382  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Which is the best bitcoin miner available??? on: October 20, 2012, 12:51:49 AM
cgminer + custom .bat files gets my vote. Why? Complete detailed customized terminal command promptg gives you the ability to squeeze every last drop of mhash out of your card. With some trial, and error of course Smiley

+1

However, if OP is looking for something that works and is easy to set up GUI Miner is the way to go for him.

CGminer is easy to setup too.

I didn't say it was hard, but I'm fairly certain GUIminer is much easier to set up.

no CGminer was easier to setup than GUIminer because GUIminer has problem's getting it to start which a newbie can't do.

but once GUIminer is running it is easy to configure everything
383  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is ASIC's a SCAM? on: October 20, 2012, 12:48:41 AM

384  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Email problems using Thunderbird & Enigmail for GPG on: October 20, 2012, 12:45:21 AM
I'm trying to use Thunderbird and Enigmail (windows 7) for sending encrypted messages via GPG.  But the email providers I've tried haven't worked 100%.  Is there one that works best for Thunderbird or for another GPG interface?

The following are the email providers I've tried and the result:

Hushmail -  need premium service.  Kind of defeats purpose of being anonymous.

vmail  - kept getting "Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender", saying my IP address is blocked to prevent spam, even though I tried sending from my home IP address.

hotmail - doesn't handle attachments using Thunderbird and couldn't send my public ID key using attachments or a simple cut/paste.

fastmail - can't send mail because doesn't allow SMTP (outgoing server) unless you upgrade to their paying service.

why don't you post this on a technical forum?

I was at 11 GH about 12 months ago.  Down to 2 GH now just b/c I got sick of dealing with 40 video cards Smiley

did you sell those 40 card's after you get back the investment or before the card has paid off.
386  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is ASIC's a SCAM? on: October 20, 2012, 12:22:17 AM
Selling a product, that will make you 10x the profit in 2 weeks, is a scam imho.

Compare google selling you their adwords licensing for $100,000 dollars a day royalties, but its making $500,000 a day profit.

Its bullshit.

so, gpus were a scam when everyone was mining with cpus?
\

come on gpu comes from an million dollar gaming industrie that are facts ...not air,

another fact is this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=110805.0

Lets all just mine on ,..in 6 weeks a lot wil be cleared out...Cheers

6 week's is a long time

if they turn out to be true everyone who did not preorder is losing the chance of mining with big hasrate at a low difficulty.

and if they turn out to be a scam everyone who did preorder ASIC will be in LOSS.
387  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is mining Illegal? on: October 19, 2012, 11:42:53 PM
Im mining now but my friends ask me: Isnt this illegal?
I asked them why they tough that and they sed: Its actually a program that gives you free money!
It's not "free money", it's fair payment for the useful work you did.

i agree with you The Bitcoin Network pay's you for the work you do.

That's only a portion of it.  Wink  71Ghash total.

Scroll up like 4 posts.

sorry did not see that
391  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Best 7970 card for cooling/quiet on: October 19, 2012, 06:47:20 PM
MSI 7970 Lightning Edition

and it is also good for overclocking

I have 32 6970 Lightning Edition cards.  The heatsinks are fantastic and the card is made very *very* well.  That being said, the difference between that heatsink and the Sapphire card that I linked isn't very large.  It's not worth the extra $100 premium unless you plan on attempting some extreme overlocking.  I'd gladly put one in my machine for gaming and would certainly pay the extra money for it because the components are top-notch.  I wouldn't spend the extra money for mining though.

I paid the premium on the 6970s because Bitcoin was in a bubble.  They paid themselves off quickly.  With today's mining conditions and with dedicated ASICs around the corner, I wouldn't do it.

how many Gigahash do you have in total.
392  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is ASIC's a SCAM? on: October 19, 2012, 12:10:43 PM
why can't any ASIC company even show a under development ASIC picture's
393  Bitcoin / Hardware / Is ASIC's a SCAM? on: October 19, 2012, 10:09:09 AM
i have heard many people saying that Butterfly Lab and the other manufactures who make ASIC's is a SCAM

and this could be true because there is no proof than even ASIC exist and no one has even has a picture of a ASIC

what you you all say about ASIC's?

Rearanged a few GPU this evening...heard a loud pop and saw a flash...smells like grinded metal...i think one of my cards is toast...

look's like the card overheated

50BTC will remain 50BTC so miner's can remember the good old time's when the reward was 50BTC

399  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Guiminer 100% cpu utilization on: October 19, 2012, 08:53:48 AM
Looking to avoid "duh" answers to this problem.

Windows vista is utilizing 100% cpu when mining with 3x 5770 cards on a core 2 duo cpu.

using -v -w128 -f60 as flags.

try CGminer
400  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Guiminer .5 BTC Bounty for solution! :) on: October 19, 2012, 08:48:44 AM
except that phoenix is better than cgminer...

do you have proof that phoenix is better than CGminer
