@suchmoon. Hehehe yes, we might have another Tom Brady storyline for this season.

I was also implying more about the odds reduced near with the favorites. Bet Broncos before Rodgers and then sell the ticket after Rodgers hehe.

Great news for cryptocurrency. As young as it is, cryptocurrency is already populated with all kinds of scammers and scam projects. It needs thorough cleansing. These scams are destroying the name of crypto and even of Bitcoin. A lot of people equate Bitcoin with crypto.

Anyway, I'm not sure if this One Coin ponzi which Ruscha Ignatowa is operating is the same One Coin which has become somehow popular in my country. If it is, I hope they will stumble upon this news and be enlightened that what they are getting into is false hope.

I would argue that it was already great news for cryptocurrency that it is presently being used for all types of criminality. Also, it is very hypocritical to say the cryptospace needs thorough cleansing. These coins are not holy objects. They are only software tools for everyone including criminals. What needs thorough cleansing is the whole world if you want thorough cleansing.
3883  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: British police seize $408 million and arrest woman aged 39 on: July 14, 2021, 01:22:13 AM
The police claimed they seized cryptocurrency, however, the article does not say how and what they seized. I am skeptical. They might not have seized anything and if they seized something, what kind of cryptocoins? It might be a wallet full of Binance smartchain tokens hehehe.

Sorry, .0015 is a little high for me being someone who does not deeply know the sport. I cannot promise to join the league presently, however, if accepted in Duelbits’ signature campaign, I will join hehe. I had planned to sell some of my SMC tokens earned from a campaign to pay for the fee, but it appears much of the project’s development team dumped and left the project. I had $300 of SMC now reduced to only $40. Sad

While we still have a solid 5-6 weeks before a draft, I'm just wondering what will happen to the price of BTC between now and then. After all, this is Bitcoin...

What if we give you a week to change your mind? FF is fun and encourages you to learn about the players. I learn way more than I ever would if I weren't playing. However, if you'd rather not invest the time or the BTC I understand. It can be as time consuming as you want it to.

I will join! I also thank Direwolf for his offer in the private message. That was very kind of him. However, I was accepted in Duelbits’ campaign hehe.

Also, you might be right. Should we send the payments soon before bitcoin pumps?

I would recommend we draft as close to league kickoff as we can as nothing is worse than drafting a guy high up and having something happen to him before the regular season even starts! Cheesy

Also drafting before pre-season is just taking alot of the fun of scouting new talents away.

Agreed! Aaron Rodgers. We cannot be certain what he will do or where he will go. The rumor is the Denver Broncos. Broncos futures to win the superbowl is presently 21.00. This might reduce near with the favorites Kansas City Chief if Rodgers joins Denver.

Presently also Gizmodo wants to join the cryptocoin fud news party for clickcbaits hehehe. The regulators are coming after Binance, we know this. However, is this claim by Gizmodo real? I have never heard anyone from the cryptospace claim that they have their coins frozen forever in Binance. Those issues always came to a resolution.

Gizmodo submitted a Freedom of Information Act request with the Federal Trade Commission, asking for any complaints filed with the FTC about Binance. The agency found 760 complaints filed since June of 2020, 200 of which were released to Gizmodo and redacted to protect private information. And while the redactions making it difficult to independently verify each individual claim, we start to see illuminating patterns.

The first, and arguably most alarming pattern, appears to be people who put large amounts of money into Binance but say they can’t get their money out. Most often, but not always, it appears their accounts were flagged for “suspicious activity” and the people are unsure how to then withdraw their money from Binance, even after trying to verify their identity. Other times, people say they deposited money but simply aren’t able to take any money out for weeks and sometimes months, assuming they could access the money at all.

@o_e_l_e_o. What the Russian government can do is hire a service similar to Chainalysis and blacklist certain addresses, warn exchanges of those addresses and follow those wallets’ transactions. I am not quite certain if exchanges are fearful of the Russian government enough to freeze accounts that have received transactions from blacklisted wallets, however.

3888  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China might really be out of Bitcoin and the cryptospace on: July 13, 2021, 02:52:58 AM
@temple. Agreed! I have read some news articles on how China has militarized its southern border facing India and had a skirmish versus the Indian military using spiked clubs that killed Indian soldiers and their captain. You can google China India border fight to find that article.

They might be expanding their empire hehehe.

They have been expanding their empire, checked the Philippine West Sea and Scarborough issue, they are expanding territories and aggressively building military installations to that island who is still in dispute.

So regardless of their plans on bitcoin, whether they are out for good or not, there are more pressing issues on their side, specially trade and military expansion around that region.

China has also declared that they are strengthening their military ties with North Korea. I speculate next would be Iran, Pakistan and some countries in Asia that have become victim of China’s debt trap policy. Also, one of the first signs of this forewarning is when your country allows testing of China’s vaccines on your children.

There are some people in China that says the Chinese government wants to begin giving vaccines to their children, however, it requires more testing on real children. I speculate it would be first tested on the children of countries indebted to China.

The North Korean and Chinese leaders expressed their desire Sunday to further strengthen their ties as they exchanged messages marking the 60th anniversary of their countries’ defense treaty.

These MMA fighters should have a shin conditioning regiment similar to Thai boxers. We cannot expect these type of injuries to stop in the octagon if the fighters have not done the proper conditioning. Conor’s shin was not hard enough for execution of that type of technique.

@stompix. Hehe okay, instead of diminshed trading volumes we should be cautious when there is an abnormal pump on trading volumes while the bitcoin news and mainstream news media publish fud in the middle of a government crackdown hehehe.

^^ Probably Conor talking about the supposedly Pacquaio fight.

Quote
In an interview Thursday with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, McGregor admitted that he wasn’t fully focused on the task at hand. He wound end losing via second round knockout to Poirier.

“I pitied the man. I was looking past him. I had a Manny Pacquiao camp in place,” McGregor stated.

This time around he insists that he is fully locked in on his rival and doesn’t expect the fight to go the distance.

“I’m coming to kill the man. I’m coming in with vicious intent here. Mortar shots. What else can I say? That’s the way it is. I’m looking to take this man out cold,” McGregor said.

https://www.boxingscene.com/mcgregor-admits-he-too-focused-on-pacquiao-overlooked-poirier--158996

So he is motivated here, as others have said, it seems that he is different and fully focus and wanted to get Dustin heads off in this match.

I think he was motivated to take his head off in the previous one, he was head hunting with reckless abandon through the fight XD I hope he is a bit less motivated to take his head off and more motivated to stick to a good gameplan if he is in there to win, obviously. But I'll give him the benefit of doubt.

It is quite certain that Conor will be very motivated to go head hunting for this fight. He was disrespected by Dustin when Dustin tweeted that Conor lied about the donation he promised for Dustin’s charity. However, it was only Conor’s lawyers asking for an complete list of where the money would go and how it will be spent. Dustin, who might need more experience in these matters might have assumed Conor was avoiding the promised donation and he went to Twitter telling everyone that Conor lied about the donation.

Conor McGregor has claimed Dustin Poirier made a “grave mistake” by calling the Irishman out over a charity donation he promised he would make to the Diamond’s Good Fight Foundation

Conor McGregor has blasted Dustin Poirier months after the Diamond called him over a charity donation he failed to make to Poirier’s Good Fight Foundation.

Following their bout at UFC 257 earlier this year, McGregor was expected to donate $500,000 to Poirier’s charity which helps underprivileged families in the American’s home state of Louisiana.

However, weeks after the bout McGregor still hadn’t followed through on his promise, which led Poirier to respond to the Irishman on Twitter and call him out.

“That’s a fun prediction! You also predicted a donation to my foundation and you and your team stopped responding after the fight in January," Poirier stated.

McGregor replied to Poirier at the time, claiming the Diamond had never shared what he planned to do with the donation.

“A donation, not a debt,” he said.

“ We’ve been awaiting the plans for the money that never came. I do with all my donations. Know where it’s going dot for dot. Otherwise it goes walking. As is the case with a lot of these foundations, sadly.”

3893  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-07-09] Russia Drafting Law on Confiscation of Crypto Assets on: July 10, 2021, 01:38:38 AM
Another concern is if your wallet has received a transaction from a tainted address without your knowledge, does the government have the right to confiscate your coins under this new law? I reckon if the Russian government were to enact such a law, they should treat cryptocoins like real currencies where the government cannot confiscate paper bills used by criminals that accidentally went to an innocent bystander’s pocket.

To show an example, if a criminal used his criminal paper bills to buy something from a store and one of those criminal paper bills went as change to an innocent customer, does it give the government the right to confiscate the paper bill from the innocent customer?

3895  Bitcoin / Press / [2021-07-09] Russia Drafting Law on Confiscation of Crypto Assets on: July 09, 2021, 05:41:12 AM
If there are Russian users reading this, it might be good to begin learning about Monero and other anonymous coins. You cannot risk your wallets being tainted with dirty coins if it is not tainted already. Also, I know there might be some of you would who will use the argument that there was data from Chainalysis that showed only 1% of bitcoin transactions were criminal. However, you cannot trust the Russian government not to frame you or taint your wallet themselves.

This is okay if your wallet holds only a small amount. What if you are a holder of $1 million in bitcoin? You might not be 100% safe.

Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov has revealed that legislative amendments are being prepared on the confiscation of crypto assets. “A serious challenge is the criminal use of cryptocurrencies in our country,” he said.

Russia is preparing amendments to the current legislation to allow for the confiscation of crypto assets found to be proceeds from crime, Tass reported Wednesday.

Krasnov said that virtual assets have become a source of income for criminals, emphasizing that cryptocurrencies are being used for corruption, including bribery. “The latency of these criminal acts has recently been aggravated by the use of crypto assets as bribes,” he asserted, adding that cryptocurrency exchanges have been used as “a way of laundering stolen funds.”

@Darker45. All of the articles that I have read on the matter appear to be very vague and unclear. The articles said banned from undertaking of any regulated activity. Does that not imply trading with or without leverage?

That indeed implies all kinds of trading and all other activities which are regulated. The catch there is regulated. Activities happening on platforms which are not under regulation from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) could go on as usual. The regulatory body couldn't impose anything on them as they are not under its jurisdiction. Meaning to say, Binance.com which is operating outside the UK is beyond its regulatory powers. Therefore, what is actually under the scope of the ban are activities of Binance Markets Ltd which is what is only under FCA regulation.
According to the Financial Times, deposits from the Faster Payments network have been disabled in UK, and now SEPA transferts from all countries in Europe are also disabled. So it seems to be a very serious case. And Binance is in a critical situation.

Quote
Deposits through the UK’s Faster Payments network have also been disabled over the past week. Barclays, one of the region’s biggest lenders, said on Monday that it is barring UK clients from buying cryptocurrencies on the exchange using bank cards.

https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/oeyzkj/binance_to_suspend_eur_deposits_via_sepa_until/

I speculate that we might first witness Binance’s daily average exchange volume slowly go down as the first early warning signal before it shuts down if it is going to shut down.
3897  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China might really be out of Bitcoin and the cryptospace on: July 09, 2021, 04:37:27 AM
It appears that China is not stopping the bans only on bitcoin and the cryptospace. The Chinese government is also beginning to create a proposal to block Chinese companies from doing IPOs and stock listings in other countries. China is making great efforts to keep all the money inside. The skeptical me says that there is certainly a much bigger agenda behind this. Preparation for a big war?

Regulators in Beijing are planning rule changes that would allow them to block a Chinese company from listing overseas even if the unit selling shares is incorporated outside China, closing a loophole long-used by the country’s technology giants, according to people familiar with the matter.

The proposed change is the first indication of how Beijing plans to implement a crackdown on overseas listings flagged by the country’s State Council on Tuesday.

It would also threaten a lucrative line of business for Wall Street banks and add to concerns of a decoupling between China and the U.S. in sensitive areas like technology. Chinese firms have raised about $76 billion through first-time share sales in the U.S. over the past decade.

3898  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: July 09, 2021, 03:45:09 AM
Good news for XRP holders. Jed’s big yearly dumps on the Ripple community will be nearly ending hehe. However, what should be more intruiging about this is how will this impact Stellar? Jed holds more than $2 billion presently. This should be more than sufficient to support Stellar and fund other developments on the project.

Crypto billionaire Jed McCaleb — a founder of defunct exchange Mt. Gox, Ripple Labs, and most recently Stellar — is nearly finished offloading all of his XRP.

McCaleb has sold almost 2.4 billion XRP so far this year, equivalent to over 25% of his original founder’s reward (9 billion XRP).

In that time, XRP’s price has been extremely volatile, ranging from $0.22 to $1.96 at its peak on April 14 — the token’s highest point in three years.

XRP’s price averages out to $0.82 across days that’ve seen McCaleb sell tokens in 2021.

This makes it likely McCaleb generated about $1.95 billion from XRP sales in the past six months alone.

3899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr - August 21 on: July 08, 2021, 07:20:23 AM
He will be the boxing President soon, lol.. I can't imagine it would happen too, if I'm not mistaken, he is the only boxing senator, so he will make another history if he still fights when he becomes President.
That's crazy.

If he won, he won't be able to become a fighting president anymore. The call of duty as the president and father of a country is more important to his career so he has to leave it for sure.

A joke aside, his opponent would think that he punched a president LOL.

That would be funny. It would also be much funnier if Pacman’s next fight as the president is versus Conor McGregor. Conor would be trashtalking a sitting president of a country hehehe.

@BrewMaster. Yes they never left. I was implying more about their confidence on the cryptospace market. I found the article where Cathie Wood mentioned institutional investors went on pause after China’s crackedown on mining and Elon’s negative tweets.

Cathie Wood, the founder of Ark Investment Management, said bitcoin – which has lost up to 50% of its value in the last few weeks – has come under pressure from institutional investors concerned about its environmental profile.

“It was precipitated by the ESG [environmental, social and governance] movement and this notion, which was exacerbated by Elon Musk, that there are some real environmental problems with the mining of bitcoin. A lot of institutional buying went on pause,” she told Nathaniel Whittemore in a pre-recorded interview broadcast Thursday?

@Lucius. Much of those investors will find their way to bitcoin, I reckon. How do you think it has maintained  its place in coinmarketcap.com hehe.
