I am actually pretty excited to see what changes are coming around the corner with this campaign over the next month...
I am also very excited to see a rush of new members on 1 June in this campaign and whats stunna going to do with all this

I wonder how many users he is willing to let participate in this. It has to get to a certain point where it isn't profitable to keep adding more people.

He's gonna have to cap users eventually.  With Ritz shutting down his sig campaign there is going to be a tonne of new members signing up. I guess he could always lower rates, not much of a fan of that option though.

Perhaps there is a way to pay higher rates to long time loyal members and lower rates for new sign ups?

If you don't want to wager with bitbet, I can escrow for free.

I can escrow this if you want.

If Dogie says the miner works as they claim, that's good enough for me.  My only concern at that point would be that it was a one off miner and the others they make won't work at the same efficiently as the one that they sent to Dogie.

I would be more impressed if they managed to fake it or bin a single unit 35% more power efficient than normal. Its either going to be as they say, or it won't!

K, sweet. Thanks for the clarification.  I don't know a hell of a lot about these things and with all the scams I've seen, I'm leery when I see a new company make claims on their hardware.

I'm in the market to upgrade, and this one does sound intriguing.

Never buy anything if you're the "first" customer. Do not buy anything unless the company has proven physical/visual units.

Do other customers already have units from this company? Are they happy? etc.

All questions you ask/verify before you even THINK about sending money for a miner.

Thanks for the advice.  I'm not about to send them any money without a lot of proof that the unit are as they say they are.  I was close to buying the cointerra miner, glad I didn't.  Definitely gonna keep my eye of this thread though. Hopefully they can deliver their promises.

think of it as an expensive lesson, now you know to never gamble again

gambling is a mugs game, never gamble.

In terms of gambling, losing roughly $900 USD is a pretty cheap lesson.  Its a crappy way to learn, but it could be much worse.

For the most part I agree with the never gamble part. But it can be fun to go to the Casino with a bunch of friends with say a $20 limit.  It can make for an entertaining evening.

sure, i guess sociable gambling is OK with friends at a casino but when you're sweating it out with all your money going to go busto or make it then where's the fun in that?

Not sure, but many people keep doing it in those situations.  I guess they're addicted though.  My buddy works with a guy that earns pretty decent money. He's a concrete mixer driver.  He gets paid on Friday and heads straight to the Casino.  He also plays a tonne of Keno at the pub.  He will call my buddy and go on about how he just won $1000 bucks or whatever the big winner is.  He doesn't take into account it cost him $1500 to win $1000.  Anyways, he's usually broke when he comes into work on the Monday looking to borrow money for food.

You will never come out ahead if you gamble.  You may have a lucky streak and win a little.  The longer you play the more you'll lose in the long run. The casino always has the advantage.

Sorry about your luck, at least it was only 1.6 btc. I have a buddy that gambled away his condo.  The bank foreclosed because he kept gambling away his mortgage payments.

Actually next week....Dogie is getting a sample he mentioned in the first page. So he will do one of his fantabulous reviews and teardowns on the hardware. That's a good start to validating the claims.

If Dogie says the miner works as they claim, that's good enough for me.  My only concern at that point would be that it was a one off miner and the others they make won't work at the same efficiently as the one that they sent to Dogie.

For the people that in the sig business for long, what kind of post stunna didn't pay you?

Posts that are less than 10 words and posts that consist of images or +1's are most likely all going to mean that you won't be paid for that particular post.

Are you kidding or what? Cool

Any post that is less than 10 words in length classifies as spam IMHO. If you're making posts that are as short as that then you aren't really contributing anything to whatever discussion you're in.

I disagree that posts of 10 words or less are spam.  While I do try and put effort into all of my posts, there have been times where less than 10 word posts contribute to the discussion of the thread.

I hope you realize it's just a story I contrived around an actual event(s), and have no qualms with chicken hawks eating my "friends". My cross-dressing neighbor has already trapped and relocated ~80 squirrels so that less damage would be done to his home under the eaves, whereas the reckneck on the other side of me uses them for target practice for the same reasons. I feed them and, again, would have no qualms with some hawk eating them. Rabbits in my lettuce patch, on the hand...

Yeah, I realized it soon after, was kinda hoping the comment would fly under the radar, LOL! My bad, too many beers.

You should keep an eye out on the rabbits. They have been know to eat carrots...

Only $3,400.00?

Can we see an actual picture of one?  Better yet, do you have a video of one hashing currently to prove your claims?

I don't think we will see any proof of this product yet. Have taken time to measure sound, power consumption, but not to take a picture of miner?

They should be proving proof of product now considering they claim to have them for sale now.  From their FAQ:

Can I buy a miner in person without any advance payment?

– Yes, if we have miners available for sale.

*Edit*

Shit, just noticed the big "if" in the answer.

Sounds like it could be an expensive giveaway - I think they are hoping many will do nothing with their free bitcoin

Not really, I'm sure the price of admission takes into account the giveaway.  I'm sure Budweiser is eating up a bunch of the cost as promotion.

Part of nature.

People eat cow and pig everyday. The condition they live in is horrible.

There isn't much you can do unless you can convince people to convert to vegetarian.

Not so much different than bird eats bird world.

But corn can scream. Who will save the corn? Killing plants is MURDER!

Might as well just eat rocks, right?
[/quote]

What about the cries of the carrots? Who will fight for their rights?

And the angel of the lord came unto me snatching me up from my place of slumber.
And took me on high and higher still until we moved to the spaces betwixt the air itself.
And he brought me into a vast farmlands of our own midwest.
And as we descended cries of impending doom rose from the soil.
One thousand nay a million voices full of fear.
And terror possessed me then.
And I begged "Angel of the Lord what are these tortured screams?"
And the angel said unto me, "These are the cries of the carrots, the cries of the carrots!
You see, Reverend Maynard, tomorrow is harvest day and to them it is the holocaust."
And I sprang from my slumber drenched in sweat like the tears of one million terrified brothers and roared,
"Hear me now, I have seen the light! They have a consciousness, they have a life, they have a soul!
Damn you! Let the rabbits wear glasses! Save our brothers!"

Can I get an amen?

Can I get a hallelujah?

Thank you Jesus.

Would you attend the concert?
Why or Why not?

I wouldn't attend the concert because of the lineup.  I'm no big fan of the lineup and $10 bucks worth of bitcoin isn't going to sweeten the pot.

It's a cool idea though.  I like the fact that Budweiser and bitoin are being used together.
395  Other / Off-topic / Re: FACEBOOK IS DEAD on: May 27, 2014, 04:32:39 AM
I don't think FB is dead.
I have almost 2000 FB friends and using FB for quick communication and sharing news with my friends.
Great tool also to find friends after a long time, even after 20 or more years Smiley (My own experience).

Oh, I see you are quite popular on facebook. I wonder how many of these 'facebook friends' would lend you money if you ask them. And how many will be on your wedding or funeral...  Let me tell you - probably none.

Great points, also - what point is there in being in touch with people you would never be in touch with elsewise?

If there was a dude that you went to school with 20 years ago and you never calls or visit him, and he never calls or visits you, why should you become facebook friends?

It's also worth nothing that facebook is used by intel orgs to map your social network.  Also what value is it in talking with people on facebook? I find it to be very superficial most of the time, it's also a time killer. So I stopped years ago.

i have a few people on my facebook from elementary school and high school that I haven't seen since.  Through those friends I have been reconnected with friends that I see and talk to on a regular basis.  I met my current girlfriend through that process.

My one buddy lives in England now, I can use the facebook chat to talk with him for free.  Since he is in a very different time zone, we can chat at our own pace when we have the time to comment back. I can also chat with multiple people at once while doing other things.

Through group chats it's very easy to organize large gatherings without trying to get everyone together at one time.

I agree that there are many issues with facebook, but it can serve a good purpose.

I'm not one to have 100's or even 1000's of friends on facebook though either.

Congrats, and good points.

Thanks, it was a crazy chain of events that likely would not have happened without facebook.  I only say that because oddly enough we live about 10 minutes from each other.  So I guess it is possible we could have ran into each other without facebook.

I do wish people would learn when to turn it off and use some sort of real contact though.  I have a couple buddies that I rarely hang out with now because they can't stay of facebook while we are out at the pub or wherever we end up.

Social media has it's uses, but in the end, I believe the bad parts of it will far outweigh it's good parts.

397  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup [HD] on: May 27, 2014, 01:55:56 AM
That would seem to be an over current condition.  The change of a few degrees shouldnt be enough to melt the plastic on the fuse unless you notice that the case is getting really hot.  Then you should check that the fan is running.  Dogie has some info about reversing the fan for better air flow but i would suspect that the fan is not running and thats what is causing the build up of heat,  the other option would be that the socket for the fuse is loose and causing high resistance.  Was there a good amount of resistance when you replaced the fuse?

If ever a Bitmain customer needs help call the help line at 844-BIT-MAIN

http://dcmco-op.com/?ref=Drizzik  fully endorses BITMAIN..  No Lazy Ants Here!!!

Fan was running when I found the fuse like that. Could have stopped at some point and started again? I had trouble pulling the fuse out and had to use pliers to get it out.  I had all the power disconnected at the time.  It was also difficult to push the new fuse in.

I thought this was weird though.  I plugged the miner back in without the fuse and the fan kicked on. Didn't mine though.  I turned it back off and put the fuse in. It started mining.  Is that normal?
The key part is: "I had trouble pulling the fuse out and had to use pliers". Best bet is that there was a bad connection between the fuse and the fuse connector causing heat. The heat "welded"the fuse to the fuse connector. When a fuse gets hot the fuse link melts--at a low temperature, that is how they work. If there is heat it is the fuse connection.

In my case I noticed that the fuse was to hot to hold my finger on. That was caused by a bad connection between the fuse and fuse connector. Later the fuse was cool but the fuse was "welded: to the fuse connector--could not bee removed with my fingers.

Insure that the fuse has a good/tight mechanical connection to the fuse connector and is not hot.

Don't blame the dust, it is your friend protecting your equipment.

I've been checking it all day on and off and last night since it happened. Everything seems to be running fine.  Looks like it's happened to a few people out of the blue as well from the comments above.  I'm gonna chalk it up as a fluke or that maybe the fuse over time vibrated itself loose.

I've worked around car audio for years and have never seen a fuse melt like that while not blowing.

I'd like to thank everyone for your help and information, much appreciated.
398  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: May 26, 2014, 11:45:52 PM
Why would Stunna stop paying for off topic posts?  It is a very active part of this board and advertising is advertising after all.

I agree it is very active, however the issue is are people going to see your post and the related signature?  Is anyone really reading who everyone's favorite star wars character is, or all the answers to the above posts with questions, or whatever?

Maybe so.  I am not hating, I just want this to continue to work for Stunna when a similar campaign clearly was not working for Ritz.  It seems to me that Stunna should want posts where potential PD players are likely to be, e.g. gambling, maybe new users and help, or something like that, but I have never looked at the data.

I can see your point.  There are many threads in off topic that are totally useless.  There are many threads in the bitcoin section that are useless as well though. Pretty sure the same can be said for all sections of the board. I do what I can to stick to the ones that I think can be of value and can create decent conversation.  I think a little self moderation for everyone would make this board and the sig campaigns better.  I was unaware Ritz was having issues. I never check his thread since I'm with PD's campaign.

*Edit*

I see now, Ritz is stopping his campaign.  I think it's the fact he went too big, too fast.  Stunna has taken a long time to build PrimeDice and the campaign program.  Seems to me like Ritz went "all in" and lost.
399  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: May 26, 2014, 11:17:11 PM
This is a pessimist inside me which tells that nothing lasts forever. And actually it was you who started being pessimistic and all that ("soon[er] or later this service is going to be too expensive and the old, loyal members are screwed")... Cool

It is amazing to me that Stunna can keep this up - I am impressed and grateful.  My promotion for PD is my main source of "play" btc and I will miss it when it's gone.  I wonder if Stunna just stopped paying for posts in off topic or something like that, maybe decreased the payments after the first 50, if it would help?

Thanks and good luck!

I think all of us loyal PD sig campaigners are grateful and appreciate the efforts of Stunna.  I can't see it going away anytime soon. As Jcw188 stated, many user likely give back all and even more bitcoin to the PD casino.

Stunna seems live a very smart person and the fact this campaign has run so long proves it. I'm sure Stunna is raising the rates at this time because he can afford to do so.  Why would Stunna stop paying for off topic posts?  It is a very active part of this board and advertising is advertising after all.
400  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much you spend on the internet? on: May 26, 2014, 09:36:29 PM
About $50 a month.

I play ~$100 / month for 50/5. Meh.

I pay $60 a month for 25 MBPS download speed. It comes with a cap of 250 GB of data a month.

Ouch, guessing New Zealand or Australia?

SHAW Cable in Canada. The prices here are ridiculous for internet.  There are other internet providers here, but I've found SHAW most reliable.

This is the site, if you want to take a look at the option we have here: http://www.shaw.ca/internet/

I agree that shaw is the fastest internet but Telus tends to offer specials now and then that undercut them
That said between telus and shaw
Shaw is faster but Telus can be as reliable and cheaper
However if we compare it to this place called Olds Alberta it helps me to realize how ripped off we are in mobile internet and phone services
http://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/small-alberta-town-gets-massive-1-000-mbps-broadband-boost-1.1382428

Well that's just sickening, LOL!

I've been thinking about switching to Telus on and off for a while now, but I've had really bad experiences with them in the past.  Shaw has raised my rates twice over the past 12 months and I've got nothing extra in return.  We do get bent over a f'd dry here in Canada when it comes to cell and internet.  I mean, I pay $82 a month for my cell service, and that's with 250MB I think for data.  Oddly enough, I use Telus for that, LOL!

We definitely should have more options here i Canada. IN and around Vancouver we have 2 option for TV/Internet, Shaw and Telus.  Cell options aren't much better. Telus, Rogers, and Bell.  The monopolies need to end!

I agree with you kind of made a tiny mafia here in response to their monopoly.
Basically discovered Bitcoin and found some good wifi extenders and range boosters at the Bitcoinstore
(Not for sale in the stores around here so had to use my BTC)
Then talked with a neighbor of ours who was already paying for fast internet from Telus and asked for their wifi password using the boosters we split the internet bill between us and cancelled our service with Telus but have the wifi range increased so that it extends to our house.
Was inspired from a MMM thread (Mr money mustache) Added the link below
(Basically a normal wifi router blankets your house and not much more but with boosters the range can be expanded a fair bit)
With a Dlink Wifi booster from Staples we now have a 5 bar system in the house and share costs instead of taking the full burden.

Now the internet costs only $25 dollars a month on our side the rate we had two years ago before all these ridiculous price increases from Telus and then Shaw aka the promo pricing.
Was $47 for a year but we had to argue that rate since they wanted to increase it to $55 like the new clients.
So rather than haggling with telus it made sense to just buy the equipment and then have the system pay for itself in LESS than a year.
Since the minimum for internet service only is around 55 dollars a month which is just too expensive there was a large margin to undercut.

I agree with you mate we definitely need more options if your a student with telus they tend to give you a special at the beginning of the school term of 30 dollars a month for a year which is the cheapest deal around.
Even give out 50 dollar visa gift cards to sweeten the deal so if you can get that might be worth it as well 15mbp plan add 5 dollars and you can get the same deal for 30 dollars. (Think it went up 5 dollars now) So Up to 15 = $30 25 = $35 and 50 = $40 for a year something like that
Old link but that offer is more or less the same and recurring every year.
http://forums.redflagdeals.com/telus-student-internet-25-a-1367992/

Now if only could figure out a way to get cheaper mobile service
Can only go so low without data Fido and its 30 dollar plan
Since it uses the Roger network pretty reliable although I have pondered wind and koodo but contracted lol.
Still a smartphone and wifi then a 20-30 dollar plan saves a bundle but I wish we had a republic wireless here
http://www.mrmoneymustache.com/2013/11/16/republic-wireless-old-phone-new-phone-and-a-tempting-competitor/
http://www.mrmoneymustache.com/2012/05/16/internet-sharing-how-to-get-revenge-on-the-cable-company/

Interesting, I like the idea of splitting the internet in that way.  I may have to go and talk to the neighbors about that. Thanks for the idea. One thing I do like about being with Shaw, they have the shaw go wi-fi zones.  There are tonnes of them around where I live and the cell phone connects automatically when you enter one of them.  Definitely cuts down on the cell phone data usage.

Not sure who long you have been with your cell provider, but if it's been a long time, I suggest talking to the loyalty and retention department. I've been with Telus almost 14 years and when my contract expires I'll definitely be pushing for anther loyalty contract.  My previous contract I was paying roughly $40 a month for more than what I'm getting now for $82.  They usually only let you do it every 2nd contract apparently. again, having so few options, they can dictate the terms.

Then there is the price of cell phones up here, but thats a whole different discussion, LOL!
