Went to local coffee shop, all was working fine there.  Yet back at home connecting to seals is still unusable.  This just started a few days ago.  I don't know what's going on.  Can any devs at seals help?

Are you using the browser version or the desktop version or the mobile version? And if so which OS are you running it on?

As mentioned just above, I use the android version and the desktop version for GNU/Linux.  FWIW I also gave a try with the flash version in the browser.  All is terrible from my house.

Further update: I'm pretty sure this has something to do with the way my ISP is routing traffic.  In the last few days I can't stream any audio/video without having the connection reset.  I am getting rid of this ISP (Clear) as soon as possible.

Quick reminder/update: CGB's website address is now http://www.gotcrypto.net/# and the new block explorer is at http://blocks.gotcrypto.net/chain/CryptogenicBullion. New client release is imminent and a fresh upgraded website is in the works.

What happened to the original website?

We are currently working to have it returned to the community. There is, however, a small chance that we may never get it back. For this reason we have decided to quickly cut all losses and move on with our new direction. If we do get the domain back, great! Of course we would be using it. For now though, we just needed to remove all uncertainty about the recent changes to the project and move forward.

I guess I missed something.  Who has control of the old domain currently?  What happened?

Last two days the seals client on desktop disconnects every 10-15 seconds, rendering play impossible.

On my android tab, only slightly better.  Extreme lag, lost 2 chips this morning to lag and not being able to see what was happening.  Helps?

Edit: I am using the new android client and the lastest desktop client for GNU/Linux.

I will now head to a coffee shop to verify that the problem isn't my home network (although other network services are fine so I don't suspect this.)

Hey there,  I've downloaded the new client (just now, today) and the blockchain has synced.  Yet I'm still getting the warning about
"checkpoint is too old ...".  Do I have to delete the entire blockchain and redownload it?  What am I missing?

I didn't make any changes in my ~/.CryptogenicBullion directory when I downloaded the new client.

The new client is not released yet.  If you downloaded the current link on the website it is still version 1.1.6.5

It is in testing and should be released soon, still waiting on all the feedback from testers, then will commit changes to github and release the new builds.

I see.  I guess it's that my previous version was older than 1.1.6.5 so that's why I thought I had the new one.  I guess everyone currently has the "too old" warning then?  Finally, am I supposed to clear out my blockchain files when I upgrade or is it okay to keep my ~/.CryptogenicBullion/ dir as was?

Yes, the last checkpoint in the 1.1.6.5 client is from December, almost 100,000 blocks ago.

The new client should not require you to re-download the blockchain or change anything in the CryptogenicBullion data dir.

Ok, so I'll just await the annoucement on the new client.  Thanks Smiley

This seems like a wonderful offer.  I'm at activity 238 so when I hit 240, I'll definitely be popping back in here.  Till soon!

Seems like you just qualified Smiley

Now up to 7 successful payments, ty OP.

Yes indeed.  Also, I can confirm I just received my first payment.

I like this offer as it's tied to activity, which grows slowly whether or not you generate a whole lotta posts in a given 2 week period.  Therefore there's not a big incentive to spam the forums.  Way to go bitmixer.io

Theymos,

Can you remove TradeFortress from default trust?

Just last week someone was asking me about why I have a negative trust rating.  I said it was from TradeFortress as to my knowledge he's the only one who had any beef with me (and I never even traded with him FWIW).

Anyway, after the whole input.io and coinlenders scandal, I'm sorta thinking he shouldn't be on the default trust list.

Anyhelp?
3931  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Did TradeFortress every pay back all the money after that inputs.io scandal on: February 24, 2014, 08:35:44 AM
No he didn't pay back.

Yes he may still be active in this community, so be careful.

Whoa, I'll be careful then!

So from this small and unscientific sample, there seems to be strong consensus that he just took the money and ran.  I guess that's probably the case because if he was interested in rebuilding his reputation (and had legitimately been hacked) then he would probably still be posting on here and slowly paying people back.

Anywhoo, luckily I only used inputs to withdrawl from coinchat and never kept the money in there so I was lucky on this one.

That's fine when a probability is quantifiable, as in your higgs boson example. What is the probability of the existence of god?

The probability only became quantifiable once a separate problem was solved; allowing scientists to draw up a new question using a better understanding of the old question.

until we can account for all of the variables surrounding the creation of our Universe and the events that took place upon the creation of our Universe the probability can never be anything more or less than 50/50.

For as long as there is a single "wild card" the probability will be un-quantifiable and will revert to basic odds that the existence of God will be either true or false.

Hypothetically, even if you have a probability of 99.99999% that God does not exist and yet you also have a single variable with an unknown magnitude then you still can't answer the question certainly as the entire equation is still off-balance.

The probability that I personally assign to God existing in some manner or another is much greater than pink Unicorns existing. Still, un-quantifiable...

Which is it, p = 0.5 or p = NA ?

There's a difference between ones personal inclination towards a subject expressed as a ratio or probability to illustrate an un-quantifiable thought and a real scientific probability which can be expressed and verified.

It's an oxymoron. I obviously wasn't making a claim to know the probability of either; I thought the context of the statement was clear. I chose the best way to compare the two unknown probabilities in a manner consistent with our previous conversation...

I was providing you with my personal opinion as to the outcome of the question in the form of a comparison.

I can't answer your question where p=probability because I don't know all of the conditions or variables. I can tell you that the raw probability of a yes or no statement is 50/50 as there's no third conclusion to the question.

There *are* ways to estimate the probability of an event whos actual probabililty is not known.  One common such method is maximum likelihood.  In this case, I've never seen any God observations, so p=0 even with MLE. Smiley

This thread is so much more serious now that dank has given up.  I was just coming here for the lolz and now you guys are all thinking your brains off about this.

Got a casino bitcoin message congrats on the takeover
CasinoBitco.in (Havelock Investments ticker symbol: CBTC) today announces the acquisition of popular Bitcoin Gaming properties Bit777.com, Peerbet.org, and Peerdice.org from Ultraplay, Ltd. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Wow, yes, it *is* a bit shocking that the new owners haven't guaranteed the money owed to current employees even if they discontinue the campaign next month.

Personally, i'm double in trouble because last month i only had 49 posts and bit777 told me he would pay me on the 24 of this month for jan and feb.  therefore if they don't pay us, i'm getting screwed out of two months of payments.

Presumably, however, the new owners are honorable people and will come good on their debts.  I know I wouldn't want to flush my reputation down the toilet just 1 week after owning a new business.
3934  Economy / Service Discussion / Did TradeFortress every pay back all the money after that inputs.io scandal on: February 19, 2014, 01:35:15 AM
As the topic suggests, I was just thinking about all that hoopla surrounding the TradeFortress empire that went down at the end of last year.  There were many thread of accusations and tabulations about what was owed and to whom.  Now that the topic is not so hot, I'm just wondering how everything ended up shaking out.  Did he ever pay back his customers?  Is he still active in the community?

If you are perceiving, or imagining, the universe not existing, how can you perceive it at all?  If you are perceiving it, then something clearly exists in that picture.
Damn, dank stumbled across the primary Cartesian observation.  He's right for once.  Dank imagines therefore he exists!
Quote
Do you see how that statement is illogical?  The universe exists for the universe is everything.  To say everything is nothing or the universe doesn't exist is a complete fallacy.
OK, now he's back to nonesense...I enjoyed the moment of clarity while it lasted.

Damn, I'm disappointed.  I received 2 satoshis and I was hoping to give them one day to my grandchildren.  Now you guys tell me they will never confirm... Sadness.
