3821  Economy / Speculation / Re: The calm before the storm? on: June 09, 2021, 03:09:59 AM
Yes, we should take advantage of it, consolidate our transactions. As we might not see this kind of calm before. As for the price movement, probably using a tactic called 'waiting game'. And just looking from afar and see what's going on around before pulling the trigger.

But it good that the price has somewhat bounce from $32,000 fall (due to the FUD) to $33,000. Maybe there are whales and 'smart investors" taking advantage of the lull to inject and invest their money again.
3822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 09, 2021, 12:06:12 AM
But it seems Medvedev is weak on clay right now against Tsitsipas he is without any chance so far.
Medvedev played a great 2nd set and had some really good points. He even had a couple of match points towards the later part of the set and just when he showed enough to make us think he will have an edge in tie break - Tsitsipas played a perfect one and clinched 2nd set as well. Managed to place a nice live bet on under 44.5 games when Medvedev had a break point. Should be a secure thing if don't see an epic comeback.

yea its looking ominous for Medvedev ATM, opportunities are running out, he needs to
break Tsitsipas and hold serve to take the 3rd set... ATM he is 1 break point from 5.
At times looking at Tsitsipas he looks absolutely wrecked but he has all the answers
to what Medvedev is putting his way.

Medvedev was a break up in the third set in the second set had set points. Missed it all and lost to tsitsipas so another big name has been knocked out of the tournament. Lets see if we can get even bigger suprises tommorow or will we see a classic between djokovic and nadal

But another big name also knock out Medvedev, as others have said, he is not expecting to play high level in this surface and yet he reach this far.

Tsitsipas is really playing good, he will be facing his young rival in Zverev, maybe this will extend to 5 sets game now. I will still go with Tsitsipas here to reach the finals against either Nadal or Djokovic.
3823  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Predict Pump and Dump scams on: June 07, 2021, 10:48:01 AM
You are correct, most pump and dump groups chooses BTC/X pairing.

As for your second question, we still don't know what coins they are going to pump unless you followed them. So if you filter coins that have BTC/x pairing with either low or high cap, still it's going to be a wild guess on your part on what coins they are going to choose for their supposedly next pump. So still a hit or miss even if you narrow it down to just a few coins.
3824  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - June 6 on: June 07, 2021, 08:47:16 AM
Man, the fight is a classic trash lol.
They're like hugging or clinching as a term in boxing thanking themselves for the easy money.
I feel sorry for those people who paid to see those drama in the ring.
Logan's face was obviously scared and gassed out easily. If he didn't keep hugging Floyd he might've kissed the canvass in the early rounds, and we all knew that.
I had my doubts whether Floyd Mayweather can knock him out and that is what happened, i did not watch the fight, i might be watching the highlights and yet again another exhibition fight going for a draw and there is no point in betting if there is an option to bet for a draw.

If they hugged for 8 rounds then it was a hugging contest than a boxing exhibition and i am curious to know how much they really made for this exhibition fight and if they still made millions then i have no idea what else to say.

Exactly, there is no KO here, just Floyd playing with the crowd, and who knows, maybe he put a bet that there will be no KO. I also did not watch the fight, saw some highlights and obviously, Logan Paul try his best against Floyd.

But he can't get a clean hit on Floyd, and although he is old, Floyd still has his defense and too fast for Logan. I can feel the fans who pay and watch the fight, they cheer but at the end of the day, you know that the match is a circus fight.
3825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 51% Attack on: June 07, 2021, 08:01:08 AM
Has anyone wargamed a 51% attack on Bitcoin? How would it go down. What defensive measures could be taken.

*edit* Ive been trying to guestimate the block rewards in the future and what ive arrived at is difficulty will go down alot. This is not good if there is a relatively large faction in the world vying to supply the reserve asset because for the cost of less than building a power plant you could 51% attack bitcoin at that point. So if a proof of stake coin tracks BTC market cap they can just wait for a few more halvings and then attack. Or if a legacy government like China wants to assert their own CBDCs they can spend a fraction of their military budget to attack bitcoin. Not cool.

Nah, it's not as simple as that, the cost of a 51% is so huge that the incentives for doing that is so low. You need to have a lot of mining hardware, and then if some pools notice this attack, they can simply stop mining bitcoin. So your chain will not survived, maybe just a couple of minutes after the attack. But after that, you're done. So I don't think any government or nation are willing to spend their budget just to prove a point, doesn't make sense.

Already won my bet on Nadal vs Norrie under 27.5 and Djokovic vs Berankis under 25.5, parlay @3.44 odds.

Seems that Federer has some struggles early, but I'm expecting him to win in a very tight 3 sets.

Tsitsipas vs Busta later - I seeing this to be a 4 set at the most, Busta is also a good clay court player and very consistent in the last clay tournament he join, will try to bet later on this game.

You really got lucky on that nadal bet norrie had him in the second set with 2 breaks but nadal was able to break him fully. Unbelievble play by Nadal today against a really good opponent. Norrie was really good today and a really big shame that he didnt do something in this match. Djokovic destroyed berankis today.

Yeah, on the first set with Nadal was break and the score was 0-2 I thought that my bet are lost already. but then he come back strong.

Surprising defeat by Serena Williams, LOL, I started my parlay with her winning, unfortunately she was upset. Tsitsipas destroying a good opponent in Carreno-Busta, I thought the game will be extended, but in the first set alone, Stepanos won big and. there's no way that Busta can recover the way Tsitsipas is playing in this tournament.

Good decision by Federer to quit as I will bet against him vs Berrettini.
3827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: June 06, 2021, 03:04:17 AM
If 70% of the country's citizens are unbanked, a digital currency that requires zero/minimal registration will be more attractive to them. I just wonder how heavy the regulation on custodial services and other merchants will be once the bill is approved.

I'm sure it will be heavily regulated and won't allow that so much freedom from the government.

If there's something to learn about making Bitcoin a legal tender, Japan is a good example, and here is the country's regulation, (https://www.loc.gov/law/help/cryptocurrency/japan.php). In any case, it's a win-win situation for the government and El Salvadorian, another welcoming news.
3828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley on: June 06, 2021, 02:03:32 AM

And this are not going to stop, as long as people are willing to buy tickets and the Paul brothers solidifying this niche that they build, it will go on and will bring out retired fighters or non fighters to challenge them.

Why not this is a good opportunity for fighters past their prime to make money again, Robinson Askrem are just two of the fighters that are past their prime but made easy money from this kind of fights Woodley has a run of losses and he needs something to catch the attention of people and continue to make money, it's a risky fight for him, he should hurry and practice his boxing, there is no grappling here, but he can hug.  Cheesy

That's exactly my point, good for them for making money, but there are proponents saying that it can destroy the sports, ex-MMA fighter or any other athlete.

So I guess it's up to the fans itself, if there could be cross over, if they want to patronize and buy tickets that is fine, on the other hand, some fans disagree. Well we might call them maximalists as well, staying to the true colors of sports.
3829  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin volatility history 2012-2021 on: June 06, 2021, 01:15:42 AM
It is very exciting to see the changes in Bitcoin prices over the past ten years. In fact, due to the recent increase in the number of new investors who have come into contact with Bitcoin, the topic of FUD has once again occupied the main body of the forum.

That's how it is, when Bitcoin goes on a bull run, there will be people who are going to spread FUD or anti-bitcoin sentiments in this community, we have seen this in the bull run in 2017. And I would say that it is part of the ecosystem.

In fact, we need some posts of this type to let people see what Bitcoin has gone through. The short-term market decline is not the end of Bitcoin. Compared with the price in 2017, the growth of Bitcoin price is not even as fast as inflation, so it has not yet reached our expectations. I hope everyone can hold Bitcoin firmly and don't miss the second half of the bull market.

There are a lot of similar post in the Speculation board, but the problem is that there are newbies who blindly trust crypto influencers like John McAfee in 2017 and now Elon Musk. We need to educate ourselves and understand what is the narrative of this personalities for attacking and or shilling Bitcoin. Past history already tell us that Bitcoin is so resilient and proven itself to bounce back after a big downfall.
3830  Economy / Speculation / Re: The US dollar could run out soon - Gold can lose value - Elon musk on: June 06, 2021, 12:25:39 AM
Funny how we are talking about Elon everywhere. Now he is against the Fiat as well? What earth I am on guys?
No, this can’t happen man. It’s USD and it’s Gold. They won’t loose their value because they are routinely used and  transacted in billions of dollars every day, month and around the clock.

As soon as the clock hits 9:00 market starts rolling up and down, from toilet paper to Vila everything is bought and circulated with USD nominations.

Still think it will loose the value?

It may get inflated (temporary sure) but it can’t loose value completely.

Musk probably losing his mind, this statement is kinda absurd coming from a mind like him.

Anyhow, it seems that he doesn't have that power to influence specially smart investors reading his tweet. It's obvious now that he doesn't have the grasp of world economics and too ego-centric about his TSLA only. For bitcoin, he is totally wrong, BNB? is centralized as others have pointed out.
3831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley on: June 06, 2021, 12:02:00 AM
These Paul brothers are making deals that will have them a lot of viewership and money too. Expect that there will be more of these professional MMA fighters fight in a boxing match. I think that's their strategy to have at least get a clout which is very interesting for most of their fans and people who have also following them just because of this entertainment that they bring.
It is true that the Paul brothers have created a niche market for themselves as they are able to attract huge crowds whenever they put together a fight and it is not a small thing and all the upcoming talents should learn from them on how to promote their brand and they are picking fights smartly as well, from celebrities to MMA champions of the past even though they are well past their prime they know that it will bring them money.

Not just professional MMA fighters, but there could be other sports personalities willing to put their hands on the cookie jar and take a bit of these so called exhibitions matches by the Paul brothers to somewhat bring some money.

And this are not going to stop, as long as people are willing to buy tickets and the Paul brothers solidifying this niche that they build, it will go on and will bring out retired fighters or non fighters to challenge them.
3832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Prayer and gambling. on: June 05, 2021, 11:25:54 PM
Nah, gambling is base on luck and I don't think that spiritual being is involved or can change the result in our favor. But gamblers are very superstitious, again, each and everyone has it's own belief.

So if they thought that someone can higher can guide them, so let them be. I have friends who prays before placing their bet as well, so I just respect them, simply as that, but it won't have any effect on the outcome though.

3834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you still on NFT's? on: June 04, 2021, 01:20:15 AM
I have read the news that NFT Sales Slump by 90% sales this month, Over these previous months it's been declining, Is this a sign that it's already dying? or it's just a method to gain and become durable and scalable for the long term? What do you think?

That's define what the market is right now, there are hype and then it died down just like what we are seeing in NFT. Of course proponents of it will try to salvage everything and will still promote and support NFT's no matter what. And if they can think of another marketing tool to bring back the hype then why not? Maybe it will not die, it will just evolved again and again to remain relevant in the market. Just like the rest of the top cryptos, and that is the key for NFT.
3835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - June 6 on: June 04, 2021, 12:44:06 AM
That's a shame if Mayweather will lose to a Youtuber at an exhibition match.
So I am certain, this fight will be on his favor. Will only watch free streaming.
Not worth to pay for this match. Sportsbooks already removed this from their list.
About couple of days and let's have some fun watching this episode.
Wouldn't be the end of the world. Floyd keeps his unbeaten record on paper, and the rest of the world gets to laugh at Mayweathers expense. Floyd could then say that it was because he didn't take it seriously, due to it being an exhibition match, which more would probably believe.

I can't believe its a pay per view event. I haven't really looked at the rest of the card, but I know the last Youtube fight was an absolute joke of a card.

And Floyd has admitted already that he doesn't care about his legacy, so even if he losses he will get a lot of money and could make excuses after excuses, i.e this is just an exhibition match.

Yeah, it's PPV on the strength of these two fighters massive following and networks are taking advantage of it, as boxing is now a business. For sure the undercard will be joke fights as well.
3836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 04, 2021, 12:21:02 AM
Sinner vs Mager, maybe this could extend to 4 sets? over 33.5 might be a good bet on this match.

Nadal vs Gasquet - another intriguing match, but I have Nadal over 25.5.
I never play over on Nadal matches, he is bully and will play every point like it is super important even if he has 5:0 in the set. I make an exception sometimes when I believe his opponent can outplay him but Gasquet is not in that category.

Barely made it, total score is 26.

Sinner vs Mager in 4 sets as I thought, total score 37.

Barty withdraw from her game, left hip injury, must be very painful as a tennis player, so she has no option.

Good match to watch, Tsitsipas vs Isner - I will go with Tsitsipas here, 3-0. Stepanos hasn't lose a set here and I don't think that Isner will be a tough cookie to crack.
3837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting to Risk Free Fights on: June 03, 2021, 03:48:53 AM
I agree, there's no such thing as risk free fight in any sports, so I'm not going to bet on it. I would rather do my own analysis first and see if there could be an upset going to happen. Unless you have a lot of money and willing to put a huge amount @1.50 to get a decent profit, for average gamblers, they might do a parlay or look for a better fight with good odds.
3838  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price since 2021.05.31 in about 7 months on: June 03, 2021, 03:20:40 AM
Not gonna affect the price if we vote in your poll for you and for others.

On the contrary, what not wait in the last 7 months though? all we can do is speculate, so still a hit or a miss for majority of us here. But I would say that we might see another all time high in the next 7 months or so. That's what my crystal ball is telling me though, so take everything with a grain of salt.  Grin
3839  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin's institutional hype is over? Adoption Slowing Down? on: June 03, 2021, 02:54:28 AM
I would tend to agree that the institution hype has somewhat hit a snagged as obviously, the price is tanking right now and then we have Elon's sudden turn around. Maybe there's a lot of CEO looking at Elon's move into Bitcoin, but when he tweets about his anti-bitcoin sentiments, those companies has second thoughts as well.

Unless we hear another big companies investing huge amount on Bitcoin market as store of value and hedge it on their balance sheet, maybe this institutional hype is slowing down.
3840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 03, 2021, 02:12:16 AM
Delbonis vs Andujar might be a good game to watch later.
Could be, two clay specialists going at each other. I am expecting a tough battle, probably even a 5 set match. Therefore, my bet for this one is over 36.5 games which should pass if get at least 4 sets.

Yep, the match was extend to a 5 sets, no one really wants to give up in this game and it's a thriller game. No upset from the big 3, although Bautista-Agut exited and so is Karen Khachanov.

Sinner vs Mager, maybe this could extend to 4 sets? over 33.5 might be a good bet on this match.

Nadal vs Gasquet - another intriguing match, but I have Nadal over 25.5.
