We are not compromised, however our current ISP has troubles coping with the DDoS. Note that a DDoS has nothing to do with security. Security usually involves getting inside the site to steal stuff (for example) while DDoS just means sending a lot of legitimate-looking traffic to make the site go down. Anyway we'll be moving to a much stronger solution soon (contract already signed, waiting for setup).

Do not send an extra 0.01, it will most likely not be credited. If you did, send us a mail at info@mtgox.com and post the ticket number here, we'll credit the remaining coins ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Because of all the support and the need to hire more staff to answer everyone we have moved the support from our old method (just reply to mails) to ZenDesk. Support for Mt. Gox is available at: https://support.mtgox.com/Since it's a totally separate service, support is available even when the site itself is down (DDoS, server issues, end of the world, etc). We'll have more people available to reply to everyone shortly, however it'll probably take one or two weeks before we finally reply to everyone. Please try to read the FAQ before asking stuff.

Hi, Please direct issues regarding security (such as those) to admin@mtgox.comWe will enforce more secure passwords on Mt.Gox (refuse simple ones) and add the ability to set a withdraw password. Mark

Are there any other SEPA (euro) exchanges that work FAST? Mt Gox is just too slow nowadays. Grrrrrrrr. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I just spent 2 full days manually checking the ~1000 pending transfers that couldn't be processed (mostly because of postbank, but also because there was a lot of stuff last week). Please contact info@mtgox.com (and include your name as it appears on your bank) if your funds are not credited. We have moved to ZenDesk for support to allow easier support (you can also securely add tickets on http://support.mtgox.com/ - will redirect to ssl). As for the X, it's to detect when your bank decided to truncate the description to avoid crediting funds to the wrong account. If you do not put it it didn't make any difference last week (giving one week for everyone to see the new instructions) and starting this week, transactions without the X will go to manual processing.

For info we have updated the system here, now checks are done every hour (at XX:50, takes ~5 minutes to get the whole backlog from Dwolla)

Someone tried to bruteforce the "add funds" address generator
Because of this the thread checking if funds have arrived now needs more time to check all addresses. It'll be better once the extra addrs will expire

A week ago my money reached Mt.Gox via Dwolla, I bought BTC, the trade showed up in the account history. Tonight I go to look at my account and there is nothing there... 0 BTC, 0 $, and no account history. WTF!!! Anyone else having problems with the site? I sent an email but based on the other threads I don't expect a response anytime soon. Hopefully this is a temporary glitch that gets worked out.
To others I would say BE CAUTIOUS.
Could you tell me your support ticket number so I can look into this? mtgox admins where are you? I have send numerous emails starting on 06/05 !
Could you tell me your support ticket number so I can look into this? Please make sure to include your withdraw reference in those cases.

Has any received a mtgox -> Dwolla withdrawal in the past two days? If not, Mark, can you post a message on the site saying withdrawals can take this long?
Withdrawals are usually processed within a few hours. However we have sometimes connectivity issues with dwolla, that's why we keep all the infos behind a tracking code.

We have been able to confirm that Bitcoin is /not/ a currency as per Japanese law at this point, and the most accurate definition is a security. I have a question for you Mark (if it's not already birru-time in japan) : when are japanese and american laws relevant to mtgox operations since there are at least two companies involved in mtgox operations, one in the US and one in Japan ? The US company only acts as a commercial intermediary, and has no implication in the actual bitcoin exchange, just like the European company. It's hard enough to get the exchange legal in one country, we'll see later for the other countries. That makes sense, so the 1000 USD limit reason is needed to allow the commercial intermediary to not fall under MSB regulations requirements, right ? Does it also imply that the funds wired in the US or France actually move to Japan at some point ? The 1000 USD / day limit does not come from the US MSB thing, but from the Japanese AML regulations.

This is kind of good news, but the highlighted parts still make my heart sink: Because of this we will apply new limits to bitcoin withdrawals, with a different ability to lift this limit. This means it will be much easier to withdraw bitcoins soon (need to finish the ToS first).
If it isn't completely irrelevant to me whether I keep my bitcoins at Mt.Gox, mybitcoin, instawallet or in my own client, then Bitcoins lose a huge part of their attraction -- namely that I can move them about on demand at my whim, not the whim of my bank/exchange/wallet-provider/government. "New limits" doesn't mean "lower limits", more like "more adapted limits" (will be online this week). Users will be able to increase their limit as they wish, as the limit will only have one purpose: avoiding some random stranger to empty completely your hard earned bitcoins because they stole your mtgox password.

Mark,
Is that the description in the screenshot above?
Yes, however I'm not going to recopy it manually. Please include it as text when you mail.

When I first used bit-faucet it too far longer than I expected. So I wouldn't panic yet.
As soon as my client downloaded the block containing the transaction, the bitcoins showed up in my client. Turns out I didn't really know how this technology works. Oh well. We get that case a lot in the mails we are handling, I'd guess this is mostly due to the fact the current method to find the initial peers (via irc) is not adapted to the growth of the network.

Hi, Just make sure you send your transfer ref (the uuid) when mailing info@mtgox.com. If you don't it may cause delays until your transfer is handled. Mark

Will you also be able to provide deposits via Credit and Debit cards soon as well?
Not anytime soon.

Hi, I got out of a long meeting with a couple of accountants, a lawyer and a corporate specialist (dunno how to translate that from Japanese in a more accurate way). We finally reached a conclusion on Bitcoin, and will be finally able to provide a ToS on MtGox. Until now I have been regulating the flow of bitcoins as it could have been considered a currency (interpretation by popular definition) which would have been really bad. We have been able to confirm that Bitcoin is /not/ a currency as per Japanese law at this point, and the most accurate definition is a security. Because of this we will apply new limits to bitcoin withdrawals, with a different ability to lift this limit. yeah, must be more trouble than its worth. but in principle you guys would accept transfers to the account listed on your site if they clearly include a romaji username in the comments? ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Just put MTGOX + your id in the comment ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

about japan, can you give more details why the normal domestic transfer system is insufficient? (e.g. its possible to write comments on a domestic transfer through the ATM etc)
though i agree a virtual account would be more convenient (i used one for international transfers)
We don't have enough japanese users yet to justify anything, and most of the time people will forget to write a comment on the ATM, thru I receive payments with people's name written in katakana, and I have to try to guess the appropriate english writing to find the user, a lot of pain in the end.
