3801  Economy / Reputation / Re: This user was scammed by bitcointalk account seller (Deserve Tag?) on: July 31, 2020, 11:17:26 PM
Buying accounts is technically not against the forum rules, but it's unethical and highly discouraged.

Account selling causes harm in the Forum either through scamming, or deception (or any one of a dozen other ways).  There will be those who will tag these accounts and hopefully over time the sale of accounts (coupled with the need to accumulate merits) will dwindle as more high end accounts become unsalable.  Any well known accounts that seem to have been sold or hacked (think "Bruno") will also get tagged so you're right, sales aren't "illegal", but they are heavily frowned upon.

Given some well known accounts have fallen silent in recent months, I can't help but wonder if Theymos has told these users to choose between their alts and allowing just one voice to remain while the rest are silenced.
3802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Casinos should close until the end of the pandemic era. on: July 31, 2020, 04:50:52 PM
Undecided To be honest, this new reality is somewhat depressing. If this continues for a long time, we will see many associated problems such as increased levels of mental disorders / suicide, etc.
The city in which I live is now the peak of the holiday season and there are practically no problems associated with the virus, but I'm afraid to imagine what awaits us again in the fall.

I don't feel people staying at home or wearing masks for a few weeks/months is as depressing as you may think.

If you look back to the last Global Pandemic (the so-called Spanish Flu) the world bounced back fairly quickly with less developed research.  The Roaring twenties then occurred along with the introduction of leaded fuel in every car.  The end of the Roaring Twenties gave way to the Great Depression which then gave us Fascism & WW II.

I like to think we can steer clear of what happens after the roaring twenties - unless we bring back Flappers, Art Deco and Style that'd give you whiplash! Speakeasies...

What ever happened to that proposed reality TV program that was promising to send a crew to Mars (one way) with the landing / viewing as pay per view?
3804  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is it a right approach a campaign decides where you to post? on: July 31, 2020, 03:49:10 AM
...

It's a form of contract you are undertaking - "In consideration for posting in these sections of the forum, we will make payment at the following rates."  The wording might differ from campaign to campaign, but in essence you are being paid to post (unedited I hasten to add).

In theory you could also be contracted to allow editorial content, but then again that could almost be construed as farming alt accounts.
3805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should there be any age limit of Gambling? on: July 31, 2020, 01:22:34 AM
The problem here though is that not all of these sites can actually filter who visits their sites.

And as @Timelord said, most of the betting games are now being transported to mobiles which children nowadays have in their early ages, obviously they will be able to play that. The parents are the key and I agree that we might not need age limits when that happened, they would be able to take care of themselves.

We'll all probably end up with our own block chain where learning institutes/govt agencies/employers issue us some sort of digital token that's a combination of their credentials and our own which we then add to our (PGP style key ring) and then that (key ring) is written to our block-chain.

We then use that block-chain (genesis block? etc) for identity/age verification such as at Casinos, Clubs, Restaurants, Pubs or Bars.

I can't recall which thread covers this, but does this link https://loyce.club/trust/selfscratchers/131361.html update, or was it a one off?  I'd actually forgotten I had it bookmarked and just came across it again.  The Trust list link is for week 18, so I'd say it hasn't been viewed for over a year.

China just recently launched it's second attempted mission to Mars.  The Tianwen-1 mission should reach Mars in early 2021, after a 7-month journey.  Their not alone, the UAE also launched a mission to mission to Mars, the EMM-HOPE.

I haven't heard much about the Emirates' space program, but I've heard of the Chinese's a few times.  So it got me thinking about if they're going to actually make it this time.  And whether the UAE's ship will make it too.  I'm not a gambler, so I'm only wondering out of curiosity.  What do the odds maker's think?

NASA just launched yet another probe on its way to Mars overnight, so it's now a three horse race.  What would be interesting is if one or more of these rovers were set to land, survey then set out to rendezvous with each-other.
3808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should there be any age limit of Gambling? on: July 31, 2020, 01:01:13 AM
Some regulation regards this matter is needed, like everything else in our society to keep it organized.
16 years old should be the age. A person on that age is already an adult and can live accordingly. This individual can drink, drive, work, live and respond by himself and of course he can gamble! Well, at least that should work that way, but I know most countries overprotects its young citizens and treat them as children until the 30 years old, what only creates more insecurity, fear and ADDICTION...

What sort of credit rating do you suppose a 16 year old is going to have and what sort of premiums would they have to pay to get behind the wheel of a car and go out into the world drink driving?  Age limits are there for a reason, and something to look forward to attaining.
3809  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Best way to store bitcoins safely without a hardware wallet(ledger, etc) on: July 31, 2020, 12:54:33 AM
Shopping List:  A form of sheet metal, (galvanised steel etc) an engraver a pencil and ruler and an hour or so.

Transfer your coins to a paper wallet that you have rolled offline, engrave the private key onto the sheet metal (store in a safe place until needed).  Destroy the paper wallet once you have verified what you engraved is what you intended to have engraved.
Yeah, that metal idea is a pretty good one.  I actually have a steelwallet that I got when I bought my ledger, and it's a pretty solid way to store seed words.  Those are way too expensive IMO, however.

Ages ago the SexCoin community stumbled upon a trader who was creating jewlery with QR codes etched/printed on them for persons collecting payments but not needing to cash out immediately - more practical than being handed cash for services about to begin then being robbed of that cash later on.

https://www.etsy.com/market/qr_code_jewelry

Even better, easier and cheaper, is to buy a piece of normal cheap PVC pipe used in waste water systems.
Carve your private key or seed words to that, and bury it somewhere where no-one will be building new buildings or anything in the future. Preferable to your own land or your relatives land Smiley

I'd always be concerned the pipe would be crushed or melt or some other calamity befall it.
3810  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Casinos are open - end of the Pandemic era. on: July 31, 2020, 12:37:50 AM
Not just casinos but also bars where it is said that they are still throwing parties in there. As far as I know they are now restricting those and I hope it can help them decrease that spike.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/nevada-coronavirus-restrictions-bars-restaurants-again-as-covid-hospitalizations-spike/

The title of the web article and the first paragraph say it all:

Quote
Nevada tightens restrictions again as COVID hospitalizations "spike"

Carson City, Nevada — Governor Steve Sisolak announced Thursday that Nevada would re-implement restrictions on bars and restaurants in certain counties to prevent further spread of coronavirus due to what he called a "spike" in confirmed cases. "We're still watching a continued increase in confirmed and suspected COVID-19 hospitalizations," he said.

Basically Social Distancing and curtailed movement in venues such as Clubs, Pubs, Bars and Casinos are the new normal until such time as there is a vaccine.

Learn to live with it.
3811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should there be any age limit of Gambling? on: July 31, 2020, 12:34:02 AM
The question here should be how their parents are making their children ready financially or making their children financial literate. If that is the case we don't need to limit the age and I agree that there are some children that can still gamble in tender age anyways even though a gambling site doesn't allow them to do so.

Pin Ball Machines are a form of gambling (the wager is whether you "win" a free game) The same is true for Arcade Video Games.  Such machines are controlled by Gaming Laws.

Children spend their pocket money playing games - it's now ported onto the mobile phones and there are no controls over how much play time let alone money children spend on these gaming sites.

@Timelord2067 I'll update my offline copy right now. Sounds good to me but isn't it redundant if we report here the connected alts along with his ban accounts and then post it again in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5094661.0?
To @Timelord2067 please refrain from my reply above on why I didn't have to include the "Reporting" branch in this format. I'll just directly report this to mod within this link for them to look into.

Essentially, this thread is where you post the bulk of the details.  In the other threads or to CM/mods you post a very brief outline of who is banned with a link to this thread (i.e. your own post).

I mean in the "n Accounts Connected:" you colored them there red and that means they're ban and it's kind of reporting in its sense that they are really ban or doing ban evasion. What I do when I report ban evasion case/s is I directly linked it in this thread and it will be redundant if we post it again on that thread, hope you know what I mean. By the way, why not these on the note "(Note: Banned shown in red / Inactive in Blue / Active in default hyperlinked format)". Just a suggestion.

I like your solution to the following, I've tweaked it a little:

"(Note: Banned shown in red / Inactive in Blue / Active profile (in ordinary link colour))".

The Submission Form has been tweaked/updated with the above minor modification.

Kudos.

I like the traction engine pics that have been posted here.  There used to be a few in various parks around Brisbane, (Toowong, Kangaroo Point, Ithica Park etc) but they all got quietly taken away due to Occupational Health etc (that and asbestos inside their boilers rusting away).  The same fate saw a couple of Steam Locomotives removed from Ithica Park & Spring Hill as well as the B.C.C. are too afraid to have anyone climbing on such structures.  Not that anyone ever fell off of such things.

The last couple of years the RNA Ekka have had a hand-full of Traction engines under steam parked along Gregory Terrace during the Ekka, including one stripping corn from the cob, but alas, there's no Ekka this year.

Your "old" account merited other users on the 9th of April 2018, on the 23rd of June 2018 the password changed and a week after that you start a thread with your new account to recover the old account then eight hours later your old account fell silent.

Going back through your old posts, you got scammed 20 December 2017, 02:52:46 Scammed twice in one day... 140 and 150€ other than that your posts are unremarkable having sold a couple of items and they give your location.  (it'd be funny if those other users also gave the same location now wouldn't it??)
3815  Economy / Reputation / Re: [4] Account; Ban evasion & cheating in campaigns. on: July 29, 2020, 12:33:02 PM
I think that one thread about alternative accounts is enough. It is also possible to draw up reports on violations of the ban evasion. In the message to the moderator, simply add a link to the report.
I know a similar thread in the Russian local department. If you submit reports in a simple format, the moderators always react very quickly and the offender is instantly banned.

We already have it here [Report] Ban Evasion [Requesting Admin/mod to check those and ban], it seems that thread doesn't active like Known Alts of any-one created by Timelord2067

But well, we can still use it.

I have posted a rather lengthy post in the Known Alts thread urging people to post first there, then report to CM via PM then report ban evasion the the mentioned thread.

Would everyone reading this please follow the link and familiarise themselves with the posts' contents.

Thanks.
3816  Economy / Reputation / Re: Known Alts of any-one - UPDATE YOUR SUBMISSION FORM IMMEDIATELY! on: July 29, 2020, 12:18:59 PM
Following on from a discussion in this thread concerning reporting of alts as opposed to the reporting of ban evasion, I have had it reminded to me that there is a separate thread that covers ban evasion.

As a result, I have made two changes to the Submission Form, one was done a couple of days ago changing the URL for profile links to the new BPIP format that was implemented by @suchmoon and @ibminer.  See the bottom of the post for the new Submission Form.

The other change concerns the actual reporting of ban evasion.

The three steps you should take in reporting ban evasion are as follows:

  • Report alts here using the Submission Form
  • Advise any Campaign Managers directly via PM of the connections you have found - (an outline with a link back to this thread)
  • Report Ban evasion.

Ban evasion should be reported in this thread: [Report] Ban Evasion [Requesting Admin/mod to check those and ban]

The format for reporting ban evasion should take the following format:

Code:
Username:
Link to the thread with archived:

If you have an offline copy of the Submission Form, please update it to the following:

Australia has the NRL https://www.nrl.com/ for League and Australian Rugby https://australia.rugby/ for what we call Union Rules.

Many online Casinos and Gaming Sites have Rugby as a gaming option, however, there doesn't seem to be any discussion thread for the the game and the odds offered here on BitCoinTalk.

Anyone want to discuss Rugby and the wagers being placed on games?  I saw last weekend the Brisbane Broncos has odds of 44:1 for them winning (they then lost  Roll Eyes ) - what'll they pay this week?  Will the Bronk's tank again?

Also, what are the various other countries Rugby games' websites and which online casinos and gaming sites cover their fixtures?

Discussion of the Women's Competitions is also welcome.

Let's talk.

I'm pretty sure this discussion was covered a few weeks back, but in any case look up "Age of Majority" on any search engine.

Here's a link to Wikipedia's information: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_majority

Basically, it talks about the threshold that people consider a person to be an Adult.  Casinos and other gambling venues are governed by their own countries' laws surrounding when that government considers a person to have become an adult.
3819  Economy / Reputation / Re: [4] Account; Ban evasion & cheating in campaigns. on: July 29, 2020, 01:21:12 AM
Instead of trying to gain notoriety wouldn't it be better to just pm the manager with proof? Then tag the users? And then if nothing happens make this thread?

not busting your balls, but come on man, save us some trouble.

I'd've preferred this thread (and a whole lot of others) be in the Known Alts thread myself for the very same reasons ...   Roll Eyes

Very odd character, nullius. Super intelligent dude, strange how he returns to the forum, is quite active & then disappears for a long time. He’ll be back, of that I have zero doubt.

Given you're a 48 hour 55 hour old expert on the matter, I think I might just take that as a comment (as Tony Jones #QandA might say)  Roll Eyes
