381  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price getting smashed - only positive are traders that went short on: February 04, 2015, 08:49:49 AM
Well, permabulls stand there, pants down, proven wrong, likely financially broke. Really a sad bunch of people.

The victims of the hype.
382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 20MB Fork on: February 04, 2015, 08:34:16 AM
I think this hardfork is intended to open doors for constant hardforks - like every few months a fork so they can do how they are pleased.
They want it to be routine to be able to do what they want with it - with central control of course. It's the attrition-strategy.

Gavin lost my trust btw.

Long live the forums. If you don't like it, leave. Join the rotting community of alternative solutions.

i think this thread was moved by mods here. It was originally in altcoins. So your argument is invalid as always.

It really amazes me how many people have voted against Bitcoin in the poll at the top of this thread to instead create Gavincoin.

yes, people vote for ending bitcoin it seems...

It really amazes me how many people have voted against Bitcoin in the poll at the top of this thread to instead create Gavincoin.

Really?  I was amazed (and delighted) that the 'anti' crowd got over 20% given the amplitude and efforts in the opposite direction.

There is a suggestion that there is a bit of 'astroturfing' going on by interests who want Bitcoin to bloat for whatever reason or set of reasons.  I personally would not rule it out, but I've seen no hard evidence of such either.  I will say that if someone hired me to produce a strategy to 'control the threat' of Bitcoin at about the time it was used to throw Wikileaks a life-preserver I would have cultivated a healthy crop of rather mature operatives on this forum by this time.

And, of course, most of them would have visited this thread by this time if only to cast a vote.  (I'm not going to fire up my various sock puppets to cast an 'anti' vote because I would find it less than classy.)

The poll is likely faked. Yes, astroturf

Still so bullish?

simple answer: 'a lot' is when you can move the market

Hey insidertrading, I wouldn't be discouraging questions. The meat of your post is spot on (investigate, learn, make own conclusions) but the spirit of community and learning is to encourage questions and foster learning. I say, ask away.

There is a place for speculation, it's kinda the fun part of talking about Uno once  you're clear on the fundamentals. (Of course, as you clearly note, speculation is no basis for clear decision making!)

I just noticed him asking the same over and over again and his question was answered a few times but he keeps asking so i thought maybe this other advise helps Wink

Sorry, didn't want to discourage anyone from questions.
390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: February 04, 2015, 07:21:39 AM
Welcome, SoldatChristi!

I don't think $10 is at all an unreasonable call. (How embarrassing that it costs 4 Aussie Dollars Shekels to buy 1 Uno today!)

at the same rate in 12 months where do you see uno?...I wonder why so many people are sleeping on this coin...

maybe so many people are sleeping on this coin because it's the sleeper-coin Wink

What you want to get out of people? They can't tell you a thing you wouldn't be able to find yourself. And nobody can tell you the future. Don't be so lazy and just read this and the old thread, look at the metrics and think for yourself.

And when you're at it look at bitcoin fundamentals too. Maybe to get it you need some basic understanding about what 'money' is and why precious metals have value.

You must be still young, right? Best is to not take advice from others but make own conclusions and act on those.

I'm hearing rumors this coin would be the last straw for cryptocoins in the event of failure of bitcoin which becomes more likely every day. What does the community think about this statement?
And why is it still so relatively cheap if that was true?
First, welcome to the thread! We're glad you're here!

Second, let me say that I am agreement with your statement, because of $UNO's unique characteristics, it is an excellent cryptographic backstop for when BTC ultimately fails.  For anecdotal purposes, I always like to ask new thread members how they came to be familiar with Unobtanium, our favourite coin. How did you come to know $UNO?

While I do not believe myself personally qualified to answer your second question, I know that others will promptly respond.

How i found Uno? I knew longtime it existed and always had some in my portfolio. It has never been a disappointment so far. Recently is dawned on me Bitcoin is just too plentiful to be worth a lot. And now look again at UNO as it shows some remarkable performance in comparison.

The question 'why so cheap?' has apparently become obsolete  Cheesy

Maybe we can really see some sort of migration to this coin soon.

394  Economy / Speculation / Re: All the people waiting for the next halving: Please explain on: January 15, 2015, 11:58:30 AM
a halving doesn't create a bubble - it just gives the whales an excuse to pump and dump the shit out of it.

Because the price is way undervalued right now.

Why should it be so? Because you are believing so? The price is what it is and it's in the correct place otherwise it would be another price. It's totally not under value. It's actually still quite expensive.

We all love it when it pumps but you really should be banned from this section Elwar. Your comments are repetitive and really do not enrich the discussion. You have been talking people all year into holding during the downtrend so please spare us the repetive comments even if it would be pumping now. It's really unbearable. You're annoying the hell out of everyone with a brain.
Go to general section and preach it there ... where i don't have to read it.

Or you could put me on ignore like I did to you.

To da moon?

not on ignore and not to the moon  Cool  Tongue

sgbett because of your permabullishness we'll have to dump again. As long as you haven't sold we can't pump, sorry mate.

397  Economy / Speculation / Re: So.... Who sold at 160$? on: January 15, 2015, 10:48:26 AM
I wonder as well, are people selling at loss, or are early adopters cashing out?

Yesterday morning's dump happened in about two minutes. I expect it was people panic selling (at a loss).

you don't loose if you manage to rebuy lower

Everything happened so fast that I guess it would be mostly down to luck who managed to rebuy lower and who didn't manage it.

you have to be ahead of the market of course. If this doesn't dump hard soon i'll start to worry about my bear-ass  Tongue

Doomsayers were at an all time loud. Gifs of slaughtered bulls were flowing across all threads.  Troll accounts were working over time. Bid sum was anemic, whale waters were still.

Did you sell at 160? Confess!

Nice thread. It isn't over yet. You could get rekt at any given moment. All it takes is the okcoin-whale to take a shit on you predictable permabulls  Tongue
400  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dead cat dance on: January 15, 2015, 10:29:33 AM
How come the thread title got changed from "Dead cat bounce" to "Dead cat dance", or am I imagining it changed?

It didn't change. There must be 2 threads. I think 'dance' is more appropriate  Tongue
