3883  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Group Buying of Sophisticated Investments? (Moved from Group Buys) on: September 04, 2013, 08:37:45 PM
MarkM, what where you on when you wrote up this post? Grin

So you're saying:

-) startups have a lot of potential
-) startups need investors
-) usually this investments are too much for a private individual to bear
-) but pooling together in group buys could work

Yes no maybe?
3884  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] SatoshiBox.com - platform for selling files for bitcoins on: September 04, 2013, 08:27:23 PM
I really like the idea. I see some potential issues with trust and piracy, but I definitely like where this idea is going and the simplicity of it.

+1 on stats, rating, top list, private / public, user accounts to make it possible to establish a trust rating

I think I'm going to make bracelets.

W.W.K.D? What would Ken do?

Who wants one?

sounds like a business, you should make an IPO!
3887  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KNC reduces prices by ~20-30% for Saturn and Jupiter on: September 03, 2013, 03:44:36 PM
fair move. they have to sell miners for cheaper at some point and with the one month gap late october orders don't get immediately screwed.

(also, if you think that the 20-30% off for November orders is a better deal than full price for October nothing's stopping you from cancelling your old order and placing a new one Wink )

this takes out middlemen who wanted to buy up a bunch of hw to resell it via ebay.
Good. They are no better than concert ticket scalpers.

+1

i fucking hate concert ticket scalpers.
3888  Local / Biete / Re: [KAUFE] Burnin Order für 20er Bitburner (ohne chips) on: September 03, 2013, 03:20:02 PM
hey,

erstattet nicht Burnin selber auch 70%?

yep, sollte so sein, 50% sofort, vorausichtlich 20% mit 1-2 Monaten Verzögerung.

3890  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: September 02, 2013, 10:48:44 AM
To everyone complaining about the cancelled 70% Bitfury tradein:

50% refund is all i can offer >NOW< without going instantly bankrupt.
I plan give back more, if i can.
Therefore any reuse or resale of the remaining components will be refunded. (You bought these with your money after all)
That means you do not need to buy bitfury boards from me in order to get those extra 20% back.
If you can wait until then it could be sent in one transaction.  (about 2-4 weeks to wrap everything up)

The 70% refund / trade-in still applies, only that you don't have to buy the Bitfury boards and still get more than 50%. Just not right now, because he will first need to make some money back by selling the Bitfury boards.
3891  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] IceDrill.ASIC IPO (500 Thash Mining Operation powered by HashFast) on: September 02, 2013, 05:59:00 AM
I disagree.  Icedrill should not develop their own chips.  Icedrill should focus only on one thing and that is mining equipment deployment, and they should try to be the best at this than their competitors.  They should try to negotiate deals now including having talks with cointerra.  Should Icedrill divert their energy to chip creation then they will be on a path to failure.  Why?  There are other companies better positioned with specialized expertise to create chips.  Icedrill should focus on efficiency and optimization of massive scale deployment of bitcoin mining hardware.

There are other chip creation companies that will compete with each other causing the price of chips to fall.

+1

no need to lose focus and set out for an already glutted market with a high cost point of entry.

I vote for:
"b) compensation in BTC: deliver chips, compensate XX% of the initial price"
I have chips with batch #3. Please push Bitsyncom with refund, they need to do it.

Definitely interested in transforming my Avalon order to a Bitfury order, especially if you'll sell them with the chips included. Looking forward to the next update!

I should have these signs printed around our office so people can be careful when they visit us.

ABANDON SHIP!!!!
3896  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [CLOSED] Avalon ASIC chip distribution on: August 30, 2013, 10:46:20 AM
Those demanding their chips plus some compensation for the delay should follow the proposed approach: get a refund now and order chips later when they are in stock and cheaper.

@Zefir: I assume ordering chips later again, once they are in stock and cheaper, would involve yet another group buy? Also if that's the case would you be going through all the group buy hassle again or are you done with it?
3897  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 29, 2013, 11:34:16 AM

Maybe you need to see doctor.

Maybe he should start mining with his old nokia 3210.
3898  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KNCminer 48 hour controller board slogan challenge on: August 29, 2013, 05:55:03 AM
"To hash and protect"

"Miner? I don't even know her!"

"...teach a man to mine and you feed him for a lifetime."

"in hoc ASIC vinces"

"Bitcoin ex machina"

"solving programmer riddles since 2013"

"property of Satoshi Nakamoto"

"Keep on hashin' "
3899  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [CLOSED] Avalon ASIC chip distribution on: August 28, 2013, 10:45:40 PM
Most prefered option C. as in partial refund on the chips to make up for the lost ROI without further dealings with Avalon.

Then option B.

Then option E.
