381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin replace gold? on: October 10, 2017, 03:56:42 AM
Gold and Bitcoin have completely unique properties when it comes to how they are used as a store of value. Gold is a resource that has been valued by man for millennia and is said to be what humans collected for the ancient gods. Gold also has some healing elements attached to it as well as uses in engineering, chemistry, astrology, and science. Gold is a metal that can be found on other planets and asteroids as well.

Bitcoin, on the other hand, is a human-made creation that must make use of the storage of memory in terms of private keys and wallet encryption. The value of Bitcoin is backed by trust and the users that are on the platform. So, in essence, Gold and Bitcoin are similar in that they are both limited in quantity and wanted by all.

Where they differ is in the ease of access between the two assets. Bitcoin allows for instant transactions across the globe whereas Gold requires expensive protection and heavy cargo. In this respect, Bitcoin is potentially even more valuable than Gold.
382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happen If I want to invest bitcoin before the another fok the bitcoingold? on: October 10, 2017, 03:47:17 AM
The date of the Bitcoin Gold hard fork is on October 25th. If you are holding BTC on this date then you will receive Bitcoin Gold on August 1st.

If you purchase Bitcoin after October 25th, you will miss out on the Bitcoin Gold fork and the free dividend.

383  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Are Now Used in Crimes on: October 10, 2017, 03:40:09 AM
One of the first uses of Bitcoin was to be used in drug crimes. Back in 2010 Silk Road dominated the marketplace for Bitcoins back when they were $1-$2 a pop. People were essentially buying Bitcoins for the sole purpose of the Tor Network. The only transactions taking place were those on the Tor network which is where a lot of shady stuff happened. Eventually, the authorities cracked down on the perpetrators of Silk Road and many buyers of the drug ecommerce store as well. It wasn't until more sophisticated apps, developers, and businesses started adopting Bitcoin is when it stopped being used for crimes.

Overall, it seems quite obvious that Bitcoin will be used in crimes from now until the end of time. But that's definitely not the only use  Grin
384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin on: October 09, 2017, 07:47:20 PM
Bitcoin is a great investment. If you are looking for an asset with long-term growth potential Bitcoin is an excellent store of value and also as secure as a Swiss bank. Currently, the cryptocurrency is still in its early phases when it comes to the mainstream adopting it as a secure asset for retirement and families.

Although, I have heard of a few companies offering Bitcoin for 401k's and IRA's don't rest your laurels on getting paid from your employer in Bitcoin. If you really want to invest in Bitcoin I would recommend checking out Regal Assets, Regal Wallet program. Feel free to read more about what you can do here: https://www.smartbitcoininvestments.com
385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, and Bitcoin 2x... Oh my! on: October 06, 2017, 05:20:32 AM
Get used to the forks. This is the developer's way of putting work into Bitcoin and making slight incremental improvements. Sure, the majority of the hard forks have been useless (except maybe Litecoin) but I'm sure in the future the upgrades will be significant enough that they will warrant attention from the rest of us. Bitcoin is slow, expensive and clunky, but it will be used as the legacy system for future upgrades.

The smart play here is to buy Bitcoins and hold during every hard fork. It's unpredictable to tell which forks will be more valuable than others. So immediately reinvesting your forked Bitcoins back into Bitcoin could be a very profitable strategy.

It may end up that one version of Bitcoin (Bitcoin Gold, maybe?) could become the miner's favorite, the original Bitcoin could be the investors favorite, and maybe some type of Bitcoin in the future will benefit banks and corporations. Maybe we'll have the perfect version with 0 transactions fees, and instant confirmations.....who knows. Even if each new version feels the same, the point is that each hard fork is an upgrade of some kind.
386  Economy / Speculation / Re: Another Bitcoin fork on 25 October on: October 06, 2017, 03:40:30 AM
I think bitcoin price will grow massively before the fork.
People will try to get free bitcoin gold
For that people need to have bitcoin in their wallet.
And remember Bitcoin will always remain King.

This.

I think the upcoming fork has more potential than Bitcoin Cash ever did. Reason being is that Bitcoin Gold is going to introduce a new Proof Of Work algorithm to benefit new miners coming into the ecosystem: From SHA256 to Equihash, CPU mining vs GPU mining. The difference in efficiency between these two is massive.

Essentially, this is one step towards making Bitcoin mining more accessible to all. Currently, miners and manufacturers are centralized in China. It is a problem when a small group of people controls mining globally. This switch should help to diversify GPU mining (which can calculate WAY more processes than CPU) around the world.

Even though most of us are investors or hobbyists, I would stay optimistic as this hard fork is going to have the biggest impact on miners.

Bitcoin is still King, but I wouldn't be surprised if Bitcoin Gold actually gains momentum with miners....or....banks?
387  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The DEATH of Bitcoin Surfaces Again on: October 06, 2017, 01:50:03 AM
I think its funny that you are freaking out about the price dropping  Cheesy This is normal, and honestly, a $100 fluctuation is not a big deal for Bitcoin. I would start getting worried if the price dipped below $1,000 for a few weeks at a time, otherwise, I think you need to expand your scope of knowledge on investing.

Now is a great time to buy Bitcoins honestly  Grin There is a hard fork (Bitcoin Gold) coming up on October 25th, so if you hold Bitcoins until Nov 1st you will receive an equivalent payout in Bitcoin Gold. Obviously, this means many people are going to buy Bitcoins just for the dividend investment opportunity, hence the price is going to go up because people will be buying as the date gets closer. I have a feeling all the noise from last month was so the whales could buy more Bitcoins before the upcoming Bitcoin Gold hard fork and, of course, Segwit2x.

Don't get fooled by what the media says and let them affect your buy/sell decisions... Simply invest in businesses/stocks/cryptocurrencies with solid fundamentals and you won't have to listen to the noise over a long period of time. I'm shocked more people on this forum don't read Buffet. I'd recommend you check out some of his books.

Just keep calm and hodl Bitcoin.
388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will My Bitcoins be Safe During Bitcoin Gold Hardfork and November's Hardfork? on: October 06, 2017, 01:36:40 AM
As long as you own your BTC private keys, meaning a.k.a you aren't storing your Bitcoins on an exchange, you will receive your Bitcoin Gold by keeping your Bitcoins in a secure wallet for the duration of the hard fork. Any hardware wallet or app-based wallet should be good. Even a site like FreeBitco.in will pay out Bitcoin Gold. Make sure to do your research before ultimately making a decision.

Details on the upcoming hard fork:

Bitcoin Gold (BTG)

“Make Bitcoin Decentralized Again”

Forks: October 25th, 2017
Live to Exchanges: August 1st, 2017

Goals:
- Create a truly decentralized Bitcoin
- Proof Of Work: From SHA256 to Equihash, CPU mining vs GPU mining
- Make mining more accessible to all
- Make “big” miners less relevant

389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you still use Bitcoin if it stabilised at around USD$5000? on: October 06, 2017, 01:29:03 AM
Theoretically, by definition of an investment, the situation of Bitcoin price stabilizing at $5,000 for an undefined amount of time is impossible. Since there are limited quantities, and it is a tool that can be used as a transfer of value between two or more individuals, the value of it will inevitably fluctuate. Can we predict that buy and sell orders will be constant through all periods, including those of turmoil and excitement? No.

You have to look at the fundamentals of Bitcoin to truly make theoretical assumptions about where the price can go. There is a limited quantity of BTC that will ever be mined and user adoption is still in its early stages. The price is already quite "expensive" for the average onlooker.

Another big benefit that I don't think was mentioned here is the occurrence of hard forks, which are essentially dividends for Bitcoin holders. So even if the price stays around $5000 you will still make a good return on your investment. This is a little-known fact most people forget about.

From the standpoint of who owns Bitcoin, it is the miners and the large financial whales (like the Winklevoss twins), these are the people who are either creating supply or driving demand through the media  Wink

So, essentially over the long run most people are going to be buying up Bitcoins and saving them as investments - thus driving up the value in the process. And those in possession of it get to benefit from hard fork dividends that can be reinvested into BTC.

@smartbitcoininvestor Do 5 extra posts this week.

Appreciate the change of heart and transparency with the campaign.

Will do my best with 35 posts this week.

Dang I'm very sad I was only 5 posts away from payment. lol for some reason I thought pay day was on Wednesday   Undecided

Atriz, how is it that error08 and Kyraishi received payment when they didn't reach the 30 post quota? Can I at least receive partial payment as well for the work I have put in?

I promise to get in 35 posts next week if it helps.
You had 5 posts missing, they had 1 or 3. Plus Kyraishi had pretty good post quality

Will you accept senior pay rates, but you only need to do 20 posts? If you do, you are in.

If you mean that i only need to do 20 posts, but i only get paid 0.02 BTC per week, then sure. I'll take that.

BTW, how long is the campaign going to run for?
5 more weeks, have added you to spreadsheet.

What? How is it that Yuuto gets accepted for 20 posts?? The majority of my posts are very high quality with well informed answers. I also have multiple threads that I started with a TON of views. We don't even track clicks to the signature on this campaign and if we did I'm sure I'd be one of the top referrers.

I honestly think you're being biased bro. You're going to let this guy do 20 posts and let other get away with 27 or 29? Rules are rules. If people don't meet the quota they shouldn't get paid. And if you are going to be selective about it then you need to pay us all. Otherwise This isnt even a well run signature campaign - things need to be more fair.

If you check back via the threads, he was a hero member and I let him take senior payments for a longer post count. He was also in chipmixer, so your post quality doesn't even match his little toe.

I had counted posts 2 hours earlier than normal, so some people could have still made 2-3 posts during that time, while 5 posts is too much.

Thanks for the negative btw.

Will check participants later.

Are you serious? Why haven't you own up to your own rules for the signature campaign? I don't even know what chipmixer is and it has nothing to do with the ACTUAL clicks that we are working to get from our signatures.

Just because you are the campaign manager doesn't mean you can make up rules on the fly for why some people get paid, while others don't. You should adhere to your own rules, otherwise I and everyone else on this campaign can only take what you say with a grain of salt.

394  Economy / Speculation / Re: When the price of the BTC will be equal to $ 10 000 ? on: October 03, 2017, 08:37:35 PM
If I had to predict I would say sometime in early 2018. The price of Bitcoin still has a lot of room to fluctuate this year over media mentions. I think once the mainstream starts adopting BTC into banks, ecommerce, services, etc is when we will see Bitcoin price really go up past $10,000.

The ironic thing is that most people are looking at Bitcoin as an investment rather than a currency, so if you just hold on it, Bitcoins should be the greatest investment you ever make.

396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Getting porn sites to accept bitcoin on: October 02, 2017, 03:18:39 AM
You asked; and you received my friend. It looks like the porn world is mostly accepting Bitcoin payments. Though I am not sure who pays for porn nowadays - maybe those with HD or 4K quality fetishes it makes sense, but otherwise there's plenty of free sites.

Btw, PayPal transactions are private and secure as well. Not anonymous, but very private and secure. If you are looking for anonymity don't use debit/credit cards.

398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: will we succeed with bitcoin? on: October 02, 2017, 03:01:23 AM
There is only one Bitcoin. So if you consider being born 100 years ago or 100 years from now, Bitcoin would not be an opportunity for you to create massive wealth. As long as the blockchain technology has no fatal flaws then it is a good possibility that the blockchain concept will be used for digital monetary transactions now and in the future.

I am sure that 100 years from now we will have more advanced types of cryptocurrencies, possibly even a few forks from Bitcoin. While other currencies attempt to add complexity or unique utility to their coins, Bitcoin offers the greatest of all which is simply a store of value.
399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen to Bitcoin if China shuts all physical Internet cables. on: October 01, 2017, 06:35:38 AM
Nothing would technically "happen" to Bitcoin. it would still exist and people across Earth could still make transactions on the blockchain.

There would, however, be an effect on mining and subsequently mining block reward sizes and the overall viability of mining Bitcoins here in the United States. So this kind of news could have a large impact with those who are thinking about mining Bitcoin, especially since the upcoming Bitcoin Gold fork is centered around GPU mining.
400  Economy / Digital goods / BitcoinGold.org on: October 01, 2017, 04:41:28 AM
Hello guys, so I own the domain name for the upcoming Bitcoin hard fork (bitcoingold.org). I am currently fielding a few offers coming from my email inbox, however, I wanted to make sure it is listed here as well.

I am not too sure the value of it but I have received offers in the range of $1000 to $5000. I know the domain has GREAT potential because it is the main name for the fork of a future cryptocurrency (For reference, the main Bitcoin Gold website is btcgpu.org which is kind of terrible for a domain name). So ideally, you would be able to create a resource and sell Bitcoin Gold on the site and naturally attract visitors.

Feel free to comment here or PM me if you have a specific offer or question. Cheers!
