3861  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question about transactions on: September 16, 2020, 11:01:15 PM
Isn't it the same thing to say that Bitcoins are sent from those addresses in the inputs to the addresses in the outputs?
Yes. As already explained by webtricks, bitcoins are always sent from an address (or multiple addresses) to another address (other addresses) unless they have been generated in a coinbase transaction.

I read the article you referred to in OP. I feel it is talking about sending coins from an exchange ( or any other third party).
When I send some bitcoin from an exchange, the address you receive coins from is not my address. The address is owned by the exchange.

So, the point about privacy is that addresses in the inputs are visible in the transactions written in the blockchain.
When you send bitcoin to someone, the receiver can check the transaction (or transactions) in which you had received those coins. But the main point is when you use a single address for receiving from different people or use multiple addresses but combine them when spending them.

Let's say I receive bitcoin from someone in address A.
Now, I wish to receive bitcoin from someone else. I give that person address B, so he cannot know the transaction I have received before.

When I want to spend received bitcoins, my wallet combines bitcoin received from both persons.
Since I have spent all the fund in a single transaction, the person who sent me bitcoin using address B, can know that I own the address A as well and can check the transaction I received in address A.
3862  Other / Meta / Re: What is exactly the functionality of "Report to moderator"? on: September 16, 2020, 07:31:11 AM
Does anyone have any idea how this can happen?
This has happened to my reports many times.
I guess that a moderator marked your report as bad and didn't delete the post. After a short time, that post was reported by another user and this time was deleted.

As stated by Rikafip, it can be a human error as well.
3863  Other / Meta / Re: Appeal the ban "CoinIdol News" account on: September 15, 2020, 09:45:08 PM
I do not know if it's a permanent ban,.........
Since there is no record on BPIP, the account has been banned temporarily.

To OP:

Given your post history, the account you are using now deserves to be banned as well.
Change your posting style or you will be banned permanently.

Is there a maximum amount you can bet on the dice game and what is the maximum Freebitco.in would pay out, if people win really big amounts?
You can bet any amount. But the profit you make in a single bet cannot exceed 20 BTC.

What is the biggest payout that Freebitco.in have ever paid out, apart from the Lambo draw winnings in BTC? ( Is the payouts automatic or do you flag certain withdrawals at a specific amount for manual payouts? )
Given the huge profits they make, they should have a big bankroll. So, I don't think there's any limitation.
3865  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: lost secondary password and some of Wallet Recovery Phrases lost too. on: September 14, 2020, 05:00:06 PM
I just created a new wallet on blockchain. It didn't ask me to set a secondary password. I also checked the security section and couldn't find anything related to secondary password.
So, I guess you have an old wallet created before their upgrade. If so, read the following topic. It may help you.

To those who lost their Blockchain.info Secondary Password..
3866  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 6 confirmations questions on: September 14, 2020, 01:26:55 PM
My train of thought was pretty simple: there's a 2% difference in hashrate, so if the attacker generates 100 blocks, the honest miner creates 98. If the attacker creates 4464, the honest miner creates 4464 - (4464*0.02).
Yes, The difference is 2%. But actually honest miners hashrate is 3.92% smaller than hashrate of the attacker. If the attacker mines 100 blocks, honest miners mine 96.08 blocks.

So, number of blocks mined by honest miners should be 4464 - (4464*0.0392) = 4288

The conclusion still remains the same tough: if you want to roll back a longer time of historic blocks, the time you'll need is a lot more than just the time you need to mine said blocks, since the honest miners will keep adding new blocks on top. If you decide to do a roll back of future blocks to the state at this point in time, this isn't the case.
You are 100% right. that doesn't make any difference to the conclusion.
3867  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 6 confirmations questions on: September 14, 2020, 12:52:53 PM
But... When i try to reverse the last (let's say) month: I'd have to go back to (x-4464) => 6 blocks/hour * 24 hours/day * 31 days/month.
By the time i reached height (x), the rest of the network would have reached height ~(x+4374). Oops
I don't understand how the 4374 was obtained.

Let's say I have 51% of the hashrate and 49% of the hashrate is owned by honest miners.
I mine 4464 blocks during a month. Number of blocks mined by honest miners can be easily calculated using proportion method.

So, number of those blocks would be 4464*(49/51) = 4288.

Am I missing something?
3868  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance app order history, cannot go back more than 3 months?! on: September 13, 2020, 07:46:34 PM
Probably, they add this restriction to reduce the load on their servers.
No, that doesn't reduce the server load.
Binance does allow you to see all your trades. The problem is how to set start and end dates.
Not only that restriction doesn't reduce the server load, but it causes more loads on the server.

Assuming you wish to check trades made in 2017, first you have to make a request to see your trades in June 2020 until September 2020, then a request for March 2020 until June 2020, then December 2019 until March 2020 and so on.
So, instead of making a single request to see your trades in 2017, you have to make more than 10 requests.
3869  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: September 13, 2020, 09:13:03 AM
To convert that into a percentage which many prefer just divide 1 by the number and times by 100.   So 1.4 on Novak Djokovic would equate to 71.4% which is pretty high.........
You must consider the house edge as well. 5% of the prize pool goes to house. So, for calculating the chance of winning, 95 must be divided by odds.
So, assuming the odds for a certain outcome is 1.4, the chance of winning would be 67.9%.

When it comes to freebitco, it's more accurate to say 67.9% of total amount of money has been put on that outcome.

To have a more accurate calculation, the time weigh multiplier should be considered too.
3870  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance app order history, cannot go back more than 3 months?! on: September 12, 2020, 08:58:53 PM
............
No, I was referring to order history shown at bottom of the page when making a trade. (Look at the image below.)
It does allow you to select a range bigger than 3 months but limited to trades made in the past two years.

Anyway, I think the link provided by you can be more helpful to TheBeardedBaby. It shows trades older than 2 years as well.
3871  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance app order history, cannot go back more than 3 months?! on: September 12, 2020, 08:25:41 PM
I checked the application (on android) and had a same problem.

I also checked the web version. It works with no problem. It even allows you to select a range bigger than 3 months. But the problem is that, it doesn't show trades older than 2 years. So, it's impossible to check trades you made in 2017.

I don't know what you are exactly trying to do. If you are trying to know what alts you had bought, it may be helpful to check your transaction history instead and see all your withdrawals. (If you had withdrawn those alts off course.)
3872  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: September 10, 2020, 10:31:13 AM
Love this site, seriously. Actually lost a lot due to some security issue here but I have now changed everything and done 2FA (it was my fault for not doing that 2FA) but I have not once seen good odds on the betting options as compared to bookies so I presume I should be checking the odds here closer to the expiry time.
It's not always a good idea to bet late.
The odds depend on time weigh multiplier. The later you bet, the smaller the time weigh multiplier will be. So, if you bet very late, you will win a smaller share of the prize pool. The person who bets very early can win twice your prize.
3873  Other / Meta / Re: [CLUB] The SpamBusters! Busting rule-breakers constantly. on: September 09, 2020, 10:41:30 PM
I guess the Account got already nuked maybe , just wanted to know if anybody else got also this PM from that User or from other Users !
No, the account hasn't been nuked. There is no record on BPIP, nor on modlog.
Also, according to Loyce.club, the user hasn't made any post. It seems that, the account has been created only for sending PM.

I haven't received such PM.

3875  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Need help with Old Electrum Wallet on: September 08, 2020, 10:21:35 PM
This one I don't know that you can make a 2FA on Electrum wallet, can you show us how you do it?
You need to select "wallet with two-factor authentication" when creating a new wallet. (Look at the following image.)

3876  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Need help with Old Electrum Wallet on: September 08, 2020, 10:11:26 PM
I can't make a backup of the seed. It's under wallet but it's "greyed". I've read somewhere that it's because I'm using the "2fa".
There are two possibilities.
The first one is what you mentioned.
The second one is that you are using an imported wallet (A wallet created by importing private keys).

If you want to have a wallet which you know its seed phrase, I recommend you to create a new wallet and move all your fund to that.
3877  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Need help with Old Electrum Wallet on: September 08, 2020, 09:57:18 PM
.......I'm not sure which panel it is in exactly but you can just go through file and across (it's probably the wallet menu) and click to reveal the seed once you put your password in.
Yes, That's same as the current version.
The seed can be found in wallet > seed.

I just found the following post made by HI-TEC99 in 2017.

3878  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Need help with Old Electrum Wallet on: September 08, 2020, 09:33:30 PM
Any version of Electrum is able to read wallets created by older versions. So do not worry. Go to Electrum official website and download the latest version (Don't forget to verify the signature). You can use the new version to open your wallet.

Warning:
Download Electrum only from its official website and ignore any pop-up that asks you to update Electrum.
3879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC sent and confirmed but not received on: September 08, 2020, 08:52:10 PM
Does there any btc client available for newbies (like op) that gives the ability to broadcast a transaction with different input formats? I am familiar with almost all the known clients [bitcore/electrum/bither/mycelium...] and they allow allow to create a wallet in one address format.
Electrum does allow you to have wallet including addresses with different formats.

Look at the image below. I am importing a legacy address, a nested segwit address and a native segwit address into a single wallet.

Below is the result.
