Let's break it down step by step:

Thank you Pmalek, your post is a real definition of the word "discussion".
I like your method of discussion. If you agree, you agree with reasons. When you disagree you still outline your reasons rationally. This gesture would be welcoming to new users like us. It will not only give sense of belonging, but will foster knowledge acquisition.

Unlike some who will attack this way; "You must be crazy if you think the moderators have the time to check all the post" etc.
3882  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and The Countercyclical Fiscal Policy on: June 18, 2021, 08:41:41 AM
My question, as Bitcoin is massively adopted as a legal tender, despite being a decentralized system, does it have a design or policy that will do exactly what the countercyclical fiscal policy does?
Thank you!
I don't know how you have considered that bitcoin is massively adopted as a legal tender, because it is not!

Maybe the statement should be "If Bitcoin is massively adopted..."
However, I have noted that bitcoin works on a scarcity model and also as point out by @Tytanowy and @Banks, no government does the countercyclical fiscal policy in real life. It is however surprising that things are mostly said than done in today's society.
3883  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin and The Countercyclical Fiscal Policy on: June 16, 2021, 08:29:04 AM
An economy whose legal tender (money) is minted and controlled by her government, has a money-flow control system called "The Countercyclical Fiscal Policy".
The Countercyclical Fiscal Policy in simple words can mean; a situation where the government  reduces interest, approves more grants, reduces taxation and pump in more money to the society when she notices that there is a looming recession. In the other hand, the government increases taxation, increases interest rate and reduces public expenditure when there is boom in the economy.
My question, as Bitcoin is massively adopted as a legal tender, despite being a decentralized system, does it have a design or policy that will do exactly what the countercyclical fiscal policy does?
Thank you!
3884  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What More Should Satoshi Do? on: June 16, 2021, 07:54:02 AM
The only thing Satoshi Nakamoto should do now is what his being doing at its best which is,

To stay or remain anonymous

Satoshi has successfully confused the whole world up to this minute. His nature has been undefined by the world's intelligence. No one can tell if the entity Satoshi is a 'He' or 'She', a single individual or a body.

It makes me wonder how 9ne man got so smart in everything that, what he started 11years ago has been able to surpass even the current world intelligence and innovations that they can't really comprehend. That every step or attack on the system turns to provide support in some way.

Satoshi's anonymity is vital to the survival of bitcoin, this is all that is asked of Satoshi.

I was thinking differently that if Satoshi shows up, it will give more credibility to BTC, not until I saw @Bitmover post and this one. I now have a second thought.
3885  Other / Meta / Re: Is The Purpose of The Merit System Defeated? on: June 14, 2021, 05:19:04 PM
Tell me, how can we prevent someone from reading something?
The OP did not say anyone should be prevented from reading. It says newbies would be allowed to read in every board for learning purposes and allowed to post only in Beginners and Help.

But the OP needs to be checked again, he probably also belongs to this gang.
Some other users also threw this allegation at me. But I don't understand why it should be. Is it that my post is egocentric or above what a newbie should post.
If the later is valid, that means the OP is validated. Maybe because I didn't undergo the proposed orientation to know the kind of post to make as a newbie.
Please sir, I am just few weeks old in this platform, help me to grow. Thank you sir.
3886  Other / Meta / Re: Is The Purpose of The Merit System Defeated? on: June 14, 2021, 11:34:19 AM
I propose that;
1. The newbies should be restricted to posting only in Beginners and Help Board.

If that rule was in effect, you couldn't have posted it here!
In other words, you are already breaking your own rule.

But luckily this rule doesn't exist, and it allowed you to share other ideas to the community. Do you see the advantage of not having these limitations?

I understand, but whichever way, I would stil have made the post in Beginners and Help which still fits in.
3887  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Plagiarism and Paraphrasing, different sins of equal magnitude? on: June 14, 2021, 09:11:16 AM
If someone says that Bitcoin uses a public and decentralized ledger, is that plagiarism? is it paraphrasing or can it be considered public knowledge? Do I need to put a source link anytime I use words like decentralized, ledger, distributed, open-source, etc? What about backward compatibility, do you think anyone puts any links when talking about it?

Paraphrasing as an act of plagiarism can sometimes be difficult to prove. How are you going to prove that someone's post about importing a private key into a wallet is plagiarized/paraphrased just because the steps he wrote down are the same as what other people wrote previously?

Whenever someone explains how a bitcoin transaction goes from point A to point B, it's paraphrased from somewhere even though you memorized and you know the process by heart. There was once an original post about it, people read, improved, and memorized the process.

This is deep. What this means is that in everyday life we paraphrase knowingly or unknowingly. If so, there should be a distinction between some statements which are generalize and the ones that are personalized to be cited.
3888  Other / Meta / Is The Purpose of The Merit System Defeated? on: June 14, 2021, 08:49:35 AM
I understood that the major purposes of the merit system is to ensure quality, uphold standard and standardize ranking.
If the above hold true, I have a proposal.

I propose that;
1. The newbies should be restricted to posting only in Beginners and Help Board.
2. However, newbies should be allowed to read in all boards for learning purposes.
3. All other members save newbies can post in the Beginners and Help.
4. Every newbie should remain in this status for a period of 90days. After the expiration of 90days, the forum moderators shall examine the performance of every newbie, then immediately award a certain number of merits(Let's say 10, 20, 50 etc) according to the performance of the newbie in this 90days orientation period. Also place the user in any rank other than newbie according to the performance aswell.

Pros:
If this is implemented, we could have the following results
1. The rate of spamming will reduce drastically
2. The rate of plagiarism will reduce aswell.
3. This will curtail stagnation or abandonment of an account
4. This will help guide users on which boards to post, most often you will see a newbie posting a Beginners and help post in meta.
5. This will reduce the amount of none quality posts
6. It will also reduce off topic posts.
7. It will encourage the newbie to research and have good knowledge of the forum and Cryptocurrencies at large in order to be awarded higher merits and promoted to a good rank after the orientation period.
8. It will ease the moderation of the forum.
9. The discusions in the rest of the  boards would be interesting, technical and quality .
10. It will ensure the introduction of users with ample knowledge of the norms of the forum into the forum.

Cons:
1. It will limit the chances of a user in a campaign to complete his/her weekly task. However, I don't know if newbies involves in campaigns or not.

Thank you!
3889  Other / Beginners & Help / Plagiarism and Paraphrasing, different sins of equal magnitude? on: June 13, 2021, 08:55:46 PM
I have to make this topic after reading many posts by my fellow newbies about Plagiarism without taking into consideration things that are synonymous to Plagiarism.

Plagiarism and Paraphrasing are different sins of equal magnitude.
While the former is the outright lifting of someone's work either in the forum or outside the forum without due reference to the source. The later can be said to be the act of re-writing someone's idea in your own words or understanding in order to enhance clarity. Paraphrasing might not be called a sin if the source is duly cited. But much often, paraphrasers steal the glory of the source, in this case it becomes a punishable offence.

Now, there is a third brother in this category called "Interpretation and/or Translation "

The position of Translation is not much pronounced, but I think she is the deadliest of them.
Translation without referencing the source can be seen as Paraphrasing in different languages (while paraphrasing is done in same language in either different or same language code).
Translation without referencing the source should also be seen as an advanced Plagiarism.

Having hinted the above, in this forum, is the severity of their consequences same?

Are they different sins of same magnitude and same consequences?
Thank you all.

What More Should Satoshi Do?
Satoshi laid the foundation of Blockchain Database.
He went further to solving the problem of Double Spending in Digital Currency.
Then, he created a Bitcoin for all.
He did not end there, he removed the key to the currency from the hands of the powerful leaders of the world. Then, duplicated the key and handed over each spare to everyone.
Now, our fate in our hands to decide what to do with it.
Tell me, what more should Satoshi do???
3891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Will The Sorrow of BTC Be The Pleasure of Altcoins? on: June 13, 2021, 05:31:15 PM
The word "Alt-coin" should mean "Alternative Coins". And the word alternative in a layman's language should mean having an obvious option. Example, having an alternative plan means I can decide to use Plan B, most especially if plan A may not favour me at that time. Also, Coffee is an alternative to Tea, in this scenario, alternative is a choice and not a measure of importance. In a situation where an alternative is a choice, is therefore means that the Sorrow of one will be the pleasure of the alternative.

Relating this to cryptocurrency, if BTC who is the mother of Cryptocurrencies and who has gained extensive trust ceases to exist today, will altcoins flourish or will it make the people loose total interest in cryptocurrency.
3892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are all altcoins dependent on Bitcoin? on: June 10, 2021, 08:09:33 PM
The thing that concerns me a bit is why coins didn't rise when the BTC was pumping hard earlier this year.
Thank you very much from this side. When people keep saying Domino effect and sought of things. Why didn't this effect work for altcoins when BTC was pumping very high. Or is there some concept of it that is latent?
3893  Other / Meta / Re: Effect Of Plagiarism In Forum. on: June 09, 2021, 07:02:37 AM
Since OP got banned for plagiarism ( ironic considering he started this thread) he won't be able to answer your questions, but most obvious reason is ignorance.
[/quote]

It's so ironical, started a thread about plagiarism by advising people against plagiarism and still plagiarized in the process. But he's not ignorant of plagiarism because was educating me (newbie) about it Huh
3894  Other / Meta / Re: Effect Of Plagiarism In Forum. on: June 08, 2021, 10:07:35 PM

The word plagiarism is coin out from two Greek words " pla" meaning "USE" giarism meaning "ANOTHER"

Please how did you land at this? It seems organized but it is passing a wrong information. It the act of teaching people the wrong thing. I think plagiarism is better than what you have committed. Let me not just conclude because you might be correct from your angle when you prove it.

The word "Pla" in in Greek does not mean "Use" and I don't think there is a word like "Giarism" in Greek. Infact to set the record straight, Plagiarism is gotten from a Latin word not Greek "Plagiare" which means to Kidnap.
Please how did you get your thesis?

3895  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: When to Mine the last Bitcoin. on: June 08, 2021, 07:35:23 PM
Thanks once again @DannyHamilton and @odolvlobo it's clearer now.
3896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are all altcoins dependent on Bitcoin? on: June 08, 2021, 07:20:13 PM

When BTC starts dropping, people usually exit alts and try to buy BTC at lower prices, thus causing a cascade effect

Wow! This is very interesting and logical. I believe this. If not the only reason, it is surely one of the reasons. But clarity is still needed here. If people exit altcoins when BTC is dip to get BTC, making altcoins dip too. Why do altcoins rise when BTC start rising again. I think the exited altcoins in certain time is supposed to remain in dip and not follow BTC immediately.
3897  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Are all altcoins dependent on Bitcoin? on: June 08, 2021, 09:54:52 AM
I want to understand if all altcoins are built upon the foundation of BTC. This is because when there is severe crash of BTC, all other coins, I mean all, also crash.

Is there no independence in the cryptocurrency world?

Thank you!
3898  Other / Meta / Re: Elon Musk threads are moved to Off-topic ? on: June 07, 2021, 09:52:29 PM
Before I knew about Bitcointalk.org, I already knew cryptocurrency and started making some investments. Suddenly, I started seeing Elon Musk tweets promoting cryptocurrencies like Dodge and BTC. I was amazed to the extent I started reasoning that Elon Musk could be Satoshi. Especially when he accepted BTC for Tesla products.
Not quite long his counter tweets and reversal of the BTC payment method came.
It was at this stage that I joined this forum. I was actually looking for a topic I can discuss under. I was seeing Elon Musk everywhere which almost validated my thought of Elon to-be Satoshi. When I wasn't seeing the posts and started reading comment I began to understand that Elon is not our very good friend.
It therefore means discussing him here regularly will give him an undeserved accolade for the fortune or misfortune of BTC.
3899  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Life Cycle of Bitcoin on: June 07, 2021, 04:10:08 PM
.

In your study of Product life cycles, I hope they taught you that the average product life cycle is ~10 years.
BTC born in 2010, so 11 years old, past the age of collapse for most products.
New Phase is beginning of Government Banning of said bitcoin product,
if Bitcoiners don't find a way to stop the increasing bans due to their global energy waste,
then we will be in the decline cycle with a very fast ride on the way down.

If I were you, Check out Cardano and it is a New 3rd Generation Blockchain product
It solved the energy efficient issue
It solved the onchain transactions issue
It has capabilities Bitcoin can't even dream of.
It product cycle is just beginning.  Smiley

FYI:
The thing Bitcoin needs to stay out of the decline stage is a design change to PoS,
but bitcoiners are refusing to evolve, so a permanent decline to $0 is possible.
Ethereum is evolving by switching to PoS design, so their product cycle will be continuing .

You are saying that bitcoin needs a redesign in order to remain relevant in the market. Also you noted that 10yrs is let's say average product life, now BTC is more than 10yrs.

But from mining table of bitcoin, it's estimated as the times goes the BTC becomes more valuable and scarce. It is somewhat confusing to determine actually how it will be in the future.
3900  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: When to Mine the last Bitcoin. on: June 07, 2021, 09:59:17 AM

Thanks @Darkdays @BrewMaster @BlackHatCoiner @odolvlobo and @Charles-Tim. I am grateful. I am beginning to understand the concept.
@Charles-Tim the table you share is cool and easy to understand.  But from serial number 26 at the year 2108 downward, there is zero BTC left to mine, yet there is still BTC supply till 2136, what really happened?
