for me personally, Gavin was a huge reason i decided to support Bitcoin.  i graduated from a top notch graduate institution and as snooty as it might sound, he being a Princeton graduate does carry some credibility.  its a vetting process whether we like it or not.

there are many brilliant people here on the Forum.  Luke is obviously one of them.  but i would never put my support behind even THE most brilliant if i never met them and had a chance to evaluate their integrity.

brilliance can be used for subversion.

just sayin' as well.

WTF you are talking about? USA elections still far away...

you want to convince me that Gavin is a good father ( I saw his album ) and Luke was jerking when he was 18  and smoking weed every other day.. this is why BIP 16 is better???
382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Open Source Projects Survive Poisonous People on: January 31, 2012, 07:13:26 PM
Gavin is actually someone i'd let babysit my kid.

Bring your baby sitter to choose BIP... your are so stupid.. sorry for offense..

Next time ask dick size of the developers... on camera... with ruler
383  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Open Source Projects Survive Poisonous People on: January 31, 2012, 07:02:16 PM
how socially normal he is.... WTF is this... how sick one must be to say things like this...

Luke's behavior on this matter is simply impecable... I can not find any cavity in his position on this matter...

As much I want to break free from position we are stuck in, but I can't dismiss what this guy says...

All of you, developers, are great people... I hope we will go through these days with lot of experience and it will make us stronger as community.
384  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Deadlines and moving forward (BIP 16/17 support) on: January 31, 2012, 08:41:14 AM
can we see theymos idea + non-backwards compatible new standard?

a blockchain fork will have to happen in the future.

see this as a good testbed, practice run or training level.

if we cannot get it right then bitcoin is doomed.

I can agree to this if there will be a mechanism to preserve "wealth" of current network and transfer it into the new one..

Really, can you, developers, come up with a script that does this? Like CTRL-C CTRL-V
385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Truth behind BIP 16 and 17 (important read) on: January 31, 2012, 08:26:08 AM
I just want to underline that if miners will not agree with it they will be responsible for future of Bitcoin.

Please, make sure that in the long run we will find solution... but it can cost us chain forks (blood and revolutions)...

I hope we can stay away from it and keep unity... because otherwise things can go pretty nasty... I really would think twice before submitting myself to be responsible for BTC's future..

BTW, I like Tyco's approach... if he had taken any side it will be irresponsible for him...

386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BIP 16 / 17 in layman's terms on: January 30, 2012, 03:04:20 PM
Tycho, are you waiting for 50%+ of hashing power to confirm to activate any of the BIPs?
387  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: first 25 minutes on: January 29, 2012, 08:15:48 PM
Fees will go up if micro payments will come into the play... equilibrium will be found... fees influence transactions size and vice versa.
388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BIP 16 / 17 in layman's terms on: January 29, 2012, 08:12:44 PM
this is why 1 developer can = 50% of miners Smiley
389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BIP 16 / 17 in layman's terms on: January 29, 2012, 07:21:09 PM
I'm so sorry for my English...

People in order of importance who can spot problems in Bitcoin development direction...
390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BIP 16 / 17 in layman's terms on: January 29, 2012, 06:46:47 PM
If the miners refuse to switch it doesn't work. The devs can't force anything.

But this would pave light way to transition... If transition itself being questionable enough - miners can reject it... Only after this regular users will need to decide.

Small details what matters... People in order of importance

1st - developers
2nd - miners (poolops)
3rd - users

It will eliminate friction from the process...

391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BIP 16 / 17 in layman's terms on: January 29, 2012, 06:34:02 PM
Developers must vote on this, not regular "miners" ( as long developers are trusted)...

I will split my bounty between all developers involved, does not matter of what BIP will be accepted.

392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BIP 16 / 17 in layman's terms on: January 29, 2012, 04:45:00 PM
I thing the devs should take an opinion poll about changes, but ultimately they should set the deadline and have the final say. Anyone else can start their own fork and start their own volunteer network.

394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin prevalence by country on: January 27, 2012, 01:02:39 AM
I wonder why so many instances are in Russia and Ukraine.  I know that the Ukrainian banking system is viewed with great suspicion by its citizens.

It has nothing to do with banking system... I has a lot to do with education level.

or botnets Smiley
