the FuD, others are saying it is because of regulations laws in south Korea and India which is also child of FUD. But did you know that  when ever you sell out of panic, you are contributing to the dump and you are also attacking the blockchain technology!

You are right, panicked sellers can contribute to falling bitcoin prices, and for that though many negative news circulating in the media we should be more patient and confident in bitcoin, so bitcoin prices do not fall too low.
390  Economy / Speculation / Re: The whole market is experiencing slump in last few days. on: May 30, 2018, 01:15:57 PM
Yes, we all have seen some kind of drastic price fall from last few days. As a feature of financial instrument I think this is not so unnatural. And so I do believe it will be back shortly. Your opinion will be highly appreciated.

This is normal in the market, and you should not worry too much for current prices, be patient the market can definitely increase again and it's just a matter of time.
391  Economy / Speculation / Re: my prediction is always wrong on: May 30, 2018, 12:58:22 PM
after the bitcoin price drops to $ 10000, yesterday the bitcoin price rose by 8.5%, and I expect the bitcoin price will not fall again, and will slide to $ 20,000, and I think when the natural correction ends.
But today I see bitcoin down again, why this can happen? is it a bubble? how to make the hype to be stable and go back up?

Prediction is only an estimate, and not necessarily it will come true because basically humans will not be able to know the future. If you want to benefit from bitcoin then you have to be patient, because to benefit from bitcoin it is not as easy as expected.
392  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to hit $50,000 this year?? on: May 30, 2018, 12:50:24 PM
Solid bitcoiners what do you think about this. What would be the possibility that this will happen. https://smartereum.com/2404/bitcoin-price-prediction-2018-can-cryptocurrency-hit-50000-sat-apr-7/

No, that's too high for this year, bitcoin can not reach 50k this year, the possibility of bitcoin will reach the price of 50k in 2020, and you should be more patient to wait for it.
393  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we make this world economically better? on: May 30, 2018, 11:42:32 AM
The society is divided into haves and haves not, poor people are getting more poorer and rich people are getting more richer, Value of money is decreasing and inflation is increasing, Many people around the globe suffer death mostly Africa and asia because hunger and unable to fulfill basic human needs.
What actions should governments need to take and how individuals can contribute?

I think with the presence of crypto can reduce a bit of poverty, because with crypto we can get a very good income to make our economy better.
394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which is more risky? Bitcoin or bank investment? on: May 29, 2018, 09:04:30 PM
Bitcoin is indeed risky. But bank investments are risky too. In our country (coz I'm not sure if this exist in other countries). When you have a large amount on your account they will call you and ask you if you want to invest, minimum of 20,000 Php (or 400 USD). They will propose some investment plans where there is a choice of low, medium, or high risk investment. When you choose the high risk there is a chance to lose or gain 100% of your investment (Medium is 75% and low is 50% if I remember it right). It doesn't make sense to me, it sounds like a scam, they will invest using your money and you don't have any control to it. That is why I like bitcoin more, coz Though it is risky and it's very volatile, you have full control on your investment.

What do you guys think?

Bitcoin is far more risky than saving money in a bank, but it is worth the profit. For people who understand about bitcoin and the benefits found in bitcoin then they would prefer bitcoin.
395  Other / Off-topic / Re: BYE BYE BTC on: May 29, 2018, 06:52:56 PM
Bitcoin is old, outdated, slow and uses too much energy. The price will soon be brought down to a level where miners will abandon it. Prices will continue to be kept lower due to CME futures.

Maybe you're panicking at the current bitcoin prices, so you think that way. Bitcoin is still the most popular and definitely the bitcoin price can get better again.
396  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin at $1000? on: May 29, 2018, 06:39:20 PM
I feel like BTC at $8000 is still overpriced. Due to high fees and slow confirmations, it's not really suitable for payments. SegWit seem like just a hack to me. I know we are all Bitcoin optimists here at the forum but is anyone thinking that Bicoin is gonna go down to $1000 level in the next 5 years?

1k after 5 years, I think not, even though bitcoin falls but will not arrive at the 1k price. Bitcoin in the future will be more popular and it will make the bitcoin value rise higher, and I think the 5-year bitcoin price is 70k.
397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are still buying Bitcoin? on: May 29, 2018, 06:32:18 PM
If people buy Bitcoin at $8,000, they will get 100% profit only when Bitcoin reaches $16,000. If it takes 5 years to reach $16,000, people will earn more money from Gold and Silver than from Bitcoin. Silver is giving 20% to 35% profit in one year.

Mining cost of one Bitcoin is $5,000 or more. When Bitcoin was $400 or $800 it was understandable because people had to just spend $400 or $800 to get one Bitcoin and $1,200 is super high profits when Bitcoin started from $1.

Because bitcoin can provide very high profits, the potential for bitcoin price increases is the opportunity to make a profit. Buying it cheap and selling it at a high price is a very attractive advantage.
398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin have more risks than benefits? on: May 28, 2018, 06:24:53 PM
Bank of Spain, in Madrid, says that the bank of cryptocurrencies, bitcoin, it's not worth it, and there are more risks than benefits. There are more innovations and they are having more effect.

What is your opinion?

Risks and benefits can not be separated in the crypto, and it will continue anytime because bitcoin is based on demand and supply, and for that you must be full of calculations if entering the market.
399  Economy / Economics / Re: Why I am quitting ICO's on: May 28, 2018, 06:16:15 PM
I decided to quit ICO's. From December till now I invested about 5 eth into several ICO's. Invest what you can miss, this is what was able to miss.

Right now the first few of my ICO's have reached the exchanges. Most are under performing, but this is related to the overall dip (can be read everywhere). I understand, but ICO token economics have changed also.

  • massive hardcaps
  • most is sold in pre-sale to big investors, leaving scraps for crowdsale
  • much attention to marketing, less to working product or realistic time lines
  • immediately available on EtherDelta and IDEX, sure sign of little interest in token economics/future
  • no lock on pre-sale tokens, whales take their x2, x3 or x-whatever as soon as possible (I would probably have done the same). Prices drop to below ICO price.
  • too many ICO's without distinctive differences.
  • too many ICO's in general
  • too much tokens reserved for team/marketing
  • many ICO's don't even have a crowdsale anymore (which perhaps is a good thing as the little investors are protected this way)
  • ICO prizes are quite high. 1eth = 1000/4000 tokens is pretty common, but with a hc of 40 million, this will not easily go x10 or more.

I was 'unlucky' to miss out on a few ICO's besides the ones I was able to participate in. Afterwards I am glad, since I was able to pick most up at a fraction of the ICO price.

Important as ever: DYOR as not all ICO's have a genuine solution to a genuine problem. Some may seem like a fantastic solution, but often it is marketing combined with a strong team, and not so much a great working product.

And who am I? I am definitely a nobody Tongue, but still wanted to share my experiences and perhaps save people from thinking of getting on board of the next x100 ICO Smiley

p.s. when a Telegram has over 20k subscribers all screaming 'when lambo' with endless rows of animated gifs, you may also wonder if this is a serious block chain solution which will revolutionize 'x' Smiley

Ico does have a high risk and you should be aware at first, but not all ico scam, and there are still ico decent enough to follow. And to get a good ico then do some research first before investing in ico.
400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Future of Cryptocurrency on: May 28, 2018, 06:07:16 PM
Seoul Mayor Plans to Unveil Better Self Crypto for Stratup Blockchain.

Park Woon-soon has announced that South Korea will launch its own crypto and create a better environment for startup companies Blockchain and cryptocurrency in the country. He wants to form a blockchain that is oriented like a startup industry and focuses on developing Seoul's cryptocurrency, 'S coin'.

One of the reasons for the development of 'S coin' is to improve the transparency of governance that exists there. Although the Korean government initially applied very strict rules against cryptocurrency.

what do you think about this? is this good news about the development of cryptocurrency in the future?

The future of cryptocurrency will be more free to use for transactions, many stores will receive payments through cryptocurrency and at that time cryptocurrency will reach the golden period.
