3841  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware wallets on: October 04, 2017, 10:35:20 PM
Without a doubt the best ones by far, and I would think the only ones, are Trezor, KeepKey, and Ledger. Those are the only companies I would trust with this sort of thing, plus if the device was to break you do have some sort of backup plan.

You can't install these on your own USB if I'm not mistaken, they actually give you their own hardware that you'd be buying, I think this is the safest way to go about this anyway. The worst thing I'd want is a generic USB to get confused with my school USB.

Here's a real style write-up about it - https://www.buybitcoinworldwide.com/wallets/ - I know if you check out Youtube they'll have a ton of material on this as well.
3842  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Why do people trust centralized Bitcoin/Altcoin exchanges? Conspiracies? on: October 04, 2017, 09:07:49 PM
Well if you actually were to lose that amount of money, I'd expect you to be one that stays off the internet and has been on the phone with different lawyers for days upon hours upon end. But in the case that you're actually being truthful, something like this wouldn't be allowed to happen. If the company is a registered corporation / any sort of company within the US they'd be able to be brought to court for stealing property, or in this case, currency.

People trust these places though because they've built their trust, if something goes wrong they go to the right sources for help. That's what you should be doing.

Good luck.
3843  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What You Need To Know To Get FREE Bitcoin Gold During The Fork. on: October 04, 2017, 08:22:50 PM

Who is behind Bitcoin Gold?
This is the first time I am hearing such a thing.

I guess 2017 will be known for its multiple chain attacks against Consensus?

Well it's already known for this, so why not just amplify it to the point so that we have multiple people trying to split off from the REAL Bitcoin.

Seriously, I don't understand why people are doing this again. Bitcoin Cash didn't work, and won't work. Right now it's just a traded coin. This coin is going to be even more shit then Bitcoin Cash, which crazily enough amassed an insane amount of Market Cap. People have to get on the train that Bitcoin is going to be it, there will be some trading coins but they're never going to be gaining any real usage traction.

Stay with Bitcoin and you'll be fine.
3844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Very early adopters (early 2009) and how much they made on: October 01, 2017, 11:01:47 PM
The thing I'm always curious about this is how many of those that were solo mining on PC back in 2009/10 when the price was a few cents have still got the coins they mined. It would have been so tempting to sell them when the price reached $10 or $100 or even $1000. How many are still holding?

From January 2009 until February 2011, 1 BTC was worth less than $1.

It seemed extremely amazing that Bitcoin would reach the 1 BTC = $1 level, and MANY that were involved early would have sold at that price thinking they made a great decision.

Sadly, this is the sort of thing with anyone else. One of the biggest thing that bothers me is that people are like 'WOAH WHAT IF I BOUGHT FOR .23 CENTS BACK IN THE DAY'

Well with that same thinking, what would probably happen is that you'd buy at that price and then buy when it doubles, or MAYBE IF YOU'RE CRAZY $1-2

You would never even dream of those Bitcoin(s) you bought coming to an astonishing price of 4k years later. This same sort of thing happens in Stocks all the time.

3847  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ron Paul on Why Politicians Lie on: September 26, 2017, 02:14:42 AM
Well when it comes down to this, it's politics. And sadly we all can simply say that it's just that 'politics' But here is the thing with Politicians, when they're trying to get elected they're trying to get voted from many different demographics, so it's not like they're going to be able to be truthful to everyone. As being truthful to everyone would lead them to offending certain groups and then not winning their election.

So sadly this is done by the reason to survive, as I don't think the culture will ever change in the US political system. Unless everyone is put under the mic and forced to be truthful, people aren't just going to be wonderful and nice all the time.

The real world is a scary place, with backdoor moves, deals, and horrible people. P
3848  Other / Politics & Society / Re: North Korea accuses US of declaring war on: September 26, 2017, 02:09:43 AM
Well like, the US did come out and say that if Diplomacy isn't going to work then they're going to have to attack North Korea-- Which is a pretty simple statement for them to make, and a logical one as well.

Plus, I don't understand how this man in NK can sit there and say that WE're declaring war, while he's sitting around telling people he's going to nuke them and nuke that. This guys a joke and should just be ignored, as I think that if the US really thought he was a threat he'd be killed or made into a puppet.
3849  Other / Politics & Society / NFL Players Kneeling for the National Anthem? on: September 26, 2017, 02:07:10 AM
Not something that I support in the least, though I do understand that people DO have the right to do this sort of protest. I'd like to hear the opinons of people on the boards, as I know we're a community of people around the world which may see this in different lights.

I'll start with saying that I don't think that not standing for the flag is something that is protesting today, I think that when you refuse to stand for the flag you're refusing to respect the ideals, the freedoms, and everything that this nation has gone through. This is my personal view and I do expect for people to disagree with it.

Here we go!

3852  Other / Politics & Society / Worst Week in Washington? on: July 30, 2017, 03:04:24 PM
Do you think this is the worst week for the Trump administration or is there another that you'd think is worse? I'd have to say this week with all of the bad news on the administration, resigning of the CoS, and the bad news from 'The Mooch' speaking to a reporter off the record, which seemed to go on the New Yorker with all of the vulgarities.

I'd have to say this is the worst one, do you think this is as well or do you have another which you think is worse?

3853  Economy / Economics / Re: The world's failing banking system. (#23 trending video on YouTube right now) on: July 30, 2017, 02:52:19 PM
Whether we like it or not banking system will survive. We all know that banks have caused so many world economic crisis, corruption, and troubles but they survive every time, and this world still depends on them. This will not be changed for a while now. Bitcoin has started the revolution in that direction, but this is still not enough.

This, people, are going to have to understand and accept that the banks are never going just to vanish -- Bitcoin isn't going to tear these people apart and all, they're going to survive through whatever we throw at them. Cause at the end of the day, these are the people that have the money and have an INSANE amount of influence over the rules and laws that are made in this country.

Plus, if the banks did have a problem they're way too big to fail, and the government would YET AGAIN pay for an injection into the banks, this would stop the mass unemployment and economic shock that would be caused if the banks failed.

Excellent video though, liked it a lot, and I do hope everyone was visiting watches it as well!
3854  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: August 1 strategies. Opionion needed? on: July 30, 2017, 03:25:46 AM
I prefer this one

Main Assumptions:
People are piling BTC now so they can get free BCC.

Immediately sell after the price matches, will many people who get BCC immediately free, then sell it, BCC prices will go down.
I am not sure BCC will be able to compete with BTC. BTC remains king.

The big problem with this is that the two coins that you're going to be owning now (BCC and BTC) may not be worth the same as the one coin of BTC that you owned before, so I'd avoid this in general and just sell everything off.

If everyone is going to be piling up the BTC like it's being stated that PROBABLY means that we're going to see huge downturn after this, which means THE BTC price is going to fall somebit.

SELL OFF, sit back, and wait!
3855  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: SEC and the future of ICOs on: July 29, 2017, 10:58:42 PM
Since I am not citizens of united states of American I don't bother myself with any laws that sec make. If you are not an American also focus on your new project but if you are usa citizen then wait for their laws to be out before you venture into you ICO.

Well dude, obviously this is going to be what happens.

Moving onto the subject at hand, you're going to have to notice that all these different tokens are going to have to register -- or at least the SEC is going to want them to be registering, this doesn't mean they're going to in the least. This is also something that the market knew was going to happen, and why the market didn't take a huge down trend due to it happening -- they just sat around and accepted it occurring AS EXPECTED.

Also, if these coins aren't structured like the DAO is they have nothing to worry about.

Time will only tell if the SEC will enforce these rules harshly.
3856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where will you keep your bitcoins on D Day? on: July 29, 2017, 09:20:14 PM
Geez...

There is no DDAY, stop overreacting. All this useless FUD.....

Just HODL everything for a a day until community reports everything is perfectly fine (what is expected).

Eh, I don't know at the moment. I would think there is going to be some price change at some point, and this would seem to be a very good time to see a correction come up -- as there is going to be TWO coins now instead of ONE representing Bitcoin. This is obviously going to show some scare in the market as people are going to halt TX's and buy/sells to see what happens.

I know I personally am not going to hold any coins and are just going to sell to get out ASAP, planning on just waiting a month and just seeing what happens -- making another decision in that time to see if I'll buy again or just sit around.
3857  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Welcome to kelly:), byebye priebus:) (poor ennemies of trump) on: July 29, 2017, 08:40:34 PM
Nice to see someone so connected to the inner swamp (Reince) being removed from his position once and for all, this administration can't handle any more inner divide and it must come down one faction controlling the entire WH and not what we've seen where different factions are simply fighting each other for control.

Survival of the fittest in the WH, we're just going to slowly find out who is the fittest. - At the moment I feel as if it's 'The Mooch' and the rest of the outsiders who are slowly winning that battle.
3858  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What are the best pickup lines you have ever used/ some one used on you? on: July 29, 2017, 08:24:51 PM
I wouldn't think of it as a science, and it's just one of the many ways to be able to break the silence between you and a girl -- so it does help to break through the 'ice' and get to talking. Moving onto what one of the best pickup lines I've used, I think the most basic ones like 'Are you from Tennessee cause you're the only ten I see' are the better ones as they aren't dirty and they usually make someone smile.

It is a hot topic yes, and it's something that we've seen happen more and more in this day and age but it's not NEW int he least.

Would like to see some women comment on this to see their side of it.
3859  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who is Darius Udrys? How the EU State and NATO glorify terrorists. on: July 29, 2017, 08:08:31 PM
Yet again, you're going to be using sources that are completely unvetted and may hold no truth to them in the least. If you're going to be making such bold claims, I'd recommend (like many times before) to find more trusted sources so people may actually believe at least 1/4 of what you say.

Cause if you're going to use this sort of site with an INSANELY weird domain from Lithuiania, you're going to be bound to be getting called out on FAKE NEWS.

FIX IT BUD, LIKE THE REST OF UR POSTS
3860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pay a beer with BitcoinCash on: July 29, 2017, 04:40:11 PM
No one knows what's really going to come out of Bitcoin Cash, they're only going to see on Aug 1st and a little beyond that time to see if they're really going to be fixing the problem that Bitcoin has faced for the longest time -- congested network with bloated fees that is unable to handle the tasks that it was deemed to do. So anyone on here, like you or me can come out and say that a consensus is going to fix this or that, but the only thing that is going to confirm this is going to be what happens when it is used in practice.

Everything looks nice on paper, but once it's put into play is when the real problems come out. TIME will only tell with this one.
