There are many people who think letting America host the 2026 world cup was a wrong decision and that they will have problems visiting this country to watch the World Cup games but I disagree and I think since America got the experience of hosting other great tournaments, they won't disappoint us and we are going to see a better world cup than what we saw in Qatar.

Obviously it will be better than Qatar and at least there will be no discrimination against unmarried couples and beer will be made available at the stadiums. Hotel rooms will be less expensive and travel will also be easier. But none of this matters, if the fans are unable to get a visa. Anyway, we have 3 years to go for the start of the tournament. Hopefully we will get some clarification regarding the visa issue by then. BTW, a lot can happen in three years. POTUS election is scheduled in around one and half years, for example. It's outcome can have a huge impact on the visa rules.

I think Bengaluru will be able to qualify for the knockout round. I watched Bengaluru's performance against Rajasthan Royals in the last match. They won by 112 runs. Due to the great performance of the bowlers, Rajasthan Royals lost all the wickets for just 59 runs. They will face Hyderabad in today's match. This team is also one of the weaker teams this season. And so if Bengaluru's players can perform with some responsibility then their chances of winning are high. As today's match is a do-or-die match for Bengaluru, I think Bengaluru will perform well in today's match and be able to win.

As I mentioned before, Royal Challengers Bangalore is a very volatile team. And they are overdependent on a few players. As far as batting is concerned, they are heavily dependent on the trio of Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell. The lower order, comprised mainly of Mahipal Lomror, Dinesh Karthik and Anuj Rawat is yet to contribute with the bat. Fortunately for the RCB fans, now the management has decided not to include Shahbaz Ahmed in the playing XI, and he was neither good with the bat, nor with the ball. Bowling looks stronger though, with the addition of Wayne Parnell.

I want to know if this only happens to OP? Because cases like this seems rare. Usually, when it comes to KYC an ID is already enough and some selfies or I don't know, maybe the OP have done some violations or maybe the amount involved is too huge? That is why his KYC is a bit different than the rest of us. He is doubting if he will share his bank details because he is here asking for a second opinion if he will do it or not.

Casino to have contact on our banks seems a good idea because if in case we became addicted, they can order that bank to stop our withdrawals if the purpose is for gambling but not all casino will do this because it can lessen their income.

Without knowing which online gambling site the OP is referring to, it is extremely difficult to reach a conclusion. In the past, I have registered in 4-5 online casinos and only one of them asked for KYC (I chose not to undergo the process). Anyway, if the site is asking for banking documents, then they should specify that in their T&C at the time of registering to the site. I haven't heard of any of these sites asking for documents other than IDs and residential proof, but it might have happened. BTW, I am getting curious. OP hasn't posted here after the initial post. Does anyone know what happened? Has this issue been resolved?

^^ If SRH manages to produce some upset tonight then RCB's situation at the table will become very tricky.

It Would be really funny if RCB lose one of their remaining matches and it's very much on the table, considering their choking history. True RCBian fans would agree.  Grin

RCB has two matches remaining. If they win both of them, then they will end up with 16 points. That should be enough to earn a playoff spot. The first one is easy, as it is against Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, the second match is going to be tough and they will be facing the top-ranked Gujarat Titans. But then we are talking about Royal Challengers Bangalore, the eternal chokers of Indian Premier League. I won't be much surprised even if they lose to SRH today and get kicked out of the playoffs. They have lost 3 out of their last 5 matches anyway.
3805  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia and others, move to use Yuan instead of dollar. on: May 18, 2023, 05:23:23 AM
Both are fiat currencies controlled by the central banks of the respective countries. I am not sure whether anyone else other than China will benefit, if CNY is used more for international trade rather than USD. China will be able to take loans at extremely low interest rates, similar to what the USA is doing now. And it is going to benefit their citizens immensely. But then, what is the benefit in this for Russia and other countries? What we need is a "neutral" currency for international trade (i.e one that is not controlled by the central banks of any of the sovereign nations).
3806  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Being Russia and Russian now on: May 18, 2023, 04:36:21 AM
Perhaps you are right. In my opinion, the US and UK economies are doing worse than expected, while the economies of Europe and Russia are doing better than expected. In the sense that a year ago the economic outlook for the US and the UK looked brighter, while the economic outlook for the EU and Russia looked bleaker.

US economy will be back on track if Trump wins POTUS election in 2024. That is not the case with the United Kingdom. They are digging their own grave by elongating this war. US is one of the countries benefitting from the war (as a result of increased demand for LNG and weapons), but the UK is a net importer of fuel. On top of that, they are spending huge amounts of money to prop up Ukraine. Americans can easily send $10 billion or $12 billion of military aid per month to Ukraine, but if the UK tries to do the same, then their economy will collapse.
3807  Economy / Economics / Re: 199,983 companies went bankrupt in Europe because of the energy crisis in 2022 on: May 18, 2023, 04:20:56 AM
If I recall correctly the opening of those coal power plants was a backup measure in case they went low in gas reserves and other kinds of energy inputs. On the other hand, the nuclear power is still a debate, France seems to accept Nuclear energy widely, resulting in them not having to deal as much as the energy crisis as other nations.

The problem is the nuclear waster with very long half life. It is a kind of waste that cannot be dealt with without thinking ahead thousands of years or even more.

As soon as fusion. Energy get developed further, those issues won't be an obstacle for reactors.

Disposing nuclear waste is more cost efficient than disposing waste coming from coal-fired powerplants. There are several corporations that deal with disposal of nuclear waste. France went in the right direction, and as a result they are not facing any shortage of electricity as of now. On the other end of the spectrum, we have Japan, who closed down all their nuclear powerplants after the Fukushima nuclear disaster in 2011. Now electricity there is in short supply, and is much more expensive compared to the levels they had before the disaster.

What a mess for PBKS! DC gave a free hand to PBKS and still they lost. They had a good chance of getting into the playoffs but after this loss it is next to impossible for them. Liam Livingstone tried his level best yesterday with a quick knock of 94 in just 48 balls.

Rilee Rossouw is a great asset for the South African side. Watching him bat yesterday was thrilling & oddly satisfying.

Both these batsmen (Rilee Rossouw and Liam Livingstone) played similar innings yesterday. But the difference is that Rossouw got the support from his colleagues, such as David Warner and Prithvi Shah, while Livingstone hardly got any backup. As a result, Rossouw's side ended up winning the match. To be fair, I will not put too much blame on the Punjab Kings. Delhi had the momentum with them, and for Punjab some of their senior players were out of form. They tried their best, but luck was not with them yesterday. Still there is a small chance that they will qualify for the playoffs.
3809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: May 18, 2023, 03:57:04 AM
Agreed with this. I don't have much hope for Ireland. Their quality seems to have gone down over the years. The last time these two teams met in test format was back in 2019 (when William Porterfield was the captain), and back then Ireland got bundled out for just 38 runs (Stuart Broad and Chris Woakes shared all the 10 wickets between them). To this day, it remains as the lowest total ever made by Ireland in a test innings. Just hope that they will put up a decent performance this time, and may at least manage a three-digit total.

They have indeed shown some improvement from 2019 till now but they are no match against England at the moment. England is one of the top 3 teams in test cricket. Whereas Ireland ranks 12th on the list of top test teams, one of a test match against England is a wonderful opportunity for them. Am I the only one that feels that Ireland is getting more opportunities across all formats compared to other teams?

I mean there is Zimbabwe above them and then there is Scotland below them but I haven't seen these two teams getting more test games than Ireland in this year.

I don't know. IMO, their quality went down after 2019. Still they are unable to replace their players who retired recently, such as Kevin O'Brien, Boyd Rankin, William Porterfield and Tim Murtagh. But now there is hope for them. The fund allocation from the ICC has been increased by more than 3 times. Cricket Ireland can use at least part of these funds to improve the quality of domestic cricket and to construct new infrastructural facilities such as stadiums and training centers. At this point, they may be the strongest tier-2 test team. Don't think that Zimbabwe are above them.
3810  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: May 18, 2023, 03:45:13 AM
I can only say that all these bookmakers can only continue to underestimate Croatia, because they have always done so regardless of the results that football team achieved. 2018 second in the world, 2022 third in the world, and in a month they will play the semi-finals of the Nations League  - the only problem is that there are a lot of people for whom such results do not fit into their "plans".

It is very simple actually. A lot of people have difficulty in admitting that Croatia is in the same league as France and England. These same people would rate declining teams such as Germany, Danmark, Netherlands, Belgium and Sweden at the same level as France, but somehow they tend to underestimate smaller nations. Anyway, I hope that Euro 2024 will give a good level of clarity on the quality of teams within the UEFA confederation. If Germany is unable to perform, despite being the hosts, then a lot of questions will be raised.
3811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Premier League #IPL on: May 18, 2023, 03:12:13 AM
Bad luck for Punjab Kings for including Rilee Rossouw in the team  Cheesy, was thinking why Rilee Rossouw was not included in majority of the matches when he was clearly a match winner and Delhi Capitals batsman was struggling to make any impact in the entire series. Bottom teams are clearly dreams killers and it is highly unlikely Punjab Kings will get qualified with the loss in this match.

Out of the 13 matches played by Delhi Capitals so far in this season, Rilee Rossouw was selected to the playing XI only for 7 matches. Actually it is tough to get selected, as they have a very good overseas contingent, which includes Anrich Nortje, David Warner, Phil Salt and Mitchell Marsh. If Marsh was fit for this match, then in all probability Rossouw would not have got selected. But without any doubt, he was the one responsible for DC's win yesterday. DC scored 65 runs from their last 5 overs, and this was when Rilee Rossouw went berserk with Phil Salt at the other end.
3812  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: May 18, 2023, 03:02:21 AM
News from England is that Jonny Bairstow has been included for the test against Ireland. He will be replacing Ben Foakes as the wicket-keeper. But there are quite a few setbacks for the Poms. James Anderson has been included in the squad, but he has been suffering a minor groin strain and was forced to retire from the recent county championship match for Lancashire last week. Jofra Archer has been ruled out of this season, as his stress fracture has recurred. In case Anderson and Archer are not fit, then the England pace attack will be led by Mark Wood, Chris Woakes and Ollie Robinson along with the evergreen Stuart Broad.

They playing against Ireland that means English B team can be brutal. Ireland would playing against Essex before the test match. I am not able to recall whether it's an ODI or test. The Irish side is getting the chance to play against big teams. I am confident that they will lose the test. The only positive outcome would be experience of playing against England.

Yeah... if even Qatar allowed the sale of alcoholic beverages in public, why can't ′′ Uncle Biden ′′ also facilitate the entry of some terrorists on American soil?

Jokes aside, I agree that certain special visas (with a reduced time for the FIFA World Cup event) can be facilitated for certain tourists without having to face so much bureaucracy, but even so, I believe that this should not be a quick process , so... anyone who wants to watch the games needs to start looking for a visa today instead of waiting for this facilitation.

There should not be any last minute surprises for those who want to attend the World Cup. A lot of people will be spending their hard earned money, just to watch the matches in person. And if their visa gets cancelled two or three days before the travel date, then these people will feel dejected. I don't even know why FIFA selected USA as one of the hosts for 2026. This country has draconian visa rules and it is 100% certain that a lot of the fans are going to face issues related to travel (unless they want to jump the fence at the US-Mexico border).

Gujarat Titans have already secured the playoff spot. There are no more hurdles in front of them but there is no problem even if they lose the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 21.
Chennai Super Kings have a small hurdle in front of them which is that if they lose their last match against Delhi Capitals then they will have 15 points i.e. in this case if the next team LSG wins against Kolkata Knight Riders then LSG will move to the second position and Chennai Super Kings will move to the third position. will come Again, if Mumbai Indians win the last match, their points will be 16 and they will move to the third position and Chennai Super Kings will move to the fourth position, in which case the equation becomes quite complicated. So it will be very difficult for the latter teams to secure the playoffs.

Chennai should try to finish at no.2. If they are able to do so, then they get two chances to participate in the IPL final. If they finish at no.3, or no.4, then they get only one chance. Anyway, their next match is against Delhi Capitals and they are in great form at this moment. Players such as David Warner, Prithvi Shaw and Rilee Rossouw are scoring plenty of runs, although they seems to be a bit weak in the bowling department. Anrich Nortje and Ishant Sharma leaked too many runs during yesterday's match. But still, CSK will be the favorites to win this match.
3815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: May 18, 2023, 02:32:42 AM
It is hard to actually get good revenue if you do not have Indian players taking part in the franchises. There is 1 other way wages you have to have a good world-class blessing in your country for the spectator will be to watch.

But sadly there do not have anyone like that in my opinion. I don't see how anyone is going to do well with revenue in these T20 leagues. But I think it can be used to make cricket more popular towards the nation for these associate countries. But I would suggest that the investment should be kept small. They better or not look at the IPL and start investing huge amounts of money in their own T20 league.

Since the associate nations can expect near zero support from the ICC, my suggestion to them would be to look for other sources of revenue. However, unless cricket is included in the Olympics, the governments are not going to help the national cricket boards. The only option left is to get revenue through sponsorships and TV rights. But this can't happen unless cricket is popular across the country. And that is the issue with smaller countries such as Malaysia. Cricket is not as popular as some of the other sports, such as football and badminton.

That would likely happen as people will compare how they are in the time of Trump vs the time they are in Biden.  Surely they can tell the difference since Trump had not made the prices of stuff go up the roof. More crises got worse in Biden's time making the voters hate. And this hate means no vote for him.

Desantis seem no match in terms of popularity.
Luckily Biden seems to be useful for both parties and not yet thrown him under the bus unlike Andrew Cuomo who could have been a better presidentiable but in a snap, all his dreams crumbled.

Economy was in much better state when Trump was the president. Inflation was under control, gas prices were affordable and jobs were being created. The only reason why Trump lost 2020 POTUS was due to his improper handling of the COVID19 crisis. Media used it against him, and that swung a lot of votes against him. The first thing Biden did when he became the president was to cancel one of the major oil pipeline projects and to impose more regulations on American shale oil producers. And quite predictably, the inflation rate shot up as a result of that.

In this IPL, KKR, Delhi Capitals, SRH, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, these five teams' dreams of IPL 2023 qualifiers are over.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) lost their playoff chances completely after a 15-run defeat against Delhi Capitals (DC) yesterday. If Punjab kings could have won in tomorrow's match, they would have had 14 points in 13 matches, so they could have achieved the fifth position in the points table. But with the defeat yesterday, this possibility of Punjab Kings also ended. Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, have won, but their playoff spot is already in doubt. So a win or loss in yesterday's match could not bring any benefit for the playoffs.

At this point, Gujarat Titans are assured of a spot in the playoffs. In case of Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants, there is more than a 90% chance. The fight for the 4th spot is going to be between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Three more teams can qualify for the playoffs in very unlikely scenarios, but the chances are less than 10%. What surprises me is the situation with Rajasthan Royals. They started the season with a bang, winning most of the matches in the first half. But then they lost steam mid-way and now it is very unlikely that they will not qualify for the playoffs.
3818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: May 18, 2023, 01:29:31 AM
Maybe, to me it doesn't look like the overconfidence. It looked like lack of experience, if not surely they could've won atleast the third match after coming this closer. They had a plan, on execution they failed. Playing few more series against top teams will make them progress well and learn how to handle similar match situations. Already the Gujarat Titans team manager Vikram Solanki have confirmed about Joshua Little back to the team after the Bangladesh series.

Good to hear that Josh Little is back to the Indian Premier League. Ireland management need to understand that IPL stints can be life-changing for their players. They asked Little to join their squad while the IPL was still on, and it cost him around $150,000 (a wild guess, given his contract value is around $536,000). And even with Little present in their squad, they failed to qualify for the ODI World Cup through the direct route. In the end, Little's presence didn't had much of an impact, although the player himself suffered financially.

^^^ Among this list, it is Trent Boult who stands out. New Zealand has at least half a dozen quality pacers, including Southee, Jamieson, Milne, Henry and Wagner. Despite all that, Boult constantly tops their bowling charts. In case of Sandeep Lamichhane and Rashid Khan, it is mostly due to lack of competition from their own team. The same can be said about Mustafizur as well. Other Bangladeshi pacers are not as the same level as him. And among the five bowlers in this list, Rashid and Sandeep are the only youngsters (i.e less than 25 years old).

In the last over where 11 runs were needed to win, Cameron Green managed to score only two runs from four balls. I would say that mainly because of Cameron Green's failure, Mumbai Indians lost this match.

Why blame Cameron Green? What about the other batsmen? Green faced just 6 balls and scored 4 runs. On the other hand, Nehal Wadhera faced a total of 20 deliveries to get to his 16, and Suryakumar Yadav got to 7 from 9 balls. And don't forget the contribution from Vishnu Vinod as well (2 runs from 4 balls). When the middle order failed to keep up with the required run rate, it will be unfair to blame Green for the loss. If he was sent ahead of Nehal and Vishnu, then yes. But he batted at no.7 and got just two overs at the end.
