381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Mixer Penalized by FinCEN for Violating AML Law on: October 20, 2020, 09:09:14 AM
I am not sure what is the right solution for this,
an easy one, more decentralization. when there is no "owner" to catch, there is no "KYC" to force onto them and there is nothing they can do.
wanting privacy is everyone's right and they should be able to achieve it one way or another. the more KYC rules the government forces on different services the more advanced and popular the privacy improvement methods such as CoinJoin will get.

indeed, no doubt that the government always trying to track down any illegal activities including linked to bitcoin transactions.
Remember what happened to bitmixer.io in 2017?
"On July 24 the operator of the website and bitcoin mixing service Bitmixer.io announced the operation is now ending its mixing services.
Although many Bitcoiners assumed the closure was due to law enforcement pressure the owner insists it is due to a change in his ideology."

"I hope our decision will help to make Bitcoin ecosystem more clean and transparent.I hope our competitors will hear our message and will close their services too. Very soon this kind of activity will be considered as illegal in most of countries.
Whoever owns a mixing service, better to remain anonymous for the good sake of us. we definitely need a mixer.
382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin used for illegal activities on telegram on: October 19, 2020, 05:04:58 PM
https://news.bitcoin.com/a-system-of-robot-drug-dealers-on-telegram-allows-people-to-buy-illegal-products-for-bitcoin/
~~~
But this time what's unfortunate is : Government will make this the fault of bitcoins and the people themselves, put up huge restrictions or might even think about issuing a ban.
People are now using social media and telegram to buy illegal things like : drugs , they are paying through Bitcoins.
The anonymity that cryptocurrency provides lead government to blame bitcoin and want to ban it.
However, drugs and many other illegal activities have been banned for years but it still remains to date.
The point is, people always find a way to do it, using bitcoin or monero but it's relatively small compare to fiat money.
It's better for the government to regulate cryptocurrency transaction, not easy to convert bitcoin into cash as the transaction easily tracked through blockchain, although it's a game of patience to track down all the transactions.
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which coin price high in features BTC or ETH ? on: October 19, 2020, 09:35:23 AM
The price of ETH is always beneath bitcoin, a big gap in price between these coins.
There is no doubt what the future of bitcoin and eth, it's always the same, only a few pump coins could surpass bitcoin's price such as yfi
but we know it will decline sooner or later and bitcoin will reach another peak of the mountain.
in term of investment, depends on your funds whether it's enough to purchase at least BTC1 or prefer to buy more coins of ETH, multiply by the percentage increase in price, then you may get more profit buying eth than bitcoin.
384  Economy / Economics / Re: Which is better, staking or investing? on: October 19, 2020, 04:58:56 AM
Many people who hold a huge amount of staking coins be able to generate an income with a sizeable amount by cash out only the interest every month.
For example, someone holds 10,000 coins of waves, with 1% interest every month he could gain 100 coins, at the current price of $3 which means $300 per month. Based on the price purchased at the time of launch, waves ROI is 125% at the moment. a quite good coin imho.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a waves holder, not even 1 coin.
386  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-10-16] Institutions can cause Bitcoin shortages in the market on: October 18, 2020, 09:24:50 PM
bitcoin shortage won't happen, too many coins in the circulation, and takes another century to mine all the coins around the year 2140,
too many holders, miners, investors, although it's not dispersed unevenly among us.
They are trying to create fomo atmosphere, bitcoin price will soar but will be corrected, the cycle that repeats all the time.
387  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin fall bellow 3000$ and Gold price will increase? on: March 23, 2020, 09:37:25 AM
Neither bitcoin nor gold will increase during this global epidemic because people are panic to sell off and choose cash in order to buy daily necessities and groceries.
If this pandemic getting worse, we might have to face this condition for several months, hence cash is the best option for now.
388  Economy / Speculation / Re: Short term bullish run is now over, and it was most likely a failed rally on: January 27, 2020, 11:18:01 AM
What happened in Oct 25-26 was a sudden pump within 24 hours, not a bullish run. But take a look at the bigger picture, bitcoin still on the bullish run compared to the early phase of last year at $3900 and this year bitcoin price starts at $7200. It's not a short term but always perceives in the long term, as now the price gradually increases over $8K and the trend in the market still trying to break the $10K level.
389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Increasing Number, Who Own 1 bitcoin on: January 23, 2020, 05:55:14 PM
I rather want to see that there is no single wallet holding greater or equal to1BTC so that we can say that we are really approaching mass adoption which the BTC main objective.
There will always wallet holding more than BTC1, for example; addresses that belong to satoshi or exchange's wallet.
Probably in 20 years later, fewer people hold more than BTC1 and more people adopt bitcoin, but I can't say bitcoin will ever be the main objective.
390  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price in January 2020 will touch 10k, What do you think? on: January 20, 2020, 04:43:47 AM
11 days left and bitcoin corrected after reaching $9K level.
At this point, the possibility for bitcoin to reach $10K by this month seems unlikely.
Technically, $10K isn't far away, I bet it will be achieved in next month.
391  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Full time trading is boring on: January 15, 2020, 10:44:51 PM
Full time doesn't mean have to do it hours and hours continuously, take a break and do something else.
don't do it alone, find some friends who trade as well, create a group to share experience, knowledge, and information.
392  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Trend for 2020. on: January 09, 2020, 07:13:17 AM
Many people on this forum share their TAs and predict that bitcoin will be neutral and going sideways until the halving, it will grow gradually after the halving takes place since the mining reward reduced and less supply will play the role. So the trend of bitcoin in 2020 obviously going upwards, expected to reach over $15K at some point and get corrected. However, the chance of bitcoin to reach $20K is relatively small but not impossible, let's see what will happen in the fourth quarter of the year.
393  Economy / Economics / Re: Your Views: Which Innovative Ways Government Might Use To Expand Crypto Use on: January 09, 2020, 03:32:57 AM
Not necessary to apply tax-free for purchases using cryptocurrency, simply legalize it more than enough to encourage people to adopt bitcoin. Another way such as occurs in Japan in rebate promo, the program will attract a 3% discount if people using bitcoin to pay their gas bills.
394  Economy / Speculation / Re: I Bet Bitcoin Reaches $10k In the Next 5-7 Days! on: January 04, 2020, 11:09:56 PM
Really doubt it, no pump for bitcoin this week, forget about $10K, bitcoin has struggling to break $8K for months. Bitcoin price so volatile, yes it can rapidly change within $100-$500 within hours, it drops to $6870 then rise to $7300 less than 24 hours, but it seems normal in this crypto market. The sentiment has changed from sell to buy obviously, but the price wouldn't fluctuate that extensively.
395  Economy / Economics / Re: Coming Changes Bitcoin will be backing USA dollars on: January 02, 2020, 01:05:18 AM
What a nonsense,  it will never happen.
Gold is a stable asset, will never crash, it has real utility, being used in every computer and smartphone, and many other usabilities. Bitcoin is decentralized, the government simply can't backing dollars based on this volatile currency.
396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In the next decade, BTC and digital currencies will “fully” replace fiat? on: January 01, 2020, 08:39:19 AM
Without doubt, Cryptocurrency is going to dominate fiat and all these gift cards. Any wise government will have to open a research on it. I love what the French is doing by teaching this in school. Developing nations will see no wisdom in all these until they are left behind.
No, it will not until crypto free from manipulation, without whales we'll have a more stable market, but how long it takes to get there? The government research about digital currency to create their own, but it still another form of fiat currency, it needs to be stable but on the other side, cryptocurrency is a volatile market, see the difference.
397  Economy / Speculation / Re: Q4 -Quarter 4 speculation thread, where will 2019 end, join the LIST on: December 31, 2019, 09:15:26 PM
$7155 on bitstamp atm
countdown approximately 1 hour 45 minutes left, right?
we can see who the winner right now, the price wouldn't change that much.
Unless, come on pump it man Cheesy
throw $1 million on bitstamp to get BTC0.1 (totally worth it) Cheesy Grin
398  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ponzi scheme and Bitcoin on: December 31, 2019, 11:10:54 AM
scams always collapse and so far we have had many scams some big and some small and they have all collapsed and none of them have ever had any effects on bitcoin price other than some small newbie panics and sells. because even though some of these scams may be big but they are not big enough in comparison to the bitcoin market size. not to mention that these scammers unload their stolen coins away from exchanges to avoid being tracked.
Read the news about it, Plus token creators estimated to hold over 200,000 btc and regularly dumped it to the market since August when the price of bitcoin above $10K.
They run away with over $3 Billion dollars in cryptocurrencies, specifically bitcoin, ethereum, and EOS.
Oh yes, to avoid being tracked, they use the mixer service before sent it to exchanges.
Analysts have now uncovered that these scammers are still dumping their cryptocurrency holdings on the market. According to Ergo (@ErgoBTC), the amount of Bitcoin the group holds may even be over 200,000 BTC. Assuming all the known mixed BTC has been sold off from early August, that brings the average at around 1,300 BTC sold per day.
Given that around 1,800 BTC is mined per day, that’s around 72 percent of daily mining rewards being sold off by PLUS daily.
399  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I Buy Bitcoin Now? on: December 31, 2019, 07:12:22 AM
There is no guarantee the current price is the best entry point if we see this month's price range within $6500 - $7800. Based on the price tag, the lowest and the best entry point was $6500 on December 18th, not in the early or the end of the month. It was predicted though when the price was $10K in October, some people with their TAs say it will drop to $6K. Well, look closely at the predictions before decide to buy bitcoin, nevertheless $7K still a good price to buy if your aim for a long term hold.
400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Week (Dec 22-28) on: December 30, 2019, 07:02:01 AM
Seems like bitcoin week doesn't happen at this time, the price just sits at the same range within $7xxx, not even close to reaching above $8K by the end of the year.
So, let's see what's tomorrow will bring to us. Maybe a $3000 pump? hahaha Grin
the best shot I guess, probably within $7300-$7400 on December 31st.
