Can i use two or more services at the same time?

Depends on the serivce, most do not allow others. Some allow a different avatar campaign.

Will i be banned?

If you spam, yes.
3922  Other / MultiBit / Re: How to import private key of your wallet via MULTIBIT? on: December 22, 2015, 01:50:44 PM
I am not using tha HD version , the normal one 0.5.19 in Linux. I guess and I have seen reviews of it you can just import the private key from the MENU there and when you reinstall it in a new PC you can export it to get your wallet back. I am really confused right now.

EDIT: No problem, I can see I can still download earlier version of 0.5.19 in the Multibit website and security is great in Linux already, not such an urgent need to upgrade to HD.

You can import keys into multibit classic, yes. Sorry, but when you wrote "latest" I assumed MBHD.

You need to put them into a text file and open that file with multibit. Its under Tools -> Import private keys.

If you just want to use an old multibit wallet you can just open the .wallet file with File -> Open Wallet.
3923  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How far does that green line go? on: December 22, 2015, 01:47:40 PM
Well I would guess that I've been online for around 12 hours spread over getting on for 3 days.

I might start saving the traffic analysis graphs for comparison. I find it interesting, would anyone else be interested? Apart from MacD, I'm using 2 supermarkets, 2 hotels, a shopping mall admin hub ( the fastest), and a few others when I find them. Speed varies throughout the day and night.

I don't think computer speed or power is relevant (as long as it's half way decent). The reliability and speed of the WiFi seems to be the deciding factor.

Yes please share the pictures if you can.

a thread that is so long , it will take 24 hours to finish it , the question I have here is can or can not I take my account back .

If you cant proof that you owned it, no. You proof that you owned it by providing a signed message. If you have any problems understanding the guide, let me know.
3925  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What does a node do? on: December 22, 2015, 01:44:01 PM
This seems to be a vulnerability. If the Fed wanted to undermine the stability of the blockchain, then it seems there are techniques that they could use. Even if it just increases the difficulty in registering new blocks, it could discourage miners, and thus weaken the community.

If you would buy mining hardware to find blocks they would increase bitcoins strength. Bitcoins security comes from the fact that its hard to find a block. If its easy to find a block its also easy to find a replacement for a block. If you can find a replacement for a block you have a chance to rewrite bitcoin history. That is commonly called a 51% attack, even though >50% would be more accurate.

SPV mining can reduce the chances of getting the block orphaned.

While its true, the main problem is bad pool software AFAIK. SPV mining is meant for the time while the pool software verifies the last block and builds a new block with possible transactions to include. This takes time and during that time miners have no work to do. Since miners that have nothing to do are a waste of money, they mine on an unverified and empty block. The main issue for orphans is the time it takes for a block you found to reach other miners. If two pools find a block at the same time, the block that reaches 50% of the networks hashrate first will win the race.

As said everywhere here, he ain't a scammer at all...
He's having some real life problems which he is currently dealing with, and come on guys, we all have a real life, and Bitcoins are a part of it...
Let's not make it this complicated for him, he will come for sure as he promised me he will be back soon on the forum, so I am vouching for him...
I can even put my own reputation on stake for that guy, I mean that if he scams for such an amount, I would urge everyone whoever has given him red mark, can give me red marks too for vouching for him (ONLY IF HE SCAMS, AND I KNOW IT WON'T HAPPEN EVER)...

Well, you could repay the loan.

I never wanted to dishonor you or anyone in any means, and if I hurt you, then I am extremely sorry... Sad

Dont worry, Im not hurt. I just dont see a point. Im sure MZ understands why we left the ratings and that its nothing personal. When hes back we can talk about things.
3928  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Testnet bitcoin value? on: December 22, 2015, 01:24:19 PM
No they don't have value and if you find someone who sells them; then he's a scammer.
Also testnet's height is almost double of the current bc. http://tbtc.blockr.io

I am not claiming anything. I did a search on the forum and found trading threads of testnet bitcoins.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5914.0

4.5 years ago created...

1.5 years ago created, because they needed a high amount of coins.

Usually there are no seller of testnet bitcoins, it is mostly people that want to buy big quantities at once that create those threads.

Sometimes, they get testnet bitcoins for free : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1010120.0

But I guess it depend of the quantity the need.

There is a faucet that spits out 25 tBTC for the first claim. I still have 25 tBTC for show on my phone. If anyone needs a high amount, they can just ask in the appropriate section and Im pretty sure they will easily get 100+ tBTC without paying a single satoshi.
3929  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What does a node do? on: December 22, 2015, 01:20:35 PM
So do the SPV miners still get the transaction money even though they haven't verified? What happens when it becomes too difficult to find new blocks, will it be impossible to transfer Bitcoins?
As long as the previous block follows the network rules and it doesn't get orphaned. SPV mining deducts the time used for verifying. They assume that the longest chain is valid.*

*Mining pool runs a full node but due to how SPV works, they will continue to mine on invalid chain.

Does it verification use a lot of CPU power? I used to mine llitcoin with a very low end CPU and did not see any problem?

No verification is usually not much work for the CPU. Again verification is not mining.
3930  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Import private key on: December 22, 2015, 01:19:03 PM
Hey

I need help with importing my private key into any wallet. I need to sign a message with that address.

I don't have Bitcoin-qt installed and don't want to do that because it takes too much space. I don't own a wallet.dat or any file like that. All I have is a private key in text format.

Is there any online Web wallet or anything like that will let me import the wallet and sign a message?

Thanks

I assume with "text format" you mean WIF[1]. If so you can import it to blockchain.info. They allow to import priv. keys and let you sign message. If you prefer something local, use electrum 2.

I got a Merry Christmas message from him on my number, and he also let me know that I might have noticed that he was unable to come to forum during past 1.5 months, and he won't be online for few more days here as he is out of internet currently...

Glad someone heard form him, I was a bit worried.

He went through some severe problems and might also be suffering from the same yet, as I don't know his current conditions how he is...
The guy didn't even ask me to vouch for him and let everyone know about his situation, but I can't see people talking bullshit about a good person...

I would just like to say that we ain't brothers, I mean we don't have any blood relations, but he is more than a brother to me, not just because he was always there when I needed someone to get me out of my problems, but because he has a very big heart and is of very kind nature...

I urge feryjhie, siameze, guitarplinker and shorena to please wait and let him come and explain his condition and then decide whether he scammed or not, I would still vouch for him, not just for today, but till the last breath of my life...

He's been the best to me among all the members here on the forum...

The rating is there as a warning that MZ is currently not here to take care of his responsibilities. I dont think my rating can be seen as "talking bullshit" about him.
3933  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Solo Mining with own Full Node - Some Questions on: December 22, 2015, 01:06:04 PM
If you are going to run a full node, ch3eck if you have any constraints on your total bandwidth consumption for a month from your ISP. Just the churn of the blockchain will push you past 120 GBytes/month, and climbing each month.

If I do not mine, but just leave the core client on, will I have the same bandwidth/data consumption?

Yes, bitcoin core even if its not used for mining will relay transactions and blocks (unless you run a pruned version) which is the main reason for the traffic.
3934  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: December 22, 2015, 11:35:14 AM
greetings,
have short viewed the topic but found nothing about my actual question.
i want to know if is possible to use external asic instead of cpu for vanitygen.
surely anyone here can help me out, thanks.

No. ASICs only do sha256d. Address creation requires ripemd-160(sha256(pubkey)) for the main part and sha256d for the checksum bytes.
3935  Other / Meta / Re: Improvement in removing scammers on: December 22, 2015, 11:32:23 AM
How can we improve such steps to remove scammers from this site?
Should we add couple of registration steps or should admin of this page put escrow on each transaction?

I think with the new forum coming things will be much better for us. Right now people don't even need to verify their email before registering... They can just register as many accounts as they want.

There is really no viable way to stop mass registers. The fact that you don't need to verify the email doesn't really mean anything since you still need to use an email, you can't be using a random one, right?

Sure you can, in fact people have lost accounts because they used a mail address they did not control. If you however own a domain you can easily create as many fake mail addresses you want, since they are all under your control. You can also just use username@bitcointalk.org.
3936  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What does a node do? on: December 22, 2015, 11:00:54 AM
So a full node verifies all transactions and blocks, and a miner is rewarded for the additional task of building a new block.

Yes, with slight corrections in italic.

The transaction fee is related to a transaction, so why doesn't the first node to verify it get the fee?

Because the fee is by design for the miner. The verification does nothing "for" the transaction other than allowing it to be forwarded to other nodes.

Is it because they can't register their verification without building a new block?

A verification is not the same as a confirmation. A verification is just "yep, thats fine accoring to the network rules, I will tell my peers about it". A confirmation is "this transaction is now very unlikely to be ever reversed". Verifications are easy, confirmations are hard and expensive, because they require finding a block. They require "proof of work".

Would it not be fairer to reward the first node for verifying the transaction, and reward the miner for building the block?

Maybe it would be a good idea to reward full nodes, but keep in mind that finding a block is the important part. Its currently rewarded by 25 BTC on top of the fees, but this reward halfes every 4 years. So over time, the fees have to be the reward to find blocks at all. If there is no reward, less people would try and it would become easier. This would make bitcoin easier to attack.

Of course the miner would get any transaction fees if he was the first to verify them in his block, and there must be a high probability that miners will be the first on many transaction. This approach would reduce the rewards for SPV miners.

SPV Miners still get the 25 BTC block finding reward, even if they dont verify anything. Well the reward is taken back if it turns out that they build on top of an invalid block, but thats the risk they are willing to take.
3937  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What does a node do? on: December 22, 2015, 10:39:11 AM
I've just read Satoshi's original paper, and I'm still not clear of the difference between a full node and a miner who is just verifying transactions.

A full node must not mine, but a miner must have a full node (or a pool that has one) to determine the current valid state of the blockchain. Miners verify the latest block and try to build a new block which should include unconfirmed and verified transactions. If a miner does not verify the data they can run into grave problems. If the miner does not verify an invalid transaction and they find a block with it, the block will be rejected by other miners when they try to verify it. Thus the block will be an orphan, discarded by the network and the miner will have wasted energy.

Some miners actually dont verify a block they get, assume its correct and continue to mine on top of it. This is dangerous for the network in general as it can lead to a split of the blockchain. The term that was coined for that is "SPV Mining" and you can read more about that here -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1274066.0
3938  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What does a node do? on: December 22, 2015, 10:00:39 AM
I use the Core Client, is it a full node?

Yes.

From the above comment, I do not have to open port 8333 to be full node?

No. It will allow outbound connections if you do, which will let you hold more than 8 connections in total.

Does the full node require static IP?

No. You might need a static local IP if you forward the port 8333 via your router, but that depends on the router you use. Your external IP can change as it does with most home connections.

what is MULTIBIT HD(Hard drive you mean) so If i lose my PC or my HDD dies, no chances, is that what u are saying Huh

HD as in hierarchical deterministic. Its what the latest version is called.

Which version are you using exactly?

The website suggests you send yourself your coins to the new address if you can. Just in case

Im confused. How would that help import a private key into the wallet?

I got the address from electrum.. The whole thing is strange to me never seen anything like this happen. Scanned my computer for viruses and there was nothing.

How do you store your seed? Do family members have access to your wallet?
