3821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 259 - Predictions & discussion to matches w/odds added from different source on: March 10, 2021, 05:40:05 PM
I watched Eddie's Stream (co-owner of Stake and the Official betting partner of the UFC) today and he placed a bet on Israel Adesanya to win with a knockout in the first round. I think I am going to do the same, even though I know it is going to be a big call against Mr Strong jaw.  Grin
It was really bad for stake that Adesanya lost because they had him as brand ambassador recently and the guy was undefeated until then.  I am sure though he will come back strong in his actual weight class so not a big worry but it hurts to see an undefeated streak being broken now.

Eddie and stake even offered 3 times the winning if Adesanya wins before the timer and not sure if stake is happy because they must have won a lot of money from bettors or upset because their recent signing of Adesanya didn't go as planned.

I hope Israel is quick enough to dodge the power and to find a way through to bring him down early... if the fight goes on too long, he might get lucky and he might get Israel on the ground and use his power to tap him out. (well that is my prediction)  Roll Eyes
Well, it's easy to say in hindsight but I always doubted the size problem which was evident in the fight and the defense from Blachowicz was unbelievable and even Adesanya commended it after the fight in the conference.

I hope not many guys lost their money because the 3 times winnings were just too lucrative to let go. On a side note, good to see stake still standing with Adesanya despite his loss.
3822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stake.com announces Israel Adesanya as their Global branded ambassador on: March 10, 2021, 05:09:43 PM
He still deserves to be an ambassador and his worth as an ambassador hasn't changed, it's not the end of the road for Adesanya, he is still a champion and still the best middleweight champion, I don't see anyone in UFC who can give Adesanya a decent match in the middleweight, congratulation to Jan Blanckowicz, it's a great win and a dominant one.
I agree and he should not move to another weight division, it was a good attempt and the fight was close, it's not like he got dominated by Błachowicz. He is still going to be a big favorite for anyone in his original weight division.

Objective view from a guy who never knew either guy, I think Israel's as good as any when it comes to character and personality, plus a games/brand ambassador always has to have the right fit. I'm sure they spoke to him long before they signed him, and if they clicked, then it's on!
Stake even offered thrice winnings if Adesanya wins early and I can't imagine how many guys must have lost because he lost the fight and because of the lucrative 3x offer I am sure almost everyone would have bet on Adesanya at stake. It feels bad to hire a guy and he loses his first fight just after you hired him but stake must have profited a lot from the gamblers as big bets must have been placed on Adesanya at stake as opposed to Jan Blachowicz.
3823  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Short term solid projects? on: March 10, 2021, 12:12:05 PM
I think DeFi is a good long term investment option. Profit can be made quickly only by changing the course. But now we see only the beginning of the growth and development of some startups. I think that all we need today is patience and observation.
I'm choosing BSC DEFI - Bake, Cake and other tokens!
Yeah, most of the time projects that are good in short time are the ones that will also do well in long term, unless you are talking about pump and dump kind of coins which I don't think anyone knows when they are pumping and when dumping apart from the coin owners.

Investing into Bnb is a good choice because people are shifting to the Binance chain from the Ethereum chain due to the absurd amount of fees being charged on that network.

Then there are others like Cardano, which is a very solid one and might be good in short and long term, both.

Advising from heart though, there is no coin that is going to be rising as much as BTC in coming years, not in 6 months maybe but then there is no risk either. Investing in altcoins is very risky because one flaw like ethereum faces fees issues and the focus shifts.
3824  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If bitcoin surpasses the $60K level then it will hit higher than $100K on: March 09, 2021, 09:51:24 AM
You said that institutions are investing heavily in bitcoin but at the moment the value of bitcoin just starting to go sideways, this is a clear contradiction, good news but in return, the value is not increasing, sometimes even very sudden price drops. Even though the support level is still relatively strong in the price range you said but given this general situation, new prices cannot be broken in a short time, besides, bitcoin has risen too much, psychology of people are tending to take more profits, instead of continuing to be patient
Going sideways and companies going into crypto are not contradicatory, why? Because these companies do not make moves every single day, and when they do that you hear about it, that is why they may not be doing it right now, this exact moment, but have we seen microstrategy buy over a billion dollars worth of bitcoin? Yes, we have, have we seen grayscale buy bitcoin? Yes we have, what about tesla? Microsoft? All those other ones?

We have seen many companies buy bitcoin and that is why I think it is quite obvious that we are in a good situation right now from companies buying but they are not doing it every single day. So, right now we could be going sideways because they are not buying this exact moment, but that doesn't change the fact that they already bought a lot, and they will buy a lot in the future as well, that will make it go upwards instead of sideways when it happens.
3825  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Altcoin would you Buy now and Why? on: March 08, 2021, 07:47:25 PM
In 2021 Ethereum for sure is the best coin for buy, I choose Ethereum because it is the 2nd best altcoin in the crypto world, ETH very much potential, price is comparatively low, daily increasing ability, well novel ideas for a better future, market analysis says ETH would be king of all Altcoins. That is why you can buy Ethereum.
What you think about the transaction fees problems of the Ethereum though? I don't think it is ever going to be solved and some projects have already started shifting to other blockchains. Although I am not saying ETH is the worst choice but better ones are out there.

It depends on your investment, if you have lots of money for trade then obviously you should buy ETH. Because ETH leading the second position for almost 2 years. But you need to analyze more to find out for yourself.
If you are going by market cap, even XRP seems like a very good choice but anyone who is in the market and follows news about SEC and the lawsuit against them, knows how risky it is. I would never invest just solely based on the market cap.

I would pick ethereum. The explanation is very simple, that is on the grounds that up to this point, Ethereum hasn't been siphoned, and I'm certain the cost will be siphoned. no doubt, ethereum's potential value this year could hit $ 1000, or even hit its new ATH. I think many individuals are looking at this as well.
Are you serious about it? I mean ETH is already beyond 1k my man and I think you wanted to say 10k or you are just not even checking market at all.

[Overview] Sportsbooks odds/margin comparisons (Esports edition)

Overview of Bitcoin Accepting Sportsbooks (with margin/house edge comparisons)
I feel like they will not provide the odds out of thin air, they will probably use odds from some other place even if it is not provided by another place. Think about it this way, if you build the whole sportsbook from zero and you basically write all the code without any help from any other company, that is still purely yours, even if you just go check the odds in other places and write that down, that is still yours, there is really nothing to worry about there.

Plus gambling creates its own odds, you see people gambling on one side more than the other and make that work too, I have seen decentralized sportsbooks where people gamble on one side or other and decide on odds without sportsbook deciding the odds, and that was worse, so I think this one will probably be a lot better. It will use comparisons of course but you can't just beat everyone and be best odds at everything, it would be hard, maybe few but not all.
3827  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum gas problem to be resolved in July on: March 07, 2021, 06:58:36 PM
I believe most of those eth tokens already decreased its value, that's why many eth token holders are complaining. Because they can't transfer their tokens because of high gas fees or they can transfer it but they are paying high gas fee and they are not profiting from their tokens. Right now, small eth users are really in tight belt with this problem. Let us hope that Buterin's team is already making progress in addressing this issue. Else, people will indeed go to other platforms like BSC or ADA or DOT.
That's true, many coins already lost value because people couldn't sell it and they became worthless, but the main reason was actually people failing to buy them, because if you tell people that they have to spend minimum 30-40 dollars just to buy something, they will obviously end up not buying it, you first need to give an approval which costs a lot, then you have to trade it on top of that as well, that is really a lot of money, at one point that was 100 bucks at peak levels. So, we are talking about people not buying it and that causes the prices to drop.

But come this July, when things become very cheap again, we could see a huge increase in them, I think it is good idea to buy right now even with those huge fee's because you may end up with a good increase in price after July, it may not be on the first month but it eventually could go up.
3828  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Official betting partner of ARSENAL FC 🚀 on: March 07, 2021, 05:14:00 PM
Southampton had an easy going while facing Blades and they did well to get 3 points. Saints list of injured players seems to be increasing on. Danny Ings has suffered muscle injury now and the Saints top scorer for this season is out for four months now. They now have to work out with Redmond and Che Adams for now.

I believe this injury could be the last straw, we are talking about a player that could be a striker for many major teams in major leagues gone right now for them, he is not coming back this season from the looks of it, and that means we are going to see them missing many goal possibilities. A striker is not only good because he scores, but he is good since he draws defense to himself and thus allowing others to have an easier path to score as well.

I believe with Danny gone, Southampton may have hard time winning games, more 0-0 on the horizon as well but a lot less 2.5+ goals ever, maybe there could be a few if they are lucky but it will be rare. Thankfully they are away from the relegation zone and I doubt that they would lose enough games to drop, so I think it will be still safe for them, at worst it will be like 15th or 16th at worst.
3829  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What to avoid as a beginner in trading Bitcoin? on: March 07, 2021, 04:02:05 PM
if we double or triple our profit I think that's just a bonus for us. Consistent in everyday of trading is just we need. We can minimize the risk in trading, we should always think about risk management. In the beginning of my trading, I always want a big profit resulting for greediness and not contented then I resulting for big mistakes in trading. Patience is also a big factor in trading.
Risk management is the most important part of crypto trading because crypto is much more volatile than anything else that we have used so far, this is why I believe we need to make sure that we do not take too much big risks, if we do that it could end up with a bad result.

However we should not be insisting on stuff neither, I did one mistake like that, believed in a project to be great and invested on it and the more it dropped the more I bought dropping my average and I could have profited in long term according to my belief but it has not recovered that much, not even during this bull period, it still need to do a 2x in order for me to recover my investment, finally I got out.

So, while dropping the risks, we should also remember that even though crypto in general is a profitable thing, there are times when it is not profitable and we should get out.
3830  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Quit My Full Time Job to Trade Cryptos Full Time on: March 07, 2021, 06:01:54 AM
It's nice that you found what you really like though it can be risky since trading is not always have a positive outcome especially the market is volatile.
The good thing is that you hold your time working and you have more time with your family.
I was planning to quit my job too but I'm thinking that it might be risky to have no job at all especially during this pandemic.
Finding what you like to do with rest of your life is something very difficult, money is not actually as difficult as that if you ask me.

Let's say you found something that you love to do, you want to do it 7/24 every day and it is not a bother for you, and you have done this a while as well, because sometimes things you think you love to do become things you hate over time as well, many hobbies become a difficult task after a while, but I believe if we are in a situation where if we do the work for a while and find out that it is our dream work, even if we bankrupt doing that, we can always recover over long term because knowing what you want to do is more valuable and if you are actually good at it you will eventually make money with it. I believe if you have a talent, it can't be hidden, eventually it will come out and help you with your life.
3831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League 2020/21 Season on: March 06, 2021, 06:35:04 PM
Everyone was shocked to see the result of this match. I would be happy if I could say that Galatasaray's luck was not helpful so they were defeated. But Galatasaray played really badly in this match. And Ankaragucu is a worthy contender for 3 points in this match. Seeing such a poor performance from Galatasaray, I don't think they will be able to win the title this season. They need to further improve their performance.
I have to say Ankaragucu played "well" because Galatasaray played horrible, reality is that Galatasaray is a much better team, and I mean much much better, we are talking about leaders of the league versus bottom team of the league obviously the difference was staggering. However this is the league we are watching, I mean anything can happen in this league and betting on these games are always risky, any team could lose any match and win any match and it is always weird results.

Unexpected is actually expected in this league, which is the funny thing but I honestly feel like it became normal and not shocking anymore. Same week fenerbahce which could have top teams again with 57 points, decided not to win and got a tie, they beat a very in form Trabzon just last week, so it is really shows you how things can change very quickly. New week on the way, after a week day games, we are back to weekends and I am going to abstain for a bit for this week.
3832  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you think about borrowing against your bitcoin? on: March 06, 2021, 07:03:49 AM
The idea would be to borrow using the Bitcoin as collateral, and refinance as the price continues to rise. That way you don't sell your Bitcoin and you don't pay taxes, income tax or capital gains. It should be done with a low debt ratio, which will allow you to weather a bear market storm for a couple of years.

I do not see it clearly, I understand that in general the best you can do is to avoid debt and increase your net worth, and you can only sell partially when the price reaches certain milestones. For example, you sell 25% when the price reaches $100k, another 25% when it reaches $250k, and so on.

I don't like the idea they propose either, because if it were to become generalized, bitcoin would be encouraging the very thing it proposes to flee from: bitcoin is an alternative to money as debt and encouraging massive indebtedness by taking bitcoin as collateral seems paradoxical, to say the least.
Meehn I don’t think I like that kind of idea. I believe that most of us here are business people at least, so why not maybe take profit from the Bitcoin and use it to finance and boost your business to a higher level and then when you sell and make enough profit from your main business, you can then invest more money if the price of Bitcoin has reduced by then.

I think putting yourself in debt will be very bad, although I do know it’s possible that the price of Bitcoin can go up, but what if it doesn’t go up and it happens to be at the time you’re meant to pay the debt back? You will then be in a really tight position which wouldn’t be good for you. Well, it’s still left for you to decide, and moreover this is why you’re being told to invest what you can afford to risk, that way you wouldn’t have things like this to worry about, and will only withdraw whenever you want to, even if it’s in five years.
3833  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you trade? on: March 06, 2021, 06:29:39 AM
- Not trading at all, just HODL.
The most boring and itching thing to do but the most profitable so far, I think.

What I am mostly doing is waiting for a dip to happen and buy once the bottom is hit and once the market starts recovering and I feel satisfied, selling some or all Bitcoins and repeat the same thing again. I believe I would have profited more if I only hold but I am not one of those guys who can sit idle for months and years without doing anything with my coins.

Some people are day-trading but with more stability and lesser volatility, it is getting harder with time.
3834  Economy / Speculation / Re: For all of you scared of the current dip on: March 06, 2021, 05:58:48 AM
If only they will look at this positively they can gain a lot from this, this is a continuous cycle of profit if they take the opportunity to study the market flow, they will the demand and supply chain and what every movement of the market brings, those who are afraid are those who invested with their savings and are afraid to lose it.
This is basically what those huge wall street companies as well, it is nothing that shocking. They try to find stocks that are undervalued and when market crashes they do lose a lot of money because their stocks go down but they have money as well so that means even if they technically lose money, they end up buying even more when it crashes so that they would be in a bigger profit when it goes back up.

Unfortunately many newbies do not have the money to buy even more from the dip, I was lucky enough to put a bit aside but that's about it, I do not have a lot of money that I put aside so I can't say that I made a lot neither but it helped, eventually those newbies will learn this over time as well.
3835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever lost a bet in this way? on: March 05, 2021, 06:45:06 PM
I have heard about the "Cashout" feature but until now I have never bet on a gambling site that has this feature, so I have never experienced anything like you OP have experienced.
Where do you actually bet then? Because, most of the sportsbook have this feature nowadays. Maybe you aren't in sports betting and only gambling on casinos.

There will definitely be regrets when we make a wrong decision so that it will affect the results obtained, but if I bet on a site that has a Cashout feature I would prefer to stay until the end of the game regardless of the outcome.
Yes, but it does not hurt to cash out a bet you see is going wrong. I give you an example, I made a bet on Djokovic in the French Open, against Nadal and once the match started, I had my hand on my head because it was just a one-sided match and there was no way Nadal was losing it. I realized that after the end of 1st set and cashed out my bet, of course, I got much less than my stake but still way better than losing the whole amount.

When you clearly notice that you made a blunder, it is a good option to cash-out your bet(s) and get out of the game. I often use this feature in the NBA games I bet. I wish UFC odds were offered live and I could cash my bets after a round or two because it feels painful to watch the fight and see your money go but not able to cash-out.
3836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Review, Odds comparison, Provably Fair Verifiers, Bots on: March 05, 2021, 05:15:10 PM
I had some new excellent topics for you in the updated OP.

-snip-

Thanks for the update!

Some really good tools and links in the OP, I just wanted to inform you that BTCGOSU now provides a bet verifier for a lot of casinos or maybe all of the casinos actually. Freebitco.in, FortuneJack, DuckDice, CyberDice, CryptoGames, Chips.gg, Bitsler, Bitkong, Bitdice and bc,.game, stake, etc all of the casinos are covered I believe.

Here is the link - https://www.btcgosu.com/tools/provably-fair-verifier/

With some of the best and honest reviews, I actually trust BTCGOSU more than any other review sites here. They also have some exclusive bonuses so worth checking that for new users. I am not promoting them, but I can't resist speaking good about the ones who deserve it.
3837  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Still a good time to invest or not on: March 05, 2021, 02:54:20 PM
Bitcoin and other altcoins are recovering fast after the correction since three days now, is this a good time to still buy few altcoins or this bullish trend is a hidden trap door to bear market?
Price goes up and price goes down, there is really nothing that changes the answer because the answer is always; invest. If the price is at 5k, you invest, if the price is 100k you still invest there is really no price you stop investing.

The only time any person could actually end up with selling would be when they reach their retirement amount of money so that they could sell and get out and just have fun with life after that, but until that moment you do not just hold, you keep buying as much as you can and just keep doing that over and over again.

By the looks of it bitcoin dropped a lot for a while and everyone become super happy about it, that is shocking, normally you do not expect people to actually be happy when the price went down but this time they were happy because not that many people believed it would go down more so the lower price meant that it would be discount for them to buy right now and that makes them so happy about it as well, it is basically just proof that people do not care when price falls anymore, they buy anyway to sell later when it goes up, hence why it doesn't crash much anymore as well.
3838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Insane Gas Fees on: March 04, 2021, 06:58:07 PM
3 days ago ethereum's transaction fees have decreased but it seems that today it has increased again. 3-5 $ calculation for the current transaction fee. indeed this is "expensive". If the value we send is small and for Dex trading, especially Uniswap, if our capital is not large, I think this will only hurt us in transaction fees. Transaction problems have become a problem when Ethereum has increased and transactions are also congested
The reality is that if you are dealing with one coin that as a very low LP that means you could have as much as 3000 dollars and it wouldn't be impossible. You are not just paying the gas fee there, you are also paying the swap price as well. If this gas fee is not for anything like that, like it is only for sending money somewhere, obviously it is just a mistake because sending money somewhere never costs that much no matter what you do, even on the peak points it never was anywhere near those levels, so it means this must be swap.

Otherwise it makes no sense, and in swap there is no limit, you could pay 100k as well for swapping, not that anyone would agree, but it all depends on the coins ecosystem and if it is good it is good if it is bad it will charge you a lot, as long as there are providers the price will get lower and lower so that someone wins, but when it is few they make up whatever they want.
3839  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop Loss influence in massive dump on: March 04, 2021, 05:55:23 PM
I had a few stop loss order filled todays dump happened a few hours ago, sadly that's the point from where coin moved up.
Has happened with me too in past and it feels like stop-loss in the worst thing but I have been saved multiple times then I feel like its a blessing. So, I use it now but I don't use it on coins which I know have the potential to rise again but are currently down.

What's your opinion? If there are few stop loss order on certain coins, how does it influence the massive dump? Please share your thoughts.
Yes, it is kind of a domino affect where one sells and the whole market starts drifting down but I don't think small traders play a big role in this. Our small orders placed at lower value indeed cause the market to decline even further but its like taking away a spoon of water from the sea, it is negligible.
3840  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wait for the dump on: March 04, 2021, 04:26:36 PM
If you are looking to book your profit it is a wise decision to book them if you think that the market could go down. Assuming that the investment you make are extra funds you should book profit once in a while rather than holding for the infinite long term and for that you need to study the market trends carefully and sell everything once the trend reverses and wait for the market to settle down to enter once again at the bottom.
You may be correct only time will tell but I have no reason to believe that the market will ever come down again and I would instead suggest that the price of bitcoin is only going to go in one direction and that is higher. My reasoning for the advice is that now big companies are embracing and accepting bitcoins like Tesla Motors did some time ago. Would you sell something that the market is otherwise trying to buy? I wouldn't.

2017 is very similar to 2021 and there is a hope that BTC will be able to reach $ 100,000 for one coin, but everything can also change dramatically and go not according to plan.
In 2017 the price went massive because it might have been planned and organized by some big investors as they usually do with small altcoins, pump and dump, they might have done that with Bitcoin and later dumped the market. This year like I said above, big companies and investors are embracing bitcoin and I think the raise in price this time is genuine and not planned.
