It's all about managing your customers investors victims.

If the people that they've ripped off would just stop trying to vocalize about it...

My own preference would be to skip the .002 part and go str8 to the .008 part, but that's certain to require input from our friendly neighborhood ASIC overlords.
383  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs 30 day countdown to the end of September on: September 09, 2013, 02:30:44 PM
So what happens if BFL misses their own end-of-September backlog clearing date?  Nothing.  It's all sound and fury signifying nothing.

Correct. Worse, Josh will then point to a hope + dream phrase built into his statement that renders said statement absolutely irrelevant. Every statement the man releases is peppered with weasel clauses that can later be pointed to as rendering the balance of his words meaningless.

BFL: We've scheduled shipments for October! HONEST. ABE!

Yes, but were any products actually fit into that schedule? Uh no...not so much. However you absolutely cannot prove that they DID NOT schedule shipments.

Creative, I agree that the shares should have been locked. But at the same time, and this is an honest question, were your Basic shares locked in any way so you couldn't take advantage of them? Is there any other offering who locked their shares? So while it could be said that it looks dodgy of Labcoin, it's kind of dodgy that anyone can do it at all.

Nope. It's not in my contract and I never said I'd do as much. I don't know if there are any other offerings that have locked their shares.

Like the missed self imposed deadline thing, LC is their own worst enemy here because they said they'd do something but did not.

Is it in the labcoin contract? If so, maybe we could approach Burnside on those grounds?

It is not. We have only their word that they'd do so.

Who do you plan to discuss them with?

Posters other than yourself it seems.

Where will the answers be coming from?

Again, and this is very, very simple, there is much uncertainty in these markets.

You can handle it, or in your case, obviously you cannot.

There's no good reason to bring it up over and over other than a perverse need to spread your doubt to others.

You will not be getting the answers you seek.

There's so much (mis)judgement in this section that a response seems pointless. Have you been elected thread spokesperson without my noticing? ...or voting?

Discuss things, here? You've had too much Birthday cheer, already!  Smiley

 Cheesy

It's not even 10am here. I have yet to begin to defile myself!
389  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: September 09, 2013, 01:39:32 PM
<sigh>

Crickets then? There were questions in there, I did not intend them to be rhetorical.

Discussion board...or cheerleader vs troll battleground. You decide.

Just because somebody says something that's counter to your financial position(and theirs) does not mean they're trying to spread FUD, troll, or manipulate. Can we at least entertain the wild notion that some wish to discuss things? ...at least some of the time?

I'd actually consider it(I'm a hockey freak) if they had a 2nd amendment or the Canuck equivalent. Think they'd mind if I brought one of my own with? :p

I suddenly had vision of you (which is kinda crazy, since I don't know how you look) holding standing aside hashing unit in one hand and gun assault rifle in other one at the ready, protecting hardware and yourself from post-apo freaks  Grin

FTFY Grin

Perhaps the thread title is a source of confusion.

If someone "asks" the same questions over and over when they know there are no answers forthcoming, they're spreading FUD.

Bring it up once, let it go.

There's a lot of uncertainty in these markets.  That's how it is. If you can't handle it, this isn't the place for you.

Do you NOT see the relevance of LC founders failing to lock their shares right now? TODAY? Through their own actions this situation is A+ primo perfect for share price manipulation. Just burying your head in the sand and ignoring this fact does not change it. There's a danger here for investors that could easily have been avoided.

Did you take out your Labcoin holdings? I was under the impression you hold a large about of Labcoin and are wanting more.

...the answer is no. I have zero personal shares, but my company has 5k, which is obviously not a large amount. I have no intention of increasing this amount. I want LC to succeed, but I will not under any circumstances join the cheer squad.

I've found my best investing results are achieved when emotion is removed from the equation.

I know TMI, but I'm tired of fielding this stuff, and the public stuff is NOTHING compared to the PMs which are outright abusive.

It's not cold yet, I'm still running active cooling(AC) on our gear. 87f today, 92f tomorrow, 63f on Friday. Wild weather swings are how we roll up here.

Cheers.

We ran short of M-boards due to the factory shortage of parts I mentioned.  I had hoped they would pick up the slack in production, but the break in production was felt last week when the shipment finally arrived from AK customs with no M-boards.  According to tracking, we only expect 12 tomorrow.  Every starter kit we send out takes 16 slots from the mine.  We have 54 starters left to ship.

A cost analysis shows that we would lose over 20TH if we ship out of the mine - taking over 800 cards out of the picture, which does not work well from a financial perspective.

The solution is to dedicate four rigs to a separate mining account and then send each customer their share of the coin once we ship.  Of course the customer will not pay a hosting fee or their share of power.  I have already repointed the hashpower to this dedicated account: https://www.btcguild.com/api.php?api_key=23fcc6a0f8292fe394b1706da8c0d304

As soon as we ship these units, we will distribute the coin accordingly.  Thanks for your patience on this - please look for an email requesting your payment address before you send it to us.

Best,
Dave

Very impressed with how they're handling problems and communicating with customers.

BitFury surely looks like "The Next Asicminer" :-) P.S. Didn't you say, you won't care about hashrates and bitcoins and stuff on your birthday?  Grin

I lied? Wink

...would you believe wishful thinking?

NOTE: This does not apply to bASIC-Mining's order, we have an order for October delivery which still appears to be on schedule at this time. I'm merely expressing my satisfaction with which they're treating their customers for August delivery.

THANKS! Looks pretty rich. Smiley I'll have to save it for later when I can cut the sweet with something fermented as it's 8am here.

Historically speaking, suspending your critical thinking skillz or your objectivity while investing in crypto securities has been an expensive proposition. When people say they will do something and then don't do it there's a reason. That reason is often procrastination, but when there's money on the line there are additional motivators and these should not be glossed over.
