not the whole 6m, because 3 were sold, but 3m Nxt and some bitcoins were frozen at the Bter, but the 1170 BTC are still missing

Not exactly missing. One can look a them here: https://blockchain.info/nl/address/1GwNLwoCQiobJzmURSAq54vH4BYjFkwaxr
382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bter.com froze 3129000 NXT and need you help to return to the owner on: July 11, 2014, 03:00:13 PM
BTER - class act

Much Respect for BTER.

Why? Wouldn't be better to freeze account and cooperate with police.
Funds - coins have been deposited to BTER trading account and this person seems he would like to sell this coins. You are not police, judge or jury. Just cheap Bter advertising.

I respect klee, but people are acting very hypocritical. If newbie would lost his funds in a similar way, you would all just say it's his fault and that he is stupid. He would never get his funds back.

Please don't get me wrong.

Yes, that's what some other people's opinions at the discussion at

http ://weibo.com/btercom

You need to translate the Chinese language to what you can read

Some people claim that Bter doesn't have any right to move the frozen funds. There must be a legal arbitration.

Please help us to advice a proper institution to make the legal arbitration.

Could you tell us exactly what you need?

Will a police report from klee suffice?

What kind of address?

Not sure I understand  Sad

Please post a NXT address to receive the funds. We also need the community to identify it.

I have been approved by klee to act as escrow for this.

I will set up a new address and post it here. I am an admin on the Nxt forum: https://nxtforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=6
I will also post a Nxt token using any string you give me to use.

How do you need the community to do identification?

kLee (Androklis Polymenis) has just put out a 500 BTC bounty for anyone who is able to retrieve his stolen BTC (1170 BTC): https://blockchain.info/nl/address/1GwNLwoCQiobJzmURSAq54vH4BYjFkwaxr

Going to pump this a little bit: http://www.secureae.com/

You can load your wallet using BTC and buy Assets on the AE Smiley

While you are trying it, buy some DORCS Assets, you know you want to!  Cheesy

Who made secureAE? The site is amazing. Funding with BTC seems so easy and the rate is really good!

Here is the forum thread: https://nxtforum.org/secure-asset-exchange/introduction-to-secure-asset-exchange/

Kushti and Wesley were involved, amongst others whom I don't know (yet)

Edit: I was amazed it hadn't been promoted as much as I find it should be, hence me advertising it now Smiley

State of the art

NXTblocks announced the first version of its block & asset explorer on May 26th 2014, backed by prominent community members Klee (who owns 4.44% of the project) and Pouncer (who owns 13.33% of the project). Since then, NXTblocks has established itself as one of the prominent NXT services web application in the NXT ecosystem, and we have been consistently serving 700-1200 unique users (different IPs) per day. Our first beta version of the browser-encrypted NXT wallet was announced on June 24th 2014, and twelve days later we had more than 230 registered wallets. We expect those numbers to increase on par with NXT's user acceptance rate.

Features planned in future versions of NXTblocks:

Currently, the project is under heavy planning and development in order to design, implement and incorporate all the necessary features that will make NXTblocks what we aspire it to be, which is the number one destination for those who are interested in NXT or make transactions in NXT. Planned features include:

  • An Android (and possibly IOS) mobile wallet application. We are in a premier position of building a lightweight smartphone client for NXT. So-called "heavy" clients are too resource demanding for smartphones, both network-wise (since the blockchain needs to be downloaded) and battery-wise. We are already designing our API, which will be utilized for building a lightweight smartphone wallet client as well.
  • A browser extension that will function as a verifier to enhance security of our web application.
  • More detailed asset information in the AE explorer, including asset holders (with export functionality that will be useful for asset issuers), total capitalization and more.
  • Asset dashboard/portfolio within the wallet that will offer combined asset information and management from multiple accounts.
  • Asset trading from within the wallet, again from multiple NXT accounts.
  • Development of gateways between BTC, LTC and other bitcoin-based currencies to NXT assets, and embedding withdraw/deposit functionality from within the wallet. This will enable us to offer trading of alternative cryptocurrencies from within our web wallet, thus using the NXT Asset Exchange platform to function as an exchange.
  • A Digital Goods Store frontend. We are looking at possible ways to facilitate trading of legal digital goods, while avoiding questionable goods that may compromise our credibility and reputation.
  • A Digital Goods Store wallet dashboard, offering combined product and order information and management for all wallet accounts.

  • Message inbox and encrypted messages functionality.
  • Twitter-like functionality (mark accounts as followed and see their messages in a message stream, useful for following asset announcements etc.)
  • Offering of a RESTful API in order to facilitate the emergence of other services and startups.
  • DNS server based on the NXT alias system (a PowerDNS-based prototype is already in the works).
  • We plan to gradually set up and monitor at least 60 large NRS instances which will serve a backbone of our infrastructure and API, and simultaneously helping the NXT network backbone.

Experimental NRS 1.2.0e has been released: https://nxtforum.org/nrs-releases/nrs-v1-2-0e/

THIS VERSION IS TESTNET ONLY!

This is a development release for testing only. Source code is not provided.

Change log:

This release will run only on testnet. Set nxt.isTestnet=true in nxt.properties.

New features:

Digital goods store.

New http API calls for creating transactions:
dgsListing, dgsDelisting, dgsPriceChange, dgsQuantityChange, dgsPurchase,
dgsDelivery, dgsRefund, dgsFeedback

New http API calls for quering DGS:
getDGSGood, getDGSGoods, getDGSPurchase, getDGSPurchases, getDGSPendingPurchases

Goods and notes exchanged between buyer and seller are encrypted with AES, and
gzip compressed before encryption. Maximum allowed digital goods size is 10240
bytes after compression and encryption.

Alias transfer.

New http API calls: sellAlias, buyAlias

Alias sale can be restricted to a specific buyer, or open to anyone. Alias sale
with price 0 is treated as immediate transfer and doesn't require a separate buy
alias transaction. To change the ask price, submit a new sellAlias transaction.
To cancel a sale, submit a new sellAlias transaction to yourself with price 0.

Buy alias transaction can only be placed if the alias is already for sale. It is
not currently possible to just bid on an alias that is not for sale.

Encrypted messages.
AES encrypted messages are now supported in the core, so there is no need to use
externally encrypted arbitrary messages anymore. Use arbitrary messages only for
plain text, encrypted messages for confidential messaging.

New APIs: sendEncryptedNote and readEncryptedNote. Max message length is 1000
bytes, after compression and encryption.

New http API calls: encryptTo/decryptFrom can be used for encrypting and
decrypting arbitrary text to/from an account. But those just do the encryption
and decryption, don't actually send messages between accounts.

New rsConvert http query for converting account number to RS format and back.

New getBlockId API to get blockId for a given height.

Improved logging, to handle the case when Nxt is embedded as a library.

Minor improvements: getState and getBlockchainStatus now also show application
name, block JSON also shows generatorPublickKey, getAccountId also accepts
publicKey as a parameter.

Updated jetty to version 9.2.1.

Client Updates:

Digital Goods Store UI.

Alias Trading UI.

Encrypted Messages.

Only RS account numbers are allowed. Exchanges and services should switch to RS
format ASAP.

Decode Token Functionality.

Hide Fee / Deadline by default, show via advanced toggle.

Show warning message if user is on a fork (if his account has generated at least
the last 10 blocks).

Several settings (remember passphrase by default, 12/24 hour format).

Dear bm,

Seeing your latest ramblings today, together with insinuation we take pictures from the back on purpose, and implying that "Irish immigrants" are somehow bad has lead me to the conclusion that there is no reasoning with you.

Oh, by the way, look here https://nxtforum.org/bitcoin2014-btc-foundation-conference-amsterdam-%28may-15-17%29/may-16-updates/ for some pictures of us all in full view.

1. You have threatened me, in my function as admin of the Nxt forum, with court action, and I once again invite you to do so.

2. I also invite you to finally post your technical proofs that Nxt is so bad. It would be very helpful for all of us to know. You have been in our developer's chat for almost a month, so I would also like to know when you pointed these out to the developers, and if you did not do so, why not. You dó realise that keeping quiet about potential weaknesses in a system makes you liable, too, don't you? If you had the knowledge, and you have the expertise, you are obliged to point these out when you are part of a project.

3. Also, since I know you like philosophy, I'd like to invite you to post your moral reasoning why you think that running off with 50,000 USD is somehow "not bad" because there isn't an actual contract. Please explain how, in a moral sense, that doesn't make the world a less nice place.

I have numbered these questions, so we can tick them off nicely, one by one, as you provide the answers to them.

396  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: My email to Coindesk.com regarding censorship/comments policy on: June 23, 2014, 07:33:46 PM
Farley what are you denying at this point?  are you denying that:

1) 200 BTC was stolen because the server security was compromised?  (Farley is partly responsible for this server btw)

2) that fanaticalfishing DIDN'T send this message? (I guess he's suggesting I made it up)

so just to make clear, prior to this entire community coming out against me, I was trying to figure out what had happened to the 200 BTC.  From what I understand police were contacted regarding this and I think a few of the 'leaders' of the 'decentralized' NXT community are going to be in the hot seat.  To make a long story short, someone supposedly hacked John Manglaviti's account, impersonated him, and convinced people to send him 200 BTC.  That was the story we were given.

My suggestion to everyone:  stay off these forums.  They are crawling with petty criminals(and worse).

-bm

I love these two points. Just enough lack of accuracy and just enough hinting to tie someone to something he is not involved in.
If you had bothered to do any research (as we as nxtforum admins and forumusers have), you could have already seen that there was no theft of 200, but of 74 Bitcoin.
And yes, before you say it, that is BAD. The reason why I am pointing this out is that one of the facts you parade is WRONG, and yet you bold it. So it must apparently be important for your argument.
Next time, please do some research before you keep parading false facts. The 74 Bitcoin theft is bad enough.

Farl4bit is a moderator. Moderators are NOT responsible for servers. God forbid if they were. Most of them are on a forum for tasks that need different skills, like being able to deal with people.
Furthermore, there is no indication that the servers were compromised. The most credible way that this account was compromised was simple user carelessness, and again, that is bad enough.
Your accusation betrays a lack of insight in the tasks that people fulfil and go way over the line. If you want to accuse farl4bit (or ME for that matter, as I am an admin there) of theft, do so outright, or take it to the authorities. Snide remarks that cast doubt on people's integrity are a low form of attack. Man up, and go to the police and file a complaint, please.

2. Yes, fanaticalfishing díd send a PM. It did not concern you. Yet you feel the need to post it. Actions speak louder than words.

If you have proof that we have done anything wrong, please file a case. I'll be more than happy to meet you in court.
The other way is to just keep on with this farce and try to smear everyone else in the world.

You, sir, are no gentleman.

After working behind the scenes since February, DORCS has finally come out of the shadows!

DORCS is a small gaming company, run by several well-known Nxters, who are developing the first large cryptocurrency MMO, with the working title "Lith".

Lith will be a sandbox type MMO that will evolve over time, based on player actions. Players can take on any role within the game economy: politician, trader, farmer, con-artist, you name it. The rules of the game prohibit no role.

The game will have its own in-game currency, that can be directly traded against Nxt. This means that it is possible to earn actual money by playing Lith, provided you provide value to other players Wink. Or cheat...

To fund the game, we have released our DORCS Asset on the AE today. We are aiming at a starting capital of at least 2 million Nxt, so we can pay our developers (two of which have worked on AAA grade MMO's) and artists. An alpha version of the game is expected in November.

The DORCS Assets should be considered a long term investment. They entitle you to a substantial part of the profits.

Should you want to know more, please visit our subforum or message us: https://nxtforum.org/lith-the-nxt-mmo/

Let's make some gaming history with the first game that fully utilises cryptocurrency!
