3805  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why to have Sotoshi exposed is actually a good thing for the bitcoin community on: March 08, 2014, 12:31:59 PM
Well, I can't say what's intriguing about Sotoshi, but Satoshi is a genius!

3807  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 08, 2014, 11:42:36 AM
You don't have to have ntp enabled in order for it to hash, just deselect the option and save and apply. I then suggest switching the ant off and on again so it boots up from scratch and that should take care of the problem...

Sometimes saving doesn't work very well and you need to click save and then click on the red text in the top right which brings you to a screen listing the changes... then click save and apply.

Edit: if it hangs on updating cgminer, you can wait for a minute and switch it off and on and the setting should be saved... I suggest switching ntp off first.

He will still need to SSH to it.
And depending on his Ant version there is a slight difference (from v1.4 to v1.5).

If you need help with SSH to disable NTP just let me know Smiley

3808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Facts: Is Dorian the real Satoshi or Not? on: March 08, 2014, 10:25:13 AM
it can't be him, he's old and just not.. cool

Well, he is a geek, how cool to you expect him to be?  Wink

That being said, I do not think it's the real Satoshi either.

3810  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 07, 2014, 08:42:19 PM
Hi i am new to antminer S1 and i cannot connect my browser to 192.168.1.99 which is my antminer ip

i try to change the TCP/IPV4 to

ip address : 192.168.1.188  <--- change this to 192.168.2.188
subnet : 255.255.255.0
default gateway : 192.168.1.1  <--- change this to 192.168.2.1

prefered DNS : 8.8.8.8
alternative dns : blank

and also try the default antminer tutorial

IP Address: 192.168.2.254
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.2.1

Both also no luck can anyone please help me thank you

Then open your favorite browser and browse to: 192.168.2.254

Considering of course that your ant came with a sticker saying that the address is 192.168.2.254

If not post your Ant's sticker (IP) details here.

Sorry i am kinda noob here

The Antiner Sticker is 192.168.1.99

But my internet default gateway is 192.168.0.1

so if i change the default gateway

i try to change the TCP/IPV4 to

ip address : 192.168.1.188
subnet : 255.255.255.0
default gateway : 192.168.1.1

i lost my internet connection and yes the miner is directly connect to my router with antenna

it has  port and the ant miner is connected to the last port

OK, on your PC or Laptop set the IPv4 settings to:
IP: 192.168.1.254
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1

DIRECTLY connect your Ant to your PC or Laptop using a LAN cable.

Once you do that pwoer up your Ant, give it a minute or so.

Then from your PC or Laprtop browse to: 192.168.1.99

Then you shall see the Ant's interface.

This guy is in his 60's, has had a stroke and looks after his 93 year old mother. His privacy has been invaded and who knows how much stress he is under. I don't think anyone is wasting their coins by donating a few dollars to him.

Andreas - I would suggest trying to get part of the funds already raised to him in the next 3 or 4 days, rather than wait to the end of March.

I'm sure he needs it now, not when the fuss has died down. Let's not collect all this cash and yet keep the guy waiting, so he has to sing for his sushi in the meantime  Undecided

+1
End of March is too late.
He needs our support NOW!!!!
3812  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Andreas Antonopolous raising funds for Dorian Nakamoto on: March 07, 2014, 08:22:02 PM

Correct Address
1Dorian4RoXcnBv9hnQ4Y2C1an6NJ4UrjX

WTF does that mean?

That my donation doesn't count?

EDIT: Or are you just trying to scam us?

some douchebag changed the correct addy in his post, proving yet again that escaping dumb assholes is impossible.

I'd suggest going to the reddit page and following that link if there is any confusion.

Δηλαδή όταν έκανα donation στο 1Dorian4RoXcnBv9hnQ4Y2C1an6NJ4UrjX πήγε σωστα έτσι?

Για να ξέρω αν πρέπει να ξανακάνω Wink

If he is the real Satoshi or not, he is a man of principle and money/bitcoin is not the most important thing in his life. Leave the man alone. I know it is hard for most of you to believe that some people do not put money first in their life. He likes his privacy. If you ask him, he would tell you to keep your damn charity. He does not want or need your handout. Maybe you should just ask him first so you do not insult him.
I don't know, he was quick to demand a free lunch.

Not just that, the guy already lost his house once coz he couldn't afford to make the payments.

3817  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: TheShowOff-all ANTMINER mining rigs. on: March 07, 2014, 07:52:10 PM

So when the web interface says 45C, they're really upwards of 80C?

I guess so. I thought the thermal specs on the chips were much lower than 80C.

Question here:
Wouldn't the machine just shut down when it reaches a very high temperature?
3818  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [The biggest mining machine supplier]Avalon Miner 200GH/s $800 In Stock on: March 07, 2014, 06:30:56 PM
OK, prove it by having 10 miners mining at the address in my signature for 10 minutes using eligius.

Then post the eligius stats page for the address here.

Thank you Smiley

var posterName:String = "Satoshi";

if((!signed) && (posterName == "Satoshi")){

return false;

}else{

return true;

}

RESULT = FALSE
