381  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs 30 day countdown to the end of September on: September 11, 2013, 07:13:09 PM

Latest news from Joshua at BFL:

BFL is outsourcing Jalapeno production to a 3rd party company and it is taking time to transfer the process.

Other products are not outsourced and "we are expanding manufacturing capacity for other lines in house"

"The goal is still to get through April orders by the end of September"

"We will have shipped all 65nm products before we begin shipping Monarch Products"

###end of quotes###

So for those keeping score, the quote that he wanted to get through July by end of September is no longer the deal.

The new deal is "through April" , in my mind, "to April means April 1st, through April means April 30th"

So they have shed a portion of orders to Monarch upgrades, and now moved Jalapenos to a 3rd party.

That leaves LS, Singles and Mini-Rigs to get out.

Still don't see it happening. Just my opinion.

Well, until Lab_Rat comes up with something of his own...

http://labratstats.herokuapp.com/

Note, the pool is calculating this hashrate based on submitted shares, so it is subject to good/bad luck of the miner and therefore fluctuates a bit.

Nice. Thanx!

OK so i ordered a Jall base model on the 23rd of june 2013 and i ordered the upgrade a week later.

just checked the BFL Blog and....

Jalapenos 4.5 and 5 gh/s: Feb 12-14, 2013 no Jallys shipped today

have they halted production on the upgraded units?

Dear Techkojj,

To address your concern, production of jalapenos have not been halted, and we have been producing them at very high-speed since the beginning (as it's easier to assemble).

Thanks,
Nasser

Hi Nasser!

First- I dont have any jally orders.

Second - Maybe you have balls to answer:

Full Speed? When we all said to Josh  "shut up and go to send our asics" we didnt mean "go to assemble some line of easiest and fastest-to-assemble product". Its clearly doenst work:

Jalapenos 4.5 and 5 gh/s: Feb 12-14, 2013 no Jallys shipped today

So whats the matter? Sorry, Nasser, Can i use Josh style? You are so complete idiots that after getting:
1) 6x power consumption, so totally failed with chips. FAIL (Your fail, Nasser? Are you really engineer?)
2) "products" are loud as my friends harley  STILL FAIL WITH CHIPS
3) delay about 1 year SOME ON BFL IS BRAIN DAMAGED?
4) Why 1 men - Burnin - have done better work than whole you BFL?

you cant even be polite with customers? You josh is really some braindamaged idiot with no respect.

Jody seems to be also from some "wonderland". If you company have claimed that PRODUCTS (not product line) will ship by paydate, then HOW jalopenos can be shipped 12-14 Feb? Is Jody so stupid that she cannot check what was the paydate of latest shipped Jalopeno? Or they are "in production"?
OH NOW I KNOW WHY WE CANNOT GET UNITS AMOUNT SHIPPED BY DAY,  YOU ARE VERY BAD WITH NUMBERS.

You? You are currently live on mars with Curiosity as your friend, cos you still say:
Quote
production of jalapenos have not been halted

Also this forum is only place, where i can write all this, because you delete all posts like this, idiots.

So, questions after this "intro":
1) Can we get a report, how much and what units have been shipped by every day from last 2 weeks?
2) By current shipping speed, when REALLY every product line will touch 1st of April 2013 order date shipping. Or you can say how much units and what units is currently ordered but not delivered.

If you cannot answer ever those 2 simple question: Get lost from this forum, post your bullshit on your forum.
384  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: September 10, 2013, 06:47:07 PM
I feel like we've had a lack of communication this week.  Especially seeing as how if Bit Fury is shipping, we should be seeing some decent increases in hashrate, between hardware purchases and contracted hardware.  While it's nice to see pictures and all, it would be nicer if the level of communication increased, if only on the "Such and such added to the hashrate today."  If you want to keep selling shares, Lab Rat, you need to keep up the communication of hashrate increses.  Hell, just updating your site with the latest numbers would do it.  I think the rest of LRM shareholders would disseminate information pretty quickly from there.  Maybe let grnbrg handle to communication end since he seems to be "in the know"?

FYI, the hashrate shown at the private pool for LabRat is now 1.83 TH/s.

There is an API now for the pool that could be used to dynamically read the current hashrate.  If LabRat doesn't update his website in the next few days to start using the API (instead of requiring manual updates), then I'll put something together.
MayBe api based android widget could be done for LRM to see real time mining speed?

4) Ctrl+F -> avalon-temp
5) Read about avalon-temp option

388  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 ordered (Closed) on: September 04, 2013, 12:30:22 PM
I recibed my refound, lot of thanks for your work Sebastian. One question: Why I recibed 16.34 if i pay 17.2 B? What is the calculed metod? (this is not a reproach, just a question  Wink)

Thanks Againˇˇ

The payout is 95% because of the great work he did must be honored somehow.

Ok, thanks for your reply... but, I ask again: 780 Bitcoins (avalon price for 10,000 chips) /10,000 = 0.078 B/chip. I paid 0.086 B/chip. I think that all the risk of the operation was in this difference. In 10,000 chips he won 80 B.... and again, this is not a reproach, just a question  Wink I really appreciate the Sebastian workˇˇˇ

The difference between 0.078 and 0.086 was the 10%. I didnt refund 95% of 0.078 but of 0.086. So the 10% are changed to 5% for the refunded chips. So if you see it this way i hold 5% and paid back the 10%.
Or do you mean something different?

Funds received. Small tip your way as extra compensation for your efforts (you have mentioned that to be optional I know Smiley)

Thank you!
You have done your calculations wrong:
Your way= SumInBtc*0,95
Right way= 0,082*ChipsAmount.

Like example my case:
60*0,086= 5,16 BTC
1) 5,16*0,95=4,902 BTC (exact amount you have send)
2) (0,086-0,078)/2=0,004. 0,004*60= 0,24. 5,16-0,24=4,92 BTC.

By 5 batches:
50000*0,086*0,95=4085 BTC you will refund your way.
50000*0,082(=0,078+0,004)=4100 BTC

So you will profit 15*100€ = 1500€ more.

Quote
So the 10% are changed to 5% for the refunded chips.
So for refunded chips 10% are changed to 5,375% Cheesy

I don't really care about 0,018 BTC, just calculations =)
389  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 ordered (Closed) on: August 30, 2013, 09:03:57 PM
I'm in doubt.
I got the BTC I invested very cheap. So if I get the BTC back I've invested in the chip and 50% of the money invested in a Bitburners I would be even already because of the current BTC rate.

But like Roy, I'm actually not looking for profit, I'm just in it for fun.
I would be satisfied if I just get a ROI. And correct me if I'm wrong, but even with the rising difficulty this should be possible, right?!

Not if you dont find a special way to mine. The diffi is not only rising exponentially, the prozentual rise is exponentially too. Thats not a good sign.

Could you help me out there? What percentage?
If you are asking about rising difficulty percentage, then it is about 30-35% every about 13 days(75-85 %/month).
Also difficulty rising percentage growing all the time while BitFury devices has gone online(atleast 107 ghash,https://ghash.io), Avalon delivered some chips(i think at least 25T) and BFL seems to get something out, new Asic manufacturers are going in before end of 2013 (November,October,December). Currently in January at least BitBurner 20 will use more power that get bitcoins(http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/acb725f391).

We finally got round to getting our website up and running @ http://petamex.com/. Just the basics for now, we'll start fleshing it out with more detail and information in the coming days. The intro video on the home page (1st panel) is an oldie, but a goodie and serves mostly to educate newcomers to the scene. Any/all feedback is welcome here so feel free to rip me a new one.

391  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Old BFL buyers vs new asicminer prices on: August 29, 2013, 12:32:20 PM
My 5 cents,Josh:
I really dont care so much about price of bitcoin and difficulty- if i would done wrong calculation- its my bad, my loss.
But tell me, WHY, who have given you right to tell me and others that YOUR wrong calculation are still our bad?
It doenst matter what is difficulty and bitcoin price. Its miners problem, OUR problem.
YOUR problem is that you have said about SIX FUCKING MONTHS "next week"/"two week".
YOU have said:
1)Bfl will always give refund if asked
2) Delivery october/november
3) Orders delivered by paydate
4) Backlog in August ( changed in 1-3 days to september)
Jody says that was biggest delivery day in history. Jalopeno 6 day of orders, Ls none, Singles 1 days of order. Minirigs same dates.
 So. Tell me:
Why the hell you are whining here that we are idiots?
Look @ mirror. You have no rights to point on our mistakes.
We are customers. We have paid you. You made mistakes, you have lied, you dont know shit about what are you doing.
Only right you have is get our devices we paid LAST YEAR as fast as you can  and do everything that customers would be happy and even say on forum that you are idiot if it need to be said. Any of your "defence" tactics is so stupid and idiotic that even my little sister sais "Josh Zerlan is stupid kid".

And in real world business- we make calculation depending of TOD. If you miss YOUR terms of delivery, you refund or give discount or even deliver free. I dont need asics i ordered anymore, if i cannot make profit.
I have agreed bigger power usage. I have agreed to get it without power supply and still doesnt have device i ordered last year, and @ the same time i see Avalon,Jalopeno, Little Single devices ordered AND PAID after me getting profits.
Why the hell we need delivery by paydate? Becouse early orders get more profit. LS orders ordered 3 months after some SINGLE are now hashing, and what do Single do? Nothing, it still not delivered.

Everything you say is bullshit.

Btw:
I am tired of this toxic community malformed by greed.

Man, you've got quite some nerve for posting this. A full refund will not solve the issue. Please explain the 1+ million chips delivery that showed up in pictures from June? So, where did they end up?

batch 3? the amount was never 1+ million chips. if one 1+ million chips did show up in june, none of this would be happening and difficulty would NOT be this low, do some math.

also people seem to not make the connect to sudden raise of difficulty to us shipping batch 3 and bitfury's http://ghash.io pool coming online...

brb making refund form, I'm done with this.

Yufu is making refund form.
I vote for refund. (My order in batch 1)
Even if we take 1,72/20 chips and bitburners 20 chips board for 100€ it make atleast 2,72 BTC.
If we get it in september that it will not see ROI
http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/f14ab13c9e
I havent even calculated any power costs.
394  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 ordered (Closed) on: August 28, 2013, 09:17:18 PM
Update: Endgame

With ASICMINER today announcing blades for as low as 3.5BTC, it appeared that Avalon chips that do not mine today are not going to break even any more. While those blades went already out of stock after some hours, the new price for mining rig is officially set. Essentially this means that if Avalon does not ship the remaining chips fully within the next two weeks, they become worth less than their shipping costs.

Driven by this event, today I was flooded with refund requests that built up a queue of ~2000 chips. I do not expect any takers for this and it is realistic to assume that there will be no further refunds.

I am sad to admit that I do not believe in a fast and complete delivery of the remaining batches. This stopped to be a game the moment this group-buy alone funneled $500k to Avalon. Although we have only a small set of 'no BS rules', we still have a written commitment to deliver in time as part of the ToS. With so many community members taking a loss directly or indirectly through Avalon failing to meet their schedule, we (together with other customers) need to consider taking serious actions to end this tragedy.

At this stage our options are as follows:
  • A. sit and wait
That was my tactics so far, assuming that civilized and respectful behavior will ensure to get our chips as fast as possible. This in fact might have been the reason why so far our group-buy got more chips than others, at the same time with a delivery of one batch per month our last will arrive mid 2014 - ready for re-direction to the Bitcoin museum Sad
  • B. demand full refund
The majority would be fine with getting their invested coins back and let this chapter pass into oblivion. According to Avolon's ToS, there will be no refunds. But if they really care about Bitcoin and its community and realize how much harm they caused to so many of us, they might consider playing fair and send us the coins back. This implies that you do not want your chips any more.
  • C. negotiate for compensation
While refunding all orders might exceed Avalon's capabilities, they might prefer offering a compensation in form of free chips or free upgrades to next-gen ones. This implies you would like continue dealing with Avalon.
  • D. legal action
Leave the polite arena and sue them into ground; make an example of them and put an end to the pre-order madness in Bitcoinland. This implies you are willing to throw more good money after the bad - for a very limited expectation. Your money would feed some poor lawyers and Avalon if needed will declare bankruptcy (they said they do not control the collected funds any more).

I personally will approach Avalon with options B and C for now and consider combining forces with other group-buy organizers for D if we do not hear back within a reasonable time-frame. If you have a different opinion you'd like to share, please do so either here or via PM.

I will just leave this here.....
