381  Economy / Economics / Re: Money and happiness. on: August 01, 2021, 07:46:15 AM
Money can't buy happiness there are two different things which are both highly correlated to one another. Many people are happy and satisfied when they have enough money and vice-versa.To some extent it can help lift up one's state of emotion but on the the other hand it cant solve all issues in life and bring about absolute happiness at all.

You are a funny person.  Grin Grin
Please, can you tell me one particular person that doesn't have money and he/she looks happy.
Money may not get all the happiness but tell me where poverty has brought joy to. Money is the only thing that can satisfy your life and needs, it makes one exceptional and brings one true self comfort.
To even say that you wear a signature for been paid, why not do it free since you are happy.
382  Economy / Economics / Re: Why don't banks work with cryptocurrency? on: August 01, 2021, 07:41:37 AM
The government do not allow banks to fully engage in such activities. Banks is centralized and is controled by the government.  But digital currency  is decentralized, these two are contradictory sides.

Government disallowed banks not just because of its decentralization, they afraid of the illicit actions of banks management that may follow.
60% of deposits in banks belong to customers and the affairs of banks are to manage them and accrue interests but what will happen when banks use all his customers money on crypto and the whole things crashes, that will be suicide to everyone especially now that it's not regulated and controlled by small groups of people.
383  Economy / Economics / Re: Higher Inflation Is Here to Stay for Years on: August 01, 2021, 07:38:07 AM
You don't know what you're talking about in your title OP, it's going to eventually subside, it's just that at this point we just can't see it so we think that there's no end to it. There's a lot of hyperinflation throughout history and all of them seem to subside in time and the country that was affected did recovered from the damage.

OP forgot that Central Bank is also watching his activity. We shouldn't be consumed by the volatility of crypto and the immense profits we all have.
Saying hyper-deflation isn't good for everyone even if you are holding a the crypto, what's the essence of high return in profit from investment and inflation chart is linearly increasing, your investment becomes nill.
The system will adjust itself as the economy opens back to its normal state.
384  Economy / Economics / Re: The Role of Government in Crypto on: August 01, 2021, 07:33:58 AM
the primary role of government is to provide a regulatory framework in an economy, Government sole responsibility is to provide a guideline on how thing are to be done within their jurisdictions.

this is not different with cryptocurrency although cryptocurrency is created with high anonymous the truth remains that cryptocurrency co-exist with other factors in the economy such as the bank and the traditional currencies, for crypto to become a full flesh currency it need to under go government regulation because that is the only way cryptocurrency will be considered a legal currency.

questions:

will will government regulations on cryptocurrencies undermined crypto decentralized nature?

Regulations comes when government notice that a particular environment is not conducive for her people, hence the necessary instructions and legal action need to be put in place expecially when it involves financial.
Crypto anonymous nature has increased some fraud activities and embezzlement of money that's why government is really concerned about regulation.
However, I think government is overdoing it. They are going far and this is one of the reason Satoshi created bitcoin to fully decentralized in a such a way that no one or group of people have sovereignty over it.
385  Economy / Economics / Re: Can cryptocurrencies replace fiat currencies on: July 30, 2021, 08:29:08 PM
Cryptocurrency replacing fiat will certainly never happen. Governments and central banks will not allow that to happen. Cryptocurrencies will be the trend in the future and will exist alongside fiat. Cryptocurrencies give people more options in their payment methods or become another trusted place to invest and store assets.

I think so, cryptocurrencies certainly can't be applied like fiat, there are many conditions that cryptocurrency cannot fulfill to replace fiat, for example is a security system, I'm worried if I want to pay with crypto then the internet is disrupted so the transaction fails.

Just imagine a situation like this. It cost a plate of chicken $20 equivalent to 0.0020btc for example, and then, you wake up one morning bitcoin double and the restaurant rule was no matter what, the cost of purchasing a plate of chicken remain 0.0020btc, that would be ridiculous cos I know much people would want to implement something like that and vice versa.
If one is selling goods and receiving cash in form payment, you would be at lost when bitcoin fall in price and if one isn't careful, you may be force to leave the market because the chance of buying more goods will be low.
Bitcoin is and will never be good for fiat replacement but perhaps for reserve.
386  Economy / Economics / Re: Which area will develop after the epidemic? on: July 30, 2021, 08:19:50 PM
This epidemic is also a warning to countries all over the world,The integrity of health service equipment is very important, and a country’s macro-control capabilities are also necessary.
China has slowly stepped out of the impact of the epidemic. On the contrary, other countries are still increasing the number of infected people, and their economy is greatly affected.

Everyone has opened and average person knows that to survive, one must have an alternative source of income and not depend on their salaries.
Countries who are not industrial have all wise up and would by now reduce their level of importation, it really affects many countries that were all begging developed countries for medical infrastructures
Not just Chinese alone, south africa has gone back to isolation as the number of cases keep increases.
387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin that two people highly esteem on: July 29, 2021, 09:10:03 PM
Everyone has their own foreign opinion of the coin they like. Moreover, Elon is a person who has a great influence on Doge. so it's only natural that he has great respect for DogeCoin

He said he loves meme that's why he likes dogecoin but we all know that he likes it because he bought at very very low price and was heavily influenced by him and wouldn't want to dump the price anytime soon.
I would have done the same if I were him as long as money would be made, I will naturally said I love dogs but literally, I don't.
388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do I know if an altcoin is a scam? on: July 29, 2021, 09:04:47 PM
You can check the whitepaper and search the team members but there is no guarentee in this sector at all. ( unfortunately) Even bitcoin could be scam lol. But checking dev and partners could be nice

Are you OK?
How can you say bitcoin could be scam?
Not 1 year, 2 or 3 but has managed to survive 10 good years of growth and recognition, and you said scam? You shouldn't be in Bitcointalk of you think so.
White paper isn't a guarantee, you can get scam if the team fit to once they get your trust. It has happened many times and likely to continue except in the future if there should be some kind of regulations that protects the investors.
389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best platform to use for a token offering? on: July 29, 2021, 08:59:09 PM
I hope you also know that your sales depend on what you are bring to the table and not the promotion itself. Its only sometimes an awareness about your project to other communities, crypto enthusiast and others.
For example, it's now a common thing that everyone loves anything that has Inu because :
  • They get easily pump and may likely give them return in short term.
  • The chain matter because of gas fee, retailers would avoid your project if its built on Ethereum.
This is what is driven the new project but in the other hand, if your project is solid, it may also sold out because there others out there who value quality over quantity.
390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most profitable cryptocurrency for 2021? on: July 29, 2021, 08:50:36 PM
I think it was easy for existing projects already in the market to make switch of names or add trends into their road map, that's why the were easily pump. Even the coins I never expected that were listed on good exchanges were massively pump and the holders made lots and bunch of money. I can remember how Fantom came into limelight and with the partnerships, they made 42x over just within 3 months.
It pained me so much that I miss some opportunities who j will hardly come again because real crazy pump comes when you don't expect them, not when everyone want the pump.
391  Economy / Economics / Re: EFCC launches app for online reporting of economic crimes called "Eagle Eye" on: July 28, 2021, 09:46:54 PM
This news looks more like an eyes service to appease the foreign community against corruption among the country's executives. Corruption is system and the leadership are more involved in corruption than the country at large. They control the legislative and Judiciary, even elect the leadership of these arms of Government, which makes enforcement of this law very low or ineffective
Not just the foreign communities but within in it's own nation. The new head office was appointed by the presidency and he will have to do anything to stay loyal to the cabal, that's why they are always on the news.
When was the last time everyone heard they probe the cabal? They will never and wouldn't dare do that because you can't simply just bite the finger that fed you. That's exactly how Effc looks like.
392  Economy / Economics / Re: Amazon's surface phenomenon on: July 28, 2021, 09:42:58 PM
I am not an expert but I think that this e-commerce advisor are bad in choosing the right path for the platform growth and development. What's really there in integrating bitcoin as an option in form of payment, this will not only boost their customers, but it will increase their profits and awareness to the part of nations that cannot easily access their platform but may be they fear regulation and the pressures that might comes after just the same thing that is happening in Binance today.
393  Economy / Economics / Re: Can blockchain replace the traditional banking system? on: July 28, 2021, 09:21:48 PM
There is something you need to know my friend.
Traditional financial institutions are the most corrupt set of organizations to ever exist and do you want to know why, tell them to employ blockchain for transparency, they will ignore and wouldn't want anything that will be public, they want to do everything at their way.
Banks would actually do and perform better if and if they accept blockchain and it fundamentals but I still be believe government would be limited on how they explore most of this thing as they dislike things they can't control.
394  Economy / Economics / Re: What kind type of market player you are? on: July 28, 2021, 09:15:25 PM
I'm not only an investor but also a bit of a trader. I usually make long-term investments but sometimes I prefer short-term ones also. And I make the short-term investments with altcoins rather than Bitcoin. Because I don't think that Bitcoin is very ideal for that.

Been a good trader is more profitable than investing a time. There was a period I checked my PNL on my trading portfolio and I was wow how I made 300% within 19 days and the only coin I was scalping then was SXP, thanks to their testnet news that was coming up, it boosted the market volume and many where buying.
It's good to be an investor though, there are some pumps one shouldn't dare to trade, it's better off you hold while your portfolio dances to profits.
395  Economy / Economics / Re: Will some companies like Amazon really 'store' Bitcoins? on: July 28, 2021, 09:09:47 PM
As expected, that rumor proved to be fake.

Perhaps, the whale game as usual. They will do anything to manipulate the market and I think they did this to revive the market for their dip bought. Company like Amazon wouldn't buy bitcoin and made it public, they will have done the same thing PayPal and SpaceX did when they all bought the dip but they managed to debunk the rumors.
May be in the future, they might have a change of mind, this was how PayPal rumours were going round around 2019 until 2020 when they came on board.
396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is USDT Tether safe? on: July 28, 2021, 12:36:26 AM
Few months ago, we were in tensed about USDT but later it was come to fine till now. BTW, USDT still haven't published any audited results whether they have fully backed by assets. As one of the top 3 coins in CMC, we are using USDT mostly without any problem so far.

Tether remain the largest traded stable asset worldwide despite the allegations and transparency they have encountered lately, I believe they have their purpose for not releasing the Audit on time and I also they think they fully know the consequences of not cooperating with regulatory bodies.
I have stop using tether though since it became nightmare to send coins on Ethereum chain and I don't fancy using tether on other blockchain, Tron was better but I prefer using single pkey to sign my transaction that's why I opt-in for BUSD.
397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hoping to see a bitcointalk token sooner on: July 28, 2021, 12:26:29 AM
This is a non - profit platform, it was solely designed to accommodate everyone and pass the right information for those who are new and existing members.
Thaymos has been the successor of Satoshi and I respect him so much for keeping the forum alive without any form of extortion and making money off it.
Kindly check those platforms you are talking about, the tokens are worthless, they hardly get traded since most of the time, they are given out as Airdrops. The Knowledge is enough to make steak to this forum forever and I'm enjoying every bit of it.
398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Never Trade On Emotions on: July 27, 2021, 11:59:43 PM
This kind of thing is usually done by amateur traders. they are not determined by analysis but based on emotional logic. this is very detrimental and must be completely eliminated, so in my opinion it is trading in a healthy way and good calculations
I think the ability to primarily handle your trade with risk management, the healthier and high chance of making more gain and less mistakes you come across. But sometimes, you know the market sometimes is shaky even if you add all the techniques and analysis you have gain all in the market.
For example, people where all bearish and thought the whole thing would plunge below $30k until Bword day when Elon announced his position and SpaceX on bitcoin and the whole thing revive, the same thing happened during Amazon News day. If you have taken short then, that will be huge loss.
399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Did you really miss it? on: July 27, 2021, 11:54:23 PM
Who will say they don't miss the chances of getting coins at discount, it remains one of my greatest mistakes every since I joined Cryptocurrency because I never believed the whole market would revived back so fast and since I even sold at lost made it even more painful and unforgettable event since I joined this space.
It's never too late though, if you have missed the opportunity, one can still make it right with the new coins especially those that are created by existing teams. For example, Polkadot was created by one of  previous team in Ethereum.
400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be careful what you choose to invest in now, not all coins will recover. on: July 27, 2021, 11:49:50 PM
Exactly, not every coin is going to survive the bumps and dumps in the market even many recongized coins vanished in the past due to the extreme dump so the only way is to pick the right coin for long term investment is to look up the utility and community support.

This is normal thing in every bull cycle and think an average person who witnessed 2017/18 bull run knew exactly what happened to so many projects. It took grace for even bitcoin and Ethereum to survive that bear market.
This one is even still better because of Amm embedded on decentralized exchanges. Then, since coins were only listed on Centralized exchange, they were having the challenge of no liquidity and zero volume, user restrictions but today, Uniswap, Pancakeswap and Sushi are all here to serve every coin provided that they have the capability to make liquidity.
