One of the last posts before our long awaited ICO shall focus on Activists and Activism.

In addition to a focus on product development the ACT team has been forging alliances and connections with activists and movements globally.

In August after the successful pre-ICO we returned to Wales to learn more about the technical complexities of the planned open cast coal mine near Aberthaw coal power station in Wales. It was difficult to listen to the tales of skullduggery that big business had used to put profit ahead of people’s health and our planet’s future. Above, Phil, Chair of UVAG United Valleys Action Group described how the company responsible for the mine (below on his doorstep) paid contractors to “offer to wash their cars” so that the community would unwittingly get rid of evidence of the harmful coal dust pollution.

While in the UK, we also went further North where a community led by Grandmothers, thats right you heard me — Nanas, are fighting fracking. They are doing this because they are determined to protect their grandchildren. It might sound funny, but this Nanas movement has grown to hundreds of hubs across the North East of England who have mobilized and coordinated. The fracking company is fighting them in the courts but it seems like the Nanas don’t particularly care if they get fined and are quite happy to argue in court that they should be allowed to walk along the road at a pace consistent with their physical condition even if that does cost the fracking company millions of dollars because their equipment cant get past them. Oh dear …

Our community is developing a smart contract that will allow supporter everywhere to contribute ETH which will automatically be sent to Nana’s all over the UK to support their travel costs to support the resistance.

These Nanas will not be stopped, and believe me, the authorities have become more and more intimidating. In the rainy scene above we were moved on by Police just a few minutes after taking a picture with the fracking site in the background.

In the IBM Watson AI XPRIZE competition, DropDeck earned recognition and support from world-class AI experts, and made findings in complementing AI applications with blockchain features.

The market for funding ICOs, startups, and SMEs is over $300 billion. As capital flows into the DropDeck economy, the token value will increase exponentially. Up to half of the revenue in tokens will be burned, increasing the token value by depleting the total supply. Also the team and advisors have been working with 15 exchanges to guarantee token liquidity.

After substantial interest, DropDeck quickly sold out the private sales with no marketing, raising 3,300 ETH.

Metaverse 2018 Roadmap

Metaverse has and will continue to follow the overall development path outlined in our white paper. In 2017, we focused on developing digital assets and digital asset exchange capabilities, with two major version releases (v0.6.0 and v0.7.0) and twelve minor version releases (0.6.1-0.6.10, and 0.7.1-0.7.2).

Moving forward, in 2018, Metaverse will begin to shift its focus to the development of digital identities, Digital Asset 2.0 and Blockchain-as-a-Service (BaaS).

The email says that first 3000 users who register in a google document of participants will receive 20 free BTR tokens. Also there is an incorrect address of the wallet where fraudsters ask to send 0.0035 ETH “fees” to process the transfer of tokens to the wallet of a user.

Groestlcoin Easyminer 2018 release

This has been my community-driven project. Thank you to all of the Beta/RC testers that have provided feedback. I'll state what has changed from Easyminer 2.0 and then state what the plans are for this miner in 2018.

• Totally overhauled UI. In fact the new Easyminer was written from the ground-up as a direct replacement for the existing Easyminer, based off of feedback from the old version as well as feedback throughout.

• Now have to manually install Electrum-GRS if you want to automatically have the address come over. This is to prevent previous issues of the packaged version becoming out of date. Don't worry, a quick-start guide will open on first-launch with instructions! (More on this later).

• The previous version, when using Dwarfpool, pointed you to the Canadian pool, regardless of where you were. This version will see which pool (CA/EU) has the best latency and use that one instead.

• Uses 2 different detection methods to try and automatically select the correct GPU. If it detects incorrectly, the user can manually change the options of what to mine with.
Please note some people have had issues starting the miner due to a SlimDX issue. If you get an error when launching, please go to here: https://slimdx.org/download.php and download/install the .Net 4.0 x86 download.

• Can now mine with CPU AND GPU if required. You are now more in control than ever.

• Can now accept custom pool addresses with or without the 'stratum+tcp://' part. The miner isn't fussy so it is your choice whether to include it or not 🙂

• Better log integration in the app. Now multi-line for nVidia and CPU which are logged directly in the app (AMD is currently launched separately in a command window still).

• More reliable Electrum address finding. Previously was using an external .VB script which run on launch, this is now done entirely within code and should be more reliable (Had reports of the wrong address appearing on the previous version).

• Added an 'About' screen with site address, donation address, reddit page etc.

• On first launch, a setup screen will appear to guide and help the user. Can access this again if Electrum-GRS is not set up by using the 'Reset Wallet' button.

• Updated nVidia miner - Uses a new version of ccminer which seems faster for Groestlcoin and allows intensity settings.

• Added a 'View Dwarfpool' link, to easy access the dwarfpool address status page (To view payouts etc.)

• Added donation tab for donating to development and marketing funds.

An update on APPC: Starting 2018 with good news!

The year of 2017 had been a great year for AppCoins: the publishing of the white paper, the building of a strong community in Telegram and Bitcointalk, and the successful ICO reaching the hard cap 3 weeks before the ending date.

The token will be released on Friday, Jan 5, at 4:00pm UTC.

We are happy to announce great news: an agreement with a top exchange has been reached and AppCoins team is working with them to list right after the token release (same day).

After the release of an Alpha Casper Testnet, the AppCoins team is deploying a node and start tests. The performance is expected to be poor, but the purpose is to see how the implemented proof-of-stake can have impact in AppCoins use cases.

In parallel, after meeting with the Raiden team in DevCon3, we are implementing a µRaiden proof-of-concept with the in-app purchases use case during this month of January. Both teams are in contact and we expect to publish a medium post and a video with the summary of this effort early .
