381  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bfl a scam? on: August 22, 2013, 11:09:55 AM
It's either an intentional scam or will end up being one because of the delusion/incompetence of the people running it.

There's no such thing as an unintentional scam. The concept is absurd.

What you're thinking of is a fuckup.

BFL Pundit at work...

even promoting the so Call BFL SINGLE at this avatar. Fake they failed/never made that one.

383  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: can we even trust butterfly labs? on: August 22, 2013, 10:55:25 AM
Don't trust them. Beside only shipping 15%-25% of all order place, over a year, its pretty much SCAM.

Wait for other companies coming out and that have payment options that will protect you.

Like Credit Cards...

BFL stop accepting PayPal, huge indication about being SCAMMERS. Now they only accept Wire Transfers and Bitcoin, non-that grants consumer protection.

XCrowd looks very legit and have Escrow.com as an option. BUT STILL BE CAREFULL. Once they begin shipping them out, then we will know...
384  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Don't buy anything from BUTTERFLY LABS ===> Big SCAMMERS EVER! on: August 22, 2013, 10:38:38 AM
I'd rather you didn't.  I want my 7GH miner.

I should buy one, wait 2 months and sue them.

For those leaving in the States,

If you have purchase a product from BFL and you haven't received it. And you waited at least 2 to 3 months and have requested a refund and you haven't received one.

You could sue for not issuing  refund, there is two type of lawsuits, for small claims I wrote in details the process below.

File a Small Claim in your county/city court.  Each county has its a limit on how much you could sue a person or company for. Here is Tucson, AZ were I'm from its $2,500 max.

    You don't need an Attorney,

Just fill the form, [Write in details your claim] you will have to pay a small fee, Here Tucson, AZ is 25.00,
^^Type out in a computer and just submitted with your claim^^

Then you need to send them CERTIFIED LETTER with a copy of the lawsuit and copy of your invoice and your full details.
^^with signature required and returned proof, this will cost you $5 at the USPS

    They will have 3 options
         1. they settle the claim stating that they have issue you a refund and for you to drop the lawsuit and agree to it
         2. Challenge your claim and op to go court...They will respond to court in which they need to send you a copy of there response.
           I. If they want to challenge you, that means they need to travel all the way to your court.
II. with there response you will know what they are planning.
         3. They don't response, then you go to court by your self and Win the case, because the defendant didn't show up.
           I. If you win by default the Judge will issue you a judgment, in which you could use to make them pay or have the company locked down with everything inside, if they refuse to pay.

Small Claims are pretty easy to do, just make sure do everything required.

I'm pretty good at it will help you out with paper work

385  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Don't buy anything from BUTTERFLY LABS ===> Big SCAMMERS EVER! on: August 22, 2013, 10:05:34 AM
They really need to be sued!!! Let's group together!

Just sue them, what state are you located at? how much money do you have in?  I tell what is the best option to do...
386  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: [POLL] Should Butterfly Labs (BFL) get a Scammer tag? on: August 22, 2013, 10:04:25 AM
Only 77 percent say BFL is a scam? Seriously? After BFL pulled a Monarch out of their hat?

A Monarch, that miraculously can cancel formerly uncancelable (pre) orders?

From BFL's webpage: "Transferring your order to a new 28nm Mining Card will cancel your old order completely. ..."

Could anyone explain how a customer can "transfer" an order - but is not allowed to receive a refund because of BFL's "all sales are final" statement?

That means, the argument "we cannot refund you because we already spent resources to build up your device" becomes a fallacy if an order "transfer" is allowed.

How can BFL justify this "non refunds" policy any longer?

Now only that, they are charging a % and you did pay the difference, more $$$ for BFL.
387  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Press Release from BFL regarding the Monarch! on: August 22, 2013, 09:55:24 AM
Since the Monarch is not yet shipping, we can compare it with other products that aren't shipping as well.

The Monarch is NOT the most cost effective product that's coming out.  That would be three products from the xCrowd lineup.  They're both announced for shipping in December (most of the Monarch's sales will definitely NOT ship in December though).

Butterfly Labs Monarch: $4,680 = $7.80 per gh/s
xCrowd Ascraeus: $5,495.35 = $7.33 per gh/s
xCrowd Olympus: $7,992 = $6.66 per gh/s
xCrowd Elysium: $999 = $6.66 per gh/s

Only the claimed power consumption of the Monarch is lower, but nothing is certain until products are shipped.

And for those who want to just get into mining without spending a fortune, the Elysium might be a good entry point.  Unfortunately, no Paypal or CC accepted.

Have high hope for XCrowd  and the pre-order payment option 100% Protects the Buyer, and I'm talking about Escrow.com   Not John King < Not sure who he is.
388  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: is cloudhashing.com a scam?? on: August 22, 2013, 09:37:23 AM
@cloudhasher

My biggest concern is that CloudHashing seems to be founded by the same people from BFL.

But atleast they got more legit payment options, but still don't see Credit Card processing option...
389  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BFL was a SCAM from the beginning -EXT HDD case being sold as a miner in 2011. on: August 22, 2013, 09:24:50 AM
Ok, I stand corrected, thank you for giving out the source.

But then, the date of this archive.org snapshot, August 19, 2011, elucidates everything... At that time BFL had not introduced themselves to the community, they had of course not even started taking orders, and the community was at large completely unaware of BFL. There is only a single bitcointalk.org post referencing BFL, that pre-dates August 19. It was made 4 days earlier on August 15 in the russian subforum by some guy who apparently stumbled upon the site: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=35259.msg456853#msg456853 His post was probably the first link to butterflylabs.com ever, and is probably what allowed the archive.org crawler to discover and archive the page.

Obviously this was a beta version of their website that they were not ready to advertise around. I see no malice in having a non-final "concept" case for the single... Much ado for nothing.

/thread close

They began accepting pre-orders on September 2011, 1 month after lunching the site.

This isn't the only Bitcoin forum there are many of them, I bet they began promoting the so call product line the second they lunched the website.

I'm a programmer, and I could tell you that no legit site will ever begin accepting orders on a Beta/Demo site. Done over 10k since '95.

Order Page
http://web.archive.org/web/20110923170442/http://butterflylabs.com/pre-order-form/

At the beginning of the rush, a-lot of people got fool and some are still being fool.

Look at XCrowd, they look legit, are cheaper then BFL's but I bet people aren't buying Pre-Orders as they did with many companies like BFL at the beginning.

XCrowd has a way better payment option than BLF ever did/have, shit even now... BFL wont accept PayPal as a Payment method. Bitcoin's or Wire Transfer ONLY...

Go buy an Item on Craigslist, eBay and ect. If the seller tells you to, send them a Money Order or a Wire Transfer will you DO IT?

But I'm hoping that those new companies coming out are legit, I have my on two of them.

392  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BFL was a SCAM from the beginning -EXT HDD case being sold as a miner in 2011. on: August 21, 2013, 10:12:30 AM
The Bitforce Single was not in a hard drive case, it has a case very similar to what the Jalapeno uses. It's is also an FPGA miner not an ASIC.

Here is a video of one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neHHrC3qgIE

Your telling me that wasn't a Hard Drive case when BFL started? If you need a higher resolution of the site, ill be happy to upload it...

Full shot of that section.

You've got to love that cardboard cutout they're using in their Monarch ad....

Was the crappies CG design they have release since the new site came up.

But still the External Hard Drive case looks worse  Grin
395  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BFL was a SCAM from the beginning -EXT HDD case being sold as a miner in 2011. on: August 21, 2013, 09:41:07 AM

I was a Scam from the beginning, and smart one for Josh.

So, dumb-ass, are all those people mining with Jalapenos/Little Singles/whatever lying?  Is the network hash rate going up because of these non-existent scam miners?

So what if it took longer than expected?  They're shipping now, and people are getting their products and mining with them.  Yes, they've been less than transparent, but is there any wonder?  The amount of bickering, complaining, trolling and lies being directed to BFL is shocking.

The amount of email they must get from whiners who email every hour on the hour because they've had to wait, who then complain because they don't get a reply for 2 weeks.  Here's an idea, brainiacs, don't email every nanosecond, then they won't have 40,000 emails an hour to wade through.

There are 2 type of Scams.

First being a Go in Quick:
You go  in  and clean up in a few months and disappear (Usually after a few complaints or chargebacks.)

Second being a Show and Tell:
You go in hard. Once you get a cash flow develop afew units around 10-15% of all the order you have
(this is done by buying units from other suppliers and adding your brand to it).
Spreed those units as much as you can.
Send some unites to review sites/testers/known people
    Do marketing

*Then buyer's will come to you thinking your a trustworthy company and don't mine giving you $500-$25,000 and be waiting for a half to a year before getting a product.

    * Keep doing the process Over and Over until it get kill.

Need Proof?
BFL just "release" a new product line the "The Monarch".

How can a company release a new product line when is still has backlog of 70%-85% of all previous orders?

More Proof?
They stop accepting PayPal as a payment method, the only option is  Bitcoin and Bank Transfer's now.

Don't be naïve...
396  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I think that butterfly labs is a scam on: August 21, 2013, 09:11:35 AM
Need Proof
397  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BFL was a SCAM from the beginning -EXT HDD case being sell as a miner in 2011. on: August 21, 2013, 08:46:18 AM

Code:
Further to the “all sales are final” position, Butterfly Labs is no longer accepting PayPal as a method of payment;
instead, only taking bitcoin or bank transfers as payment. Both of these are irreversible payment methods.

RUN AWAY... do not buy from them... Danger Will Robinson DANGER!

bank transfer aren't irreversible, and if you purchase something for them in the begging of the year you could still get your money. ill write an article about it tomorrow
398  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Possible to get refund from BFL? (paid via Bitcoin) on: August 21, 2013, 08:43:14 AM
Ill write on article how you can get a refund from BFL tomorrow.

I know for a FACT that BFL fucked up, and as required by state law. They ether  send you the item or issue you a refund. Therefore making them liable and  you could sue them for profit lost.

Ill write it tomorrow...
399  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Best MotherBoard for Butterfly Labs Monarch PCI card? on: August 21, 2013, 08:34:06 AM
