A)Cards spin up n down all the time this normal?
might be normal. i have a RX 460 that the fan starts and stops. when the fan is off the card slowly heats up till a threshold is reached and it turns on and lowers the temps till it shuts off again. basically i set the fan on that card to "manual" in afterburner as i dont like thermal cycles in my electronics. not sure how to go about it in smOS as im win7 on my rigs.. but if its a claymore miner you can set the fan speed in its config or command line arguments.

.. may have all your Bitcoins confiscated if you can't prove they didn't came from crime.
if the op mined them, he just needs to go to the pool(s) and download a payment history (if pool still exists). if bought, do the same, dl history from exchange.

Is it safe to hold altcoins for long-term in exchangers like Poloniex or Bittrex? Or should I store the altcoins in their respective wallet?
no. download to your own wallets. then back those wallets up several different ways and in several different locations, including off site.
|
|
|
have fun.
make sure you back that wallet up a hundred different ways.

you can link mycelium to your trezor for added security. although havent tried it with mine yet.

If you earn BTC or any other altcoin because of work, mining, speculation on exchanges, etc you have to declare it as any other income. If you don't do that sooner or later you may get caught, simple.
this. just pay your taxes when you exchange to fiat (assuming you profit, not lose) and relax. ps im in the usa, other countries may differ.

"In particular, the units deliver 75TH/s mining power from an electricity consumption of 1500W. The energy efficiency is improved further by the chips being endothermic-they absorb energy heat from the surrounding rather than give it off. global warming/climate change? SOLVED. genius i tell ya, genius!!

Or you: 1. Do NOT dual mine 2. Use a decent rom so the gpu's don't require a shitton of power No issues whatsoever so far. seems like a poor way to make a miner. stock it should be able to handle dual mining, or any other algo you toss at it. its like buying a sports car and them telling you "oh yeah, dont drive over 75 mph and also you will need this special, extra cost engine computer to do it." if i can dual mine on my home built rigs, i would think a professionally built miner could do the same.

another vote for mycelium.
easy to use, variable fees, uses qt codes.
managed to break my phone with mycelium on it, recovered to new phone with the seeds with everything intact except for address labels.

We are looking into alternative solution to avoid all this mess; Payments in altcoins. In order to achieve this, we need to find appropriate partner.
looking forward to this big time.

I do not think there is a future of paper money. Paper money will have been totally diminished.
Paper money will always exist so that in the event of a breakdown of the Internet, financial calculations can be made. Yeah if the internet is dead of course that can be used is paper money. But you know that the internet will never die. The internet will always be present to be a new need for human beings. until there is universal internet/wifi and power everywhere, paper money is here to stay. still lots of areas with no internet or 24/7 power. no skill needed to use paper money, no hardware to buy and learn to use, no confirmation time, works everywhere.

Why should they necessarily make any mistake?
They were sane enough to craft such a virus in the first place capable of bringing down thousands if not millions of computers across the whole world (obviously, only a tiny fraction of affected users paid the ransom), so they should be pretty seasoned in such affairs (after all, MakeMeCry might not be their first accomplishment) and thus there are not many chances that they will get caught eventually. How many exchange hackers got caught in the end? And the number of bitcoins at stake is simply incomparable (just in case, over 120k bitcoins had been stolen from Bitfinex)
word is they made some amateur mistakes: one was that hardcoded kill switch url. and only 3 btc addys? no unique id per computer? my theory is it was some script kiddies and it went way over what they expected. those addys most likely will be watched by more law enforcement than any in history..
