3881  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Vietnam has a large number of participants in the MLM Lending model on: January 21, 2018, 02:32:19 PM
Why are you sad? Bitconnect was funny thing and many people actually earned in it. So you should not be scared to try it out as well  Smiley

I am sad because there are many who have lost their asset. I know it's their own fault.

then there is no reason to feel anything for them. someone who is lazy enough to do a quick research does not deserve the sympathy of others.

we have incidents that someone scams you even after you research and do whatever you can to prevent it, in which case it is not the user's fault.
but we also have people who are trusting anything and anybody. and they are not underage children that lost money to these scams. they are adults capable of thinking!
3882  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin regulation on: January 21, 2018, 02:25:25 PM
regulations are not always a bad thing. they are sometimes even necessary for example in order to keep these wild exchanges in line and stop their illegal activities.
but sometimes the purpose of the government for regulations is not to make things easy but to prevent the growth, specially when it comes to bitcoin some rare countries are afraid of what bitcoin represents.
3883  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is momentum from bears is weakneing now as BTC breaks above 12K? on: January 20, 2018, 04:46:25 PM
Well there were many people calling a drop to 5k when we briefly saw 9k so it seems after the recovery to above 12k the bears could be losing a bit of control.

I guess only time will tell but I think the bottom has been & gone.

i actually read something pretty interesting that day when the price was dropping that i have been repeating ever since.
the thing about this 5K and that ballpark speculation is that each time there is a drop, everyone comes out and makes these very exaggerated dropping speculations and that good example was from exactly a year ago the same time when price went up to $1200 and then fell to $900+. by that time the same people were predicting $500-$600 as the bottom and price never even lasted more than 20 minutes at $900 before jumping back to $1000+ and going to $1200 very soon.

now we had the same thing. the same people, different price but same percent drop and same dumb low speculation Wink
they say live and learn, i don't know how much it is true when it comes to bitcoin.
3884  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Profit to Fiat on: January 20, 2018, 03:57:53 PM
i can't remember the last time i went back to fiat! maybe it was somewhere around when bitcoin was $5000 where i sold a small because i needed the money.

other than that i go back to bitcoin instead. every time i make any profit in altcoins or on bitcoin itself, all of it in the end will go back to bitcoin and i transfer that to my cold storage. i did that yesterday where i bought in the dip.
3885  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Order time binance on: January 20, 2018, 03:39:21 PM
well it depends on many factors and remember there is a difference between execution of an order and the order getting filled.

when you execute the order it virtually takes no time to reach the Binance server and be placed in their database. it is a tiny amount of data you are sending them (a couple of bytes) so even with a slow internet speed it only takes a second.
so it depends on your internet speed and latency to "Post" that request and then it depends on their server computer to receive it, gets your information from their database, checks the MD5 hashes to see if you used the right private key and then acts based on the request, generates a response and gives it back to you.

i have never actually measured this but i think (based on experience) the whole thing is about 1 second. and during server over load time it can take forever!
3886  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Again all coins to the moon! on: January 20, 2018, 03:30:58 PM
"all" coins are not going to the moon. almost all of them got some rise if you compare it to their very bottom that they reached in the previous dip but if you compare their prices to lets say 5-10 days ago you can see they are still in a big dip and that is because their pumps are still on going. they slowly lose value with these small dead cat bounces.

only bitcoin is rising in long term and a handful of altcoins will keep their price up.
3887  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: if central bank release cryptocurrency, any effect on current market? on: January 20, 2018, 03:08:36 PM
central banks have already released a currency, that is called fiat. then they released a digital currency, which is their banking systems, cards,... making the same thing using cryptography and blockchain technology doesn't make any difference. it is the same thing using some different underlying technology.

so no it has no effect on bitcoin and any other altcoin that is not centralized.
3888  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin saving is not safe on: January 20, 2018, 02:55:53 PM
investing in bitcoin is risky because bitcoin like any other new technology is in its early stages and because of that, its market is pretty small and has sometimes unpredictable swings. which is why every person who understands investment will tell you "invest what you can afford to lose".

at the same time this means bitcoin is very profitable because those who invest in it now are the early adopters who will be rewarded for the high risk they are going to take. just like those who bought bitcoin at $0.01

and none of this has anything to do with being hacked. if you are not careful you will lose the money in your backpocket to pickpockets in the street. that doesn't mean money is not safe, it means you weren't careful.
3889  Economy / Speculation / Re: Shops/stores will lose money when Bitcoin price falls on: January 18, 2018, 04:50:07 PM
This is not true. Nobody spends Bitcoin, period.
That's a bullshit claim. You think payment systems like Bitpay, eCommerce sites like Purse.io, big companies like Steam, etc. would actually accept bitcoin payments if there was no one using it? It's not rocket science.

unfortunately some people thing that just because they have never used bitcoin that means nobody else uses it either
you said a very good example and let me give some numbers to give the readers some feeling about how things are.
according to BitPay blog the merchants that are using their system have received $110M+ per month
3890  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to find good cryptos? on: January 18, 2018, 04:23:50 PM
Second way is exchanges - Now there are 2 reasons for this one does it have the potential to get listed on a bigger exchange or will it have a positive effect.
For potential on getting listed means let's say a coin get's listed on bittrex that means the price would get pumped for sure and it will rise so that's one way.
For exchanges it is listed on matters because if at all you feel something new is going to be announced if it is listed on major exchanges there is a high chance the price doesn't get dumped because of the volume and with this your profits remain stable.
How do we know it has the potential of getting listed, is there any parameter to determine that?

most of the times there are insider information when the developers for example are in the process of meeting with the exchange owners secretly or even paying them to list them and pump their coins on their platform such as poloniex and bittrex. we won't know this until it is too late.

but on occasions, they make an announcement that they are going to add some coin to their platform. and that is when the public knows this. you should be a follower of the coin to get the news faster and later one see the exchange announcements for list of future additions. sometimes they have pages for this.
3891  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Impatience kills projects on: January 18, 2018, 04:14:54 PM
altcoin market is in a way like pennystocks. and that similarity is only in the huge risk, unpredictability, and big swings. otherwise there are no other similarities.
altcoins are not regulated and extremely manipulated. you can not see that in penny stocks.

also you seem to be ignoring the fact that most of these "projects" are pure bullshit. they put up a pretty front with some pretty words and a paper (that sometimes they pay someone to write it for them). and 0 product. someone with minimal programming skill can create one and they do create lots of useless projects. hence the 100% pump and dumps in mere hours.
3892  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A bigger dip to come? on: January 18, 2018, 04:03:57 PM
with normal market movements there is no way (0 chance) of any more drop. bitcoin is now officially on a recovery path heading back up towards the ATH. and as we get closer to the end of January the rise will start and become bigger.

but market never stays normal all the time. there is always a chance of "tides changing", but at this point there are no indications of any change and the market makers are buying bitcoin at the moment to get ready for the rally.
and at the same time the money is coming back to bitcoin from wherever it went (other markets or altcoin markets or simply out).
3893  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Accepting payments in cryptocurrencies on: January 17, 2018, 04:37:22 PM
it depends on the coin/token they want to pay you with. and be careful because most of them don't have a value yet (the unreleased ICOs) and will tank hard since they are useless.

and remember that those who offer to pay you in their own coin are doing it because it costs them NOTHING. they never paid for those tokens, they got them through a premine process. it is like a line of code which gave them those coins out of thin air and now they want to "sell" them this way buy buying a product or paying for a service.

additionally in order to receive payments in a cryptocurrency you need to have a cryptocurrency wallet. wallets need to be a trusted desktop application that has been around for a while and is open source and peer reviewed by many. that is hard to find for altcoins, you usually are left with a web wallet (low security) or an exchange (no security).
3894  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do we ALWAYS have FUD on the 2nd-3rd weeks of January?? on: January 17, 2018, 04:19:33 PM
I have been in crypto since 2016, but I never went message boards (BTCtalk, Reddit, etc.) until late 2017.
in other words you had 1+ year free of drama and headache Wink

Quote
Given that we have seen January (2nd and 3rd weeks) dips happen always in the history of crypto, do we still get so much FUD and panic, even when it is fully expected that a dip would happen?
if the dip is expected, that is when the FUD is at its highest rate because everyone is doing it. for example right after a long rally where a correction is expected.

as for January it is funny since i posted this yesterday for the past 4 years:

who knows why, maybe it is the Lunar New Year, maybe it is just the other new year (being in January that is), maybe just coincidence.
i wouldn't put too much faith in patterns like that but it is good to know what they are.

Do we always have this useless and totally made up "TA" telling us that Bitcoin will crash to nothing?
only always Cheesy
3895  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC PRICE at 6K and 60K for 2018! your thoughts? on: January 17, 2018, 03:59:01 PM
most of those "speculations" are not speculations, they are "wishes" with their authors calling them "speculation" Wink

i remember back in 2017, in fact it was exactly 1 year ago today in January 2017 when price went to $1100+ the same drop happened and the same "speculations" were saying "it is a bubble, China bans bitcoin, it will drop to $600 and then $6000".
the drop was to $930.

i wouldn't put too much faith in any of these speculations. the market is now testing new buy supports and there was no reason to break $10k and go below it anyways! but i would love some cheaper coins in my paper wallets.
3896  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Crash! A New Chance to Make Money $$$ on: January 17, 2018, 03:53:13 PM
- Sell Your Car & Invest In Bitcoin
- Sell Your House & Invest In Bitcoin
- Sell Your Furnitures & Invest In Bitcoin
- Sell Your Land & Invest In Bitcoin
- Sell Your Shirt, Pants, Underwears and Cloths & Invest in Bitcoin

your are giving terrible advice and making it bigger and colorful does not make it any better.
yes, bitcoin will recover.
yes, bitcoin is now being sold at a discount.
yes, you will make a lot of profit if you buy now.
but i wouldn't go all in like that. that is crazy. it is still a risky investment and even if there is a 0.00000001% chance it can go down more it is not a good idea to invest like this.

not to mention you are promising "get rich quick with bitcoin" thing and that is why we are here! lots of newbies who never understood anything invested because of this promise 1 months ago and now they are panic selling, crashing the market and making the whales richer.
3897  Economy / Speculation / Re: time to buy soon on: January 17, 2018, 03:29:08 PM
i am only buying bitcoin because i am afraid that when bitcoin recovery begins altcoins can drop even more. and it is not unheard of for altcoins to drop during bitcoin price rises so the risk is still there and as bitcoin crossed a big resistance line it is now a good signal for buying it.
3898  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why this sharp drop in currencies ? on: January 17, 2018, 03:12:20 PM
- the price had gone up too fast and too big. it was corrected but many big players weren't satisfied with it. hence all the bubble FUD.
- there was another couple of news about some countries including China (surprise surprise) banning bitcoin
- there is the issue with high fees.

and finally it is be cause we are in January!

3899  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the bitcoin price recover? on: January 17, 2018, 03:05:49 PM
price goes down to recover!

and bitcoin will recover, like always. right now it is the large scale manipulation of small time investors to get their coins cheaper so that you can sell it back to them at that recovery and take the short term big profit from doing so.

these are pretty interesting times though. to see how successful the dump is. i am personally counting the minutes when price stays below $10k
3900  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What to do in this Dip on: January 16, 2018, 05:09:09 PM
At moment i have a large list of coins.
this is always a bad idea. when the numbers grow it becomes impossible to manage them and during both rises and falls you will miss out.

Quote
should i still eventually invest in more BTC? ETH and LTC
should i sell off some alt coins and re buy at a lower price, since everything is still falling?
thoughts?
if i were you, i would have sold most of my altcoins and focused on only a handful of them. not just the top ones like ETH, LTC,... but a lot of them are good options at times and focusing a lot on one coin that is rising is always better than having a little in 100 coins that never rise.

and during the drops like this it is best to stay away until it reaches the bottom. currently we are pretty close to that point.
