PS: Vielleicht jetzt nochmal konkret:

3904  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: March 22, 2014, 07:51:50 PM
So how was Berlin?

Pretty cool. Alena and slush held a very nice presentation.

I enjoyed both the talk and the Q&A session. Many of my questions were answered (mostly after the talk) and my understanding of the trezor deepened.

I even got to play with one during the event... more info

everything I tested worked.

I tried...

Quote
initializing the trezor (worked), wiping the trezor (worked), restoring the trezor from the backed-up seed (worked), receiving money (worked), sending money (worked), reloading wallet (after wiping local storage) from trezor (worked), firmware upgrade (worked).

There were some minor hickups with the webwallet (related to backend, according to slush fixed by now) and some not-so-minor problems (bus resets) with my USB stack on that microsoft hardware. Those were not trezor-related, though.

Summarizing I can say this is a extremely well thought-out device. Also very sexy!

Good things come to those who wait.
3905  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't panic on: March 21, 2014, 11:24:21 PM
The alts/usd on btc-e are looking really cheap this week.
Why panic when you can lower your average cost?

I tend to agree. However people saying "don't catch a falling knife" have a point.
3906  Economy / Economics / Re: My bank account's got robbed by European Commission. Over 700k is lost. on: March 21, 2014, 11:23:37 PM
They're really trying to push to Bitcoin as hard as they can ;-)

haha, yeah. If there's a 10% across-the-board bailin in Europe (I doubt it), hold on to your coins, it's going to be wild as never before.
3907  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR][MANDATORY UPDATE] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: March 21, 2014, 11:02:00 PM
Launching a new beta blockchain explorer for Auroracoin

http://chainz.cryptoid.info/aur/

Note that this is completely new tech, not based on ABE or other existing explorers.

cool!

is it... opensource?
3908  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't panic on: March 21, 2014, 10:51:39 PM
I'll panic sell at 6$ a coin.

lol, I'll panic buy your coins at that price

And I'll panic-buy yours when you cut your losses at $0.80
3909  Economy / Speculation / Re: All these people claiming 1 BTC = 1 million+ on: March 21, 2014, 10:36:07 PM
1 BTC = $1,000,000 means 100 satoshi = $1.00. All Bitcoin submultiples could be finally put to use.

Satoshis foresight really is amazing, isn't it?
3910  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin environment seems toxic right now... has it felt like this before? on: March 21, 2014, 10:04:11 PM
this removal of newbie section, removed the filter that was helping to reduce random comments of panic, scamming and offtopic ramblings
Makes me wish this forum was set up like Reddit with upvoting

/r/bitcoin isn't much different, though
3911  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR][MANDATORY UPDATE] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: March 18, 2014, 08:24:32 PM
it seems to me there should be a key system.

I'm not sure. In germany for example we have a national id card that is able to sign messages (smart card). Maybe they have something like it, too.

3912  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR][MANDATORY UPDATE] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: March 18, 2014, 08:22:31 PM
Hurry up! The price is rising!
It's high time to buy now!

good call
3913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nonstop Negativity on: March 17, 2014, 07:43:47 AM
IBTCM could do a lot for Bitcoin.

IBM? lol... maybe I lack imagination. But what are you suggesting?
3914  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nonstop Negativity on: March 17, 2014, 07:42:51 AM
It might take some time for the general public to forget about MtGox and other negative stories.
Im sure when more big companies start accepting BTC this attitude will change.

Some of my classmates (note I'm studying engineering and I'm in my second year, and I was allowed to choose my classmates this semester so they are not dumb by any means) said I made a huge mistake having invested so much money in bitcoin and tought I lost all my money because mtgox went bankrupt. I had to explain them that mtgox actually had little to do with bitcoin because most people who were serious about bitcoin avoided mtgox like the plague anyway.

Cool story. Then what happened ? Grin

This will have to be continued after we break the old ATH.
3915  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR][MANDATORY UPDATE] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: March 14, 2014, 11:31:36 AM

Hey guys!

Gamblex has added Auroracoins to our exchange and our gambling site. It will be fully implemented, that means we will also sell shares that distribute a part of the Auroracoin fee revenue to stakeholders.

Check out our thread and maybe Invest!

maybe you should use a bigger font, I just can't, for the love of my life, read this.

Can the developer specify which address holds the 50% premine? Or has it already been sold out or planning to be dumped?

The addresses are published on http://auroracoin.org/blueprint.php

Why did the "MTGOX HACKED!!!" thread dissapear? Did Blitz erase it?  Huh

it was illegally shared

might have something to do with it

Ok
Balduro ==> Please remove KGW.
I prefer a multipools comeback  Grin

http://www.geistgeld.org/   Roll Eyes

If there is a problem with KGW, then just adjust the diff after every block, problem solved? I never understood the need to "smoothen" the diff changes.

I think you miss the point of the attached forum post.

The poster is threatening to attack the Auroracoin blockchain once KGW is implemented.

Its really just a notice, yet the action is threatening to anyone holding a bag of icecoin.
I wouldn't be surprised tho, if this was all just an orchestrated effort to decimate Aur price so he can buy in... Wink lolz!

not alot of info out there on how to put air into cold storage...any tips would be appreciated.

Not that I think it will be really necessary, it seems the threat is not really that real. But simply backing up your wallet.dat to USB and stop using that wallet ager block 5400 will do the trick. You can setup another wallet to keep doing your things meanwhile, keeping your wealth in the address of your cold wallet...

guys you are on the wrong track about this attack. It's a time-warp attack that is supposed to screw up the difficulty calculation afaik.

Cold-storage wont help and isn't necessary.
