381  Economy / Reputation / Re: What made Spoetnik such a troll? on: November 05, 2015, 09:09:35 AM
You guys done yet ?
First off i am letting you get it out of your system.

And i will only say you are lying once..

You two shill/dummy accounts (hiding like cowards)
are sprinkling in grains of truth into lies to troll and bad mouth me.

and my step sister was mentally disabled and died in 2007 (she was 12yrs old) so i am not making fun of anyone.
if your retarded i will say your retarded.. it is what it is.

Why is Spoetnik a Troll ?
Hmm look at the last few posts ?

why waste prescious time being here if you hate alt coins so much? Your not intelligent enough to play the 'eccentric genius with the acid tongue' roll. I saw TPTB  rip you a new one in another thread ... you came off looking like a guy of average intelligence with limited real crypto investing experience and a freshly minted second anis. TPTB can play the cranky brilliant dude who educates newbies like me well ... you can't ... i think you're a sad fraud imitating someone you're  not. Get a life while you can

382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What altcoin is a good buy right now? on: November 05, 2015, 08:49:19 AM
Hello, since it seems bitcoin is going through a nice upsurge atm, what altcoin is a good buy right now ?

I'm new to trading and still have a way to go understanding it all, but I heard that altcoins generally rise when BTC rises. I got some extra BTC I could invest in an altcoin atm. Maybe litecoin?

Thnx

LTC if you make it. NXT if you don't.

LTC is more likely to follow BTC's surge if it continues to go up to 1000 USD Karpeles style.

Avoid NXT.  It's trending down to who knows how low.

Avoid NXT ... now is the time to buy! Once InstantDEX launches Chinese $$ will be all over it, and recent dumps from 2013 whales are (almost) finished, so from here on its all about tech, and in that department nothing rivals NXT
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperNET trades on Poloniex as UNITY, asset id 12071612744977229797 on: November 04, 2015, 02:22:42 AM
Maybe I was unclear by saying the user adoption issue is solved. I didnt mean that we have millions of users now! What I meant to say was that it is now possible to obtain millions of users, while before the chrome app it was not possible. We just need a slew of popular apps, say like games.

Now the vast majority of funds are still in the SuperNET accounts, though the bear market has whittled down the fiat value. The burn rate for SuperNET is on the low side and we can last for years on the funds raised. We are developing what we said we would, yes delays on release due to the increasing scope of the project. Since most large software projects are delayed, again this seems not anything specific to SuperNET. And we are doing tech that has never been done before so any strict timeline has never been issued

As to your claim that we will never get mass adoption. All I can say is that never is a very long time, and you are premature in concluding that SuperNET wont achieve scale.

James

Now you're talking my language! Grated that I'm only low-level amateurish when it comes to tech, but I have a fair bit of experience watching the mining-exploration industry.

The most valuable tip I ever got in re exploration stocks was from my dad. He said, focus on the exploration stocks that are getting close to developing and opening a mine. Because exploration is all speculation from the $$$ point of view, there's a lot of excitement and disappointment there. Now to mention an exploitable pattern, which my dad taught me about.

There are exploration stocks that skyrocket on exciting drilled-rock-sample results. That's the time when you should sell (if you have any of the stock) because that excitement always accompanies impatience. The kind of impatience that inevitably precedes disappointment, bitterness, and a mass jump onto the next exciting train.

Funnily enough, the exploration companies that are in it for the distance - who have an economically-worthy project that they keep developing into a real, paying mine - tend to sell for much lower than they were when most everyone was excited at their great drilling results. That's because they become boring. There's no "story," no excitement to get punters ginned up....just slow, laborious, boring progress towards that goal. Boredom, boredom boredom...until the company gets to the point of a "bankable feasibility study" that says their project is economically viable. At that point, the only major hurdle - except for the time-consuming environmental-assessment and permitting process - is getting ahold of enough capital to bring the mine into production. Once that final (difficult) hurdle is achieved, the formerly high-risk company becomes low-risk.

Through this model - and through buying the stock only when the bloom of excitement is off the still-growing rose - I've made some money on the penny-stock market. Himself, my dad has made a lot of money. All from knowing how to "play the excitement cycle." As a bonus, doing it this way means automatically screening out the large majority of exploration companies whose projects never get beyond the drill-sampling phase.

Now I know that I'm using an analogy, one that's questionable in several places, but the analogy is a good match for the excitement-to-disappointment cycle that prevails in both exploration and cryptocurrency: in truth, for any asset market where a large majority of projects have only speculative value. Both are permeated by the same excitement and boom-town glamour - and both are also permeated by disappointment, rancour and bitterness.

So please keep up doing the boring but necessary development work! This non-techie is quietly rooting for ya.  Smiley

Good analogy. Supernet has very good funding model too, so i think it can survive bear market and thrive in bull,

Lack of hype is a definite plus

Plenty of interest in this area.

Crypto-Torrents is the next big crypto thing. Without any shadow of doubt.

Hope vTorrent gets there first.

Second place = first looser.

Is LBRY a coin? How do the developers get paid?
385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT Launches Marketing Project, Codenamed “Project Tennessee” on: October 26, 2015, 11:13:27 AM
Is there any real use of NXT? Can we purchase goods with it?

Yes, many assets for sale on asset exchange, so real shares in business ventures. Some scams of course, but many legitimate securities too. Open platform so buyer must do their research
386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [EMUNIE] The first news interview on: October 23, 2015, 12:06:16 PM
In case anyone is interested over here, an interview (the first no less) with me has been published at

http://www.newsbtc.com/2015/10/18/in-conversation-with-emunie-founder-dan-hughes/

In the interview I discuss the trials and tribulations, the tech, the vision, the future Smiley  Its quite long, kinda got carried away with the questions but wanted to be thorough.

Thanks to the NewsBTC team for taking the time out to do it and sift through my waffling Smiley

Great read, i understand what all the fuss is about now, emunie could be the ONE
387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: The Official Mastercoin Foundation, Master Protocol & Mastercoin Thread on: October 23, 2015, 11:41:48 AM
I'm a crypto newbie and discovered mastercoin recently, and learnt that it was the first crypto 2.0 project, and raised a ton of funds. What happened? why is mastercoin doing so poorly compared to the competition? I don't mean to sound rude, just genuinely interested in piecing together what happened. I appreciate people are probably still working to make mastercoin a success in the future, but something must have gone wrong somewhere in the early days to lose first mover advantage and all the ico funds.
The designated leader of this project didnt have the ability or skill to actually deliver. We see it time and again on other coin projects.....many words, much delusion.

Was there a community take over? Who is working on things now?

With all that money available someone must have done ok

Seems like vtr dev is his own man, and doesn't need to satisfy anyone but himself ... i like that approach.

A bit like the qora dev in many ways

Andreas A. is asked about bitcoin's fungibility : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ak1iojpiHpM&feature=youtu.be&t=33m9s

He thinks it is an issue worth addressing. Perhaps it is more important than "The Block Size" debate.

Good talk! Noticeable NXT banner on the stage too, shame there wasn't a Monero one too.

Only two alts worth anything imo

394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT dying? on: August 16, 2015, 08:21:21 AM
NXT is not dying.  But growth has been stagnant.  The question you should be asking is how many years can the project last with almost zero growth.

Quite a few, no wages, devs very committed

The low price finally puts to rest all the jealously around the IPO  73, everyone in crypto has opportunity to buy 100k NXT for their hodl savings, no excuses at this price
395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: August 04, 2015, 03:26:32 AM
Which users on this forum are bcn developers? Do they ever speak?

Ullo is one and yes he does post.

@Ullo, can you direct me to any previous posts or blog's etc where the allegations against bytecoin fraud have been addressed?
Thanks

399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are cryptocoin economies entering a deflationary phase ? on: August 04, 2015, 02:39:17 AM
What economy?  Grin

To be serious, no new money is coming in.  Most of the 'dumb' money already went to the sharks, so we need more fish in the pond to make the 'economy' grow.  But I personally don't see it happening in a while.

I expect some nerd money to enter xmr ecosystem once cryptokingdom launches, then that will start a suction effect from some lesser coins into monero .

Coin eating other coins to survive
