381  Economy / Economics / Re: Big Reasons Why Many Families Are Feeling Extreme Financial Stress on: May 04, 2017, 05:38:42 PM
It's pretty much already explained in the article. Inflation every year, price of goods keep rising but the wages is stagnant or increase but can't keep up with the inflation. Families must be smart to address this, either they search for another income, change their lifestyle or move somewhere else with lower cost of living. If you want to live in big city, then you must bear with the stress if you do nothing to address it. It's not only in us, my country is the same as the wage barely or sometimes can't cover the living cost.

In democracies, they also have another choice - vote for parties which can keep inflation down. Unfortunately, economic issues don't occupy centre stage in elections. They get lost in the noise.
382  Economy / Economics / Re: The fastest and safest way of finding bitcoin nature? on: May 03, 2017, 06:52:52 AM
Does anyone know how fastest way to securely search for bitcoins without the greatest risk of losing, surely every one has a different experience in finding bitcoin let's share it here?

Finding bitcoins? This isn't Pokemon Go. Bitcoin = Money.
You don't find bitcoins; you earn them.
383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: May 03, 2017, 06:50:36 AM
Much needed win for DD.. and best part is remaining 5 out of 6 games are in their home ground...
lets see if they can pull the blunder
It is quite interesting to see Delhi pull up a victory against Hyderabad ,the spinners bowled really well for both the teams but Delhi has to stop leaking boundaries and they have to improve their fielding and Hyderabad will learn from their mistake by dropping a bowler ,Corey Anderson played really well and they planned really well on facing the spin of Rashid Khan as they did not take much risk while he is bowling and took control with the rest of the bowlers.

Feel sorry for Yuvaraj. He played a good knock and 185 is a good T20 score. But unfortunately for Hyderabad, it wasn't enough to stop Delhi.
A team effort led by Karun Nair and Corey Anderson pulled Delhi through.
384  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Bitfinex situation - how long will it take? on: May 03, 2017, 06:46:34 AM
Why isn't Bitfinex experiencing a run on its bitcoins? People could just convert their fiat which is 'stuck' into bitcoins and withdraw them.
Are people greedy because the exchange rates at Bitfinex are higher?
385  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia has drastically increased its military spending over the past 10 years on: May 03, 2017, 06:44:31 AM
If war does break out, you really don't care if Russia wins or NATO wins. The world will be a big loser.
And it doesn't matter if your wealth is in bitcoins or in gold, there is a chance that you may not be alive to enjoy it.
386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: May 02, 2017, 02:57:01 AM
All thanks to Ben stokes wonderful century and MSD, Christian's Cameo, RPS is now back in the league. They've got a good chance to come back and make a position in the qualifiers now.
Even KXIP has a chance in next match to make this season qualifiers. Lions about challengers are officially out from today and Daredevils were already.
Ben Stokes single handily took the game away from Gujarat Lions by scoring a wonderful century and if not for his innings they could have lost the match as they started loosing wickets right from the start as they lost three wickets with ten runs on the board and then Stokes started a counter attack and finished off the match with a ball to spare.

The 161 score of Gujarat Lions was not too strong, but they defended well initially. With Pune reduced to 42/4, Gujarat Lions would have been favourites. But the counterattack of Ben Stokes was too much for Lions to handle. Stokes single handedly won the match for Pune.
387  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looks like we have set a new ATH at $1,377 on: May 02, 2017, 02:54:23 AM
Don't know exactly which exchange to look at as far as the price goes.  My little cell phone wallet uses Bitstamp, and right now it's at $1349, but some people are saying it's way over that.  This is like Mt. Cocks in 2014 all over again.

When we get to $1400, then we'll throw a party, eh?  The thousand marks are the milestone ones.

Try looking at coinmarketcap. It gives a weighted average price across exchanges. And it excludes exchanges which have zero transaction fees.
The price is well and truly over $1400. You can start your party.
388  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and Africa on: May 02, 2017, 02:52:46 AM
The emergence of crytocurrencies and bitcoin being the most known would further impoverished the African continent for a longer time.
One do not get acquainted, follow up with global innovations and happenings without being educated and as such, internet compliance .
Thus, education and the use of internet would be a debacle to how far the poor in Africa would embrace the crptos.
Hence , the rich, knowledgeable would keep 'swimming in wealth' .

Not really. Such pathbreaking innovations help countries 'leapfrog' in their adoption. This could actually act as a leveller.
Even in countries where telephone network is not strong, mobile phones are prevalent.
389  Economy / Economics / Re: what would if you were to destroy every bitcoin mining operation in the world? on: May 01, 2017, 11:07:21 AM
There is a question of what will happen to mining operations after all 21 million bitcoins are mined.

That could be the closest thing we'll see to your scenario.

According to http://www.bitcoinblockhalf.com/ there are 4,696,675 left to mine before we hit the cap.

This is not related to the OP's question. Op is talking about mining operations being shut down, due to some bug in the code, or due to network failure. When all bitoins are mined, the network will still function with transaction fees taking over.
390  Economy / Speculation / Re: Which one to buy? Stocks Houses Gold or Bitcoin or Bonds? on: May 01, 2017, 11:05:22 AM
Apparently none of those according to zerohedge:
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-04-29/last-remaining-cheap-asset

The article does not mention bitcoin since it is an highly speculative asset but it says that every other asset out there already overpriced because of the FED's money printing policy. Every other asset but "grain".
It doesn't make sense to me to fill my home with grain bags though it might become handy in wwIII.

If all assets are overpriced, Bitcoin is too. Because of quantitative easing, money has flown into almost all assets.
The only reason why grain prices haven't taken off is that governments will not allow a basic need like food to become very expensive.
391  Economy / Economics / Re: The Rise of Pegged Cryptocurrency on: May 01, 2017, 11:01:46 AM
1. How important is the role that cryptocurrencies like Tether.to will play in the blockchain economy.
2. How is it possible to build real business that rely on a stable trading environment to make profit.
3. Is everyone going to create their own pegged token in the future.
4. Would you trade your bitcoin into a pegged token if you were guaranteed 5% every 30 days

I'm very interested in your feed back.

Pegged currencies are important, only because of the restrictions placed by governments on exchanges which touch fiat. Hence they play an important role for traders who want to book profits on crypto-only exchanges. Otherwise, I see limited utility for them.
392  Economy / Economics / Re: Next generation money on: April 22, 2017, 04:05:19 PM
Yes it is entirely new concept in the world of money. Bitcoin is so powerful that we can trade any amount of volume via its medium. This transaction is still safe and anonymous with no big fees and surcharges as that applied by your own bank. New generation would always want hassle free transaction which bitcoin is already providing. Bitcoin gives you freedom of time. No matter what you can transact any amount of money overseas, locally and personally. This is something sounds like new generation stuff and yes it is.  Wink

I wouldn't say that Bitcoin offers hassle free transactions, especially right now. With the huge backlog of transactions and debate about block size, we are in fluid territory right now. But yes, Bitcoin does have potential.
393  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Central Banks Losing Control? on: April 22, 2017, 03:53:17 PM
They are losing control because people are losing faith in them.
When this happens, more and more people will turn to gold. Or to Bitcoin - the digital gold.
394  Economy / Speculation / Re: The question is when: Bitcoin at $2000. 2017 or 2018? on: April 22, 2017, 03:51:08 PM
only is a matter of time. we will see Bitcoin at $2000 in 2017 or 2018?

If we don't make an end to all this scaling nonsense (which isn't very likely as BU is only growing in support), there is no way we will see the $2000 level. I honestly don't mind the price to remain at current levels for the rest of this year (obviously, pump addicts will not agree with this). Mainly due to the fact that in order to justify this level of growth, Bitcoin must be able to handle the demand at least in an appropriate manner (which isn't the case now). Demand for block space exceeds that what Bitcoin can offer right now, and that must change.

BU gaining additional support could just be the trigger required for resolution of the blocksize debate.
Once this is settled, I think we can reach $2000 in a few months.
395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: April 22, 2017, 03:48:24 PM
Mumbai are in trouble against Delhi today. They have lost 5 wickets for 94 runs and don't have too many overs left.
Delhi will win easily if Mumbai put up a sub-150 score today.
396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: April 20, 2017, 04:07:03 PM
Today Mumbai Indians have more chance to win but winning toss is very important. So Toss decides the match result as chasing team have more chance to winning because fielding 2nd with dew in ground has favor of chasing team.Punjab is wasting the batting power. Bowlers are also not good performance. Mumbai has Both batting & bowling.

I don't think it is going to be an easy win because Punjab team also quite good this time. In this short format game just only one or two players need to score good runs then the whole match will turn to the other side. That's why this short format game is so popular in cricket. I believe today both teams got equal chance to win the match.

I just hope that KXIP wins today, just to spice things up in the IPL tournament. Mumbai Indians already got 8 points and one more win will make their way easy towards the qualifiers.
60/1 after 8.3 overs, KXIP can make a good defendable score from now and they have a moderate bowling side so let's see who knows what may happen..

Hashim Amla has scored a brilliant century. It is not often that centuries are scored in T20 games.
Punjab have scored an imposing 198. It won't be easy to overhaul this.
397  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 20, 2017, 04:05:52 PM

The positive is that Bitcoin's price has not nosedived following the announcement.
When people can withdraw cryptocurrencies from Bitfinex, it really doesn't matter.
398  Economy / Economics / Re: Future of Bitcoin Economics on: April 20, 2017, 01:39:16 AM
future depends on our bitcoin users bitcoin.

That is the reason I use bitcoin whenever possible. That is the real transaction helping the bitcoin economy.

That is a noble thing to do. But please also make sure that you purchase bitcoins on exchanges, to replace the bitcoins that you have spent.
It is probable that the merchant who accepts your bitcoins will sell them and convert to fiat.
399  Economy / Speculation / Re: "The price of your bitcoin is 1000 times overvalued" on: April 20, 2017, 01:36:25 AM
So a Bitcoin should actually be worth $1? That is ridiculous.
Some millionaires like Draper would be able to buy up all the bitcoins in the world. That is not going to happen any time soon.
400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: April 20, 2017, 01:33:24 AM
Really disappointed with the performance of DD and their captaincy as they need to push players like Chris Morris in a situation they were in as he had chased down scores in the past for South Africa and with the form he is in,he could have taken the side home with a victory if he could face some balls.Kane Williamson really played well for Sunrisers Hyderabad and he must be in the team on a regular basis as he is a talented striker .

After Sunrisers scored 191, the result of the match was never in question. But Kudos to Delhi for getting close. Iyer scored a fine 50, helping the Daredevils get within 15 runs of the score.
