3881  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC sent and confirmed but not received on: September 08, 2020, 06:14:54 PM
Oh ok, thanks for correcting that out for me.  But it I believe it needs for the parent transaction to be confirmed before being confirmed itself, or do they both confirmed at the same time?
Both are possible.

As long as the first transaction is unconfirmed, the second transaction cannot be confirmed. So the second transaction must be confirmed in a same block or next blocks.
If the fee rate paid for the second transaction is much bigger than the fee rate paid for the first one, it would be very likely that both transactions are confirmed in a same block.

If the fee paid for the second transaction is that big, miners pick the first transaction, so they can be able to pick the the second one (in the same block) too. This is called CPFP (Child Pay For Parent).
3882  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC sent and confirmed but not received on: September 07, 2020, 10:12:57 PM
Indeed it will be reflected on electrum but it is not available yet for spending if there is no confirmation.
Electrum allows you to spend unconfirmed outputs.
If you can't spend unconfirmed outputs in Electrum, click on "tools" and then "preferences". After that go to "transactions" tab and uncheck "spend only confirmed coins".

3883  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC sent and confirmed but not received on: September 07, 2020, 05:24:34 PM
If the address is correct then don't be panic and just wait some time. Btc will be received. Or you need to check the address again. If the address is not correct then btc will refund your wallet but need some days.
What are you saying?
We have no such thing as refund when you send bitcoin to a wrong address. Every time you send bitcoin to a wrong address, consider them lost.
Bitcoin is working decentralized and there is no one able to send back your coins.
3884  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin transaction pending for quite long on: September 07, 2020, 04:43:39 PM
It is absolutely overblown, especially for big exchanges like Binance. ...........
Yes, Binance spend only about 10% of the fee they get from their users.
Below are latest payments made by Binance.

Transaction 1 (Number of outputs: 90, Transaction fee: 0.00400246 BTC)
Transaction 2 (Number of outputs: 99, Transaction fee: 0.00565415 BTC)
Transaction 3 (Number of outputs: 101, Transaction fee: 0.00459935  BTC)

Binance charged 0.116 BTC for 290 withdrawals and paid only 0.01425596 BTC to miners. (The current withdrawal fee is 40,000 satoshi.)

They could quite easily wait until the mempool was empty to broadcast their consolidation transactions at 1 sat/vbyte.
They are not doing this.
Below are last two transactions sent to their address.

Transaction 1
Transaction 2

They have paid 106 satoshi per vbyte. It's ridiculous.
3885  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What happened in this transaction? on: September 05, 2020, 02:21:40 PM
How would he be able to spend an input that hasn't been confirmed? won't the transaction be invalid at that point?
You can always spend unconfirmed outputs. But they won't be confirmed unless the previous transaction is confirmed.
If you cannot spend unconfirmed outputs, that's only because your wallet doesn't allow you. You can do it using other wallets.

In the blockchain, you can find many series of transactions all confirmed in a single block specially when CPFP (Child Pay For Parent) method is used. (That's not the case here, of course.)
When you accelerate a transaction using CPFP method, both transactions are confirmed in a single block.
3886  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Question About Using Blockchain.com Website on: September 04, 2020, 10:55:36 PM
.....but I stop using Blockchain year had passed when they implement KCY verification.
As far as I know, KYC is not required for using blockchain wallet. Users have to pass KYC only for using their exchange. (Someone correct me if I am wrong.)

Anyway, due to not being open-source, their control over seeds and private keys, their weak support, their vulnerability to hack, etc. I agree with you on not using blockchain wallet.
3887  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help with wallet and address distribution needed on: September 04, 2020, 04:54:53 PM
I see that many exchanges allow free transfer internally, that might be because all the addresses arrive from one private key or some criteria like this. Can I implement something like this ? Is it easy to setup ? What do I need to do so?
This has nothing to do with lightening network.
Exchanges store all bitcoins in their own wallet and only display a number as balance for each of their users. Exchanges can allow user A to send user B some fund without making a real transaction.

Let's say users A and B each have 1 BTC on an exchange and user A wants to send user B 1 BTC. Since the fund of both users are stored in the exchange wallet, there is no need to send bitcoin on the blockchain. So, the exchange decreases balance of user A to zero and increases balance of user B to 2 BTC.

Keep in mind that, those who keep their bitcoins on an exchange are not the real owner of those bitcoins.
3888  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin transaction pending for quite long on: September 04, 2020, 02:00:18 PM
...My exchange automatically suggests me fees.
The fee you pay to an exchange differs from the fee paid to miners. When you withdraw from your personal wallet, you have full control over your coins and can select the fee. In this case, you pay fee only to miners. But When you withdraw the fund from an exchange, they send the fund from their own wallet. That's why you cannot select the fee when sending from an exchange.
3889  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin transaction pending for quite long on: September 04, 2020, 09:11:05 AM
Will it go through or get cancelled? How much time it will take?
The transaction will drop from mempool only if it isn't confirmed in 14 days. But that won't happen. As already stated by OmegaStarScream, your transaction will be likely confirmed in the net 24 hours. The network becomes less congested in weekends.

Can I speed it up now?
Since your transaction has not been marked as RBF (replaceable by fee), you cannot increase the fee. One way is to use the method suggested by OmegaStarScream and the other way is to use CPFP (Child Pay For Parent) method.

You can use CPFP method, only if you have control over one of outputs of the unconfirmed transaction.
In this method, you need to spend one of outputs using a high fee, so miners include both transaction in a single block.

Note that, CPFP method is a bit expensive and you should use it only if you are in hurry. If you are not in hurry, the only thing you need to do is wait.

I am 100% convinced that website itself losses money for the lottery. .........
For getting 1 lottery ticket, you need to wager 500 satoshi. Given the 5% house edge, the website earns 25 satoshi for every 500 satoshi is wagered. Assuming each lottery ticket costs 1 satoshi, 4% of the profit website makes is spent for free lottery tickets given to users.
Also, note that only 25% of value of total tickets is awarded to winners and 75% of that goes to house. So, the money spent for free lottery tickets given to users is only 1% of their profit. (Considering lottery tickets that are purchased by users, this percentage can be smaller.)

Note: I am not saying the lottery is not fair. Freebitco is working provably fair and all users are playing at their own risk. A big part of freebitco's profit is spent for Lamborghini lottery, rewards points, daily jackpot, monthly contest, referrals commissions, etc.
3891  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Question About Using Blockchain.com Website on: September 03, 2020, 10:56:09 AM
I didn't know a lot of users are having issue with blockchain. It seems like a good service for me in the first place.
As already stated in previous posts there have been many reports in the forum regarding issues with blockchain wallet.

It's true that most of the people are using blockchain wallet with no problem. But this doesn't mean that blockchain wallet is safe.
In blockchain wallet, you are not the only owner of your seed and your private keys and they have access to your private keys. Your fund would be safe only if you are the only owner of your private keys. Even if they claim that they have no access to your keys, since their wallet is not open-source, we cannot believe that.
3892  Other / Meta / Re: I know exactly when I will rank up! on: September 02, 2020, 04:31:47 PM
Confession: Not long ago, I deleted many posts and the activity lowered by the same number.
This can happen only if your activity is equal to post count.

.....Now I have no clue why that time it lowered, I do not remember if that was lowered by 14 though but I feel it was not.
Your activity decreased, because you deleted all posts made in one (or more) two-week activity period.

Activity = min (14*n, posts)
in which n = number of two-week periods in which you make at least one post.

So, as long as your post count is bigger than 14*n, your activity can change only by 14, 28, 42, ....

If you enter a new two-week period and make a post, your activity increases by 14.
If you delete all posts made in a two-week period, your activity decreases by 14.

I think there is a thread about observing who is hitting Legendary on which activity point. You can get the actual result from that thread, can't find the thread now.
You are probably talking about the topic created by TheBeardedBaby.

3894  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: August 31, 2020, 12:15:07 AM
Just leave the exchange and use others exchange site that make client problem their top priority because if they cant help client with coins sent to wrong address they should atleast leave the coins in the wallet so that the client can get his coin in future when the coins mistakely send is list on their platform which prove they are doing all this in purpose.
Coinbase hasn't moved tokens sent to the wrong address. As already stated by wwzsocki, those GOLD tokens are now in his Ethereum deposit address.

3896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Electrum update: A trader lost 1400 BTC on: August 30, 2020, 02:26:58 PM
What happened is probably due to the vulnerability already reported in Electrum versions older than 3.3.4.
In versions older than 3.3.4, servers were able to show any message when broadcasting a transaction. The server could easily trick users by asking them to install an update (actually a malware).

Below is what stated on Electrum official website.

More details about the issue can be found in the link below.
when broadcasting transaction, error message from server is displayed as is

3897  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BPIP] Bitcointalk Public Information Project [Back in Action] on: August 30, 2020, 01:57:48 PM
...Is it possible to have a compressed file of the trust of each user updated like each 24 hours, or is that too much to ask for?
I don't think you need to scrape BPIP.
You can use the following file provided by theymos to extract all trusts and distrusts. It is updated once per week.
trust.txt.xz

You can also use the tool created by LoyceV to see trust scores of all users in a single page.

How much money did you lost in multiply BTC ?
I am asking this because 323 satoshi is not a big balance for which you are concerned.
When it comes to free roll bonus, 323 satoshi is not a small amount.
Currently, the base reward in free roll is 17 satoshi. Since anyone can get bonus up to 19 times the base reward, the 323 satoshi bonus Tarzil is getting is the maximum free roll bonus.

I lost a bunch of money in multiply BTC and got now +323 sasothi bonus on free claim.
Is that a lifetime bonus?
No,
The free roll bonus increases (up to 19 times the base reward) if you wager and decreases if you play the free roll. So, that bonus isn't lifetime. More you play the free roll, more you lose the bonus.

..... Admins (theymos, Cyrus) can handle reports and I guess staffs can do too.
You are right about admins, but staffs (moderators, excluding global moderators) can only handle reports made on the boards (or sub-boards) assigned to them.
