3861  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have USD 2000 to invest. Should I buy Bitcoins or gold? on: May 06, 2015, 12:24:18 PM
This discussion has lead to a really interesting point, actually! The replicability of Bitcoin has always been a high concern and also point of critique for many people who aren't convinced of Bitcoin's usefulness. I also believe that Bitcoin and Gold are quite similar what this is concerned, as both their scarcities could be attacked and circumvented at some point!

i agree that gold and bitcoin are quite similar, but with bitcoin you exactly know the amount that ever will be mined. not the case with gold. also important is that bitcoin has way more room for growth compared to gold.

I would disagree with this, the total amount of bitcoin to be mined could easily be changed if they decide to tweak the code in the future.  In theory it could be an infinite amount.

in theory there could be 1000 billion bitcoins. but the reality is that the core devs won't mess with the 21m coin cap. that's something we don't have to worry about.
3862  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does great wealth equal great responsibility? on: May 06, 2015, 12:18:33 PM
If you are an early adopter, which most of us arent, you would be not question these guys on their wealth.

Its a similar thing where you get in a stock very early, and if you gained from it I`m sure eventually you`d want more of it. Its human nature to have greed, or go on creating more things which microsoft has, or expanding their options.

Most of those guys are have done a great impact by creating jobs in the private sector.

People who can control their emotions, and who know how to invest may not make those mistakes, though. They know when to get out, set specific goals, and stick to their strategies!

if every one was a great investor then the market would be very boring. people make profit off of people that don't know when to stop buying or when to get out.
3863  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm All In - Sold My House! on: May 06, 2015, 12:04:36 AM
At some point in time I might sell my house for coins too. More money, more bitcoins. Tongue

easier said than done. but your writing style indicates that you're not really serious. which is good. selling your house to invest is just stupid.

3865  Economy / Speculation / Re: GBTC traded 765 shares today!!!! valued at $450 per bitcoin!!!! on: May 05, 2015, 04:58:02 PM
this won't do much for the price as you can see. traders don't think it's moon time yet. it will be a challenge this year to see $300 again.

The last one week has been good. A steady uptrend.
I was surprised to see Bitcoin rise from $220 to $240 so quickly.
Maybe Bitcoin will surprise us soon.  Smiley

when the bitcoin price seems to go up for a while people get excited and then it goes down again. it has happened many times. it won't change any time soon.
3866  Economy / Economics / Re: 2014 Poll: How many bitcoins do you own? on: May 05, 2015, 04:54:15 PM
currently hold nearly 3 bitcoins. my goal is to reach 5 bitcoins via buying. rest will be earned through signature campaigns. easy option.
3867  Other / Meta / Re: memberships on: May 05, 2015, 11:28:59 AM
It is not a race.  It takes a long time to hit some of the ranks.   If you enjoy posting on here it will slowly come.

And my next one is legendary but it will be month's till I get it.  And it's random so I have no idea when I will hit it.

since there are signature campaigns, getting a higher member rank is indeed a race for people. the higher their rank is the more they earn.
3868  Economy / Speculation / Re: Look only on the one minute chart on: May 04, 2015, 11:30:20 PM
Steady upward action on low volume. As long as there is a trade of a coin or so each minute, I am happy.

man, you are wasting your time with looking at the price going up and down two bucks. there is nothing special going on at this point.

3870  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: May 04, 2015, 07:32:01 PM
Im earn today 0.01 bitcoin Cheesy It is so bad! Sometimes im earn 0.1 but only sometimes Cheesy

i don't think 0.01 btc per day is very bad. but it depends on the amount of effort that you need to do in order to get your earnings.
3871  Other / Off-topic / Re: Milestone - i've earned 0.5 BTC on: May 04, 2015, 07:28:19 PM
I think this is the wrong section, the properly one is the 'Off topic' (in my honest opinion).

My topic will say.
yes! Today is a milestone that my earnings reached 0.5BTC today...  -> https://blockchain.info/address/15zLFJqBvfZ2F2hxKp1Ljx16vktUvoZpT1
Ufffff... I've started earning from this january but i was heared about BTC by some PTC websites at last november and started visiting some faucets then some games and now sig. Campaign. This is how my earnings reached 0.5BTC after some months.. Its really hard to earn this much bits for me.

Share how hard you're earn?

~Rude Boy

Congratulations. If you managed to earn this amount of bitcoins just by using faucets and participating in signature campaigns its great achievement. Too bad that bitcoin price is now very low.
So you would be better just buy some bitcoins for FIAT. I earn some peanuts from signature campaign as well. Simply as a hobby, so its not much.

It is a little amount for a lot of work, maybe he should find a sort of work or offer a service and ask to be paid with bitcoin. In this way I think he will 'earn' more & more bitcoin.

he basically earned 0.125 a month, not what i could call a great amount for sure, but if he just posted a few post per day and played 1 hour of faucets, It would not be seen as bad gain

you're a very active forum member, what do you earn monthly or per week with just your sig campaign?
@op great achievement! now get yourself to 1 bitcoin.
3872  Economy / Speculation / Re: The $250 barrier may be broken this month on: May 04, 2015, 07:07:43 PM
I see it more retracting, and this is only a temp rise.

But, this is just what I seen from the past, and of course this is all speculative no one can really anticipate every or any price movement.

Nah, I'm still bullish! There are just too many things different this time around that would 'legitimize' a trend reversal. So many things are starting to turn green again, without us having found another bottom in the mean time, which is quite remarkable!

from the many things different as you say, name at least two important differences that indicate a trend reversal. i can't seem to find any.

i have an iphone 6. i woud like to have quality cases with bitcoin engravement if that is possible. as far as i have seen there are no bitcoin themed cases.
3874  Economy / Speculation / Re: The $250 barrier may be broken this month on: May 04, 2015, 03:21:57 AM
250$ mark is no barrier, since just the other day the price spiked above ~270 USD, of course, there was no solid buy walls and support to keep it in that range, but it just proves
that the next jump will be same or above that mark.
Anyways, if you're not daytrading, i really don't see why that low of an increase would be of some value, were we not having a much bigger expectations for this year?

you mean that empty btc-e pump to $270 ? that is not an indication as it was a planned group pump. but i agree with $250 not being a barrier.
3875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What was the turning point? on: May 03, 2015, 06:18:48 PM
definitely china's interest in bitcoin and the spike to +$1000 these happening got a lot news coverage here at that time. nowadays there isn't really worthy news being covered regarding bitcoin.
3876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Bitcoin wallet that gives interest upon deposit? on: May 03, 2015, 04:28:39 PM
how would such wallets pay interest??? Even if they did i don't suppose such interest would represent considerable fraction of the original deposit???
And if they paid interest every time a new deposit or withdrawal would result in a different amount to be paid wouldn't it???

people always look to find ways to make a few bits. but most of the time it's not worth it. reward is too low to make it interesting for people.
3877  Economy / Speculation / Re: The $250 barrier may be broken this month on: May 03, 2015, 04:25:59 PM
my guess is it will go below $200 again before we'll see a recovery to +$250 currently there is just too much sell pressure. but it's just a guess.
3878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Satoshi still have plans to access his coins? on: May 03, 2015, 10:41:56 AM
at some point every one needs money. satoshi is no exception. it may be for personal use, or for another project. but the coins will definitely have a huge impact on the market once they start moving.

3880  Economy / Speculation / Re: What might the lowest possible price of Bitcoin be? on: May 03, 2015, 09:53:10 AM
It cannot reach $0.  I for one would not sell no matter how much pressure some entity like a government tried to cause a crisis of faith, and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone.

Sure I'd like to count my coin(s) and see how it's doing against FIAT, but there's not a chance in hell that I'd give up just because it didn't measure up to some nations currency, that's so missing the point of all this.

it can't even reach $5 or $10 people will simply buy every bitcoin possible at that rate. the lowest price from a realistic point of view might be a little above $100
