3861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Terra Luna Classic pumping - can it last? on: September 06, 2022, 11:34:07 AM
I am fairly new to crypto and in July I took a gamble on terra luna classic when it was 0.00009 and it is now pumping. Can someone explain why this is and what the chances of it lasting are?

1. Obvious pump and dump scheme by some groups.
2. Maybe the people behind the project is pumping it.
3. There is hype surrounding Terra Luna classic.

I have been following it more closely over the last week as it has began getting more and more attention and apparently a lot is happening over the next few weeks which is driving the price up currently but not sure what it all means?

How realistic are the chances of it reaching $0.01 or $0.10 and how long will this take? Months or years?

Just remember that we are still in the bear market, so it make take months or even years to see that price.

I am not selling just yet but this is seeing the best returns I have had in crypto so far so may take out my investment soon and let the profit ride.

Just be careful though, sometimes the dump will happen when you sleeps so chances are you are going to miss the profits. So if you have made profits already, there's no need to be greedy, just saying, as you might learn a very expensive lessons here in crypto specially that you are new.
3862  Local / Pamilihan / Re: PBA Prediction Tournament [7.5k php in BTC prize pool] on: September 06, 2022, 11:05:58 AM

Congratulations sa lahat ng nanalo at matiyagang sumasali sa prediction contest natin. Medyo marami pang loopholes pero understandable naman siguro ito dahil first ko pang humawak ng ganitong patimpalak, di pala biro to kasi kailangan paglaanan talaga ng oras kaya kodus kay inthelongrun for the NBA prediction contest that started it all.

Daghang salamat and see you next time.

3863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Robson Conceicao - Sept 23 on: September 05, 2022, 11:59:23 PM
^^ Everyone is after the money, no more legacy or pride or try to be called the best in boxing. And of course there are styles as well, styles that make people buy tickets and wanted to see the fighters live to see how good they are like Tank Davis. But then again, boxing politics will stand in our for us fans to see if this fight is going to be made or not. But it's better for Shakur to just take one step at at a time, beat Robson in a dominant fashion like he did against Oscar Valdez and as I have said, go and unify the belts, we've seen Josh Taylor did it this year and Canelo has done that in 168 lbs. He should chase history first, before pursuing money fights.

If he will win against Robson in their upcoming fight, then its not only history that he will chase but also lots of money will be in his possessions. However, it’s always good to see a good boxer taking one step at a time because that will also give him enough time to master his own boxing skills and enhance what needs to be more develop. As for Shakur, it won’t be hard for him as he has already titles that prove his worth in the ring.

For sure, he is being trained by his grand father Wali Moses, so he is as old school as other trainer as you can get. Meaning, he would rather have his prize pupil to chase history first and not go for the money. Making a name at 130 lbs and having all the belts will be the best thing that Shakur could accomplished. So at least before he goes to the next weight class, he will be respected as he had the 4 belts including the lineal. And then he can go and fight Davis and whoever the champions at 135 lbs.

That will be much better for Stevenson, he should sought meaningful fights first to get his name carved in the industry because money will always follow wherever you will go if you will be a successful boxer in your division. He already have 2 belts in his possession and he should go for another title fight to add more belts after this title defense. I have no doubts as well that he'll have such hard time because Robson is not a KO artist, so this fight should go smoothly in Shakur's favor.

Yes, and everything is on Shakur's favour, and his power is under rated, but it has enough to bring someone down, or at least they can felt his power. And the other 2 belt holder in this division, Shakur has also the advantage over them. So we shouldn't be surprised if he gets all the 4 belts easy next year and then goes up but not vacant the belt because he has to test the water first at 135 lbs. So he has options to go down again and defend the belt at 130. Although it might be difficult to defend all the belts because of organizations different rankings and other factors, he might have to relinquish some of them just like what Josh Taylor did after unifying all the belts in 140 lbs division.
3864  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 05, 2022, 11:38:42 PM
^^ Regarding the Flores vs Mares fight. I had Flores winning, by a slim margin in my unofficial scorecard. Just to note though that Mares comes from a 4 year lay-off and the fight is in his hometown and he is a Al Haymon fighter if I can remember it correctly. So there is some biased in terms of the judges, at least that's how I saw it.

He had a good first 3-4 rounds, as he caught Flores several times. But Flores fought back up to the 10th round. And he has won the last 2 rounds for me and that should be enough for him to secure this victory by at least split decision.
3865  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 05, 2022, 11:10:30 PM
Guys, today I was visiting some sports/news sites and I read a news article about Chet Holmgren's injury (to be more specific an update on his injury) and it said that he could return to the NBA maybe at the end of the season regular or early playoffs.

As incredible as it may seem, I tried to access this site again to view it more calmly, but it seems that the content was taken down... To be more specific, this news I had read was on the ESPN website.

Has anyone seen any news similar to this about Holmgren's injury!!?

The last news that I read is that the surgery was very successful on Chet. But not sure if OKC wanted to risk him playing at the end of the season or early playoffs. I mean if they won't it to the playoff then obviously then don't need to have him play. So its better to really take care of this kid and not force him to play this season. And in the meantime, while he is on the recovery, he can build his body for one whole season. So that when he comes back, he will be stronger and might not get injury prone as OKC is building their team around this kid.
3866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A bitcoin whale is ready to sell 5000 Bitcoins or already sold. on: September 05, 2022, 10:55:59 PM
Nice FUD there, and I think this the problem right now, everyone is looking for this old and big holding of bitcoins and monitoring it to the max and see where and when it will move. And then created this thread and show it publicly, Lol, very lame attempt.

For sure majority of us here knows what the narrative behind this, but the good thing is that nobody cares this 2022. We're getting tired of this rinse and repeat kinda of thread in the last couple of months. "This and that whale move xxxxxx amount of bitcoin". Whatever!!!.
3867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which crypto has the highest potential?? on: September 05, 2022, 10:37:56 PM
Good choice of solid altcoins that has the potential of a good return. You can never go wrong with Ethereum. If went below $100 during the bear market in 2018 and look at how it goes up in the bull run in 2020-2021. Same with Cardano as well, it was just worth a cent that time and then suddenly exploded to more than $2.00.

So I won't argue with your coins of crypto to hold and buy in this bear market. And I think that's about it, 10 solid coins and no more. Because it you added some, it might complicate things for you. Hopefully you also have BTC in your portfolio, as majority of us here hold mostly like 60% of it and then the rest was spread across solid altcoins that in your list.
3868  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: September 05, 2022, 10:21:16 PM
GGG does not have to mind the trash-talk, he needs to focus on this fight and prove to the world that he can beat Canelo. Imagine if GGG will win here, that would give Canelo 2 losses in a row and will result in reducing his popularity. People will also remember that GGG is the better fighter between the two, so I understand why GGG is silent, it only says he will do the talking in the ring.
Yep, a good result is sweeter than a good words, if GGG can beat Canelo in this fight, I think many fans already stop to follow him since he can't prove if he's better than GGG. Not to mention how many bettors already lose when he fight Bivol before, they will be disappointed.

Maybe it's either Inoue, Crawford or Spence will become the best pound for pound boxer.

Light heavyweight also isn't a place where Canelo can easily beat the champion, it's a big challenge for him.

True, and I think because of the language barrier, GGG doesn't mind those trash talk, his seen better days when boxers trying to intimidate him by trash talking but in the end, he closes those big ass mount by either a TKO or KO victory.

There could still be bettors who are going to back up Canelo no matter what, just like the die hard fans of other boxers during their prime like Manny or Floyd.

This fight does not need trash talk to hype it, it was the fans who requested to see it and here it is, so I can say that it's going to be a sold-out fight and the fans will be entertained watching this. Canelo is the winner in the previous match but anything can happen here, GGG could win here and maybe retire to give Canelo a lesson that trash talking is bad.

Yes, we demand this fight, but as you can see it take years before it can actually made because Canelo doesn't want the 3rd fight anymore. But he sign a new contract and so he can't go hide about the potential trilogy so here it is right now.

So this is one of the most anticipated fight for this year, and maybe a little trash talk will not hurt this fight. As far as I can remember, GGG try to trash talk and used the meat contamination issue against Canelo. Obviously, Alvarez doesn't like it and try to defend himself in public.
3869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: September 05, 2022, 10:06:40 PM
Congrats to SMB, to coach Leo and to all of the staff and as well as the fans who have bet for SMB to be the champ on this conference.
Well, that's just like a massacre to the TNT. When I was watching the 3rd and 4th quarter, well, I thought that the lead will be able to reach and covered back by the TNT but they didn't. On the last quarter, those three attempts weren't that great whilst the opposite on the SMB, almost all of the threes were like back to back ins.
TNT still manage to chase the lead in 3rd quarter but in the half part of 4th quarter, it looks like they stop doing good plays and that’s why SMB was able to take a huge lead. Kudos to the whole staff and players of both team for a great championship series, the better team prevails and that is SMB. Lucky to the fans who are also placed a bet, time for a celebration!

That's why it's really hard to give a team a good lead and then chase after it, because you might not have the legs needed in the fourth quarter. And I think this is what happen to TNT, they allow SMB to established a good lead, and then try to cut it out in the 3rd which they did. But SMB has the fresh legs in the 4th quarter and then make another run in which TNT can't respond anymore because they are all spent in the first 3 quarters chasing SMB.
3870  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz - October 29 on: September 05, 2022, 09:51:55 PM

As for Haney and Kambosos, the result is not determined yet but as for speculation, yes we might see a trilogy soon but Kambosos's chances is somehow lower compared to Haney. Kambosos will the same trouble piercing through the latter's defenses and he is not a KO artist, that makes the fight more harder.

Both Lomachenko and Haney are expected to win on their respective fights, that happened, we will see a big fight between them. Though I must say that Kambasos vs Haney is a big fight, but we cannot deny that people believe this fight is non sense as obviously Haney will still dominate again.

upset happens all the time, but with kambosos vs haney, i don't know if there will be upset this time. but anything can happen in the world of boxing. anyway, with the match between loma and ortiz, i am positive that loma will emerge as winner here. anyway, after knowing the results of their respective fights, that's when we can really speculate good, right?

I do agree that upsets do happen in every fight like in the Lopez vs Kambosos or Him vs Lopez, but for Loma if might be a different case as he is coming from his war torn country and he wanted to show everything that he is back and that he will get back all his belts. He is also inspired by the win of his countryman, also trained by his father, Usyk. So I don't see him being careless or underestimate him, unless he is injured or something.
3871  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are people doing except holding Bitcoin? on: September 05, 2022, 11:25:02 AM
Others might have to re-invest their bitcoin profits elsewhere like stocks or real state, sort of diversify your portfolio. WO thread as one of it's kind in this community, maybe some of them are rich already and just continue to accumulate bitcoin overcome. Someone mentioned gambling, yeah, a lot of crypto based online gambling are popping because they know it's a multi billion dollar business and regardless of the market sentiments, crypto gamblers will continue to gamble.
3872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: RUIZ VS ORTIZ SUN, SEP 04, 2022 10PM ET EASTERN TIME/ on: September 05, 2022, 10:16:39 AM
Its was an old boxing match, reminiscent of the 90's boxing, outslugging each outslugging each other thru the 12 round bouts. It was the youth of Ruiz that prevail in the end as he win in a decision, Judges Zachary Young (114-111). Eddie Hernandez (114-111) and Fernando Villareal (113-112). He knock down Ortiz twice in round 2 and again in round 7. And that it enough to win because as you can see on the score the fight can go either way if not for that knock down. Congrats to those who back up Andy Ruiz in this fight.

The guy is finally back with that kind of fight he is ready for another championship opportunity if given because this kind of weight class is rare to reach up to the last rounds. With some improvement in his jabs and power punches, he will likely be in boxing for a long time. I thought the other guy will go down easily but he fought until the last round too but not enough to take down Ruiz as he already prepared to go up to the last round as well and win the fight.

That's two good wins in a row by Ruiz he is ready for another championship fight, he is more serious now Ortiz is not an easy match, he'll now have to wait for the winner of the Usyk- Fury match, if the match will push through or if not he is a contender right away against Usyk, its a better match considering that they have the same height both fighters are technical and with fast hands compared to Fury, who will just impose height against him, you can't underestimate Ruiz when he is at his best and Ortiz comes to fight it could have been close those knock downs made a big difference.

Technically, he should be the next in line for WBC belt held by Tyson Fury. But boxing politics and business, so he had to wait for the Usyk vs Fury outcome and for sure he will have a crack at it.

However, Ruiz said in one interview that he want to have a rematch with Joshua, So let's see how it goes, Joshua is nursing from the defeat he had against Usyk but he said he want to have a comeback. So gonna be great to see if this fight happens.
3873  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stressful crypto market on: September 05, 2022, 09:28:49 AM
Previously, many people could not buy BTC for the reason that it was expensive and the amount was small. Is this already on the verge of Dropping Deadline???

What do you mean expensive? it is still way below $20k right now, and if you look at the last all time high it is around $68k, So that is still a huge discount as of the current price.

So are you going to wait till it goes down $10k or even lower? what if we didn't get to that price?

Also you need to set your mindset, you can buy small portions of BTC and not necessary have to be 1 BTC right away, you can do dollar cost averaging if you want.
3874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Set Of Action When Your Account Face An Issue on: September 05, 2022, 09:13:08 AM
So you're playing in a casino and you triple your wager but when you try to withdraw you cannot what set of actions are you going to do,
Are you going to screenshot your dashboard and your deposit, are you going to create a ticket first and ask support what happens to your account or you will ask chat support and screenshot all conversations because of the fear of getting your account ban, or you will directly post your concern here in Bitcointalk.

My first course of action is to talk to the support, usually they are up 24x7 and see what's going on and try to figure what happen. I had once had this issues on a casino, when I try to withdraw nothing happens and there was a message that is very strange to me.

And so I talk to them and sort things out as this should not happen to me. And so we did, they didn't tell me the reasons but they said that I can withdraw and so I did. Perhaps it's better to have a screenshot of conversion as proof. But if you think you did nothing wrong then you don't have to fear anything.
3875  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: September 05, 2022, 05:43:21 AM
Butler will just turn into a punching bag here.
I agree. I dont think Butler can handle Inoue because the latter is a monster. However if ever Butler manage to beat Inoue in this fight this will be an achievement for him, to be the first to beat the champ. There's a low chance, but in boxing, we can expect the unexpected. Butler needs a motivation and luck in order to win.

At least Butler will punch back, unlike a punching bag, hehehe. Paul might show his skills in this fight early, trying to evade those power punches from Inoue. But sooner or later he will be fold because he doesn't have answers to the Monster volume punching + power. This could be another great performance by Inoue and become the top 1 in the pound for pound list this year.
3876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 05, 2022, 05:19:25 AM
Celtics lost some firepower for next season as Gallinari has been diagnosed a torn ACL on his left knee. That's a nasty injury and he's likely to miss the entire season. He's not on superstar level but decent role player that can fill up the rotation which the Celtics badly needs.

I agree that it was very unfortunate that Danilo hasn't even play for the Celtics and he got injured in FIBA. And that is why the name of Carmelo Anthony surfaces as potential replacement for him in Celtics. But I don't see any similarities, if there will be Anthony might be worst defender than Gallinari. But let's see, Carmelo can still play and give good numbers per night. Let's see what the Celtics will do to find at least a good replacement for Danilo and if that will be Anthony at least for this year in green uniform.

3878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Worried about Moreno on: September 04, 2022, 11:45:58 PM
There is no doubt that Monero gave us perfect privacy, but unfortunately the government didn't like the idea. The government will not be able to interfere or destroy the monero network but they can destroy it by ordering all exchanges to delist it. This will lead to the monero in danger of disappearing.

Of course, majority of us shift to crypto initially not thinking about our privacy. But then again, as we learn about, it make sense to have our privacy hidden from the public although blockchain is there for everyone to see. Unfortunately, government see it otherwise, they will want to unravel everyone who is hiding under the guise of Monero. So the battle has started, they prepared every crypto entities including exchange to del-listed this coin otherwise, they will get the wrath of regulators and government agencies. So it's better to stay away from Monero right now OP because you might have a problem later and who knows, there will be a time that you can't exchange your Monero holdings to fiat as no one is going to accept them.
3879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Super Rich people have nothing to worry about Bitcoin and Blockchain Technology on: September 04, 2022, 11:08:34 PM
The super rich  are so much worried about the revolutionary financial technology Bitcoin and the Blockchain. They need complete understanding to not to fear of the future. First, they did not earn their riches by hard labour, second they must know that they will never use their mountain height of wealth in one life time.

Well I guess they did work their ass off early, getting enough knowledge on how to become rich by investing in any instrument, like stocks, mutuals and other financial assets. So there is some form of hard labour there. And probably this will be the same with crypto and bitcoin, this rich people will need to learn the technology.

Their wealth will be inherited by their children, they must teach their children to make money and enjoy their own labour and they must setup charities to help the humanity.

Hopefully their children will learn how to protect their wealth and asset and be the next generation, and have the mindset to help humanity with that enormous money.

The solution is transferring their wealth into digital asset.

Partly, but I think they are old and traditional, so they might as well stick with what they know of, and that is stocks and others. And maybe their next generation will start to move it to digital assets and they are more adapt to cryptocurrencies.
3880  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Rematch - JOSHUA vs USYK II (updated thread) on: September 04, 2022, 10:51:30 PM
Ok here is what Robert Garcia has to say about Joshua's breakdown:

Quote
“Joshua was mentally defeated since round ten or eleven," García told Izquierdazo. “Round ten was a big one for Usyk. That changed the whole fight, and mentally we were defeated. At that point, we were relying on a good shot or something like that, because Anthony is a hard puncher, and one shot can change a fight. That is what we were hoping for, one shot, because he (AJ) was dominated at that point of the fight."

https://www.boxingscene.com/robert-garcia-feels-joshua-mentally-defeated-tenth-usyk-rematch--168622

His point is that when AJ had a very good round in round 9, but he wasn't able to finished Usyk that time with that body shot.

And then Usyk, the fighter that he is, wanted to erase round 9, simply came back in round 10 and after that, it seems that Joshua is spent already and tired and yeah maybe mentally defeated and asking how can he can't finished him in the previous round and then make a huge comeback? Questioning himself, but again, Usyk is far more superior than him so 9 out of 10 fights, Usyk will beat him.

And then Robert backtrack his statement or at least there is "lost in translation", Robert Garcia Denies Criticizing Joshua, Claims He Was Mistranslated

Quote
Garcia says his words had been misinterpreted when they were translated into English from Spanish, and that he was not trying to be critical of his charge. Garcia linked up with Joshua heading to the Uysk rematch.

“I haven’t talked to nobody, especially in English,” Garcia told ESNews. “You’re the first person I’m talking to. I talked to a Spanish reporter that I know so I gave him a little interview. But from Spanish translated to English they make it seem ‘Robert talking sh!t’ pretty much. But no. I wouldn’t say that about my fighters, man. I've never done that before and I never will.”

Just bothered me that a trainer will say that to his boxer after that fight. But let's see if he will continue to be with Joshua after this one, we have heard what Anthony said and that he will continue with his boxing career. I have a feeling that we will still be train by Robert in his next fight and then we will see if the partnership will carry on or not.
