4841  Economy / Economics / Re: Is anyone else done with this BTC game? on: May 21, 2017, 03:58:07 PM
i just want to thank you for selling your 100 or maybe more coins. it is good for the rest of us because when someone with a large stash from the old cheap days sells it creates a much better distribution which i can even call fair distribution for those of us who got into bitcoin 2015- 2016 or 2017 and so on.

and there are a lot of perfectly good reasons for the price rise, you are just not seeing it for some reason.
4842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In terms of acceptance of bitcoins... on: May 21, 2017, 03:42:20 PM
there are a couple of obstacles in front of any person or business to accept bitcoin in my experience:
  • understanding: many don't understand bitcoin, mostly older generation who are used to the old ways that don't even like using credit cards or online payments and such.
  • legality/regulations: this one is the biggest obstacle in my opinion. bitcoin may not be illegal in majority of countries but it is not regulated either. and that prevents many from buying it or businesses to adopt it because they are worried about its future and how the government with deal with them in case they use bitcoin, it may be misconception in there too.
  • scaling: i think we all know how big the mempool currently is.
  • misunderstanding: this one is different from the first one. it is knowing what bitcoin is and investing in it but only for the profit when they sell it or for silly things like cheap transaction. and not because it is a secure decentralized peer to peer currency with a great level of privacy.
4843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is Now the Most Secure Public Blockchain, Overtaking Bitcoin on: May 21, 2017, 03:30:37 PM
maybe it is just me but i don't consider a centralized altcoin with a very high chance of another exploit and yet another hard fork (for the 5th or 6th time) as a safe thing!

and as the worst part is, the developers admit ethereum is not even a currency! how people keep comparing it with bitcoin is beyond me!

oh, and i forgot to mention the 70-75 million ether ICO Roll Eyes
4844  Economy / Speculation / Re: $2000 to $2100 in 12 hours! on: May 21, 2017, 03:27:27 PM
these little price corrections are amazing.
you can see market is so active and healthy, it is eliminating any chance of this being a bubble when each time we are seeing yet another dip after the big rise in correction and then continue on upward.

4845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: we need to stop using bitcoin and start using... on: May 21, 2017, 03:16:20 PM
i mainly said we should use Satoshi instead of Milli and Micro because although these may seem to you as obvious units but these two units belong to "metric system" and that is not used worldwide despite being international!
and i have seen many struggle with understanding what m and u mean.
4846  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price per BTC on: May 20, 2017, 04:14:14 PM
ever since $1100-$1200 all these prices are uncharted waters.
below them, people always had some reference and many were actually scared to invest in bitcoin. you can actually see the posts and topics saying things like "this reminds me of 2013 and GOX" and that caused many to either not sell or not buy or dump occasional for the fear of $1000 is the end.

but when price went up past that point people stopped believing in the "this is 2013" FUD and also after that all the good news and legalization of bitcoin in many countries helped this rally even further. so here we are talking about $2000 like it is nothing.
4847  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / we need to stop using bitcoin and start using... on: May 20, 2017, 04:00:31 PM
... satoshi instead (click-bait master)  Cool

today someone came to me saying how he was regretting not listening to me and investing in bitcoin. apparently he checked the price this morning Cheesy
and he continued that now it is too late since he can not buy 1 whole bitcoin.

i had to sit him down and have the "talk" with him about all the 8 more zeros that come after the 1 whole bitcoin and the fact that he can choose (almost) any of them and put a number and buy there.

that is why i think it is time to start using the smaller units for bitcoin more often.

i myself prefer Satoshi over all. but there are a lot of them.

most popular:
mBTC= 0.00100000BTC
uBTC=bits= 0.00000100BTC
satoshi=0.00000001BTC

4848  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchange BTC services on: May 20, 2017, 03:47:42 PM
Hello. Could anybody provide me information about BTC exchange services where I can choose some highest fees for quick transaction? Such as bitsler. Many thanks!

BTC exchange service is where you go to trade bitcoin!
fees you pay for transactions are for on-chain transactions and has nothing to do with that!
bitsler is a gambling site which has nothing to do with anything you said so far!

so would you mind rephrasing your question and asking what you really are really trying to do?!
4849  Economy / Exchanges / Re: DAFUQ IS HAPPENING ON HUOBI???? on: May 20, 2017, 03:43:22 PM
bitcoinwisdom website (which the screenshot in OP seems to be from) sometimes gives these weird glitches and they display weird information like this. so i guess it is safe to assume this is also the case.

i can't open huobi for some reason, but it would be easy to double check with their website to make sure.
4850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit Signaled on: May 18, 2017, 04:42:49 PM
It's on the borderline, check the twitter feeds.
This is what I'm hearing but I cannot find anything definitive. Is this why BTC price has started moving?

[i m g]https://i.imgur.com/tsbmn6T.png[/img]

 Not close.
Also, support appears to be declining.

edit: Segwit was @ 36% of blocks last week and now is back down to 32% of blocks

it is the same amount as it was before, nothing has changed. that 4% is just the simple change up and down because of the way finding a block works. it is not a guarantee to find a block, it is a chance!
sometimes you find 420 blocks sometimes 425 and sometimes 418 for example.
4851  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Recovering lost bitcoins on: May 18, 2017, 04:27:01 PM
with a quick google search i found out that the link you gave belongs to a service "bbitco.in" which was a "get paid to" kind of service from back in 2013 and since i don't think that service is around, you can not access the account.

here is the announcement: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=140021.0
4852  Economy / Speculation / Re: Unlike alts Bitcoin will not crash on: May 18, 2017, 04:21:59 PM
the thing you need to know is the fact that bitcoin has the demand necessary for its rise and this demand is not only not going anywhere but also it is increasing day by day.
but for altcoins the demand is temporary and it is only coming from traders wanting some big profit.

also the difference between a correction and a crash is a lot, but most people see any drop as a crash!
4853  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Yobit INVESTBOX on: May 18, 2017, 04:09:18 PM
i think it is time for me to withdraw my little amount from this place, their actions have been very alarming lately.
they keep adding methods of taking money from their users, before it was with gambling, fake pumps and now it is with an investment plan. they seem to be collecting all the scamming methods ever existed!

i wouldn't be surprised if next thing they add will be a "double your bitcoin in 24 hours"!
4854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Altcoin that changed their lives forthe better? on: May 18, 2017, 04:01:55 PM
Can anyone relate to any Bitcoin or Altcoin that changed their lives forthe better?

in a very short time you will see a lot of lives change because of altcoins, because like always many newcomers unaware of anything have invested into the bubble of altcoins and like always these bubbles will burst and these newcomers will be crushed under the big dump.
4855  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When the portfolio goes down on: May 17, 2017, 03:52:21 PM
use stop loss to prevent things like that. make decisions first then set the numbers so if and when price dropped your sell orders are placed automatically and without you needing to worry about losing your head and getting emotional Smiley
4856  Economy / Economics / Re: What would benefit bitcoin more? on: May 17, 2017, 03:20:11 PM
all of them can be good in different situations. for example school thing only works for a certain age range and bitcoin is not restricted to kinds who are in school! but at the same time it is very effective to introduce bitcoin to kids in a correct way at school.
4857  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 17, 2017, 03:09:56 PM
how do I know an ICO to invest in?

None of them. Buy bitcoin and HODL.

Look at what you think are the top 25, either still in ICO or already released and launched. Then pick the top 5.

4 of them will flop and dump to zero. 1 of them will do 10x or 20x.

Of course, it's quite possible you picked the worst of them and they all dump to zero. I say, just go for the free airdrops that you see, and some cheap altcoins, or buy a small amount. Don't day trade (unless that's your thing.)

Now, I've gotten maybe 20 altcoins, and maybe 15 or 16 of them are worthless now. One is I'm waiting for something to happen, another I already made 5x the ICO price but I'm still waiting for something else to happen.

Then, you trade some or most or all of it to bitcoin and HODL.

If you had Ripple or Litecoin, regardless of what you think of the coins themselves, they were profitable to HODL about 2 months ago, and then sell. But there was really no way to predict all that. It's like everyone is saying 3 years ago to invest in ETH, but noooooo... I didn't. And the ones who did probably didn't HODL long enough.

in my opinion none of this still justifies investing in an ICO. if you want to invest then invest in an altcoin that already existed and have been listed on an exchange.
the information that can be gained from just looking at the charts is 1000 times better than going in ICO where you are completely blind to its future.
4858  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would you do if Bitcoin price crashes? on: May 17, 2017, 02:44:37 PM
the same thing as i am currently doing!

i will be sad for sure but as long as there is a network and a miner to mine, i am going to buy bitcoin from a peer and then use that bitcoin to buy stuff wherever possible. if price was $5000 i will buy 0.04BTC and use that. and if price was $200 i will buy 1BTC and use that Smiley
4859  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Problem with Poloniex on: May 17, 2017, 02:33:16 PM

it doesn't matter what they say, their actions are unacceptable. they have a volume of nearly 600,000,000 dollar each day and even if you only consider a 0.2% fee of that amount, it means a 1.2 million dollar pure profit each day. with that amount of money they must provide a much better service.

and i find it funny that all the other exchanges are working well but only they are under DDoS!
4860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will 'WannaCry' increase the global demand for Bitcoin? on: May 15, 2017, 04:03:13 PM
Is 'WannaCry' creating a new address per user?

according to things you can read in this topic:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1916199.0
it seems like they have hard coded a couple of bitcoin addresses inside the ransomeware itself which asks for the payment in one of those addresses.

If they have hardcoded bitcoin addresses, then how do they monitor individual payments of different users?

looking at the transaction amounts, each one is different because of price difference, so it is possible that the program asks them to pay exact amount of $300 for example 0.167599BTC and type in the TX ID then it uses a blockexplorer or a node to check if it is paid the exact amount and gives them the key.

the 0.167599 amount was taken from one of the addresses and you can see the amount is already unique.
