381  Other / Meta / Re: Tomatocage - A Final Message To You (& For Everyone Misusing Trust System) on: March 23, 2015, 06:42:20 PM
I further edited the verbiage of my rating. It was a little harsh, so I diluted it somewhat. I believe that you had originally left that negative rating for Vod (the one with the 21 BTC risked amount) and then deleted it. There's nothing wrong with that. I frequently leave ratings which I later remove or recalibrate later on down the road. Just be honest about it, it's not that big a deal. IMHO you selling MSDN keys/invites isn't that big a deal either, it's just that we've seen so many cases where these types of trades have taken a turn for the scammy that it's hard to look at new sellers coming onto the forum and not think that something might be amiss.

@Vod: I would have left it, but the thing is he did remove his original rating. Just wish he'd be more forthcoming about it.
382  Other / Meta / Re: Tomatocage - A Final Message To You (& For Everyone Misusing Trust System) on: March 23, 2015, 06:21:34 PM
I changed it to neutral because I reconsidered your situation and, after consideration of others' opinions on the matter, I thought it's more befitting than an outright negative rating. As I've said before, my ratings aren't set in stone unless there's an exceedingly clear case of fraud. Please feel free to leave a counter-rating for me, but avoid embellishment and make it as clear as possible.
383  Other / Meta / Re: I've got accused of scamming - Thanks Vod - Suggestion for the future on: March 23, 2015, 05:33:01 PM
Let me tell you one thing. He's a dick Smiley

I hope this summarises everything.

Don't blame Vod. You're the one that snitched on SellMaster3000.
384  Other / Meta / Re: VOD - Abusing Trust System on: March 23, 2015, 05:28:07 PM
Vod may be a bit liberal with his down-ratings, but in your case I believe it's accurate. You tried to claim a negative rating for him, indicating a 21 BTC risked amount, which you later deleted. Then you claimed you would donate 19 BTC to charity, which is another lie (and probably multiple lies, since I suspect you don't even have 19 BTC to begin with).
385  Economy / Digital goods / Re: ★★★ SELLING ★★★ STARBUCKS eGIFT CARD 25% ★★★ on: March 22, 2015, 06:16:03 AM
Bullshit gift cards. I bought some cards from this guy using alt accounts, just to test them out. ALL cards went bad within 1-2 weeks. OP, can you explain why they went bad if they were obtained legitimately?
386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any bitcoin-turned-millionaires here? on: March 21, 2015, 06:19:19 PM
No idea what you're talking about, man. I lost all my gold/silver/Bitcoins in a boating accident.

389  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying BTC with Paypal on: March 19, 2015, 09:55:52 PM
Just open up a Circle.com account and get verified. Once you're set up, it's so much faster/safer/cheaper than PayPal for buying BTC.
390  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling up too 2 btc for paypal or wu on: March 19, 2015, 05:32:10 PM
wtf why is this pos dude tomatocage or watever giving me bad feedback i have never ever did a deal with that pos

Because you're a broke dick scammer. Why don't you go stick to scamming with WoW gold or Starbucks gift cards? This section is for people with real money who actually want to trade.

You are faster than me! Smiley I suggest to put PGP too. It can also be used for recovering. I was searching for a place where the poster can't edit or delete the post. I found posts in auction and related sub-boards can't be edited but can be deleted. It would be good if admin can block editing and deleting of posts in this thread by poster 1 day(24 hrs) after the post was made, if SMF supports it.

Also, there were posts made in Reputation which contains PGP key and/or BTC address but it is now in Archival. I think Archival would be good place and editing & deleting of posts in Archival should be blocked IMHO.

Sounds like a good idea.

How about Auction section? I think I read somewhere that it doesn't allow editing posts.

I thought about that, but it didn't make my short list of sub-forums to post this thread in since this thread might be off-topic for that section. It boiled down to Meta or the Reputation sections and I took a stab that Meta probably gets more eyeballs than Reputation Smiley
395  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Account Hacked and Return by Admins on: March 19, 2015, 09:39:18 AM
Mousepotato got her account hacked and was sold by Subud! (claimed to have bought it for 1 BTC) and then sold the account to a user named escrow.pm for 1.2 BTC, who claimed he was only going to use the account to serve as escrow for traders. Yeah I'm sure that would have worked out great. Anyway, she didn't have any publicly posted BTC address that she could have signed, but since I know her IRL, I vouched that her account did indeed get hacked. Based upon that and perhaps a bit of a war with Goat over 400+ BTC she was owed, Theymos was able restore her account and the PMs that the hacker wiped. PMs that she needed to prove that Goat did indeed owe her a fair bit of BTC.

BTW, I just posted a thread here in Meta for staking your Bitcoin address so that in the event where your account gets hacked, you could simply sign the address you posted in that thread to prove that you are the owner of said account:

Stake your Bitcoin address here
396  Other / Meta / Stake your Bitcoin address here on: March 19, 2015, 09:32:41 AM
I'm not sure if there's another thread for this already, or if this belongs in a different section. So basically I thought it would be helpful to post up your Bitcoin address in this thread in the event that your account gets compromised later on down the road. You can simply make a new alt account, sign the address that your original account posted here, and have irrefutable proof that you're the actual owner. It's not 100% guaranteed that you'll get your account back, but it's a pretty good start. Of course, if your account is compromised, the hacker could just come back to this thread and edit/delete whatever address you post here, so that's why I'm asking people to quote the address posted by the preceding user in this thread. Here's mine:

IMHO the most likely scenario is that they were damaged during shipping, unintentionally or otherwise. If someone is really out to scam, they wouldn't ship anything at all.

I hope you use escrow this time.
would you escrow us?

Yes, but I don't have access to my escrow box right now. If you could wait another 5hrs or so from now, I'll be more than happy to help facilitate this deal.
400  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: have Paypal need 1 bitcoin on: March 18, 2015, 05:31:56 PM
need 1 bitcoin will pay with paypal
please pm me

Careful, man. You're going to get all kinds of PMs from brand-new accounts (3 months old or less, generally) who will be happy to trade with you. They're going to tell you that you have to send PayPal first, using the excuse that "You can always reverse the charge if I don't send you 1.00 BTC". However, what happens is that after they get your PayPal payment, they'll offload the funds to another account or to a VCC and cash out and you'll never hear from them again (or at the very most, they'll keep coming up with excuses on why they haven't sent yet).

Either that or you actually get the 1.00 BTC and you charge back later on down the road.
