381  Economy / Economics / Re: Africa - Hidden Treasure for the world and bitcoin on: November 04, 2019, 09:28:56 AM
Yes Africa is a country that is viewed by other countries, but as much as Africa has the potential, both natural resources, human resources, and tourism and many more. It is unfortunate that this attention to Africa is arguably lacking, education, health, food, clothing, technology etc.
I see if Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency started to be used in my Africa it is a very good thing considering that the currency of Africa has a low value compared to other countries ' currencies. How is it?
For example for the tourism in Africa, the government or local managers can start using Altcoin (BTC, ETH etc.) as a pay ticket tool, and it can be done not only tourism, can apply to buy and sell natural resources such as iron, tin, gold, coal, and petroleum. Of course all these things are not easy to implement Cryptocurrency as an official tool for buying and selling in Africa, and desperately needing government support. Unimaginable when Crypto has been adopted as a substitute for classic money, Africa can become a high tech barren Planet.

However, the government support that the development of the vast natural resources of the continent badly needs is nowhere to be found. The continent is made even poorer because of the governments themselves which, instead of being responsible to look after the welfare of their own people, are the ones who are stealing the little money generated. The same governments are selling the iron, tin, gold, coal, and petroleum to foreign entities. Cryptocurrency cannot address all these difficult problems.
382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 100 years of deflation and disinflation - BSOV vs. Bitcoin on: November 04, 2019, 09:05:57 AM
What the heck is BSOV? Bitcoin Satoshi Original Version? LMAO Grin

I said it many times that Bitcoin IS NOT a deflation based currency:
I don't think Bitcoin is a deflation based currency because you need negative inflation to be called deflation. Bitcoin is a non-debased currency with ~21 million supply. I think it would work since it promotes price stability and economic certainty, similar to the gold-standard era.

Deflation based currency will inevitably fail. People will not trust money that magically disappears from their wallets.

Bitcoin is spawning countless of shitcoins. BSOV is the latest? Lol. I guess he refers to Bitcoin Satoshi Original Vision, a coin which is not even original.

Bitcoin is supposed to be inflating in value because of the limited total supply, as well as the reward halving every four years that is integrated in the design, and the fact that the demand is ever rising. But since its value is determined by the market, it becomes neither deflating nor inflating.

383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Has alt season started? on: November 04, 2019, 08:44:34 AM
Do you believe that it has started? I have a good feeling that I should buy them before winter. Prove me wrong.

Give something first why you are probably going to be right. I am seeing a good mixture of red and green in the altcoin charts right at this moment. I cannot consider this as a beginning of an altcoin season. Most in the top 10 are even in red. If the altcoin season comes, it should come with the top altcoins such as Ethereum, Ripple, and Litecoin having the highest green amongst all of them.
384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Extra weeks added to bounty campaign on: November 04, 2019, 08:22:06 AM
To all bounty hunters on this wonderful forum i want to know if its advisable to continue with the bounty you have been promoting for 12weeks that got extra 8weeks added more, have you promote projects this long that ends up with good end results? Thank you

This is not advisable for me unless the campaign is also increasing the allocated reward for the bounty campaign participants. However, you may take a closer look at the project itself. If it is more of a scam than a legit project, leave it. It is better to waste 12 weeks promoting a scam than waste 8 weeks more. I have promoted all kinds of projects in the past. Most projects that extend and extend are worthless projects. Which project is it by the way? Is it the one whose signature you are wearing now?
385  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Get Trading Signals for BTC & ETH from an Artificial Intelligence. For FREE? on: November 04, 2019, 04:41:44 AM
This is useless. And this is nothing new. These kinds of signals were already offered years ago. AI and bots-based trading signals were all over telegram and other social media sites even before. Artificial Intelligence is good and the development of which is going to become beneficial to the world. But in terms of cryptocurrency trading, it is very limited in scope. It cannot survey news and similar developments.
386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges that conduct IEOS You should stay away from ? on: November 04, 2019, 04:09:16 AM
Exmarkets have their own poor IEOs as well as Coineal. But it is unfair to treat IEOs based on their exchange platforms. Judging IEOs should be an individual approach and not on the platform which is basically a third party. It does not follow, after all, that if certain IEOs are offered in Binance or Okex, they are automatically great projects that will certainly earn success. IEOs are different from each other even if they share the same platform.
387  Economy / Economics / Re: Anyone else remember this? on: November 04, 2019, 03:42:32 AM
The world has changed a lot. There is so much more money online and as a freelancer than working for a company. Some are saying that permanently employed in a nice company will give you security and many benefits. I would say, my payment alone is more secure than what they are receiving. And what benefits they are talking about? Working from home gives me freedom, good pay, less work, and many more. Now, that's the clear benefits of not working with strict hours in a company.
388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WILL Bounty campaigns Ever Keep to their Rules and Regulations on: November 04, 2019, 03:21:18 AM
More precisely the projects that are just emerging now want to make something big but they don't want to spend a lot of money to make it, they rely on investors and the task of the bounty hunter is to help them get lots of investors to fund their projects, I think if this strategy that they use, then they will most likely fail through the funding phase. Supposedly, if they intend to build a big project then they must also know that the funds needed are not small. I think at least they can do funding in the beginning to promote it and pay a definite value to bounty hunters and other media.

One of the reasons why a lot of investors hate coins that are launching ICOs is that they do not actually invest money to make their product see the market. One way to gauge whether a project is serious enough to enter the market is for them to release their own money for their product's development. If they are only relying on other people's money, they do not really care whether they will gain success or not. It is not their money that is at stake in the first place after all.
389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin at the end of 2019? on: November 04, 2019, 02:38:36 AM
I put in Litecoin halving into google and got:

"Will litecoin go up 2019?
According to oracletime.com, the advantages of Litecoin over Bitcoin will interest many new investors. Their Litecoin forecasts for the end of 2019 is $1000, but there are predictions that it could even rise up to $2000!"

Thoughts?
We are currently in November and considered near the end of Q4. But the price of Litecoin is only $ 58 and I think the predictions of many online experts are wrong.
they just make fomo predictions and have nothing to confirm it. Now the price of litecoin can only depend on bitcoin and in addition litecoin still has nothing outstanding to grow during this period.

$1,000 is an obvious FOMO. They should not have even mentioned $2,000 in their forecast. It made everything a clear case of spreading FOMO to altcoin supporters. But this exaggerated prediction will not result into anything positive. They should have just lowered it to $200 to $300 and perhaps it could have made a more realistic effect to the altcoin supporters. Litecoin is no doubt a great altcoin to invest. There is no need to state things beyond what is real.
390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TOP25/50 COINS on: November 04, 2019, 02:17:58 AM
Is it only safe to play with top50 coins?
Are you also looking at coins which are not listed on CMc?
Thank you!
Trading at altcoins in the top 50 of CMC is the safest. because all the alts are well capitalized and have good enough volumes to trade.
For alts outside the top 50, you can only speculate, not trade because there are many alts or tokens with low transaction volumes and not eligible for liquidity. There are also plenty of coins that are just scams and starting businesses just to cheat investors! be careful.

Actually, you can extend up to the top 100. They are all pretty much safe to invest. Ranks from top 40 up are shuffling oftentimes. The top 55 coin might become the top 50 in a couple of week's time. As much as possible avoid coins that are not within the top 100 unless you have something that you are closely monitoring from its earliest time of development that have very clear potentials of getting into the spotlight. The same advice goes to those coins outside CMC.
391  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the solution about CMC fake volume..? on: November 04, 2019, 01:51:28 AM
Coinmarketcap's reputation is being tarnished by all these exchanges reporting fake volumes. They should be the one to initiate an effort to cleanse its list of scam exchanges. I think they should need to ask indubitable proofs and evidences from exchanges that their submitted volumes are not fake. Any hint that there are fake figures in their reports should be enough for them not to get listed in coinmarketcap.
392  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Qualification for Professional Trader on: November 03, 2019, 02:05:36 PM
I'm thinking about how to be qualified as a professional trader, There's a web site that I found on ads and it's called Etoro. On the website they allow users to copy a certain trader's portfolio and the website show the trader's current growth.

My question is how can a certain website know if you are qualified as a professional trader? I don't think the portfolio is enough to be trusted because it is easily manipulated by some editing skills.

Etoro's ads are everywhere, in Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc.

I only consider a trader a professional trader if he is focusing on it full time, or if he is earning much of his income from it, or perhaps he is employed by a trading institution as a trader, or he has undergone formal courses on it. If a trader is trading on his own and when he has vacant time only, or only if he gets to access to some other traders' TAs, then he is not a professional trader.
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Coins that have their own Dex (Bitshares, Komodo, ?) on: November 03, 2019, 01:20:21 PM
Anyone have any thoughts on coins that have their own DEX's as far as future price?

I know Bitshares has a good one.  It's an easy two step process to sign up,  Just pick a user name and they give you a password which you then have to copy and paste in.  One can print that out as a type of hard wallet.

I don't know about other coins except that Komodo I thought was working on one about a year ago.
Though dex isn't much popular i think if people starts loose trust if ever what happens in the traditional exchanges that we are using right now DEX will be on top of that however, as long as this top performing exchange still remains dex exchanges will not be on the top while the coins price might still move organically but we can't assure it.

I'd love to use DEX over centralized exchanges. I would be glad to fully shift from centralized exchanges to DEX but the condition of presently available DEXes are far from excellent. And if this current condition will continue, they will really lose the battle against centralized exchanges. They are not that high in volumes. They are not that attractive to coin listing either. They are not even highly secure as compared to centralized exchanges. They have their own shady track records.
394  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency usage will boost economy or make it worst ? on: November 03, 2019, 12:49:43 PM
I really doubt whether cryptocurrency is big enough to influence the economy, at least outside some of the specific niche areas. The user base remains quite big, but so far we have been unable to translate the large number of users and huge trade volumes in to any sort of economic influence. And this is also one of the reasons why the politicians are able to ignore the cryptocurrency users. Perhaps the situation will change, once the mainstream investors show more interest in cryptocurrency. Initiatives such as Bakkt represents a right step in this direction.

Cryptocurrency do really is big enough to influence the economy, how come? being widely accepted and providing all the security features and advantages that cryptocurrency is having already provides the chance of changing the economy. Lets think of this. Economy is through each individual that makes up the country. If each individual is well knowledgeable enough to cryptocurrency, it can definitely change their financial status from the opportunities that crypto can give. Each financial status of the people will be the basis of the economy they have in a holistic view.

We have to clarify when we talk of the economy. Individuals earning good from crypto jobs may not be benefiting the macro economy, or the economy of the national level. It could be considered micro, or the economy of a certain person or family but not the national. The national economy or the macro level of the economy is hard to change simply because of people using cryptocurrency. The macro economy is influenced by the increase and decrease of the national income by way of the nation's products and services.
395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICOs really DEAD or simply cleared a path for better projects? on: November 03, 2019, 11:16:13 AM
Smoke and mirrors my friend... I think this is just the last scammers giving it a try... the whole market has already moved to IEO...
Why would people still invest in something with a much higher risk than IEO? Not that IEO is perfect as it still has it's risks, but is way much better than ICO... so....
The issue of ICO and IEO has not been finishing since the beginning of this year. What does that matter? both have the same risks: the possibility of scam. If you already trust the project and the team, the sales will be suitable for the project itself. While this is only a small factor, why should it be so magnified? Sales is the last step, there are more steps up to that, pay attention to the previous ones.

ICO and IEO are almost the same, save for the platform used for the coin offering. IEO is basically another way of coin offering just like ICO. It is just that it is being offered in an exchange. What investors should be looking into is not the way the coin is being offered but the project details itself. Whether a project is offered in an ICO or IEO does not count much. What counts is that it is offering a new idea and that they have a great product that is practical to as many people as possible.
396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Getting scammed on: November 03, 2019, 10:51:03 AM
I got scammed by this project called temtum. Signed up for their bounty months ago, posting for their campaign, filling up 2 kyc forms and pushing for its deadline, and now they are telling me i didnt pass it. It is not only me who encountered this. Hello Richard Dennis.
You are not the only one who has been scammed by bounty managers or team that run a bounty campaign. They do not understand that bounty hunters is a community and this community could harm the project if someone cheat them.  Cool

I've taken a little initiative to look at the project. The bounty is managed by one of the most trusted managers here in Bitcointalk. Hhampuz is the one managing the bounty campaign. I cannot see scam complaints just like yours because the bounty thread is locked. But I am sure there must be another venue for your to raise your concerns. They must have a bounty channel in Telegram. I think you need to exhaust all means first before giving on it.
397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XSN broke 1k sat again.. How high can it go? on: November 03, 2019, 10:13:20 AM
These guys have done a lot of great work over the past 2 years and it's fantastic to see that they're finally seeing some recognition.  Grin
I genuinely think Stakenet is a sleeper hit that will pull a NEO or a Raiblocks out of nowhere.

You're free to disagree.

Stakenet has potentials. But it has since touched the bottom. I can see that the project has started to move in strides. What recognition are you talking about? That must be the reason why it is pumping right now. Stakenet (XSN) price is moving up more than 20% today. But I will not say that it will hit NEO or Railblocks hard with its own development. NEO and Railblocks are huge names themselves and have already established a strong community.
398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bakkt will partner with Starbucks for Bitcoin on: November 03, 2019, 09:27:27 AM
Bakkt, a New York Stock Exchange-owner backed bitcoin and cryptocurrency venture, announced this week it plans to launch a consumer app for cryptocurrency purchases in 2020.

U.S. coffee chain Starbucks will be its first launch partner, with the company one of the original backers of the crypto project, along with software giant Microsoft and Boston Consulting Group.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/billybambrough/2019/10/31/forget-the-halvingcould-this-be-what-sends-bitcoin-soaring-next-year/#12640c6e3062

Bakkt is influential in the game. They are making steps that are beneficial for the growth of Bitcoin adoption. This consumer app in 2020 will be coming out just as the Bitcoin market is also anticipating the reward halving. This will add a positive vibe to the market.

Starbucks, Microsoft, and Boston Consulting Group. Big names! We will see how these rich institutions will affect Bitcoin's price as well as worldwide adoption. The game is getting exciting everyday!
399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is happening with ETHEREUM Now? on: November 03, 2019, 09:02:18 AM
Ethereum price is likely to climb above the $185 resistance against the US Dollar, while consolidating vs bitcoin. ETH price must stay above $178 to resume its upward move. Ether (ETH) has held the moving averages for the past few days but has failed to bounce off it. This increases the possibility of a break below the 20-day EMA.

Ethereum (ETH) is moving consistently sideways within the $180-$190 range. This is a natural movement of a strong altcoin which is also at the mercy of a more or less bullish Bitcoin. It will either fall or rise depending on the situation of the Bitcoin market. If Bitcoin will fall from the $9,000 limit, Ethereum (ETH) might get out of the $190 level and might break even the $200. But it is also a possibility that it is tagging along with Bitcoin.
400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO investors are more excited on exchanges than product developments? on: November 03, 2019, 08:38:56 AM
That is true. It is because ICO investors are treating ICOs as investment opportunities rather than projects that they will truly support. Although they are also making reviews and researches on the projects and their potentials, they do not have any plan to really make use of the products that the projects will release soon. They are only expecting that when these projects will reach the success that they are pursuing the prices of their coins or tokens will also gain price. And they will make profit.
