3921  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are my GPUs overkill on: August 25, 2021, 04:47:50 PM
I'm new to mining I need help with setting up GPUs with 750 watt power supply, I have two rx5700 and two gtx1660 6gb can I power these cards safely with the power supply?
Connect 2 rx5700 and motherboard with hard drive to your 750 watt PSU.
Yes, for other video cards 2x1660, buy another power supply unit with two 8-pin connectors. Better to buy a good BRONZE or SILVER PSU 500-600 W for $ 50-70 .
And an adapter for 2 power supplies

3922  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for good speculative coins to mine on: August 25, 2021, 04:40:40 PM
I have recently come across a fair bit of free power with the house I'm currently living in so thought it was the opportune time to mine some speculative coins.

Right now I'm mining ETH / RVN / XDN but would like to mine some potentially new GPU minable coins that Haven't seen much attention yet.

Looking forward to seeing the replies,
Talk soon
Now is the best time to mine the top coins that give the maximum profit. If a situation occurs that was in 2019, when mining was not profitable, then look for promising coins for mining.
But lately, such ideas have not been profitable. You need to keep an eye on many projects and their shitcoins that are traded on exchanges with low liquidity.
3923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can not mining ETH with nvidia GT 750M on: August 25, 2021, 04:35:13 PM
OP if your aim is to practice crypto mining find rx550 or rx560 GPUs, they are very cheap and affordable, also way more powerful than your GT 750M, don't be deceived by what others are telling you cos GT 750 is outdated, no mining software supports such GPU family anymore

Rx550 or rx560 video cards are useless shit in mining Smiley

These video cards are not even worth buying for mining.

3925  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Rx5700xt scare ? on: August 23, 2021, 05:42:06 PM
What happened to RX5700xt? I'm trying to buy them online from China and I can't find new ones, it's always out of stock, have AMD stopped building this graphic cards already or I'm just not looking enough?
To replace the RX5700xt, AMD has released a new 6XXX series. You won't buy the new RX5700xt video cards in stores because they have been out of production for about a year.
If you buy them, then you need to understand that you are buying used video cards.
But RX5700xt is still one of the best for mining Ethereum.

> 2x GTX1660 Super 62MH @ 880$

Where are you seeing these prices? Smiley
Icolor gtx1660 supers are available on Alibaba and AliExpress for 429$ to 440$ as we speak I think that's where OP gets the value of the cards too, I will just wait it out to see how mining performs by January 2022
If I buy a video card for $ 440 in China, then I will pay another 37 dollars in tax. and 1 more month of waiting
In my opinion, it is better to buy these video cards in my country for $ 500.
3927  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Silent Running on: August 22, 2021, 11:27:17 AM
Everything was done very carefully. I will not flash photos of my video cards, because everything is crooked and the fans are attached to the cable ties.
This does not affect the quality of cooling, but they work louder. but in my case it doesn't matter.
I don't understand why you did vertical installation of video cards. Thermal pads on these video cards do not emit liquid.

3929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Old GPUs have chance with Ergo? on: August 21, 2021, 04:14:38 PM
If you look at the size of the DAG file, then this coin can be mined until February 2023.
I didn’t calculate what would be the most efficient mining: Ergo or Efmrium classic.
Although I am nover wrong with Efmrium Classic, because its DAG file has recently exceeded 3 GB.
The hd7970 consumed about 200 watts, which is a bad figure today.
3930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is it reasonable to start a new GPU mining farm right when eth 2.0 is so close? on: August 21, 2021, 04:05:03 PM
Why risk ?
Its clear that you are late to the party.
Its clear also that when ETH will go POS most of the miners will stop.
And plenty of cards will be sold as second hands.

Is much easier and safer  to purchase 16 eth and run a node.

I've been trying to figure this out but I couldn't find the perfect answer, how can one make some money running node? What and what will someone have to get to set up a node? How is this better than mining
Node or masternode, in general, operates like a miner but instead of using hash power to find a block, node using an amount of coin it holds as the power to validate a block. Think both PoW and PoS are nearly the same but one using GPU's hash speed while the other using its own currency (ETH in this case) to stake. Spec to running a masternode usually don't require much.
I think for real, this time, ETH 2.0 is very close. To start a new GPU farm, mining ETH right now would be very risky.
That is if PoW algorithm is a goner for real, I don't believe that PoW algorithm is going away any time soon, they are just causing panic unnecessarily it's been since 2016 that ETH PoS is coming 😅😅
The PoW algorithm will not disappear, but there are currently no coins that can provide a good profit for the more than 10 million GPUs that mine Ethereum.
I do not know of a coin that can replace Ethereum.
Therefore, either the sale of video cards after mining will begin soon, or the price of other coins will increase greatly, which will stop the sale.

3931  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sapphire GPU are poorly built? Or just not rugged on: August 21, 2021, 04:00:01 PM
MSI Gaming has always been the best video card and cost $ 20-30 more. They overclocked well and were more popular with miners than Sapphire. But I have never seen a Sapphire with poor cooling, and this is a huge plus for this graphics card manufacturer. I would not be afraid to buy Sapphire with any cooling.
3932  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1GH in bear market on: August 20, 2021, 07:00:18 PM

Lol 😂 people are hoping for a bear market to get GPUs at cheaper price, imagine buying 3060ti for 500$ but they might actually be disappointed on the long run if bull stays around for months, they will end up blaming themselves and wished they buy GPUs at high price lol
I'll tell you a simple example.
Ethereum costs $ 2,000 and a graphics card costs $ 500.
The miner does not buy a video card.
Ethereum prices rise to $ 3,500, and the cost of a video card also goes up to $ 750.
Think at what point is it better for a miner to buy a video card? Grin
3933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sapphire GPU are poorly built? Or just not rugged on: August 20, 2021, 06:52:46 PM
Gigabyte and zotac has the worst cooling materials on them ( cheap thermal pads) while maxsun and yeston have worst cooling mechanism over all but Msi, Asus, sapphire and others are the first on my list, they never failed me, I'm shocked you said they die easily it depends on how the owner took care if the cards, no matter which brand if care is not taken the cards will die fast
I think this is not true. I have 4 year old Gigabyte and zotac graphics cards and they work great. Somewhere I changed some thermal seals, because they deteriorated when removing the cooling system.
Each model has its own problems and here you need to talk specifically. For example, I would not buy MSI MECH or Armor video cards, because this is the worst cooling, and I would buy GAMING with pleasure.
3934  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Future mining plan revealed on: August 20, 2021, 06:41:12 PM
@ Metroid @Philipma your attention is needed since you guys have been around for a very long time now, I have a plan that's been set in motion already since 2020, please kindly tell me if I'm right on track or off track

My plan is to have a 1gh mining farm

1. I'm presently at 400MH as we speak and I've made back my ROI from some of the cards I used to achieve this 400MH, what I want to do now is make back half of the ROI on the new cards I got and start taking profits even in bear market to buy back GPUs since they would be cheaper in bear market

2. Or I should just keep mining for now and taking profits then when bear market starts I should start holding my coins instead, probably in BTC

I have free electricity and solar energy set up, this is 100% covered so you don't need to give answers on electricity consumption, also this is why dream I'm not doing this for quick return of investment, it's what I intend to keep alive for a long time
I think you need to invest more rationally.
Some of the coins are hold.
You spend part of the coins on the purchase of new video cards.
You sell some of the coins when you think they are very expensive and can be invested in new or old undervalued projects.
Besides BTC, I would also invest in other coins.
3935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Avoid expensive GPU on: August 20, 2021, 03:33:23 PM

So you can say it might be worth only 50% of MSRP, not of a scalper price. However with the chip shortage going around. No idea if that will be the case this time. In 2014 and 2018 there was no chip shortage.
It seems to me that in 2014, few people were engaged in mining.
In 2017, there was a very high demand for video cards and there was nothing to buy in stores. This lasted for several months, but in the second half of 2018, mining ceased to be profitable.
Graphics cards that people bought for $ 500-600 sold for $ 150-200.
3936  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sapphire GPU are poorly built? Or just not rugged on: August 20, 2021, 03:28:01 PM

I would try to run those under 60C, usually they start to crash on 65C. Also you could try to drop mem to 2000 or 2030...
Using REF 20?

EDIT: Just checked, i'm running those with 1950 mem, 29,7Mh/s and temp 55C (Ubermix bios with REF 20)
This is the normal temperature for these cards in the summer. Other cards worked for me in the summer at a temperature of 75 degrees Celsius, because there was poor ventilation in that room.
Despite the errors, the farm is very stable, so I don't want to do anything. I've tried different settings, but these are the most stable ones. It is better not to optimize old video cards, it can take a lot of time, but there will be no result.
3937  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Using two different mobo consumes more power on: August 19, 2021, 09:30:56 PM
And why buy a new power supply, if the author of the post has 2 of them. He needs to buy the power supply synchronizer
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002090750175.html?
And then you need to think about how best to mine on a farm from mixed video cards. Use 2 miners for AMD and Nvidia or configure one.
3938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help: GTX 970 Usage fluctuating on: August 19, 2021, 09:19:40 PM
THIS IS THE SOLUTION!! Thank you! Now with all the miners the GPU goes to 100% usage. Mining raven with t-rex i now get 3.9/4 MH/s (vs 1.5/1.6 MH/s as before)... is it good or not?
Thank you again!

AMD Radeon RX 470 4GB - KawPow12.50 Mh/s @ 150W
https://whattomine.com/gpus/24-amd-radeon-rx-470-4gb?cost=0.1
Profit $1.43 per day
Your profit is 3 times less.
I discouraged everyone from mining on 6-7 year old video cards, but if you like it, then continue. Just clean the video card, replace the thermal paste and thermal pads, because during this time the thermal pads lose their properties.
3939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Low performance using HiveOS on: August 19, 2021, 09:11:37 PM
Then why stick with hiveOS? If you are getting more hashrate/performance on windows OS then stick with windows OS, a YouTuber named Caleb who is now getting more popular everyday use T-rex on windows to get 26mh on those cards too and he never switched to hiveOS till now, use what works better for you
Windows has another problem, it is the increased power consumption due to the graphical interface.
The processor needs more power, more information is loaded into the memory of the video card.
From each farm on the hive, you save several tens of kilowatts per hour.
And Windows is more inconvenient for administering a large number of farms
3940  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is it reasonable to start a new GPU mining farm right when eth 2.0 is so close? on: August 19, 2021, 09:05:03 PM
"In January, 2022, at block 2,100,000 the first halving will take place and the reward per block will drop from 5,000 to 2,500 Raven. This will continue with each subsequent 2,100,000 blocks until the reward amount can no longer be halved."
https://ravencoin.org/halving/

I have the opportunity to buy video cards, but I do not buy them because the prices are very expensive.
There is no danger in buying new video cards now if you are willing to wait up to 2 years for a return on investment.
I want to look at the situation in early 2022.
Because I want to buy good graphics cards on sale when Ethereum mining ends.
