When was he going to do the giveaway?  I'm confused.  Uh 552 is my guess if this is still a thing.

Ok guys, here is a hopefully fixed Linux build for x64.   User mkz pointed out in a PM that I included the old build in my new package, sorry, I was rushing this morning to get something to fix this for you and I messed it up.

This one should work, I tested it on a fresh Ubuntu 13.10 install and it ran and synced the blockchain fine.

If it works for you i will upload it and fix the links on the website and also build the 32 bit version, so please let me know

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/139675/CryptogenicBullion_1.1.6.6-linux64.tar.gz

Thanks that works (debian "Jessie", 64 bit)!

Also, I just downloaded the new client but I'm getting an error about a missing library:

libdb_cxx-5.1.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

If this is a dependency (for gnu-linux), what's the relevant debian package to install?

Ok, I fixed the above with

Code:
sudo apt-get install libdb5.1++

But now I get this:

Code:
$ ./CryptogenicBullion-qt ./CryptogenicBullion-qt: error while loading shared libraries: libboost_system.so.1.46.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

This is awkward,

Code:
$ sudo apt-get install libboost-system-dev
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
libboost-system-dev is already the newest version.

Seems like my system has libbost_system ver 1.54.  Do I really need to *downgrade* libboost in order to run this binary?

Are you on 64bit?   If so please try this https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/139675/CryptogenicBullion-Qt_1.1.6.6-Linux-x64.tar.gz

I rebuilt it with the libraries statically linked, which should solve your issues.  Please let me know and I will change the links on the webpage.

I've tried it with the new archive but I still get the same error message as tspacepilot.

Are you sure you posted the right link after rebuilding?  I tried the binary you link to above and still get the error about the missing libboost:

Code:
$ ./CryptogenicBullion-qt
./CryptogenicBullion-qt: error while loading shared libraries: libboost_system.so.1.46.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Yes I'm sure thats the right link and the file has the creation time when I rebuilt it this morning.  Not sure why it's not working then.

What Linux version are you guys using?   I guess I can build packages for the different systems, I've been building on the 12.04 LTS.
Though I'd like to stay away from making binary releases for a bunch of different distros.

You can always build it from source.  I posted instructions here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=245086.msg5809245#msg5809245

Sorry for the issues with this.  I'll spend some time today and get it all sorted out.

Using debian 'testing' (Jessie).  Same here, no rush, I may build it myself if I get desperate. Presumably there's some way to make your program look for libboost >= 1.46, right?  Let me know if you have another build to try later.

3908  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: March 24, 2014, 04:48:26 AM
The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Activity is updated every 30 minutes.

The new membergroup limits work like this:
GroupRequirement
Brand New0 posts
Newbie(none)
Jr. Memberactivity: 30
Memberactivity: 60
Full Memberactivity: 120
Sr. Memberactivity: 240
Hero Memberactivity: 480

I'm not 100% sure that the membergroups work correctly. Tell me if you see any bugs.

Is it updated every 30 mins or every 30 days?  Three weeks ago my activity went from 238 -> 252.  I'm still at 252 even though I have posted in the last three weeks and my overall post count is over 400.

Not griping, just trying to clarify.

The activity basically goes up on two different times each month (so every 14 days).   If you make enough posts during each 14 day period, than your activity will go up by 14 points.   The max amount of times that your activity can go up in a month is 2

Thanks for the summary of the system.  I think my question still stands.  Anyone with a relevant answer?

Will this help the community?

Micon how do respond to some of the rumors floating around that your site is rigged to produce dramatic play scenarios to increase rake potential?

I think this means someone has an ax to grind.  Cute pic.  Maybe the guy has an axe to grinde against micone, dunno.
3914  Economy / Gambling / Re: seals with clubs desktop client (debian support, software license) on: March 17, 2014, 08:42:49 PM
BUMPity BUMP

i could use this debian support too

In the end, I ended up finally upgrading debian to jessie.  Note: not just to make seals work, but because I was ready to upgrade.  Now I can run the swc client on my debian box.  For some reason, it crashes if i turn on sound.  But if I mute all sounds, it works just fine.

legit1, were you getting the error about glibc version?

For those that are so worried about trying to 'prove a negative' consider that it is quite common to do so.  One of the classic techniques is to remove the negation and the show that that assertion leads to absurdity.  Consider the famous proof that the cardinality of the set of prime numbers is not finite.  The statement to be proved contains a negation:

1) The cardinality of the set of prime numbers is *not* finite.

The technique for the famous proof removes the negation from (1) and shows that (2) leads to absurdity:

2) The cardinality of the set of prime numbers is finite.
3) Therefore, there is a largest prime number, call it _p_
4) Consider a new number, _q_, which is the product of all the primes (including _p_) + 1
5) _q_ is obviously larger than _p_ and by hypothesis must be composite (not prime)
6) The factorization of _q_ cannot include any known prime therefore either _q_ is prime or the factorization of _q_ includes a prime larger than _p_.  In either case, _p_ is not the largest prime number.
QED

Perhaps I made a mistake recreating the proof, but reductio ad absurdam is a standard logical technique which uses the negation of a statement to proof the assertion.  Because of the law of universal negatives, this is sound.  Note that P = not(not(P)) for propositional negation.

I'm so confused about the "krillrolls" announcement.  they say krill lev 3 -- N, but it looks like it's actually lev 2, right?  Or is that what's changing?

I am gonna cry a river if the krillrolls get moved up again.  It took me a half year to get to 500 krill for the first krillroll back in the day.  I got to play in it like 3 times before it got moved up to 1.25K krill.  Now I'm slowly making progress on krill again, nearing 800.   But jeezus, if you guys move the goalposts on me again, i will cry and cry and never play bitcoinpoker again and live a sad life for the rest of my days.

On the other hand, if you make me an official mascot, grandfather me into a krillroll because I have loved you guys for so long, and give me a special avatar for free, then I will spend the rest of my days praising Seal Team 6 and the fine bitcoin poker that can be played there.  I've already introduced like 4 new playrs to the site.  Wont you guys hire me or something?

Are you talking about this tweet?

♣ ♣ ♣ Upcoming Krillament Menu ♣ ♣ ♣

3-4: 1.25k+ Krillament
3-6: 5k+ Krillament
3-9: 25k+ Krillament
3-21: 50k+ Krillament

Those arent levels, they are dates.

dave23

aha, so if they are dates, this means that the 1.25KR happens on the 3rd and 4th?  And the 5K happens on the 3rd,4th,and 5th?  And the 25K on the 3rd,4th,5th,6th,7th,8th and 9th?  And the 50K on all days except the first three and the last week?  That seems weird.  I'm sure you are onto something.  I'm just a stupid person who needs your help.
