First round of US Open is already on its way, there's some familiar name of it so good time to bet again.
The first match that caught my attention : A. Murray vs S. Tsitsipas, I'm not sure Tsitsipas will have a tough fight from Murray, Murray is no longer as good as before his injury, maybe he can take a set but the winner is still Tsitsipas. And more top 10 players play on Tuesdays Yes, very intriguing but the odds favors Tsitsipas, might be better to bet the handicap as the ML is not that attractive. SNIP
SNIP Ah thats very unlucky for Murray, he hasnt really had much game time coming into this GS. Just when you want to get a winnable draw and try to get some momentum into the following rounds you are drawn against the 3rd seed Tsitsipas. All he can hope for is a retirement by Tsitsipas. Tsitsipas of course is the favourite and also would favour him to go far.

The thing about crypto as we know, it's decentralised and unregulated so anyone can become a "trader" and believe they will make profit....easily because Bitcoin "always" goes up.
That is kind of true but with lots of down turns and corrections. It indeed takes experience and knowledge to trade.
This is a good share by the OP, hopefully others will learn from it.

It's impressive to see new people keep coming and want to know more about the cryptocurrency world as a whole, google brings new users here to find out what we really should be doing in bitcointalk in particular and cryptocurrencies in general. Continue to take advantage of this opportunity, learn more sources to expand knowledge, I also want to say welcome to join Bro, this is the most fun discussion place and can provide financial benefits for anyone who has joined, with terms and conditions still valid.
SPIRIT FRIENDS
It's a cycle, same with the 2017 bull run, a lot of people started to get interest on BTC and thinks it's a get rich scheme. I also remember threads saying they quit their job and concentrate on being a trader. But what happens next after the bearish trend? Not sure if those newbies regret quitting their job or if they did if they make the same money during the bear market. So there is an opportunity but it's going to be hard as you might lose money if you don't know what you are doing. And then the cycle repeats itself, we are in a bull run again so many are attracted but I do hope that they make the right decision joining crypto sphere. That was the case in 2017 for sure. It is essential for newbies who want to be active in Bitcoin to do research and get informed. There are also newbies buying Bitcoin through custodial avenues like Revolut, I'm not sure they are interested in Bitcoin itself rather "a return of investment". While the increase in newbies might be fun it is actually beneficial, especially to those who see it other than a get rich quick scheme, those who see it for the alternative to FIAT banking and to take control of their own finances and investment.

These look very interesting. The nice thing about the Polymerbit items is they have a limited run making them collectible. I'm not sure about the Icybit notes though in this regard. They are very well priced at less than $10 each. https://www.cvbj.biz/2021/07/18/bitcoins-in-the-form-of-banknotes-swiss-company-seeks-to-create-a-new-standard/![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fmk0criptonoticijjgfa.kinstacdn.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2021%2F07%2Fbillete-monedero-bitcoin.jpg&t=663&c=6SWCkyZVOweN0g)
Just did some investigating via their online chat and can add this info for anyone interested: You can buy 1 unit, 100 Icynote units, 1000 units or 10 000 units...
Bitcoin addresses are created from an aleatory number, whereby the problem is that current computing technology cannot generate pure randomness. Our random generator is created by a Quantique photon counter machine, we work with the Swiss world leader in random generation tools which pass the NIST SP800-22 Test Suite compliance.

Yea saw that news on Twitter (strangely enough)
Its hard to know what to make of it, there isnt a chance they will be able to sell it all quickly anyway, it would be counter intuitive, more a slow sell over a few months in order to try not spook the markets, IDK.
Then I'm not sure they will be selling anytime in the near future I we go on what MS tweets Many, Many times per day/hour.
We definitely cant doubt his belief in BTC though.

Morning!
So, I bought some BTC today for the first time since 2014.
I decided to do a little experiment, I was offered a loan from a company (Qliro) and accepted, I borrowed 20 000:- (about 2300 USD), I set aside four months worth of payments on the loan (this will be used to pay of the loan for the coming four months) and bought btc for the rest (17500:- (about 2000 USD)) and I put those btc in a separate wallet.
Now I'm going to sell these btc in December when we go skyrocketing and the little experiment here is to see how much money I will make on this. The plan is of course to repay the loan in full in December and do something fun with the profit. I have been offered to up the loan with another 50 000:-, I might do that, still thinking about it.
So, as you can see the whole point is to make money without having to put in any of my own.
I like your thinking and this is something I did last year and enjoying the benefits of this year but you are posting off topic here. Have a look at this thread in the trading discussion board. How weird is it to borrow money and invest into Bitcoin?
Looks like we’re about to bounce off the trend line. If things continue as they are, I could see hitting new highs in early October. Certainly that would be the beginning of a run to a blow off top sometime in early December. That is if you believe in fractals or stock to flow ratios.
100% so. We could hit an ATH already in September. After that the face-melting mother of all pumps will start. That's all SOMA of course. ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) Traditionally September has not been a great month for Bitcoin but remember back in April we said traditionally April was one of the best months and it turned into a damp squib, hopefully September can buck the historical data.

^^ ...and there goes my two bets which I too thought would go further CB and Tiafoe. I guess with the absence of the top 10 ranked players these tournaments become a bit more open. I have heard about these semi finalists before but havent seen much of their play and so brings an end to my betting in this tournament.
atta tion now goes to the U.S Open

^^ It seems that you are in winning streak mate, good to hear that.
So it will be Carreno-Busta vs Ivasha, I think Carreno-Busta will win in this match in two sets after this great showing in his last game, -3.5 @1.98 is a very attractive.
Gasquet vs Ruusuvuori, relatively unknown Ruusuvuori surprise entry of the tournament, reaching as far as the QF. I think with Gasquet experience, he will overcome Ruusuvuori in 3 sets here, or over 22.5.
Just watching the Carreno Busta v Ivashka match and Ivashka has taken the first set tie break. Looking at the stats for that first set it looks like Ivashka's service game is better. I hope Pablo can do the job here and take the next 2 sets. I have repeated my bet from yesterday, Carreno Busta and Tiafoe, who beat Monteiro.

COME ON THE KNIGHTS! well done to them...and to us. That was a close game, especially the second half, only 5 points scored between the two teams, level on 14 minutes with 6 minutes of extra time and the 1 point field goal wins it, very dramatic.
Union The Bledisloe III competition ... Have heard of it but never watched or bet on it. Best of three games, I agree that the Aussies wouldnt be favourites, from the wiki page its 49 trophies to 13 for NZ! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bledisloe_Cup

There's one logo and banner slot, but will think about how we could award more prizes to more people. Would it be so awkward to have different banners for other social media, like Twitter? ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Although I'm more than happy to see the activity being generated regarding this contest, I think that from a "brand" point of view it would be good to have the same "art style" being replicated both on Youtube & Twitter - I believe it's much easier for people to recognize the channel by the artwork that they've seen on the Youtube channel (and vice versa). However when we do hit a particular point in viewership/reach I believe that we could change our artwork from time to time - As long as our logo, whatever it may end up being, stays the same it will allow our channel to be recognized independently of the artwork that may currently be deployed. Perhaps it's a more... balanced scenario? I agree, its the standard to have a uniform brand theme so it becomes familiar and recognisable across many social media sites. While the banner and logo size will be different from media site to media site I guess I'm right in saying any designer will be able to work with the team to resize his/her design myself included obviously. I also agree that there are many fantastic designs, Good luck to all.

I have 3 on this round, the obvious ones, Storm, Panthers and Sea Eagles not on parlay though, I keep forgetting about doing a multi bet with low odds.
Im thinking of a small bet on the Rabbitohs...
The Knights and Titans have a close one going on ATM, 12 v 12, I have a small in play bet on the Knights.

I think ever since Serena has welcome a daughter, his game has started to deteriorate. What I mean is that probably having a child is too much of a task for every parent. And of course that body has change and age already. So I do agree that she should consider retiring together with Federer. @aoluain - easy game for Busta-Carreno as he won 6-2,6-3. And then Gasquet beating 3rd seed Evans, not sure what is the beginning line for this match, but the score is 23. So if the line started at 22.5 then the Over is a win. Yes I watched the match, a lot of us thought Keopfer would have troubled Carreno Busta but no CB had the match under control. I put a last minute bet on Tiafoe to beat Monteiro and he did so in two sets. I'm happy enough so far with my betting in this tournament my picks are winning.

I agree that bitcoin is taking a new upward trend, but we should not forget that fundamental factors are also very influential in this direction, and we just shouldn't rely on technical analysis.
Given that the fundamentals are getting stronger by the day, it's good to look at technical analysis as well and see if they jive. Of course, we shouldn't rely on technical analysis as this is not an exact science, but majority of us here uses it as a sort of a guide because it definitely helps. So that round number again, we have breach it already, but not enough to really hold on it and sustain. Maybe the second try is going to be different and we can reclaim it again before the end of the week. So I've been chatting to a friend who does a bit of trading and understands the charts, it seems that there are 3 futures closing in the next few days and the value of $49k is not an ideal for any of them, looks like we wont be crossing $50k much for the next few days. Also on the radar but not talked about much is an incoming "Golden Cross". This article from the 10th states a number of days but it has not formed. https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-golden-cross-due-in-days-as-bears-draw-a-line-at-47k-btc-priceHistorically the Golden Cross resulted in Bitcoin "taking off" so it will be interesting to see if this time, the GC forms and if it helps Bitcoin cross $50k and by how much.

^^ Correct Carreno Busta is the top c seed in this tournament. I picked up another winner , Monteiro beat Nava (never heard of Nava before).
Tiafoe beat Andy Murray yesterday. He wont be happy with that early departure, I would say he was looking to carry some form into the U.S Open.
There are a few other interesting matches on today but I cant get onto Sportsbet to check out the odds ATM
Paire v Ruusuvuori Struff v Ivashka Carreno Busta v Koepfer Evans v Gasquet
Evans vs Gasquet sounds interesting, I might go over in this match. Struff vs Ivashka - I think Struff will win here, he has been playing tremendous tennis lately. Paire vs Ruusuvuori - First time to hear Ruusuvuori's name, I have to dig his records to see if he has a chance against Paire. But I wouldn't be surprise if Paire will easily win in 2 sets a well. Carreno Busta vs Koepfer - Tough match for Busta, but being the top seed, for sure he has this one in the bag but I'm seeing another 3 setter for him. I am undecided about all of the matches except for Carrena Busta, I have a small bet on, it wont be an easy match. @Strongkored yes i agree, there are a lot of unknown players in the tournament. Missing the last Grand Slam of the season is massive, its another year without this famous 24th GS, I think we can safely say now that its not going to happen for her. The older generation are fading out, time for the next gen.

I cant see the Chicago Womens Open on Sportsbet, there must be about 10 or 20 other tournaments listed though, strange.
I'm keeping a watch on whats happening in Winston-Salem, the only bet I have on today is Carreno Busta to win against Kwon.
I thought a lot of the top players would be there but it turns out not to be. The ones playing are all of similar capabilities and the odds are very even.
Yeah, but a lot of familiar names in this tournament, browsing sportsbet right now and there are a lot of games to put a bet. Maybe it's time to do multi-betting? Lol. In any case, I like the Busta vs Kwon match, sure fire with here I would say for Busta. Paire vs Simon Giles might be a close one though, so I won't bet on that match. yes there are a lot of familiar names in the tournament but as i posted earlier its really hard to pick winners. Carreno Busta won today, its the only one I did. Likewise it looks like qualifying in the U.S Open has started and the vast majority of the players are unknown to me.

I started out with faucets, back then, they would pay more than 1000 Satoshi for each roll, which is an extravagant amount for our current standards.
Yeah, isn't it crazy how much bitcoin you could get from faucets just a couple of years ago? And I think faucets are--or at least used to be--a lot of people's introduction to bitcoin. That was true for me back when I first started getting interested in crypto, as I didn't know how to go about buying it at first (or even how it worked exactly). Thanks for sharing that story, OP. I thought it was going to be a bloated shitpost at first, but I actually enjoyed reading it. This thread should probably be in Reputation or some other section, though. Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate feedback from reputable members of this forum. I wasn't sure on where to post this, and decided to post on Economics because I was talking about financial stability, I see that it has been moved to the appropriate category already. This thread is a way to say thank you, in return, for what this forum has provided me. Returning to the main topic now, faucets were really paying great amounts in BTC back then, I was also in MoonDoge and one more which was paying in Litecoin, can't even remember its name. They definitely used to be the first portal to cryptocurrency, I wish I had abused them to the maximum potential, let's also keep in mind how many they were back then, literally hundreds of different ones. This is a coincidence, my brother who is in crypto longer than me was talking about these faucets yesterday, press a button and you got multiples of Bitcoin, crazy to think that Bitcoin was given out free at a certain stage to aid its adoption. Good OP @Ultegra134 this is a common story as @jackg posted. I enjoyed your story. What is commendable is that you remembered all your passwords, you returned to the forum and are planning for the future.

I'm sure the question was asked before when Bitcoin was a lot lower. Its just perception.
When Bitcoin was at $1 there were many who couldnt fathom buying it at $10, the same when it went to $10 it was probably unthinkable to buy at $250 and so on.
When Bitcoin was priced at $1000 I didnt even buy a half Bitcoin. There is a phrase being used more and more its "Stacking Satoshi's", there will come a time when some people will be stating they are so happy because they have 100,000 Satoshi's.

nitrogensports.eu is offline at the moment, otherwise I'd have a look and see what's on offer (there were only two venues in the US when I put those wagers on earlier - not sure when the US open will appear) - who are you wanting to put wagers on?
Nobody in particular TBH Timelord, I normally browse to see what games are on and make a decision them
