I believe its consensus will be higher and higher in the future.
We never know what's going to happen in the future because new technology is always been discovered and many coins are coming to that offer good technology we never know what coins that's already here or a new one that can really challenge Bitcoin. But one thing I know is nothing is forever and we are always looking for new technology to make our life easy. We cannot be 100% sure that nothing goes out when many things are coming in. Indeed, the cryptocurrency market has already given us enough new technologies. But I think that this is only the beginning and we will see how the new digital era of the economy will develop. |

If bitcoin become legal across the globe that will be the start of the bitcoin mainstreaming and bitcoin will be used as a legal tender. But even with the legalities bitcoin needs to overcome some big issues such as slow confirmation rate, areas without electricity and internet connection, poor people who cannot even buy computer or smartphones. So possibly it bitcoin is legalize the usage of bitcoin will still be limited in urban areas with people who can afford to purchase computer and smartphones. The problem will hit the extreme poor people and the people in far flung areas that has no access to electricity and internet connection.
it makes sense, would be a major problem about internet needs in areas that are not affordable. but I think in the future, all regions will be affordable for the internet. and there will be lots of atm for bitcoin. so they can use or without a card. It's hard to tell, but in my opinion, PayPal will implement Bitcoin before we even notice. At least, that would be the best option for them I think.
Even if Paypal implements bitcoin, it will need longer than we can imagine because, until now, Paypal still dominates the market for the payment method besides credit card. But it will help bitcoin to grow fast if Paypal can integrate their system with bitcoin and people who know Paypal will learn about bitcoin and how to convert their balance inside their Paypal account. But for now, I don't think that bitcoin will overtake Paypal since we need to see bitcoin to be approved in many countries. the scams related to paypal dispute is just not making them acceptable anymore. even if they integrate btc as long as they allow dispute paypal will to continue lose users because of it. both could however benefit from integrating because we can make business out of it. if say i can exchange my btc to usd within the paypal system, i could probably buy btc from an individuals who needs paypal funds and can also sell BTC. How difficult it is to make such transactions, it is very not convenient. I have never done so, and I think it's better to go to a bank or cryptocurrency exchange and exchange Bitcoin for cash. |

The graphs of Bitcoin and gold are too similar and this can be an indicative for Bitcoin to boom like gold in the future. And I believe that Bitcoin will overtake gold in 10-15 years from now.
Obviously the market share is different between gold and bitcoin, charts cannot determine that there are similarities. from the price movement alone is very different between bitcoin and gold. bitcoin will still become a new market share besides gold, and they will move on their own and will not influence or take over each other. But most of the folks who don't know what bitcoin actually is look at it just like a store of value similar to gold or digital gold to be specific. Those 2 chars looks almost identical. I would expect Bitcoin to follow gold pattern in a different way but in the same time to have the same growth but this would mean that we're about to witness the last pump of bitcoin ? If that is the case , Bitcoin needs to achieve a lot more in order to separate itself from the gold and from the pattern as this is the only similar they're having right now. Remember we're still years away from Bitcoin mining supply getting done so I have my reasons to believe Bitcoin will be a lot more bigger than gold chart.
I think it could really achieve similar heights because gold mining too has reduced drastically and is pretty much controlled while btc minning too is Getting scarce with another halving. Unfortunatly, sec dont want to llow ETF. They are scared about mass adoption
Don't worry gold had a history of more than 1000 years before SEC approved them bitcoin is just 10 years old things take time. A lot of time has passed since the moment when gold received permission for large trade. I think that Bitcoin will receive permission for ETF in 10-15 years. |

It really depends on the lightning network I guess, if it keeps working as intended, making smaller transactions dirt cheap, and confirming transactions super fast, we could definelty see BTC as a fast payment option, and viable for those everyday coffees.
I agree with Malse, even though I don't support ripple's views and I definetly don't like the centralised aspect, using ETH, and XRP to pay for small things is just so much easier compared to BTC.
Or change our attitude on what Bitcoin "should be". It's not going to be "the next Paypal". Design decisions should always move more towards decentralization, security, and censorship-resistance, than speed. Even now, I know many people who use ripple for quick transfers between exchanges and among themselves. They do not want to use Bitcoin due to the fact that expensive transactions and are rather slow. |
