381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hardware Wallet on: February 25, 2018, 09:48:15 PM
Hey Community,
what do you think about hardware wallets? Do you use one? And how much currency do you store on it?
Honestly, I don't have hardware wallet yet, but I will buy one soon. It's too important to secure your funds in crypto. Usually, people who have a massive amount of bitcoin, store them in a hardware wallet, because it's too risky to store a large amount in an online bitcoin wallet, even if it's secure. I advice anyone to use the hardware wallet to store their bitcoin or maybe other altcoins, It's much safer. Currently, I don't have a lot of bitcoin but I think it's worth to save my few btc on it for now, I don't trust any online bitcoin wallet.
382  Other / Meta / Re: Multiple common topics on: February 25, 2018, 09:37:13 PM
Maybe some of you are fully aware in what happening within this forum. Creating informative topic is ok but creating topic the same with the previous post is not. This scenario can limit the knowledge of a reader especially for those newbie. It is irritating me,  you are like eating the same food everyday.

I also find out that if your common topic answered by several people, it will be counted as a new topic. Do you think it is "new" ?maybe before you will do  a new topic,  try to search first then if it new or unique enough then go.

For those people whose always guide newbie to find their question to the previous topic and to make end the redundant post, I salute you
Honestly, I saw a lot of same topics in different sections here in the forum, people should search for a few minutes before posting anything, but I don't think this problem will solve without any intervention. Moderators should interfere here, and delete multiple common topics and just leave the original one, I think this is the best idea to clean up the forum from duplicate content.
383  Other / Meta / Re: Need Help in finding solution for my negative trust on: February 25, 2018, 09:17:07 PM
It's too bad for you to get a negative trust for this reason, No one can help you except actmyname, but honestly, I don't think he will remove it. You should know that before you start to make deals with bitcointalk account, but I am just surprised that other DT members just give your a Neutral feedbacks.

385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Daily Airdrops - In one Topic! on: February 24, 2018, 08:20:53 PM
Wow, you did a good work to share with us these following links about Daily Airdrops. This is very helpful and well created. People who are interested in airdrops can find it easily now, according to your topic. Keep updating this topic, and I think that you will get an extra merit points from users, because you deserve it.
386  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Bug , or what ? on: February 24, 2018, 08:12:15 PM
hello everyone , i just found this user https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1169572 , he is newbie but have 105 merit

but after i saw on his merit he just recived 5 merit , its visual bug or what ? i and my friend can see him with 105 merit

prove that he have 105 merit : https://prnt.sc/ij6zep
prove that he just recived 5 merit : https://prnt.sc/ij71bi

He was a Full member, because we can see the account had already 100 points in the beginning, Propebly, he deleted all his posts, because I thought that all of them are shit posts. Maybe now, he wants to improve his account and try from the beginning, but I don't get why he deleted a post that he have on it some merit points?  Huh Huh This is weird.
387  Other / Meta / Re: what benefits can I get if giving s merit to others? on: February 24, 2018, 07:48:48 PM
There aren't any benefits to you if you send some merit to any other person. You just help other members who post high quality posts to rank up, that's all. And if you want to be one like them you should improve your posts quality by posting helpful and useful idea or information to get some merit points to be able to rank up.
388  Other / Meta / Re: Some confusions regarding "Merit system" on: February 24, 2018, 07:42:08 PM
To me, I would say the merit system hasn't yet achieved what it was created to achieve. And in all honesty, merit system won't eradicate shitpost from the forum. This is solely because it can't control what people post as meaningless posts still get sMerit. Maybe with time, the MODs will come to realise this and maybe make some amendments or enact other rules to better the forum.
If you did not see yet how the merit system can affect shitposters and hasn't yet achieved his purpose then you should wait. This system is coordinate to achieve his goal slowly, maybe in few months you can see a high improve in posts and topics in the whole forums, it's matter of time, by the way, I think the purpose of this system is to decrease, not to eradicate shitpost from the forum.
389  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: BUYING LEGENDARY ACCOUNT on: February 21, 2018, 06:45:35 PM
Trading bitcointalk accounts is a bad thing here, Delete your post before that you will be tagged by a DT member.
390  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why did satoshi develop bitcoin in windows? on: February 20, 2018, 11:01:06 PM
You are trying to create a decentralized, censorship resistant, open source form of money, and you build it on top of a closed source operating system which is known for it's ties with three letter agency, hidden exploits, and all sorts of these bad things.

I find it weird that he would develop on windows. As far as I know, his first release was for windows only, and from what I've read, some code analysts claimed that he was a windows guy.

What is your take on this?
Well, I think satoshi develop bitcoin on windows because he's so familiar with windows, also when it became successful, he never gave it a thought to try to experiment it on another OS, like Linux or something else.
391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TOP #BTC in 2018 on: February 20, 2018, 10:52:08 PM
Many trader in this period talk about  the TOP value of bitcoin in 2018, somebody talk about  50K someone  think is 60K  other say 100K...
It's hard to know the highest peak for bitcoin price in 2018. No one can know that even pro traders, but the majority know that bitcoin price will recover and it will increase too much in a few months later. Honestly, I think that bitcoin will take some time to reach again the 19k$ level. maybe 2-4 months, If it reaches this point, I will be sure that the next target will be the 50k$ by the end of this year.
392  Other / Meta / Re: A post that is not about the Merit System. on: February 20, 2018, 10:26:05 PM
Lol. Lately, the Meta section is truly filled with topics which talk about merit points. Maybe because we are in the first round of the new system, by the way I do agree with you,

Actmyname and The Pharmacist are good and trustworthy members in this forum, I respect them too much.
393  Other / Meta / Re: Who has earned enough Merit to Rank Up beyond "member"? on: February 19, 2018, 08:26:54 PM
Seems like I will rank up to full member soon. Still need my activity and 36 merit but I think is not a big issue since I collected 54 merits already for less than a month. Time will show and I'm not in hurry. Well, I'll be happy to have my own avatar Wink
I believe that you will achieve your goal soon, Maybe you can collect 36 merit points even before your activity touched the 120. Keep posting like that and you will be in the next rank as soon as possible, Good luck.
394  Economy / Services / Re: A simple bitcoin Q/A. Learn new and interesting stuff about bitcoin. on: February 19, 2018, 07:51:39 PM

Question :

Did Satoshi write the Bitcoin Whitepaper or write the code for Bitcoin first?
Honestly, I didn't know the right answer. I do some research in google and I found that he published his white paper in some day in 2008, and he already said that he still code for bitcoin. I also read that a legend that says "sometime in 2007" (I mean the time that he begin to write the code for Bitcoin. So, it seems that Satoshi writes the code for Bitcoin first.

Why did he choose the one he did to do first?
For this question, I didn't find any answer until now.

Edit : I got the answer, thanks a lot bill gator.
395  Other / Meta / Re: google recaptcha on bitcointalk on: February 19, 2018, 06:57:50 PM
I hate reCaptcha as much as you. However, theymos made a poll back in October asking users "What do you think of the forum's usage of reCaptcha?" and nothing has changed since them.

I probably won't make changes in the near future, but I've been thinking about the captcha issue, and I wonder what people think about reCaptcha.

Where reCaptcha is used now, something is required, and AFAIK all other captcha services can be OCRed and are therefore useless. End-users often like SolveMedia, but those seem really easy to OCR. I actually really like the image classification approach on a theoretical level, though I hate relying on NSA-lite Google, and occasionally on Tor they throw you into some insane black hole of difficulty (though you can change your Tor exit to fix that).
Same here, I didn't like the recaptcha because it's a bit annoying. We should choose the right picture every time to be able to login in a bitcointalk account. The problem with it, that sometimes it's not well shown, so I make some mistake to choose the right pictures, In result I will fail to login. I don't know the real reason of it, but we should use the right navigator to able to solve the captcha very fast.

397  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 19, 2018, 05:36:42 PM
I think that the price now will go up, after the variation of price between 9-10.5k$. Currently the price is 11k$, this time I don't think it will fall again and touch the 9k$ level. For sure it will increase more in this month and maybe it can touch the 12.5-13k$ at the end of February.
398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wake up! Don't sell your crypto. on: February 19, 2018, 05:23:21 PM
Okay so this is how it goes, while I was reviewing the price drop of any coins especially bitcoin i thought that I was inside  hell, it's on fire and while I was also thinking that valentines day is coming, I ask myself why too early?.

Now I want you to know that every amount of any crypto that you sell is hurting the market so why do we give slap to our asses and wait don't spend.  Since this is bitcoin talk Ill ask you once again do you support bitcoin?

I wanna burst! The red color is irritating me.

I totally agree with what you said. People who sell their crypto now for the reason of panic is so stupid. The market will recover as soon as possible, you should wait until it will be green again. If people really support and believe in bitcoin, they will understand that. Holding now is the key, don't waste your crypto and sell it with a loss, every crypto seller now, will regret later.
399  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 19, 2018, 05:07:21 PM
its really hard to get merit Sad what a system
Not too difficult if you always try to make a quality post  Wink

It is considered a bad things to post 2 posts in a row, better look at the rules again fella before it is too late and you might regret it.
True, he can just reply to the 2 posts in the same quote. These kind of activities likely is like spam. I see that he had already 9 merits and it's clear that he want to rank up by getting only 1. but things goes not like that, I mean by posting 2 posts in a row.
