3881  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Best places for Crypto Traders on: December 18, 2020, 12:02:53 PM
I am a fully active twitter platform user and I am 100% sure that crypto on Twitter is highly dangerous, there are hundreds of unknown tokens and coins on Twitter that aren't listed anywhere and people are creating Hypes for this tokens, from deflationary tokens to DeFi projects, twitter is so unsafe compare to other crypto forums, it's just a fake hype haven
This is correct. Because of the reason that twitter accounts are often shills of some scam project - which means mindless bamboozled noobs who have been promised a pay for doing that. Those projects are scam and they wont even pay the people promoting them and therefore very dangerous to follow or take investment notice from.

Heck you should never trust anyone on social media for any investment tips. They are all there to promote their own bullshit and take your money away. A wise trader does not spend time on social media but rather use it in developing own FA/TA and charts, planning their next move and cycling their money through the bull and bear.
3882  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you rely on the odds when placing bets? on: December 16, 2020, 02:30:52 PM
Relying on the odds means following the general trend. The bookie has found the "better" team and giving them winning a higher chance and thus a lesser multiplier than the underdog. Now this has a logical basis and 90% of times, this might be correct, specially later in the seasons when some teams seem to be dominating the news.

However it is just a pointer as to who might win - you never know early in the season because then some matches might be fixed (worst case) or the underdog might end up winning a match and the better team lets them go because its not Elimination yet - wild guesses only.
3883  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin the third 'most crowded trade' in global fund manager survey on: December 16, 2020, 02:27:32 PM
Definitely a good thing to see. Tech stocks are currently leading but FMCG is a stable sector too if you are looking to invest in any of those.

Bitcoin though comes from a different sector, I like to differenciate it to crypto in general but for me only bitcoin is in that group. Altcoins dont need to be there.

Seeing fund managers putting assets in bitcoin means institutional money coming into crypto. This should be a bullish trend but note that fund managers dont give much importance to long term hold. They are managing funds and if they notice certain asset dropping low making the portfolio look bad, they will back out of it. Because their job pays them to keep that portfolio all green.
3884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: the most important thing in the development of a project? on: December 16, 2020, 06:40:03 AM
OP made some idealistic claims for a project, hate to say all of those might not be existing in any project but still be successful. Point is that comparison of a niche market like crypto with the mainstream projects is a poorly done one. These two cannot compete and thus projects and its owners seek private investors for fiat money and fiat market.

Therefore an inherent method of generating a market is what lacks in most projects. If there was a method to spend the tokens in the service and get incentivized returns against fiat payments - then the market for that altcoin would have boomed. Of course it needs to be substantial and take time to develop. But without this, market will end up being a pump and dump for any altcoin and gradually lose its investor base.
3885  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: bounty hunter on: December 16, 2020, 06:34:01 AM
When you choose to be bounty hunters you also need to pay attention to the updates of the project that you are promoting if you see irregularities do not hesitate to leave the project and if you choose to continue it will be your own responsibility get nothing.
As a bounty hunter it is their responsibility to keep tabs on the bounty they are taking part in. The reason this does not get followed properly is that one bounty hunter may take part in hundreds of bounties at the same time. Because of this none single bounty gets their full attention. Mindlessly they spam social media and the forum hoping to get paid millions. Though things have reduced nowadays a lot in the forum.

But yes, this increases the problems. They dont check when a bounty gets cancelled or stopped - keep on spamming it and then complain they never got paid. Lack of sensible skills, I would say but its a lot more to that.
3886  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Btc and alts on: December 16, 2020, 06:31:07 AM
AltCoin price is always Depend on bitcoin price,
This is not an absolute statement. Did you read what I wrote above and what others have said? Not sure how long you have watched the markets and came to this conclusion.

Quote
not only for altcoin this price is depend full markets. I noticed that, when the bitcoin price was Dump then many altcoin price has big dumping,  and when bitcoin price was Pumped then many coins price has Increased.
You may see that movement or the opposite. Thing is there is not direct relation, topic has been discussed at length several times before.

Since bitcoin's price rise makes all the altcoin holders think they are going up as well, they buy and inflate the price. Thats why the alts pump. Same happens when Bitcoin dumps. There is panic selling of altcoins. Again these two timings may not match.

If you look carefully this pattern is more or less followed but depends on perspective and timing. Still dont use such statements as basis of making trades.
3887  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM ] Xeniumx copied Origin Protocol whitepaper! on: December 16, 2020, 06:27:30 AM
The link with RBCG is interesting. If it is the same group of people running this scam it would not be a surprise. Once a scammer gets the taste of easy money from scams they cant let go of that taste - its like an addiction for them.

The accused dont seem to respond after their last "test" - says they will come back after 25th Dec. My bet is that they will not be coming here at all at least not to clear their names or explain the reasons of these copied whitepapers or links to other ponzis.

But they might run some more "test scams" again. Grin
3888  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Btc and alts on: December 15, 2020, 09:28:13 AM
There is no unanimous vote on any of these statement to be absolute, though.

All of them can be correct depending on perspective and which movement appeared first. I have seem most of the times during a bull run Bitcoin pumps first and then altcoins follow suit, followed by a dump of altcoins and a dump of bitcoin.

The basic reasons why altcoins never reach the top or for that instance will never be second is that they have no specific use market/use case. You might argue on the opposite but I have been watching them closely for several years now and I follow the winning team only. Cheesy

What you need to do, keep tabs on bitcoin price, buy it at low and then sell at high. Rinse and repeat.
3889  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you believe in bitcoin/altcoin market stock predictions? on: December 15, 2020, 09:23:04 AM
Predictions are always a 50-50 thing. They are "predicting something in the future". It is not a confirmatory statement as to what is going to happen but a conclusion, sometimes based on observing patterns and prior records.

Now this is something that is a bit of a gimmick - we have people who tend to "sell" prediction picks to others. Now whether these are mathematically sound or researched is beyond my scope of study. But do they make money off it? Yes but that money comes from the buyers of the predictions, not by using those predictions on the market - you get what I am trying to mean here? Its a scam.

Traders who are lazy enough to not so some simple FA (leave out TA for the sake or argument) - even they are not willing to work and draw own conclusions as to what coins to buy and what not to and when to buy/sell. It cant be helped like this though and these scammers will keep on doing their shady stuff.
3890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Best places for Crypto Traders on: December 15, 2020, 09:17:34 AM
Which platforms/social media/blogs/forums are you active on the most? I see that crypto Twitter is on the rise lately being very popular among traders.
None. If you think social media is going to help you with what trends there is buzzing, you are going to be late in the game. Trends are created elsewhere, they get popular on social media, not the other way round. How so, if you ask, I would tell you to trust my last several years in the market experience. If not, you can follow your footsteps in the social media and see how misled you will be.

Quote
I would basically just like to interact with others, share info, and see what others are posting. where to? Thanks!
This is one thing that you should not do when you are a trader and hoping to book some profits. You never reveal what TA you made or what coin you are going to buy next, instead you say the opposite. Like you want to buy some coin, you should FUD it so its price technically drops and you can catch it at lower price. Seems unscrupulous, but it is how this market works. Wink
3891  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Bit-rocket.tk - Ponzi scheme on: December 14, 2020, 06:50:01 AM
Shady domain - check
Newbie account - check
Offering huge returns in short time - check
Terms and Conditions page empty - check
Red flag support - done

Well I was hoping to see our old friend hypomania to be doing this but seems this one is a new account probably owned by the same scammer groups running the others.

At least they went for the highest figure to 20% only because I have seen higher numbers too.
3892  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to get VIP Signals? on: December 14, 2020, 06:43:41 AM
Not all I think,
You think, - why? You dont some analysis on them? Took part in them? I would like to hear your side as to why "not all". Remember that in crypto, till date you can use the terms all/100% because they are like that. For example, only bitcoin is needed to be bought to make profit. - how do I make that statement? From watching charts for 5+years now.

Quote
but the thing is I don't want to get any help or pay any amount just for VIP signals, like you may do it on yourself , it is better to have your own strategies, learn and teach on your own, so that if the wrong thing happens to your trade, you will not blame anyone, you will be resposible enough for your mistakes and maybe after that you will learn more and you can teach others as well.
If you are doing your own analysis, then why are we discussing about VIP signals anyway? Roll Eyes

When people become lazy and dont want to do their own FA,TA then is the time the signals group concept come in their minds. Now scammers are already aware of this and their job is to take advantage of others greed and laziness. So they create such groups, spread them and continue these scams.

Believe me or not, does not matter. Truth is, people want to blame others for their losses. A trader should learn to avoid doing this.
3893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: bounty hunter on: December 14, 2020, 06:38:47 AM
Poor is not an excuse for bounty hunters that promoted a scam project to defend themselves. If a project showed a clear sign of fraud but there are still bounty hunters want to work for it then yep, they're both partners in crime. Poor can't cut you some slack for this.
Try to look into the bounty hunters perspective to get the idea. They did their their research and believed in the project but then it turned out to be a scam. If they immediately withdraw all support then the damage if not undone, can be minimized.

Again another hunter may be out here just to spam and get paid for it - the worst kind. They will not even do a basic check on the project and join it and then complain why they never got paid and got some red trust on their account. They are the ones who create childish threats in "Reputation" and start posting filth there about their negative trust rating.

We have all sorts of hunters here. No wonder it is a mess. Cheesy
3894  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: exchanges that support low amount of conversion on: December 14, 2020, 06:34:40 AM
I have a little amount (0.015) of BCH in my wallet. I am thinking of swapping it to ETH and moving to my ETH wallet. but lots of exchanges does not support little amount. do you know any exchange website that is possible to do that?
I would suggest you to go with a P2P exchange with a like-minded member on this forum. The amount is small and correctly stated by many others that the fees for sending and transacting would eat up most of the money.

However there is still one problem. The basis of security of exchanges done on the forum are the escrow and they might not want to do a meager value exchange because of the fees. The fees is what they are taking for ensuring that the funds dont get misplaced.

Honestly you can try asking them about it or not using an escrow which is a again silly thing to do. If they dont agree, you would be out of luck.

Dont deal with users coming out in telegram PMs telling you that they are escrows. Contact them here first.
3895  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] Yebo Finance Stolen Conten on: December 13, 2020, 07:33:16 AM
They just replicate and do some small tweaks to make it look different to an untrained eye. Some sell the same script to other scammers so you can be cautious about this site.
The untrained eye will fall for it or at least think for sometime that the project may be legit. Script peddlers are very common in this forum too. One of them is well known and red-tagged and flagged, but of course not banned because this is a free speech supporting forum.

Quote
We do not know if this is a real scam site and I think that we should give the creators a chance to explain here, hopefully.
Often the scammers simply copy each other and we catch them as plagiarists. Its like this Scam1>Scam2>Scam3 - maybe all of them are run by the same group and so their whitepapers, websites might be copied but still they are all scams.

So I dont think anybody is going to come here and explain it. Grin
3896  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fake Gunbot PM spam on: December 13, 2020, 07:29:00 AM
Reported the PM first thing yesterday when I got it. Newbies are allowed to PM so we cant do anything about them but ignore them and report.

Of course we are older members of this forum so we are aware of it being a trap and know the original project of Gunbot well. Therefore the ones getting scammed are the newbies and the PM is enticing enough to get their attention enough for them reply, sadly these scams will happen unless the person becoming the victim uses their logic in the first place.
3897  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM ] Xeniumx copied Origin Protocol whitepaper! on: December 12, 2020, 12:28:38 PM
Keep up more "testing" like this and you will end up in the hall of shame of bitcointalk before you can say "Bitcoin".

Lorenzo's profile page is also not working. Didnt bother to check the rest though.

The plagiarized whitepaper is a big red flag for investors. Also these linkedIN profiles are shady too. I would rather ask investors to cross verify on different platforms if these people are actually related to the project and their pictures are being used within legal boundaries. We have seen how desperate scam projects become regarding this.
3898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cambodia enacts new laws related to gambling. on: December 11, 2020, 06:38:55 AM
I think this is a good initiative as long as the enforcement for "fairness" system is involved, it is definitely a good thing for the players. Not sure about the details of how gambling happens there but if there are shady casinos having rigged fairness system functioning there, it is essentially a fraud. Again such a casino would be caught pretty soon so this could be a warning message to any other operator attempting to set up a rigged casino as well.

All in all, it is a good and positive approach from their government. A bump in the gambling related tax should be the payoff for the gambling hoping to see all fair casinos and have peace of mind for the same.
3899  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Margin trading. Where to start? on: December 11, 2020, 06:32:02 AM
What's the best platform for margin trading for a newbie? I'd like to check HitBTC or Bitmex first. Any suggestions are highly appreciated.
Bitmex is good enough, once it was the pioneer name along with Deribit. Now though things have started to crackdown a bit from the authorities and many other exchanges also saw this as a new market and therefore launched their own margin trading options on their existing exchanges - like Binance.

Now for a newbie though, I hope you are not a newbie in margin trading itself, because if it is so then it would be better to learn about it first then get busted trying to go 50x like a real noob.

Margin trading is not for everyone though. Make sure you know the things before you step in. No reason to jump into something totally new just because the market was too stagnant at that time for Spot trading - this was how margin trading in crypto came into existance at one time and its craze started in the mid-2018 when bitcoin stuck gradually at 6k USD.
3900  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty and airdrops at the end of 2020 on: December 11, 2020, 06:27:38 AM
Many of these will pay you in tokens which aren't worth anything but will eventually be listed on some exchanges and you can get some value out of them.
I appreciate your optimistic approach but statistically speaking it wont work in this "altcoin" sector. It works in the stock market but not here, mate.

Here you will join a bounty hoping it becomes something worth the time that you put in, heck even good effort in making some content for them - one fine day you see that the team is enforcing KYC for each and every bounty hunter because someone in the pack was caught using hundreds of alt accounts to spam the bounties and defraud them. From the team's perspective it is a valid thing to do. But you might not think it would be safe for you - then what will you do? Nothing legally you can, hence you will just go quiet and let it slide.

This cycle of despair and frustration is there in every bounty hunter who actually works to promote the project, not the spammers.

Hence if you dont wish to see your efforts wasted, go for bitcoin paying campaigns always and buy bitcoin when it goes down.
