3821  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: NFTs in the Bitcoin blockchain - Ordinal Theory on: March 03, 2023, 07:44:46 PM
glad i found bitcoin in 2011, before all the drama stared to pile on. back then you just used it was meant: unstoppable payments.

Everything was so much better back then.  People supported each other and helped build on each other's ideas.  Sending BTC was cheap, hell, it was free if you knew how to create the transaction.  The community was positive and friendly.  Scammers hadn't yet infiltrated the space (for the most part) and people were here because they liked the idea behind Bitcoin and wanted to change the world.  In 2013 that started to change and by 2017 the community was so full of trolls and scammers that it's basically impossible to create any community projects here without being fudded to death and being extorted or harassed into leaving.  Damn I miss the good old days...

I think if it were 2011 today, people would be trying to build on the Ordinals project, not trash it and say it's killing Bitcoin (think colored coins).  Negativity came with the expectations of profits as Bitcoin's price rose and the community is worse off because of it.
3822  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: What makes an image an NFT? on: March 03, 2023, 07:39:23 PM
Well, I don't think that using OpenSea to create an NFT will teach you anything except how to use OpenSea's NFT maker.  In reality, most people could learn how to issue their own NFTs in a day watching some YouTube videos.  It's isn't a difficult process and doing it yourself without using an intermediary like OpenSea might actually teach you something.  Once you've learned what an NFT is, you can start to understand what's possible.  Functionality will be the key moving forward.  People have realized the "artwork" NFT scam was nothing more than creative fundraising.
Actually there's a guide from OpenSea to create NFT [1], it's really easy since it's only need few steps to complete. Usually some Youtube channels just repeat every words of the articles they took without explain anything that important. Nothing surprised because they just want to create a video in order to get monetized.

However since AI can be used to draw and in NFT there's no difference between AI art and human art, NFT is become worthless now.

[1] https://support.opensea.io/hc/en-us/articles/360063498313-How-do-I-create-an-NFT-

Like I said, using OpenSea to create an NFT will teach you nothing about NFTs except how to use their NFT creator.  You don't get to customize things to your liking, play with code or contracts, and it's clear that it's an OpenSea issued NFT.  It's not all that hard to issue your own NFTs without the help of OpenSea and you'll be much wiser and capable if you go through the steps to do so.  There are plenty of youtube guides that walk you through the entire process of creating generative art to getting them published on chain all without the need of a 3rd party.  I would highly recommend going that route instead and I think that your collectors would appreciate it as well.

We now.

I don't think so at all.  This latest drop was the result of yet another organization thinking they can use leverage to get ahead of everyone else and make a ton of money.  Now they're bankrupt and we get to buy BTC on sale near the bottom of the price cycle.  This is a gift.  I would highly recommend buying here and stashing those coins away for 2 years.  I don't see any reason why this drop should scare anyone, and it seems like it may be somewhat contained.  If we could recover from the FTX madness, this latest blip will be nothing more than a dip that should have been bought.  Pausing your buys here because of fear will only lead to future regret.
3824  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining .vs buying in a bear market on: March 03, 2023, 07:25:32 PM
Once I pay the unit off my cost is 50% of price of BTC

many have my deal.

I buy the gear and give exactly ½ the coins to the host.

That's a good deal if you can get it.  I haven't heard of any hosts that offer this to the community at large and assume this is a private deal you have with your partner, right?  If not, I'd love to hear how I could get into something like this.  I currently have gear sitting around collecting dust that would be better put to use mining away for someone else and me getting 1/2 of what is mined.  I think a lot of people, especially now at the bottom of the market would love to participate in something like that.  Did I miss out on something?  Not a lot of people can profitably operate a miner while only keeping 50% of the revenue.
3825  Economy / Goods / Re: I would like to purchasing items from Amazon, Apple, or google. on: March 03, 2023, 07:17:00 PM
I encourage anyone who might be interested take a look at purse.io. It is a service that allows you to buy from Amazon with bitcoins. I have been using the service for many years.

I second this suggestion.  I admittedly haven't used purse.io in several years, but I have had mostly good experiences with it.  The bad experiences I had all ended up in refunds, so I've never lost anything as a result.  In fact, I've even scored 30% discounts a time or two on big purchases.  If there's something you want but can't quite afford it and are willing to wait, this is a great way to get a massive discount in exchange for waiting and being willing to have the item purchased whenever someone is willing to do so.  This is probably the best thing that Roger Ver has been a part of for this community and I'm glad that it didn't become a Bitcoin Cash only service.
3826  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Business sale. Net profit $ 70,000 + on: March 03, 2023, 07:14:06 PM
I can't imagine that anyone would trust dealing with someone that has nothing but negative trust feedback.  Not a single positive feedback and a sea of negative makes me wonder why you don't just abandon this account, admit to yourself that you failed at trying to scam, and maybe trying again only being positive and trying to contribute something instead of steal from others.  I assume you don't abandon the account because you paid for a Copper Membership, which is so cheap that holding the account for that reason is enough of a red flag that I don't think anyone would be willing to trade with you.  I don't mean to be rude, but unless this is a tactic used to lure in only people who are idiots, it's a bad look.  Even if that is the case, still a bad look.
3827  Other / Politics & Society / Re: We Need More girls in Cryptocurrency Trading. on: March 03, 2023, 06:47:52 PM
IMO we don't need any more people in crypto trading. I'd argue that trading doesn't benefit bitcoin in any way. It's just a way for people to make a few more dollars from people who are forced to sell at low prices due to fear, or personal reasons. I don't see why would you need more traders instead of more investors. I also fail to understand why you need women to do it. I'd rather see women launch startups and offer goods and services for bitcoin. This actually increases awareness and has positive impact on bitcoin ecosystem, while trading doesn't. Aren't traders the people who are now crying that crypto is a scam because they were keeping their savings on Scam Bankster's platform?

I agree.  Traders are for the most part delusional folks who think they're going to beat the market and end up with riches for making some trades sitting at their computer.  They're toxic, increase volatility, and every trader I've ever met in real life has gone broke.  Sure, we need more girls in crypto, but not as worthless traders who do nothing but bankrupt themselves to enrich exchanges.  We need more women that have actual skills (trading isn't a skill, it's gambling) and are willing to put their time and energy into creating crypto projects that exist on chain that increase use cases and solve problems for users.  We don't need any traders at all, male or female.
3828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 03, 2023, 06:45:00 PM
LeBron James' injury looks serious. He will be out of the hardwood for at least 3 more weeks. Due to his age, it can be difficult to come back from injuries. It won't mean much if the Lakers don't make the playoffs. Without him, the Lakers have to win games. Players such as Schröder, Reaves, Beasley should contribute more to the score and give the team victories in these difficult days. The Lakers are standing right on the edge. They can finish the league in 7th place or they can stay out of play-in position.

It doesn't seem that serious to me.  He was just on stage at a concert dancing around without his boot...  I'm not saying he's not injured, just that it doesn't seem that serious if he's dancing at concerts on stage instead of at home receiving treatment.

What's going on with Ja Morant?  He signed that huge Powerade contract, and now there's rumors he's suspended secretly from the NBA for his recent behavior which includes allegedly beating up a mall security officer and that's after the slightly older incident that he's still fighting where he's accused of beating up a minor while playing pickup basketball.  I have a feeling Ja Morant is going to be his own worst enemy.
3829  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO] Stacks Bowers Physical Cryptocurrency Auction 2023 Thread on: March 03, 2023, 01:07:01 PM
I hope someday others might be able to do them as Stacks only accepts encapsulated coins for auction

Ahhh… I was wondering why I was seeing so many coins with low values being auctioned in encapsulated graded slabs. I think it probably cost significantly more to have the 1g coins graded than their original sales price so I was surprised to see so many being auctioned. It makes sense as to why now if it’s a requirement to participate in the auction.
3830  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Our thoughts on Solana currently? on: March 03, 2023, 01:02:45 PM
I’ve used the Phantom wallet. I don’t have any complaints about it. As far as software goes it performed as expected with no major drawbacks. I think Solana is a zombie chain though. FTX pumping it was what gave it value and now other chains are paying SOL projects to migrate chains while much of the market won’t be touching SOL again. I personally would avoid it.
3831  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 03, 2023, 01:00:14 PM
Another drop in price as a result of irresponsible management of customer assets. I think this is a good dip to buy as the remaining stragglers of insolvent entities get flushed out of the system. The days of being able to buy BTC below $25K are numbered so if you’ve been on the sidelines waiting for an entry point, this is probably one of the better opportunities you’re going to get.
3832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 03, 2023, 12:58:03 PM
Clippers are 0-4 wince Russel came and we can say that Russel has negative impact in his first games for Clippers even if the entire team played badly.

Lakers are keeping fans on the edge as there are still very small chances for them to make the play offs.

Bulls are back on track and they need to keep it like this if they want back on track for play offs as so far I still think they lost the play offs 1 month ago when they had 6 defeats in a row...

It is a little bit of a shame that Westbrook’s impact is now considered negative on the Clippers while his departures has also had a winning effect on the Lakers. Russell has been playing great for the Clippers too. I think it’s time to admit his athletic style of play is no longer possible at a high level due to his age. I suspect the end of his career isn’t going to be pretty.
3833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 03, 2023, 02:17:14 AM
The Dallas Mavericks switched gears in the 3rd quarter and started spanking the 76ers. Kyrie and Luka have more than 60 points combined and there’s still time to go in the 3rd quarter. Luka has started bombing long distance threes as a heat check. This is the best showing of what Kyrie and Luka could be capable of doing together yet.
3834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Buying a video card for the next mining season on: March 03, 2023, 12:39:02 AM
I think if you’re buying equipment for the future you obviously need to be buying the newest hardware on the market possible. There are really only 2 companies to choose from also. You have AMD or Nvidia. I prefer AMD to be honest but Nvidia is more popular overall. I’m debating grabbing a couple new AMD GPUs myself but it’s hard to spend BTC knowing it’s about to appreciate so much.
3835  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is there so much resistance for Bitcoin reaching $25,000 on: March 03, 2023, 12:11:13 AM
It’s been a long time since the market was above $25K and it was the last time the price rejected off of resistance so it’s got a lot of sells built up compared to the levels we’ve been breaking below. The positive side is that the next resistance level is at $30K so when $25K does break it will lead to large gains very quickly.
3836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 03, 2023, 12:07:21 AM
^ That’s funny. I bet on a few games yesterday and was lucky enough to win them all in a parlay but the only games we had that were the same was the Bucks beating the Magic. I also had the Suns over the Pelicans and the Grizzlies over the Rockets. Not the greatest odds for a 3 game parlay but it felt pretty safe to me. You got lucky on the Bulls game.
3837  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in Bitcoin by selling wife's jewelry on: March 02, 2023, 04:35:56 PM
Make sure to keep us updated with the results of this action.  I tend to think that it's not a good idea to sell other people's precious items to buy crypto currency, but what do I know.  I will say that I'm very curious about the ROI of said investment and what sort of added costs come into your life as a result.  Typically, divorce is pretty expensive but if you're right you should make a decent profit from your decision.  The question is, once all the divorce costs are paid and you're on your own, will the money you made be worth it, or will you crave the life you had before selling your wife's jewelry.  I guess everything has it's price.  Curious how this works out for you.
3838  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Rupert Murdoch & Fox News lied about January 6th on: March 02, 2023, 04:32:29 PM
This January 6th nonsense highlights exactly what's wrong with the left vs right bullshit.  It's very obvious the left turned away additional security and the security that was there was ordered to fall back and let the protesters in.  It's also obvious that the FBI and antifa were the ones that were riling the crowd up and pushing them into the building.  Sure, the right wingers talking about stopping the results were bat shit crazy, but taking advantage of crazy people to create some invasion talking points is honestly worse than the mentally ill people who thought that storming government buildings was a good idea.  It's all such a joke.  I can't believe anyone gives a shit about this other than to find out why it was allowed to happen.
3839  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for March on: March 02, 2023, 04:25:08 PM
I would agree with those saying that Bitcoin will likely rise from here.  I think this is probably the last dip to buy into before the price rises above $25K and makes a run at $30K.  Still just the beginning of this bull run which I believe probably has 2 years to run from here, but if you're a catch the bottom kind of guy you already missed it at $16K and you're about to miss your last chance to buy in below $25K.  Sure, there may be a few dips here and there but make no mistake about it, this market is headed to over $100K in the next 2 years and it's not about how cheap you can buy in, it's about how much you can buy before it happens.
3840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 02, 2023, 04:19:03 PM
When Durant and Booker play together, the Suns can win the match very easily. Against the Hornets, I think they were pretty good. It's just that Durant's injury would be pretty bad for the team, that's what scares me. If he doesn't lose his health, the Suns could have a huge success in the playoffs this year.
Durant has been a pretty good basketball player for this team. I hope they get used to the team soon and they can play better together

An injured Hornets team probably wasn't the best test but it was a good warm up with Durant.  Probably why they targeted this game instead of against the Bucks.  Durant played great but Booker was still the leader of the team out there.  I suspect that will slowly start to change but for now Booker is the one hoisting all the shots.  You can't look passed the fact that Durant in his first game back shot 66% from the field and looked good out there.  So strange seeing him shoot three pointers in a Suns uniform.  That's something I didn't really think I'd ever see but am happy that it's happening.  I need to take a look at the schedule and pick a game to see him live.
