Googled it.

3882  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler's fallacy, does it exist? on: March 26, 2015, 09:18:00 AM
lol, had already answered all those yesterday. Wink

Well Gambler's Fallacy is derived from the law of large numbers. Of course if you flip a coin 10,000 times with all heads, the next flip is still a 50/50 but the odds of that happening are really low.

--snip--

That would be the chances of getting 10.000 heads in a row if im not mistaken

That is definitely not right. The odds of getting 10 heads in a row is 0.09% . And not the figure you have posted.

Any questions? Tongue

(If you are confusing '.' and ',' read : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decimal_mark#Countries_using_Arabic_numerals_with_decimal_point
Easy way to identify is if there are 3 zeroes, it is thousands and not a decimal point usually.)
3883  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The Hero Bitcointalk Deserves on: March 26, 2015, 09:12:49 AM
I can hear you asking - why would Bob be so extra generous with Marco? Well, Marco wore different faces in the giveaway, once it was fathur01, while at other times it was nizamcc, anshar, yeponlyone, TrollboxChamp, DeboraMeeks, nor9865, MikeCorleone, 2double0 and my favourite pierre11.

...

You know what fathur01, nizamcc, anshar, yeponlyone, TrollboxChamp, DeboraMeeks, nor9865 and 2double0 have in common? Their last post was on Jan 3rd, the one before on Dec 21 or Dec 15. Going back we find post number 3 is on Dec 3! and before that is our Bob's giveaway on Nov 23rd. You can go back even further and see how Marco has been collecting activity points for his non enrolled accounts.

anshar followed a slightly different path as it was enrolled in Nov, but it fell back in line when it couldn't get in Sad
MikeCorleone is having a tough time joining the others, and its trust rating is not helping either due the perils of publicity.
...

Seriously, anshar is not marcotheminer right?
Any proof for your suspicion?

Seems you're still in March 26, 2015 according on that image Tongue

Impressed with your detective skills!   Wink

Dang! You noticed.

Here are a few of my observations:
1. Trust should be darker green
2. eleet is for post count - not activity

P.S. Age and date registered is correct though. Smiley

You can only get a max feedback score of 150 (in the first number).

It might change when the 1.5m$ forum comes. Wink
Besides, 150 limit currently only appears to humans and their alt accounts with cats, dogs and goldfish.
3886  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler's fallacy, does it exist? on: March 26, 2015, 08:16:44 AM
Can someone tell me what is wrong with this:

Taking the entire possible set of rolls (from nonce 1 to a certain number) (rolls are from 0 to 100) with the same server seed and client seed as the Universal Set, if one of them turns out to be say 3, isn't the chance of getting another roll as 3, slightly (very very small amount) less than 1%?

That is U = 1000
1st roll = 3
Then the rolls left are 999, right? (nonce changes)

If this is right, gambler's fallacy will be true in provably fair systems, however small the impact is. (absolutely not in real life)

Edit: House edge will be trillion + times the difference. But for this, please assume house edge is 0%.

I am not sure I understand your point.
Are you saying that, because there is no collision found yet, sha512(server seed, client seed, N) will not be the same as sha512(server seed, client seed, 1), so the chance of having a result same as the first roll is lower?

Well, I am saying that if there are 10000 combinations of SHA(server seed, client seed, nonce), etc. of a coin and assume there are x heads and y tails. If the first one is head, won't the probability of getting a head on next toss be (x-1)/(x+y)?

(This won't happen in real life of course, but is it true for provably fair systems?)
3887  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: [p50pot] a multi-player simple mathematical game, played with bitcoins. on: March 26, 2015, 07:58:23 AM
looks like a cool new concept.

I will send in a small amount to check it out. Are the automatic refunds instant?

Won't it be a problem if I send 100 mBTC with no fee, it refunded it, it never got confirmed and the transaction got erased? Do you set a min. number of confirmations before sending?

I sent with no fee. Someone is playing too Smiley

Edit: Transactions appear pretty quick. Cheesy

Edit2: No refund. Will I get it after it gets confirmed?

3893  Economy / Services / Re: [0.25 BTC Contest] - LazyCoins Signature Design on: March 26, 2015, 06:38:05 AM

Yep, it is less visible, too plain, and may not fit. Signatures are required for I think 3 levels. Glow is allowed only for Hero, Legendary and above signatures.

Competition is hard, because rosinpl is participating. You don't know how many will come, because they will pop up only around the deadline. So don't be overconfident. Do you have any past works?

Good luck Smiley

My first altcoin Wink

I don't know all the tech aspects, so how do I know of blocks mined and transactions if suppose a few others are also mining it?

Reporting bug:

Under stats, player profit is shown as Negative (for positive player profit)

That is say, a profit of 1BTC is shown as -1BTC

Best regards
ndnhc

That's known issue, linked to stats, will be updated when stats will be merged, atm wagered amount on BJ doesn't count to receive rain.

Uhm.. I was playing Blackjack. The server stopped responding and then the dealer started acting differently.. What's the deal?
Lost .02 BTC I had in play... :/
Come to chat, need your bet id to check.

I can't chat as I lost my balance.. :/

np, just wanted to inform ya anyway. Wink

I can't see the bet of 0.02. The bet was not made and you lost the balance? or was the bet made before so that is won't be shown in All bets?

Just informing that we do not have any plans as of now in switching to a bot.

Thanks Smiley

P.S. Report link is currently added to the managers signature. I wondered if it was okay to carry a 'Report me' link in one's own signature.. Will consider that suggestion. But it might need redesigning the current signature to make it look better.
3898  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 20 BTC First Global Credit trading competition imminent on: March 25, 2015, 07:35:32 PM
do we really win 20btc or we wont be able to withdraw them

Question op i will be joining this have you got any ideas how many other people will be joining i am obviously looking for ball park figure?
Does the lucky winner have to do a certain amount of trading before they are able to withdraw winnings from the 20btc not that i would but would be good to know.?

You are correct, the winner doesn't get 20 BTC on their hands. What they get is a trading account loaded with sufficient margin to trade the value of 20 bitcoins. Or at this moment about $5,000. As soon as you make some profit off that $5,000 you could remove some or all of it.

As of last evening there were about 700 people registered for the competition though not all of them have placed trades at this time.

I am on it. Smiley

But, it is difficult that I thought. 50BTC total profit for top 10 is just wow. Would be hard for me to get there. Are there any consolation prizes? And do I need to verify info if I won?
3899  Economy / Services / Re: [0.25 BTC Contest] - LazyCoins Signature Design on: March 25, 2015, 07:32:26 PM
Just as a tip, don't accept submissions from: izagani, roslinpl, medUSA, or ndnhc.

They usually use stolen work, etc.
You were flaming ndnhc in the da dice thread, and now you are including others in your flamewar. I received a PM from izagani asking me to look at your accusation, however you have not presented any proof in this claim or in the da dice thread.

I am curious to know why you are making such claims without presenting any evidence.

He just thinks I am everyone. (indicates his above average intelligence)
And he hates me for some weird reason. I haven't been able to find out why, yet. Wink

While everyone else is busy arguing and accusing each other I am going to submit my design soon and win this thing. Can you end the contest earlier? I know it says a week on the ann but thats too long.

lol, I am not even participating. You can't beat me.. Smiley

No, I don't suggest shortening the period. If you need a good sig, it takes time.
3900  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE.ME - CRYPTO CASINO - DICE - BLACKJACK - >100BTC MAX PROFIT - 1 YEAR OLD on: March 25, 2015, 07:22:29 PM
Here's another little issue:

The game automatically stands for me when I get to 21, but not if I get to soft 21.

Nobody ever wants to hit soft 21, so it seems silly not to auto-stand on it. It might even cause them to mess up split hand play - the indication of which hand is currently active is pretty subtle, and they may incorrectly assume action has passed to the right hand side if the left hand has reached soft 21 already.

Yeah, that is quite possible, especially if you are on fast play mode. Wink
